1Fast-track program vs traditional care in surgery for gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To systematically review the evidence for the effectiveness of fast-track program vs traditional care in laparoscopic or open surgery for gastric cancer.METHODS:PubMed,Embase and the Cochrane library databases were electronically searched for published studies between January 1995 and April 2013,and only randomized trials were included.The references of relevant studies were manually searched for further studies that may have been missed.Search terms included'gastric cancer','fast track'and'enhanced recovery'.Five outcome variables were considered most suitable for analysis:postoperative hospital stay,medical cost,duration to first flatus,C-reactive protein(CRP)level and complications.Postoperative hospital stay was calculated from the date of operation to the date of discharge.Fixed effects model was used for meta-analysis.RESULTS:Compared with traditional care,fasttrack program could significantly decrease the postoperative hospital stay[weighted mean difference(WMD)=-1.19,95%CI:-1.79--0.60,P=0.0001,fixed model],duration to first flatus(WMD=-6.82,95%CI:-11.51--2.13,P=0.004),medical costs(WMD=-2590,95%CI:-4054--1126,P=0.001),and the level of CRP(WMD=-17.78,95%CI:-32.22--3.35,P=0.0001)in laparoscopic surgery for gastric cancer.In open surgery for gastric cancer,fast-track program could also significantly decrease the postoperative hospital stay(WMD=-1.99,95%CI:-2.09--1.89,P=0.0001),duration to first flatus(WMD=-12.0,95%CI:-18.89--5.11,P=0.001),medical cost(WMD=-3674,95%CI:-5025--2323,P=0.0001),and the level of CRP(WMD=-27.34,95%CI:-35.42--19.26,P=0.0001).Furthermore,fast-track program did not significantly increase the incidence of complication(RR=1.39,95%CI:0.77-2.51,P=0.27,for laparoscopic surgery;and RR=1.52,95%CI:0.90-2.56,P=0.12,for open surgery).CONCLUSION:Our overall results suggested that compared with traditional care,fast-track program could result in shorter postoperative hospital stay,less medical costs,and lower level of CRP,with no more complications occurring in both laparoscopic and open surgery for gastric cancer.Zhi-Xing Chen Ae-Huey Jennifer Liu Ying Cen 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,2:41
2Non-uniform distribution of gas-solid flow through six parallel cyclones in a CFB system: An experimental study显示文摘In large-scale circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers, it is common to use multiple cyclones in parallel for the capture of solids, assuming that gas-solid flow to be the same in the cyclones. This article presents a study investigating gas-solid flow through six parallel cyclones in a CFB cold test rig. The six cyclones were located asymmetrically on the left and right walls of the riser. Solid volume fraction and particle velocity profiles at the riser outlets and in the horizontal ducts were measured using a fiber optical probe. Cyclone pressure drop and solid circulating rate were measured for each individual cyclone. Measurements showed good agreement as to the non-uniform distribution of the gas-solid flow, which occurred mainly across the three cyclones on one side: the middle cyclones on both sides had higher particle velocities. Conversely, the solid volume fractions, solid fluxes and solid circulating rates of the middle cyclones were lower than those of the other four cyclones. The apparent reason for the flow non-uniformity among the cyclones is the significant flow non-uniformity at the riser outlets. Under typical operating conditions, the solid volume fractions at the riser outlets had a deviation of up to 26% whereas the solid circulating rates at the stand pipes, 7%. 3Petrogenesis of early Yanshanian highly evolved granites in the Longyuanba area,southern Jiangxi Province:Evidence from zircon U-Pb dating,Hf-O isotope and whole-rock geochemistry显示文摘Early Yanshanian(Jurassic) granitoids are widespread in the Nanling Range,South China.Whereas large granitic batholiths commonly crop out in the center of the Nanling Range(corresponding geographically to the central and northern parts of Guangdong Province),many small stocks occur in the southern part of Jiangxi Province.Most of the small stocks are associated closely with economically significant rare-metal deposits(W,Sn,Nb,Ta).Here we report the results for biotite granites and two-mica granites from three Yanshanian