1In vivo theranostics with near-infraredemitting carbon dots—highly efficient photothermal therapy based on passive targeting after intravenous administration显示文摘Carbon dots that exhibit near-infrared fluorescence(NIR CDs)are considered emerging nanomaterials for advanced biomedical applications with low toxicity and superior photostability and targeting compared to currently used photoluminescence agents.Despite progress in the synthesis of NIR CDs,there remains a key obstacle to using them as an in vivo theranostic agent.This work demonstrates that the newly developed sulfur and nitrogen codoped NIR CDs are highly efficient in photothermal therapy(PTT)in mouse models(conversion efficiency of 59%)and can be readily visualized by photoluminescence and photoacoustic imaging.The real theranostic potential of NIR CDs is enhanced by their unique biodistribution and targeting.Contrary to all other nanomaterials that have been tested in biomedicine,they are excreted through the body’s renal filtration system.Moreover,after intravenous injection,NIR CDs are accumulated in tumor tissue via passive targeting,without any active species such as antibodies.Due to their accumulation in tumor tissue without the need for intratumor injection,high photothermal conversion,excellent optical and photoacoustic imaging performance,and renal excretion,the developed CDs are suitable for transfer to clinical biomedical practice.Xin Bao Ye Yuan Jingqin Chen Bohan Zhang Di Li Ding Zhou Pengtao Jing Guiying Xu Yingli Wang Kateřina Holá Dezhen Shen Changfeng Wu Liang Song Chengbo Liu Radek Zbořil Songnan Qu 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:13
2Involvement of C2H2 zinc finger proteins in the regulation of epidermal cell fate determination in Arabidopsis显示文摘Cell fate determination is a basic developmental process during the growth of multicellular organisms.Trichomes and root hairs of Arabidopsis are both readily accessible structures originating from the epidermal cells of the aerial tissues and roots respectively, and they serve as excellent models for understanding the molecular mechanisms controlling cell fate determination and cell morphogenesis. The regulation of trichome and root hair formationis a complex program that consists of the integration of hormonal signals with a large number of transcriptional factors, including MYB and b HLH transcriptional factors.Studies during recent years have uncovered an important role of C2H2 type zinc finger proteins in the regulation of epidermal cell fate determination. 3Motility-based label-free detection of parasites in bodily fluids using holographic speckle analysis and deep learning显示文摘Parasitic infections constitute a major global public health issue.Existing screening methods that are based on manual microscopic examination often struggle to provide sufficient volumetric throughput and sensitivity to facilitate early diagnosis.Here,we demonstrate a motility-based label-free computational imaging platform to rapidly detect motile parasites in optically dense bodily fluids by utilizing the locomotion of the parasites as a specific biomarker and endogenous contrast mechanism.Based on this principle,a cost-effective and mobile instrument,which rapidly screens~3.2 mL of fluid sample in three dimensions,was built to automatically detect and count motile microorganisms using their holographic time-lapse speckle patterns.We demonstrate the capabilities of our platform by detecting trypanosomes,which are motile protozoan parasites,with various species that cause deadly diseases affecting millions of people worldwide.Using a holographic speckle analysis algorithm combined with deep learningbased classification,we demonstrate sensitive and label-free detection of trypanosomes within spiked whole blood and artificial cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)samples,achieving a limit of detection of ten trypanosomes per mL of whole blood(~five-fold better than the current state-of-the-art parasitological method)and three trypanosomes per mL of CSF.We further demonstrate that this platform can be applied to detect other motile parasites by imaging Trichomonas vaginalis,the causative agent of trichomoniasis,which affects 275 million people worldwide.With its costeffective,portable design and rapid screening time,this unique platform has the potential to be applied for sensitive and timely diagnosis of neglected tropical diseases caused by motile parasites and other parasitic infections in resource-limited regions.Yibo Zhang Hatice Ceylan Koydemir Michelle M.Shimogawa Sener Yalcin Alexander Guziak Tairan Liu Ilker Oguz Yujia Huang Bijie Bai Yilin Luo Yi Luo Zhensong Wei Hongda Wang Vittorio Bianco Bohan Zhang Rohan Nadkarni Kent Hill Aydogan Ozcan 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:6
4High efficient catalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural into 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid under benign conditions with nitrogen-doped graphene encapsulated Cu nanoparticles显示文摘Selective oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfual(HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA) as a bioplastics monomer is efficiently promoted by a simple system without noble-metal and base additives. In this work, graphene oxide(GO) was first synthesised by an electrochemical method with flexible graphite paper(FGP) as start carbon material, then, nitrogen-doped graphene(NG) layers encapsulated Cu nanoparticles(NPs) was prepared by one-step thermal treatment of GO supported Cu2+ in flowing NH3 atmosphere. Compared with NG supported Cu NPs prepared by the traditional impregnation method, enhanced catalytic activity was achieved over Cu/NG and an FDCA yield of 95.2% was achieved under mild reaction conditions with tert-butylhydroperoxide(t-BuOOH) as the oxidant. Control experiments with different catalysts and different addition procedure of t-BuOOH showed the yield of HMF and various intermediates during reaction. From the changing of intermediates concentrations and reaction rates, a reaction pathway through HMF-DFF-FFCA-FDCA was proposed. 