| 4 | Current therapeutic modalities and chemopreventive role of natural products in liver cancer:Progress and promise显示文摘Liver cancer is a severe concern for public health officials since the clinical cases are increasing each year,with an estimated 5-year survival rate of 30%–35%after diagnosis.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)constitutes a significant subtype of liver cancer(approximate75%)and is considered primary liver cancer.Treatment for liver cancer mainly depends on the stage of its progression,where surgery including,hepatectomy and liver transplantation,and ablation and radiotherapy are the prime choice.For advanced liver cancer,various drugs and immunotherapy are used as first-line treatment,whereas second-line treatment includes chemotherapeutic drugs from natural and synthetic origins.Sorafenib and lenvatinib are first-line therapies,while regorafenib and ramucirumab are secondline therapy.Various metabolic and signaling pathways such as Notch,JAK/STAT,Hippo,TGF-β,and Wnt have played a critical role during HCC progression.Dysbiosis has also been implicated in liver cancer.Drug-induced toxicity is a key obstacle in the treatment of liver cancer,necessitating the development of effective and safe medications,with natural compounds such as resveratrol,curcumin,diallyl sulfide,and others emerging as promising anticancer agents.This review highlights the current status of liver cancer research,signaling pathways,therapeutic targets,current treatment strategies and the chemopreventive role of various natural products in managing liver cancer. | Amit Kumar Singh Shiv Vardan Singh Ramesh Kumar Shashank Kumar Sabyasachi Senapati Abhay K Pandey | 2023 | World Journal of Hepatology2023,15,1: | 1 |

| 9 | Effects of urea,metal ions and surfactants on the binding of baicalein with bovine serum albumin显示文摘The interaction of baicalein with bovine serum albumin(BSA) was investigated with the help of spectroscopic and molecular docking studies.The binding affinity of baicalein towards BSA was estimated to be in order of 10~5 M^(-1) from fluorescence quenching studies.Negative ΔH°(-5.66 + 0.14 kJ/mol) and positive(ΔS°)(+ 79.96 + 0.65J/mol K) indicate the presence of electrostatic interactions along with the hydrophobic forces that result in a positive ΔS°.The hydrophobic association of baicalein with BSA diminishes in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) due to probable hydrophobic association of baicalein with SDS,resulting in a negative ΔS°(-40.65 + 0.87 J/mol K).Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization/time of flight(MALDI-TOF) experiments indicate a 1:1 complexation between baicalein and BSA.The unfolding and refolding phenomena of BSA were investigated in the absence and presence of baicalein using steady-state and fluorescence lifetime measurements.It was observed that the presence of urea ruptured the non-covalent interaction between baicalein and BSA.The presence of metal ions(Ag^+,Mg^(2+),Ni^(2+),Mn^(2+),Co^(2+) and Zn^(2+)) increased the binding affinity of ligand towards BSA.The changes in conformational aspects of BSA after ligand binding were also investigated using circular dichroism(CD) and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopic techniques.Site selectivity studies following molecular docking analyses indicated the binding of baicalein to site 1(subdomain MA) of BSA. | Atanu Singha Roy Amit Kumar Dinda Nitin Kumar Pandey Swagata Dasgupta | 2016 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2016,6,4: | 1 |
| 10 | Remote Sensing approach to evaluate anthropogenic influences on Forest Cover of Palamau Tiger Reserve,Eastern India显示文摘Background:Tropical forests have been experiencing remarkable rates of transformation over the past century as they are getting degraded or decimated to a great extent by anthropogenic activities.This study aims at investigating the long-term forest cover transformation in Palamau Tiger Reserve(PTR),Jharkhand,India,using Landsat TM,ETM+,and OLI satellite images during 1975-2015.The forest cover was delineated utilizing various keys of visual interpretation techniques.Results:The forest cover was primarily decreased in the north-eastern and north-western parts in PTR.In order to identify the anthropogenic disturbance in the forest reserve,human settlement density was mapped using highresolution Google Earth imagery.The results showed a positive correlation between human population density and settlement density.Five major affected sites with an outer buffer of 2 km were demarcated in order to deduce the anthropogenic influences in major non-forested sites in PTR.It was observed that the forest change was maximum at site 3(Ranidah,area 61.06 km^(2),−6.47%change)followed