stocks of the Longyuanba complex.LA-ICPMS U-Pb dating of zircon yields an age of 156.1±2.1 Ma for Xiaomubei biotite granite,and U-Pb zircon dating using SIMS yields an age of 156.7±1.2 Ma for Longyuanba-Chengjiang biotite granite and 156.4±1.3 Ma for Jiangtoudong two-mica granite.Biotite granites are silica-rich(SiO 2 =70%-79%),potassic(K 2 O/Na 2 O>1.9),and peraluminous(ASI=1.05-1.33).Associated samples are invariably enriched in Rb,Th,Pb and LREE,yet depleted in Ba,Nb,Sr,P and Ti,and their REE pattern shows a large fractionation between LREE and HREE((La/Yb) N =10.7-13.5) and a pronounced Eu negative anomaly(δEu=0.28-0.41).Two-mica granite samples are also silica-rich(SiO 2 =75%-79%),potassic(K 2 O/Na 2 O>1.2),and peraluminous(ASI=1.09-1.17).However,in contrast to the biotite granites,they are more enriched in Rb,Th,Pb and extremely depleted in Ba,Nb,Sr,P and Ti,and exhibit nearly flat((La/Yb) N =0.75-1.08) chondrite-normalized REE patterns characterized by strong Eu depletion(δEu=0.02-0.04) and clear tetrad effect(TE 1.3 =1.10-1.14).Biotite granites and two-mica granties have comparable Nd isotopic signatures,and their εNd(t) are concentrated in the 13.0 to 9.6 and 11.5 to 7.7 respectively.Their zircon Hf-O isotopes of both also show similarity(biotite granites:εHf(t)= 10.8-7.9,δ 18 O=7.98‰-8.89‰ and εHf(t)= 13.8 to 9.1,δ 18 O=8.31‰-10.08‰;two-mica granites:εHf(t)= 11.3 to 8.0,δ 18 O=7.91‰-9.77‰).The results show that both biotite and two-mica granites were derived mainly from sedimentary source rocks with a minor contribution from mantle-derived materials.In spite of some S-type characteristics,the biotite granites were formed by fractional crystallization of I-type magma and assimilation of peraluminous sedimentary rocks during their ascent to the surface.Therefore,they belong to highly fractionated I-type granites.Two-mica granites exhibit a tetrad effect in their REE patterns,but share the same isotopic features with the biotite granites,suggesting that they are highly fractionated I-type granites as well.Their Lanthanide tetrad effects may be attributed to the hydrothermal alteration by magmatic fluids that have suffered degassing at late stages.Granitic magmas undergoing fractional crystallization and wall-rock assilimation can generate highly evolved granites with no REE tetrad effect in the uni-phase system.However,in the late-stage of magmatic evolution in the multi-phase system(i.e.,magmatic-hydrothermal system),these magmas also can lead to the highly evolved granites exhibiting mew-shaped REE pattern characterized by tetrad effect as the consequence of melt-fluid and fluid-vapor fractionation,and the resultant autometasomatism.We thus suggest that the REE pattern exhibiting tetrad effect feature is an important indicator of rare metal mineralization in the early Yanshanian time in southern China,implying the metamorphism of the ore fluid.TAO JiHua LI WuXian LI XianHua CEN Tao 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,6:26
4Simultaneous oxidation of NO,SO_2 and Hg^0 from flue gas by pulsed corona discharge显示文摘A process capable of simultaneously oxidizing NO,SO2,and Hg0 was proposed,using a high-voltage and short-duration positive pulsed corona discharge.By focusing on NO,SO2,and Hg0 oxidation effciencies,the influences of pulse peak voltage,pulse frequency,initial concentration,electrode number,residence time and water vapor addition were investigated.The results indicate that NO,SO2 and Hg0 oxidation effciencies depend primarily on the radicals(OH,HO2,O) and the active species(O3,H2O2,etc.) produced by the pulsed corona discharge.The NO,SO2 and Hg0 oxidation effciencies could be improved as pulse peak voltage,pulse frequency,electrode number and residence time increased,but they were reduced with increasing initial concentrations.By adding water vapor,the SO2 oxidation effciency was improved remarkably,while the NO oxidation effciency decreased slightly.In our experiments,the simultaneous NO,SO2,and Hg0 oxidation effciencies reached to 40%,98%,and 55% with the initial concentrations 479 mg/m3,1040 mg/m3,and 15.0 μg/m3,respectively.XU Fei,LUO Zhongyang,CAO Wei,WANG Peng,WEI Bo,GAO Xiang,FANG Mengxiang,CEN Kefa State key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China. 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,3:22

