| 2 | Signaling pathways and targeted therapy for myocardial infarction显示文摘Although the treatment of myocardial infarction(MI)has improved considerably,it is still a worldwide disease with high morbidity and high mortality.Whilst there is still a long way to go for discovering ideal treatments,therapeutic strategies committed to cardioprotection and cardiac repair following cardiac ischemia are emerging.Evidence of pathological characteristics in MI illustrates cell signaling pathways that participate in the survival,proliferation,apoptosis,autophagy of cardiomyocytes,endothelial cells,fibroblasts,monocytes,and stem cells.These signaling pathways include the key players in inflammation response,e.g.,NLRP3/caspase-1 and TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB;the crucial mediators in oxidative stress and apoptosis,for instance,Notch,Hippo/YAP,RhoA/ROCK,Nrf2/HO-1,and Sonic hedgehog;the controller of myocardial fibrosis such as TGF-β/SMADs and Wnt/β-catenin;and the main regulator of angiogenesis,PI3K/Akt,MAPK,JAK/STAT,Sonic hedgehog,etc.Since signaling pathways play an important role in administering the process of MI,aiming at targeting these aberrant signaling pathways and improving the pathological manifestations in MI is indispensable and promising.Hence,drug therapy,gene therapy,protein therapy,cell therapy,and exosome therapy have been emerging and are known as novel therapies.In this review,we summarize the therapeutic strategies for MI by regulating these associated pathways,which contribute to inhibiting cardiomyocytes death,attenuating inflammation,enhancing angiogenesis,etc.so as to repair and re-functionalize damaged hearts. | Qing Zhang Lu Wang Shiqi Wang Hongxin Cheng Lin Xu Gaiqin Pei Yang Wang Chenying Fu Yangfu Jiang Chengqi He Quan Wei | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4: | 11 |
| 3 | Protective effect of nitric oxide on hepatopulmonary syndrome from ischemia-reperfusion injury显示文摘AIM:To evaluate immunological protection of nitric oxide(NO) in hepatopulmonary syndrome and probable mechanisms of ischemia-reperfusion(IR) injury in rat liver transplantation.METHODS:Sixty-six healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups(11 donor/recipi-ent pairs).In group Ⅱ,organ preservation solution was lactated Ringer's solution with heparin 10 000/L at 4 ℃.In groups Ⅰ and Ⅲ,the preservation solution added,respectively,L-arginine or N G-L-arginine methyl ester(L-NAME)(1 mmol/L) based on group Ⅱ,and recipients were injected with L-arginine or L-NAME(50 mg/kg) in the anhepatic phase.Grafted livers in each group were stored for 6 h and implanted into recipients.Five rats were used for observation of postoperative survival in each group.The other six rats in each group were used to obtain tissue samples,and executed at 3 h and 24 h after transplantation.The levels of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-and NO metabolites(NOx) were detected,and expression of NO synthase,TNF-and intercellular adhesion molecule 1(ICAM-1) was examined by triphosphopyridine nucleotide diaphorase histochemical and immunohistochemical staining.RESULTS:By supplementing L-arginine to strengthen the NO pathway,a high survival rate was achieved and hepatic function was improved.One-week survival rate of grafted liver recipients in group Ⅰ was significantly increased(28.8 ± 36.6 d vs 4 ± 1.7 d,P < 0.01) as compared with groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ.Serum levels of ALT in group Ⅰ were 2-7 times less than those in groups Ⅱ and Ⅲ(P < 0.01).The cyclic guanosine monophosphate(cGMP) levels in liver tissue and NOx in group Ⅰ were 3-4 times higher than those of group Ⅱ after 3 h and 24 h reperfusion,while in group Ⅲ,they were significantly reduced as compared with those in group Ⅱ(P < 0.01).The levels of TNF-in group Ⅰ were significantly lower than in group Ⅱ after 3 h and 24 h reperfusion(P < 0.01),while being significantly higher in group Ⅲ than group Ⅱ(P < 0.01).Histopathology revealed more severe tissue damage in graft liver and lung tissues,and a more severe inflammatory response of the recipient after using NO synthase inhibitor,while the pathological damage to grafted liver and the recipient's lung tissues was signifi-cantly reduced in group Ⅰ after 3 h and 24 h reperfusion.A small amount of constitutive NO synthase(cNOS) was expressed in liver endothelial cells after 6 h cold storage,but there was no expression of inducible NO synthase(iNOS).Expression of cNOS was particularly significant in vascular endothelial cells and liver cells at 3 h and 24 h after reperfusion in group Ⅱ,but expression of iNOS and ICAM-1 was low in group Ⅰ.There was diffuse strong expression of ICAM-1 and TNF-in group Ⅲ at 3 h after reperfusion.CONCLUSION:The NO/cGMP pathway may be critical in successful organ transplantation,especially in treating hepatopulmonary syndrome during cold IR injury in rat orthotopic liver transplantation. | Tong-Jin Diao, Xin Chen Li-Hua Deng, Han-Xiang ChenI Yan Liang Xiao-Dong Zhao Qing-Hua Wang, Wei-Sheng Yuan Bai-Chun Gao Yong Ye | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,25: | 7 |