6All in one theranostic nanoplatform enables efficient anti-tumor peptide I delivery for triple-modal imaging guided cancer therapy显示文摘Developing a reliable system to efficiently and safely deliver peptide drugs into tumor tissues still remains a great challenge since the instability of peptide drugs and low ability to traverse the cell membrane. Herein, we constructed a multifunctional nanoplatform based on porous europium/gadolinium (Eu/Gd)-doped NaLa(MoO4)2 nanoparticles (NLM NPs) to deliver antitumor peptide of B-cell lymphoma/leukemia-2-like protein 11 (BIM) for cancer therapy. The porous NLM NPs exhibited inherent photoluminescent, magnetic and X-ray absorbable properties, which enable them for triple-modal bioimaging, including fluorescence, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). This triple-modal bioimaging can contribute to monitoring NLM NPs biodistribution and guiding therapy in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, the NLM NPs showed negligible cytotoxicity in vitro and tissue toxicity in vivo. Importantly, NLM NPs could load the antitumor peptide of BIM and efficiently improve the resistance of peptide drugs to proteolysis. The BIM peptide was efficiently delivered into the tumor cells by NLM NPs, which can inhibit the growth and promote the apoptosis of cancer cells in vitro, significantly inhibit the tumor growth in vivo. Notably, NLM-BIM theranostic nanoplatform exhibits low systemic toxicity and fewer side effects in vivo. 16Improved conditional differential attacks on lightweight hash family QUARK显示文摘Nonlinear feedback shift register(NFSR)is one of the most important cryptographic primitives in lightweight cryptography.At ASIACRYPT 2010,Knellwolf et al.proposed conditional differential attack to perform a cryptanalysis on NFSR-based cryptosystems.The main idea of conditional differential attack is to restrain the propagation of the difference and obtain a detectable bias of the difference of the output bit.QUARK is a lightweight hash function family which is designed by Aumasson et al.at CHES 2010.Then the extended version of QUARK was published in Journal of Cryptology 2013.In this paper,we propose an improved conditional differential attack on QUARK.One improvement is that we propose a method to select the input difference.We could obtain a set of good input differences by this method.Another improvement is that we propose an automatic condition imposing algorithm to deal with the complicated conditions efficiently and easily.It is shown that with the improved conditional differential attack on QUARK,we can detect the bias of output difference at a higher round of QUARK.Compared to the current literature,we find a distinguisher of U-QUARK/D-QUARK/S-QUARK/C-QUARK up to 157/171/292/460 rounds with increasing 2/5/33/8 rounds respectively.We have performed the attacks on each instance of QUARK on a 3.30 GHz Intel Core i5 CPU,and all these attacks take practical complexities which have been fully verified by our experiments.As far as we know,all of these results have been the best thus far.Xiaojuan Lu Bohan Li Meicheng Liu Dongdai Lin 2022Cybersecurity2022,5,3:0
17Self-Assembled Porous-Reinforcement Microstructure-Based Flexible Triboelectric Patch for Remote Healthcare显示文摘Realizing real-time monitoring of physiological signals is vital for preventing and treating chronic diseases in elderly individuals. However,wearable sensors with low power consumption and high sensitivity to both weak physiological signals and large mechanical stimuli remain challenges.Here, a flexible triboelectric patch(FTEP) based on porous-reinforcement microstructures for remote health monitoring has been reported. The porousreinforcement microstructure is constructed by the self-assembly of silicone rubber adhering to the porous framework of the PU sponge. The mechanical properties of the FTEP can be regulated by the concentrations of silicone rubber dilution. For pressure sensing, its sensitivity can be effectively improved fivefold compared to the device with a solid dielectric layer, reaching 5.93 kPa^(-1) under a pressure range of 0–5 kPa. In addition, the FTEP has a wide detection range up to 50 kPa with a sensitivity of 0.21 kPa^(-1). The porous microstructure makes the FTEP ultra-sensitive to external pressure, and the reinforcements endow the device with a greater deformation limit in a wide detection range. 20Regulation of rhizosphere microenvironment by rice husk ash for reducing the accumulation of cadmium and arsenic in rice显示文摘It is important to reduce Cd and As content in brown rice in contaminated paddy soils.We conducted research on the effects of rice husk ash (RHA) on the Cd and As in the rhizosphere microenvironment (soil,porewater,and iron plaque) and measured the Cd,As,and Si content in rice plants.The main elements in RHA were Si (29.64%) and O (69.17%),which had the maximum adsorption capacity for Cd was 42.49 mg/kg and for As was 18.62 mg/kg.Soil pH and available Si content increased,while soil available Cd and As decreased following application of 0.5%–2%RHA.RHA promote the transformation of Cd to insoluble fraction,while As was transformed from a poorly soluble form to a more active one.RHA reduced Cd content and increased Si content in porewater,and reduced As only at the later rice growth stages.RHA increased the amount of iron plaque,thereby decreasing the Cd content in iron plaque,while increased the As content in it.Cd and inorganic As content in brown rice were decreased,to 0.31 mg/kg and 0.18 mg/kg,respectively.The decrease of Cd in brown rice was due to the decrease of Cd mobility in soil,thereby reducing root accumulation,while the decrease of As in brown rice was affected by the transport from roots to stems.Therefore,RHA can be considered as a safe and efficient in-situ remediation amendment for Cd and As co-contaminated paddy soil.Yi Jiang Ya Liu Xuantao Yi Peng Zeng Bohan Liao Hang Zhou Jiaofeng Gu 2024Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2:0