6Moisture distribution in sludges based on different testing methods显示文摘Moisture distributions in municipal sewage sludge, printing and dyeing sludge and paper mill sludge were experimentally studied based on four different methods, i.e., drying test, thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) test, thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC) test and water activity test. The results indicated that the moistures in the mechanically dewatered sludges were interstitial water, surface water and bound water. The interstitial water accounted for more than 50% wet basis (wb) of the total moisture content. The bond strength of sludge moisture increased with decreasing moisture content, especially when the moisture content was lower than 50% wb. Furthermore, the comparison among the four different testing methods was presented. The drying test was advantaged by its ability to quantify free water, interstitial water, surface water and bound water; while TG-DSC test, TG-DTA test and water activity test were capable of determining the bond strength of moisture in sludge. 7Gain-of-function mutant p53 in cancer progression and therapy显示文摘p53 is a key tumor suppressor,and loss of p53 function is frequently a prerequisite for cancer development.The p53 gene is the most frequently mutated gene in human cancers;p53 mutations occur in>50%of all human cancers and in almost every type of human cancers.Most of p53 mutations in cancers are missense mutations,which produce the full-length mutant p53(mutp53)protein with only one amino acid difference from wild-type p53 protein.In addition to loss of the tumor-suppressive function of wild-type p53,many mutp53 proteins acquire new oncogenic activities independently of wild-type p53 to promote cancer progression,termed gain-of-function(GOF).Mutp53 protein often accumulates to very high levels in cancer cells,which is critical for its GOF.Given the high mutation frequency of the p53 gene and the GOF activities of mutp53 in cancer,therapies targeting mutp53 have attracted great interest.Further understanding the mechanisms underlying mutp53 protein accumulation and GOF will help develop effective therapies treating human cancers containing mutp53.In this review,we summarize the recent advances in the studies on mutp53 regulation and GOF as well as therapies targeting mutp53 in human cancers.Cen Zhang Juan Liu Dandan Xu Tianliang Zhang Wenwei Hu Zhaohui Feng 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,9:18
8Effects of Magnesium and Ferric Ions on Crystallization of Calcium Sulfate Dihydrate Under the Simulated Conditions of Wet Flue-gas Desulfurization显示文摘The influences of magnesium and ferric ions in their different ratios on the rate of gypsum crystallization were studied under the conditions similar to those of wet flue-gas desulfurization(WFGD). The results show that addition of both Mg2+ and Fe3+ increased induction time and decreased the growth efficiency up to 50% compared with the baseline(without impurities) depending on the concentration and the type of impurity. The effects of Mg2+ and Fe3+ on the surface energy and the rate of nucleation were estimated by employing the classical nucleation theory. The surface energy decreased by 8% and 14% with the addition of 0.02 mol/L magnesium or ferric ions, respectively, compared to the baseline. Mg2+ and Fe3+ made the growth rate of the (020), (021) and (040) faces of gypsum crystal a much greater reduction, which leads to the formation of needle crystals compared to the baseline which favors the formation of plate or flakes. Furthermore, an edge detection program was developed to quantify the effects of impurities on the filtration rate of gypsum product. 9Effect of temperature and oxygen on the formation of chlorobenzene as the indicator of PCDD/Fs显示文摘Sampling and analysis of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs) are both time-consuming and expensive. In principle,real-time monitoring of chlorobenzene(CBz) as an indicator for PCDD/Fs could be useful to control and optimize incinerator operating conditions.To test this strategy,CBz was analyzed together with PCDD/Fs in flue gas samples collected from a hospital waste incinerator.Moreover,lab experiments were conducted to investigate the eect of temperature and oxygen on CBz formation from fly ash from the same incinerator.The experimental results demonstrate that chlorobenzene(in particular PeCBz) correlate well with PCDD/Fs,in line with previous research.The optimum temperature of CBz formation is in a range of 350 to 400°C and CBz yield increases significantly with oxygen,in line with PCDD/Fs formation.This study is useful for confirming the de novo mechanism and defining correlations between CBz and PCDD/Fs.Mi Yan,Xiaodong LiTong Chen,Shengyong Lu,Jianhua Yan,Kefa Cen State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,10:16