| 6 | Conversion regular patterns of acetic acid,propionic acid and butyric acid in UASB reactor显示文摘On the basis of continuous tests and batch tests, conversion regular patterns of acetate, propionate and butyrate in activated sludge at different heights of the UASB reactor were conducted. Results indicated that the conversion capacity of the microbe is decided by the substrate characteristic when sole VFA is used as the only substrate. But when mixed substrates are used,the conversion regulations would have changed accordingly. Relationships of different substrates vary according to their locations. In the whole reactor, propionate’s conversion is restrained by acetate and butyrate of high concentration. On the top and at the bottom of the reactor, conversion of acetate, but butyrate, is restrained by propionate. And in the midst, acetate’s conversion is accelerated by propionate while that of butyrate is restrained. It is proved, based on the analysis of specific conversion rate, that the space distribution of the microbe is the main factor that affects substrates’ conversion. | 7 | Sialic acid-engineered mesoporous polydopamine nanoparticles loaded with SPIO and Fe3+as a novel theranostic agent for T1/T2 dual-mode MRI-guided combined chemo-photothermal treatment of hepatic cancer显示文摘diagnostic and therapeutic capability are highly needed for the treatment of hepatic cancer.Herein,we aimed to develop a novel mesoporous polydopamine(MPDA)-based theranostic agent for T1/T2 dual magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)-guided cancer chemo-photothermal therapy.Superparamagnetic iron oxide(SPIO)-loaded MPDA NPs(MPDA@SPIO)was firstly prepared,followed by modifying with a targeted molecule of sialic acid(SA)and chelating with Fe^(3+)(SA-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs).After that,doxorubicin(DOX)-loaded SA-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs(SA-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+))was prepared for tumor theranostics.The prepared SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs were water-dispersible and biocompatible as evidenced by MTT assay.In vitro photothermal and relaxivity property suggested that the novel theranostic agent possessed excellent photothermal conversion capability and photostability,with relaxivity of being r1=4.29 mM��1s��1 and r2=105.53 mM��1s��1,respectively.SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/Fe^(3+) NPs could effectively encapsulate the DOX,showing dual pH-and thermal-triggered drug release behavior.In vitro and in vivo studies revealed that SA-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+) NPs could effectively target to the hepatic tumor tissue,which was possibly due to the specific interaction between SA and the overexpressed E-selectin.This behavior also endowed SA-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+)NPs with a more precise T1-T2 dual mode contrast imaging effect than the one without SA modification.In addition,SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+) NPs displayed a superior therapeutic effect,which was due to its active targeting ability and combined effects of chemotherapy and photothermal therapy.These results demonstrated that SAPEG-MPDA@SPIO/DOX/Fe^(3+) NPs is an effective targeted nanoplatform for tumor theranostics,having potential value in the effective treatment of hepatic cancer. | Gaofeng Shu Minjiang Chen Jingjing Song Xiaoling Xu Chenying Lu Yuyin Du Min Xu Zhongwei Zhao Minxia Zhu Kai Fan Xiaoxi Fan Shiji Fang Bufu Tang Yiyang Dai Yongzhong Du Jiansong Ji | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,5: | 4 |
