| 2 | Differential expression of interleukin-1/Toll-like receptor signaling regulators in microscopic and ulcerative colitis显示文摘AIM:To investigate Toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling regulators in microscopic and ulcerative colitis patients.METHODS:Total RNA and microRNA were isolated from fresh frozen colonic biopsies of non-inflamed controls and patients with active or in-remission collagenous colitis(CC),lymphocytic colitis(LC),or ulcerative colitis(UC).We compared expressions of interleukin-1receptor-associated kinase(IRAK)-2,IRAK-M,interleukin(IL)-37,microRNA(miR)-146a,miR-155,and miR-21 using quantitative real time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS:IRAK-M expression was increased in LC patients with active disease in histopathological remission(LC-HR;P=0.02)and UC patients(P=0.01),but no differences in IRAK-2 expression were detected compared to controls.miR-146a,-155 and-21 expressions were increased in LC-HR(P=0.04,0.07,and 0.004)and UC(P=0.02,0.04 and 0.03)patients.miR-146a and miR-21 expressions were significantly enhanced in UC patients compared to UC remission(UC-R;P=0.01and 0.04).Likewise,active CC patients showed significantly increased expression of miR-155(P=0.003)and miR-21(P=0.006).IL-37 expression was decreased in both CC(P=0.03)and LC(P=0.04)patients with a similar trend in UC patients but not statistically significant,whilst it was increased in UC-R patients compared to controls(P=0.02)and active UC(P=0.001).CONCLUSION:The identification of differentially expressed miRNAs,IL-37,and IRAK-M suggests different pathophysiologic mechanisms in various disease stages in LC,CC,and UC. | Sezin Gunaltay Nils Nyhlin Ashok Kumar Kumawat Curt Tysk Johan Bohr Olof Hultgren Elisabeth Hultgren Hornquist | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,34: | 11 |

| 4 | High level of deoxycholic acid in human bile does not promote cholesterol gallstone formation显示文摘AIM: To study whether patients with excess deoxycholic acid (DCA) differ from those with normal percentage of DCA with respect to biliary lipid composition and cholesterol saturation of gallbladder bile.METHODS: Bile was collected during operation through puncturing into the gallbladder from 122 cholesterol gallstone patients and 46 gallstone-free subjects undergoing cholecystectomy. Clinical data, biliary lipids, bile acid composition,presence of crystals and nucleation time were analyzed.RESULTS: A subgroup of gallstone patients displayeda higher proportion of DCA in bile than gallstone free subjects.By choosing a cut-off level of the 90th percentile, a group of 13 gallstone patients with high DCA levels (mean 50percent of total bile acids) and a large group of 109 patients with normal DCA levels (mean 21 percent of total bile acids)were obtained. The mean age of the patients with high DCA levels was higher than that of the group with normal levels (mean age: 62 years vs45 years) and so was the mean BMI (28.3 vs. 24.7). Plasma levels of cholesterol and triglycerides were slightly higher in the DCA excess groups compared with those in the normal DCA group. There was no difference in biliary lipid composition, cholesterol saturation, nucleation time or occurrence of cholesterol crystals in bile between patients with high and normal levels of DCA.CONCLUSION: Gallstone patients with excess DCA were of older age and had higher BMI than patients with normal DCA. The two groups of patients did not differ with respect to biliary lipid composition, cholesterol saturation, nucleation time or occurrence of cholesterol crystals. | 6 | Challenges and opportunities for nanomaterials in spectral splitting for high-performance hybrid solar photovoltaic-thermal applications:A review显示文摘Hybrid photovoltaic-thermal(PV-T)collectors,which are capable of cogenerating useful thermal energy and electricity from the same aperture area,have a significantly higher overall efficiency and ability to displace emissions compared to independent,separate photovoltaic panels,solar thermal collectors or combinations thereof.Spectral splitting has emerged as a promising route towards next-generation high-performance PV-T collectors,and nanotechnology plays an important role in meeting the optical and thermal requirements of advanced spectral splitting PV-T collector designs.This paper presents a comprehensive review of spectral splitting technologies based on nanomaterials for PV-T applications.Emerging nanomaterials(nanofluids,nanofilms and nanowires)suitable for achieving spectral splitting based on reflection,diffraction,refraction and/or absorption approaches in PV-T collectors are presented,along with the associated challenges and opportunities of these design approaches.The requirements from such materials in terms of optical properties,thermal properties,stability and cost are discussed with the aim of guiding future research and innovation,and developing this technology towards practical application.Nanofluids and nanofilms are currently the most common nanomaterials used for spectral splitting,with significant progress made in recent years in the development of these materials.Nevertheless,there still remains a considerable gap between the optical properties of currently-available filters and the desired properties of ideal filters.Aiming to instruct and guide the future development of filter materials,a simple generalized method is further proposed in this paper to identify optimal filters and efficiency limits of spectral splitting PV-T systems for different scenarios.It is found that the optimal filter of a spectral splitting PV-T system is highly sensitive to the value of thermal energy relative to that of electricity,which therefore depends strongly on the application and location.The efficiency limit of spectral splitting PV-T collectors is significantly higher than that of standalone PV panels.The stability of nanomaterial filters remains a critical challenge for their long-term employment and also for high-temperature operation in practical applications. | Gan Huang Sara Riera Curt Kai Wang Christos N.Markides | 2020 | Nano Materials Science2020,2,3: | 3 |

We use the method of subordination chains to obtain an upper growth result for nA , and we obtain various examples of mappings in the same class of normalized biholomorphic mappings on the unit ball Bn in Cn . We also prove that the class nA is compact, while the full class of spirallike mappings with respect to a linear operator need not be compact in dimension n≥2, even when the operator is diagonal. This is one of the motivations for considering the class nA . Finally we prove that if f is a quasiregular strongly spirallike mapping on Bn such that ||[Df(z)]-1 Af(z)|| is uniformly bounded on Bn , then f extends to a homeomorphism of R2n onto itself. While driving two sub-parallel footwall laterals 8125 m in length, one of the development drifts experienced a massive fall in a geologically disturbed area created by a mafic dike intrusion. Combinations of a void fill material(Tekseal), polyurethane injection, fore poling coupled with steel arches, and supplemental bolting allow safe and efficient advance through this geologically disturbed zone.