11An Experimental Investigation of a new Method for Protecting Bends from Erosion in Gas-Particle Flows显示文摘Bend erosion is a fairly serious problem in conveyer pipe system. This paper intends to introduce a new antierosion method for bend: ribbed anti-erosion method. Experimental research has been done by fixing ribs in the range of 10°- 70°on the outer-wall of inside 90°-bend. As a result the experiment got anti-erosion efficiency: 93.02%. It shows that ribbed bend technology is a simple and efficient anti-erosion method. 12Ovary cancer incidence and mortality in China, 2011显示文摘Objective: To evaluate and analyze ovary cancer incidence and mortality in China in 2011 using ovary cancer data from population-based cancer registration in China, and to provide scientific information for its control and prevention.Methods: Invasive cases of ovary cancer were extracted and analyzed from the overall Chinese cancer database in 2011, which were based on data from 177 population-based cancer registries distributing in 28 provinces. The crude, standardized, and truncated incidences and mortalities et al. were calculated and new and deaths cases from ovary cancer throughout China and in different regions in 2011 were estimated using Chinese practical population.Results: The estimates of new ovary cancer cases and deaths were 45,223 and 18,430, respectively, in China in 2011. The crude incidence rate, age-standardized rate by Chinese standard population(ASR-C) and agestandardized rate by world standard population(ASR-W) incidence were 6.89/100,000, 5.35/100,000 and 5.08/100,000, respectively; the crude, ASR-C and ASR-W mortalities were 2.81/100,000, 2.01/100,000 and 1.99/100,000, respectively. The incidence and mortality in urban areas were higher than those in rural areas. The age-specific incidence and mortality increased rapidly from age 35-39 and peaked at age 60-64 or 75-79 years. After age 45 or 55, the age-specific incidence and death rates in urban were much higher than those in rural areas. 13Genome Sequences Provide Insights into the Reticulate Origin and Unique Traits of Woody Bamboos显示文摘Polyploidization is a major driver of speciation and its importance to plant evolution has been well recognized.Bamboos comprise one diploid herbaceous and three polyploid woody lineages,and are members of the only major subfamily in grasses that diversified in forests,with the woody members having a tree-like lignified culm.In this study,we generated four draft genome assemblies of major bamboo lineages with three different ploidy levels(diploid,tetraploid,and hexaploid).We also constructed a high-density genetic linkage map for a hexaploid species of bamboo,and used a linkage-map-based strategy for genome assembly and identification of subgenomes in polyploids.Further phylogenomic analyses using a large dataset of syntenic genes with expected copies based on ploidy levels revealed that woody bamboos originated subsequent to the divergence of the herbaceous bamboo lineage,and experienced complex reticulate evolution through three independent allopolyploid events involving four extinct diploid ancestors.A shared but distinct subgenome was identified in all polyploid forms,and the progenitor of this subgenome could have been critical in ancient polyploidizations and the origin of woody bamboos.Important genetic clues to the unique flowering behavior and woody trait in bamboos were also found.Taken together,our study provides significant insights into ancient reticulate evolution at the subgenome level in the absence of extant donor species,and offers a potential model scenario for broad-scale study of angiosperm origination by allopolyploidization.Zhen-Hua Guo Peng-Fei Ma Guo-Qian Yang Jin-Yong Hu Yun-Long Liu En-Hua Xia Mi-Cai Zhong Lei Zhao Gui-Ling Sun Yu-Xing Xu You-Jie Zhao Yi-Chi Zhang Yu-Xiao Zhang Xue-Mei Zhang Meng-Yuan Zhou Ying Guo Cen Guo Jing-Xia Liu Xia-Ying Ye Yun-Mei Chen Yang Yang Bin Han Choun-Sea Lin Ying Lu De-Zhu Li 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,10:13