| 8 | Ginger polysaccharide UGP1 suppressed human colon cancer growth via p53,Bax/Bcl-2,caspase-3 pathways and immunomodulation显示文摘In previous study,we got a purified ginger polysaccharide UGP1 and verified its significant antitumor activities on colon cancer HCT116 cells.In this article,we aimed to illustrate the underlying mechanism of UGP1 exerted antitumor activities on colon cancer by using in vitro cell models and in vivo animal models.The results demonstrated that UGP1 could induce S-phase cell cycle arrest,up-regulate the expression of Bax and p53,down-regulate the expression of Bcl-2,and activate the downstream protein caspase-9 and caspase-3,which was related to intrinsic apoptosis pathway on HCT116 cells.Moreover,UGP1 significantly stimulated RAW264.7 cell proliferation and secretion activity.Similarly,UGP1 inhibited tumor proliferation on tumor-bearing mice,increased the expression of p53 and the ratio of Bax/Bcl-2,enhanced the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α,IL-2,IL-6 and decreased the secretion of pro-tumor cytokines TGF-βand b FGF in serum.In conclusion,it indicated that the UGP 1 could sup press human colon cancer growth by inducing apoptosis via the regulation of p53,caspase-3,and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio-dependent pathway and regulating immune system activity.Thi s investigation provided basic theoretical mechanism of ginger polysaccharideexerted antitumor activities,and contributed to develop a possible functional food or adjuvant agent for prevention or treatment of colon cancer. | Yanfang Qian Chenying Shi Chen Cheng Dengwei Liao Junping Liu Guitang Chen | 2023 | Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,2: | 4 |

| 11 | Fabrication of Nanoscale Step Height Structure Using Atomic Layer Deposition Combined with Wet Etching显示文摘The current techniques used for the fabrication of nanosteps are normally done by layer growth and then ion beam thinning. There are also extra films grown on the step surfaces in order to reduce the roughness. So the whole process is time consuming. In this paper, a nanoscale step height structure is fabricated by atomic layer deposition(ALD) and wet etching techniques. According to the traceable of the step height value, the fabrication process is controllable. Because ALD technology can grow a variety of materials, aluminum oxide(Al_2O_3) is used to fabricate the nanostep. There are three steps of Al_2O_3 in this structure including 8 nm, 18 nm and 44 nm. The thickness of Al_2O_3 film and the height of the step are measured by anellipsometer. The experimental results show that the thickness of Al_2O_3 film is consistent with the height of the step. The height of the step is measured by AFM. The measurement results show that the height is related to the number of cycles of ALD and the wet etching time. The bottom and the sidewall surface roughness are related to the wet etching time. The step height is calibrated by Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt(PTB) and the results were 7.5±1.5 nm, 15.5±2.0 nm and 41.8±2.1 nm, respectively. | 19 | Efficient phase-induced gabor cube selection and weighted fusion for hyperspectral image classification显示文摘Spectral-spatial Gabor filtering(GF),a robust feature extraction tool,has been widely investigated for hyperspectral image(HSI)classification.Recently,a new type of GF method,named phase-induced GF,which showed great potential for HSI feature extraction,was proposed.Although this new type of GF possibly better explores the frequency characteristics of HSIs,with a new parameter added,it generates a much larger amount of features,yielding redundancies and noises,and is therefore risky to severely deteriorate the efficiency and accuracy of classification.To tackle this problem,we fully exploit phase-induced Gabor features efficiently,proposing an efficient phase-induced Gabor cube selection and weighted fusion(EPCS-WF)method for HSI classification.Specifically,to eliminate the redundancies and noises,we first select the most representative Gabor cubes using a newly designed energy-based phase-induced Gabor cube selection(EPCS)algorithm before feeding them into classifiers.Then,a weighted fusion(WF)strategy is adopted to integrate the mutual information residing in different feature cubes to generate the final predictions.Our experimental results obtained on four well-known HSI datasets demonstrate that the EPCS-WF method,while only adopting four selected Gabor cubes for classification,delivers better performance as compared with other Gabor-based methods.The code of this work is available at http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460as9w059uoxn6o06fnn.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/cairlin5/EPCS-WF-hyperspectral-image-classification for the sake of reproducibility. | CAI RunLin LIU ChenYing LI Jun | 2022 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,4: | 2 |