by site 2(Saidup,area 124.38 km^(2),−7.65%change),where settlement units were also high(2638 and 2621 settlement units,respectively).At site 1(Barkheta,area 81.59 km^(2)),−1.99%change was observed,and at site 4(Samadh Tola,area 9.15 km^(2)),1.03% change was observed having moderate settlement units(2422 and 1892 settlement units,respectively).Areas with the low level of human settlements(1038 settlement units)observed the least change,i.e.,at site 5(Netarhat,area 48.52 km^(2)),0.58%change was observed mainly during the years.Conclusions:The forest cover exhibited an overall decrease of 14.55 km^(2)(−1.34%change)with episodic variation during 1975-2015 in PTR,Eastern India.A significant forest disturbance occurred primarily in the north-eastern and north-western parts of PTR along the forest fringe due to the high population and settlement density.The study highlighted the potential use of freely available multi-temporal satellite observations in forest management. | Binita Kumari Arvind Chandra Pandey Amit Kumar | 2020 | Ecological Processes2020,9,1: | 0 |
| 11 | Insight into the relationship between non-linear mixed convection and thermal radiation:The case of Newtonian fluid flow due to non-linear stretching显示文摘The current research focuses the light on the characterization of buoyancy-driven non-linear mixed convection and non-linear radiation in a Newtonian flow over a nonlinearly stretching vertical sheet,and this type of flow has useful applications in many industrial processes,such as the paper and pulp industry,polymer industry,electronic device cooling,solar collectors,gas turbine plants,and nuclear power.Using appropriate transformations,governing PDEs for non-linear mixed convection are reduced to higher-order non-linear ODEs and those are numerically solved.Along with tabular presentations of computed results,the graphical representations are generated to elucidate the effects of involved parameters on convection transport properties and their inter-relations.It demonstrates that flow velocity increases near the surface and decreases away from the surface as the non-linear convection parameter increases.Furthermore,increments in the thermal buoyancy,temperature ratio and non-linear radiation parameters result in the boost of velocity.The temperature decreases as linear and non-linear buoyancy-related parameters(non-linear convection and thermal buoyancy parameters)are of higher levels.In contrast,the temperature rises with two non-linear thermal radiation-related parameters(thermal ratio and non-linear radiation parameters).For greater values of the non-linear stretching related parameter,a lower velocity and a higher temperature are witnessed.The non-linear convection,thermal buoyancy,thermal ratio and non-linear radiation parameters contribute toward the reduction of the magnitude of surface-drag force and growth of the surface cooling rate.But,with the non-linearity in surface stretching there are significant percentage hikes of surface-drag force magnitude and surface cooling rate. | Amit Kumar Pandey Krishnendu Bhattacharyya Anil Kumar Gautam Sohita Rajput Mani Shankar Mandal Ali J.Chamkha Dhananjay Yadav | 2023 | Propulsion and Power Research2023,12,1: | 0 |
| 12 | The Curation of Genetic Variants: Difficulties and Possible Solutions显示文摘The curation of genetic variants from biomedical articles is required for various clinical and research purposes. Nowadays, establishment of variant databases that include overall information about variants is becoming quite popular. These databases have immense utility, serving as a user-friendly information storehouse of variants for information seekers. While manual curation is the gold standard method for curation of variants, it can turn out to be time-consuming on a large scale thus necessitating the need for automation. Curation of variants described in biomedical literature may not be straightforward mainly due to various nomenclature and expression issues. Though current trends in paper writing on variants is inclined to the standard nomenclature such that variants can easily be retrieved, we have a massive store of variants in the literature that are present as non-standard names and the online search engines that are predominantly used may not be capable of finding them. For effective curation of variants, knowledge about the overall process of curation, nature and types of difficulties in curation, and ways to tackle the difficulties during the task are crucial. Only by effective curation, can variants be correctly interpreted. This paper presents the process and difficulties of curation of genetic variants with possible solutions and suggestions from our work experience in the field including literature support.