14Research on coal staged conversion poly-generation system based on fluidized bed显示文摘A new coal staged conversion poly-generation system combined coal combustion and pyrolysis has been developed for clean and high efficient utilization of coal.Coal is the first pyrolysed in a fluidized pyrolyzer.The pyrolysis gas is then purified and used for chemical product or liquid fuel production.Tar is collected during purification and can be processed to extract high value product and to make liquid fuels by hydro-refining.Semi-coke from the pyrolysis reactor is burned in a circulating fluidized bed(CFB)combustor for heat or power generation.The system can realize coal multiproduct generation and has a great potential to increase coal utilization value.A 1 MW poly-generation system pilot plant and a 12 MW CFB gas,tar,heat and power poly-generation system was erected.The experimental study focused on the two fluidized bed operation and characterization of gas,tar and char yields and compositions.The results showed that the system could operate stable,and produce about 0.12 m^(3)/kg gas with 22 MJ/m^(3)heating value and about 10 wt%tar when using Huainan bituminous coal under pyrolysis temperature between 500 and 600℃.The produced gases were mainly H_(2),CH_(4),CO,CO_(2),C_(2)H_(4),C_(2)H_(6),C_(3)H_(6)and C_(3)H_(8).The CFB combustor can burn semi-coke steadily.The application prospect of the new system was discussed.Mingjiang Ni Chao Li Mengxiang Fang Qinhui Wang Zhongyang Luo Kefa Cen 2014International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2014,1,1:13
15Frequency comparative study of coal-fired fly ash acoustic agglomeration显示文摘Particulate pollution is main kind of atmospheric pollution.The fine particles are seriously harmful to human health and environment.Acoustic agglomeration is considered as a promising pretreatment technology for fine particle agglomeration.The mechanisms of acoustic agglomeration are very complex and the agglomeration efficiency is affected by many factors.The most important and controversial factor is frequency.Comparative studies between high-frequency and low-frequency sound source to agglomerate coal- fired fly ash were carried out to investigate the influence of frequency on agglomeration efficiency.Acoustic agglomeration theoretical analysis,experimental particle size distributions (PSDs) and orthogonal design were examined.The results showed that the 20 kHz high-frequency sound source was not suitable to agglomerate coal-fired fly ash.Only within the size ranging from 0.2 to 0.25 μm the particles agglomerated to adhere together,and the agglomerated particles were smaller than 2.5 μm.The application of low-frequency (1000-1800 Hz) sound source was proved as an advisable pretreatment with the highest agglomeration efficiency of 75.3%,and all the number concentrations within the measuring range decreased.Orthogonal design L16 (4) 3 was introduced to determine the optimum frequency and optimize acoustic agglomeration condition.According to the results of orthogonal analysis,frequency was the dominant factor of coal-fired fly ash acoustic agglomeration and the optimum frequency was 1400 Hz.Jianzhong Liu Jie Wang Guangxue Zhang Junhu Zhou Kefa Cen 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,11:13

17Effect of oxidation treatment on the adsorption and the stability of mercury on activated carbon显示文摘Oxidation treatment on the adsorption and the stability of Hg on activated carbon (AC) was inrestigated. Both MnO2-AC and FeCl3-AC were produced during oxidation treatment. The measurement of modified AC’s mercury adsorption capacity was conducted in a simulated coal-fired flue gas by adsorbing test apparatus. TCLP and column leaching methods were used to test the stability of mercury adsorbed on ACs. The results indicate that the oxidation treatment changed the pore structure of the AC and modified the carbon surface by creating chemical components such as MnO4-, Mn4+, O, NO3-, Fe3+, Cl-, etc. The Hg sorption capacity on MnO2-AC or FeCl3-AC was about three times higher than that of untreated carbon. In addition, the mercury control cost of each of the formers was about the half cost of the untreated carbon. The stability of Hg absorption was studied, it found that mercury adsorbed on the oxidation treated AC was not better than that of untreated carbon. It could concluded that the insoluble form of Hg is very important to the stability of mercury adsorbed on AC. 18Hangzhou criteria as downstaging criteria in hepatocellular ca显示文摘Background:The downstaging of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has been confirmed to benefit liver transplantation(LT)patients whose tumors are beyond the transplantation criteria.Milan criteria(MC),a tumor size and number-based assessment,is currently used as the endpoint in these patients.However,many studies believe that tumor biological behavior should be added to the evaluation criteria for downstaging efficacy.Hence,this study aimed to explore the feasibility of Hangzhou criteria(HC),which introduced tumor grading and alpha-fetoprotein in addition to tumor size and number,as an endpoint of downstaging.Methods:We performed a multicenter and retrospective study of 206 patients accepted locoregional therapy(LRT)as downstaging/bridge treatment prior to LT in three centers of China.Results:Recipients were divided into four groups:failed downstaging to the HC(group A,n=46),successful downstaging to the HC(group B,n=30),remained within the HC all the time(group C,n=113),and tumor progressed(group D,n=17).The 3-year HCC recurrence probabilities of groups B and C were not significantly different(10.3%vs.11.6%,P=0.87).The HCC recurrent rate was significantly higher in group A(52.3%)compared with that in group B/C(P<0.05).Seven patients(7/76,9.2%)whose tumor exceeded the the HC were successfully downstaged to the MC,and 39.5%(30/76)to the the HC.In group B,23 patients remained beyond the MC and their survivals were as well as those of patients within the MC.Conclusions:Compared to the MC,HC downstaging criteria can give more HCC patients access to LT and furthermore,the outcome of these patients is the same as those matching MC downstaging criteria.Hangzhou downstaging criteria therefore is applicable in clinical practice.Qi-Fan Zhan Sun-Bin Ling Yi-Nan Deng Qiao-Nan Shan Qian-Wei Ye Sheng-Jun Xu Guang-Jiang Jiang Di Lu Xu-Yong Wei Li Zhuang Wu Zhang Tian Shen Bei-Ni Cen Hai-Yang Xie Ji-Min Liu Jian Wu Shu-Sen Zheng Yang Yang Xiao Xu 2020Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2020,19,4:11
19Berberine prevents stress-induced gut inflammation and visceral hypersensitivity and reduces intestinal motility in rats显示文摘BACKGROUND Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common chronic non-organic disease of the digestive system. Berberine (BBR) has been used to treat patients with IBS, but the underlying therapeutic mechanism is little understood. We believe that BBR achieves its therapeutic effect on IBS by preventing stress intestinal inflammation and visceral hypersensitivity and reducing bowel motility. AIM To test the hypothesis that BBR achieves its therapeutic effect on IBS by preventing subclinical inflammation of the intestinal mucosa and reducing visceral hypersensitivity and intestinal motility. METHODS IBS was induced in rats via water avoidance stress (WAS). qRT-PCR and histological analyses were used to evaluate the levels of cytokines and mucosal inflammation, respectively. Modified ELISA and qRT-PCR were used to evaluate the nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) signal transduction pathway. Colorectal distention test, gastrointestinal transit measurement, Western blot, and qRT-PCR were used to analyze visceral sensitivity, intestinal motility, the expression of Ckit (marker of Cajal mesenchymal cells), and the expression of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptor TrkB.RESULTS WAS led to mucosal inflammation, visceral hyperalgesia, and high intestinal motility. Oral administration of BBR inhibited the NF-κB signal transduction pathway, reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines [interleukin (IL)- 1β, IL-6, interferon-γ, and tumor necrosis factor-α], promoted the expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10 and transforming growth factor-β), and improved the terminal ileum tissue inflammation. BBR inhibited the expression of BDNF, TrkB, and C-kit in IBS rats, leading to the reduction of intestinal motility and visceral hypersensitivity. The therapeutic effect of BBR at a high dose (100 mg/kg) was superior to than that of the low-dose (25 mg/kg) group. CONCLUSION BBR reduces intestinal mucosal inflammation by inhibiting the intestinal NF-κB signal pathway in the IBS rats. BBR reduces the expression of BDNF, its receptor TrkB, and C-kit.
