| 1 | A method to estimate concentrations of surface-level particulate matter using satellite-based aerosol optical thickness显示文摘We propose a new method to estimate surface-level particulate matter(PM)concentrations by using satellite-retrieved Aerosol Optical Thickness(AOT).This method considers the distribution and variation of Planetary Boundary Layer(PBL)height and relative humidity(RH)at the regional scale.The method estimates surface-level particulate matter concentrations using the data simulated by an atmospheric boundary layer model RAMS and satellite-retrieved AOT.By incorporation MODIS AOT,PBL height and RH simulated by RAMS,this method is applied to estimate the surface-level PM 2.5 concentrations in North China region.The result is evaluated by using 16 ground-based observations deployed in the research region,and the result shows a good agreement between estimated PM 2.5 concentrations and observations,and the coefficient of determination R2 is 0.61 between the estimated PM 2.5 concentrations and the observations.In addition,surface-level PM 2.5 concentrations are also estimated by using MODIS AOT,ground-based LIDAR observations and RH measurements.A comparison between the two estimated PM 2.5 concentrations shows that the new method proposed in this paper is better than the traditional method.The coefficient of determination R2 is improved from 0.32 to 0.62. | TAO JinHua ZHANG MeiGen CHEN LiangFu WANG ZiFeng SU Lin GE Cui HAN Xiao ZOU MingMin | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,8: | 20 |

| 4 | THEORETICAL MODEL ON INTERFACE FAILURE MECHANISM OF REINFORCED CONCRETE CONTINUOUS BEAM STRENGTHENED BY FRP显示文摘Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites are increasingly being used for the re-pair and strengthening of deteriorated concrete structural components through adhesive bonding of prefabricated strips/plates and the wet lay-up of fabric. Interfacial bond failure modes have attracted the attention of researchers because of the importance. The objective of the present study is to analyse the interface failure mechanism of reinforced concrete continuous beam strength-ened by FRP. An analytical solution has been firstly presented to predict the entire debonding process of the model. The realistic bi-linear bond-slip interfacial law was adopted to study this problem. The crack propagation process of the loaded model was divided into four stages (elastic,elastic-softening,elastic-softening-debonded and softening-debonded stage). Among them,elastic-softening-debonded stage has four sub-stages. The equations are solved by adding suitable stress and displacement boundary conditions. Finally,critical value of bond length is determined to make the failure mechanism in the paper effective by solving the simultaneously linear algebraic equations. | 5 | Efficient CO_2 capture on low-cost silica gel modified by polyethyleneimine显示文摘In this work,a series of polyethyleneimine(PEI) functionalized commercial silica gel were prepared by wet impregnation method and used as CO 2 sorbent.The as-prepared sorbents were characterized by N 2 adsorption,FT-IR and SEM techniques.CO 2 capture was tested in a fixed bed reactor using a simulated flue gas containing 15.1% CO 2 in a temperature range of 25-100 C.The effects of sorption temperature and amine content on CO 2 uptake of the adsorbents were investigated.The silica gel with a 30 wt% PEI loading manifested the largest CO 2 uptake of 93.4 mg CO 2 /g adsorbent(equal to 311.3 mg CO 2 /g PEI) among the tested sorbents under the conditions of 15.1%(v/v) CO 2 in N 2 at 75 C and atmospheric pressure.Moreover,it was rather low-cost.In addition,the PEI-impregnated silica gel exhibited stable adsorption-desorption behavior during 5 consecutive test cycles.These results suggest that the PEI-impregnated silica gel is a promising and cost-effective sorbent for CO 2 capture from flue gas and other stationary sources with low CO 2 concentration. | Ke Wang Hongyan Shang Lin Li Xinlong Yan Zifeng Yan Chenguang Liu Qingfang Zha | 2012 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,3: | 4 |

| 12 | Fabrication and Characterization of 3D Graded PDMS Scaffolds Using Vacuum-Assisted Resin Transfer Moulding显示文摘Graded porous scaffold can be applied to study the interactions between cells and scaffold with different pore sizes. Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) scaffold with an axial pore size grade was successfully manufactured via vacuum-assisted resin transfer moulding(VARTM) and particle leaching technologies. The properties of graded PDMS scaffolds, including porosity, water absorption, interconnectivity, compression modulus, as well as compression strength were investigated. The results showed that the smaller the size of the NaCl particles is, the higher the porosity and water absorption of graded PDMS scaffolds would be. The graded PDMS scaffold fabricated had a compressive modulus and a compressive strength of 19.69±1.42 kPa and 4.76±0.22 kPa, respectively. Moreover, the graded chitosan(CS)-coated PDMS scaffolds were prepared by using dip-coating technique under low vacuum and their hydrophilicity was examined. | 17 | Lithium storage properties of Ti3C_(2)Tx(Tx= F,Cl,Br) MXenes显示文摘In this work, Ti3C_(2)TxMXene with-F,-Cl and-Br surface terminations are synthesized and the effect of these halogen terminations on the lithium storage properties is investigated. A maximum Li+storage capacity of 189 m Ah/g is achieved with Ti3C_(2)BrxMXene much higher than Ti3C_(2)Clxand Ti3C_(2)Fxwith 138 m Ah/g and 123 m Ah/g, respectively. Density functional theory(DFT) calculation shows that the adsorption formation energy of halogen atoms on Ti atoms follows the trend of Ti-F > Ti-Cl > Ti-Br, leading to the same trend in the content of terminations on corresponding MXenes. In addition, inevitable exposure of MXene to oxygen causes competition between halogen and oxygen. Theoretical results show Ti3C_(2)BrxMXene has the highest Ti to O ratio and the lowest Ti to Br ratio, the high lithium affinity of O explains the maximum Li-ion storage capacity with Ti3C_(2)BrxMXene. | 20 | Effects of the ambient fine particulate matter(PM2.5) exposure on urinary metabolic profiles in rats using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS显示文摘In order to study the damage of ambient fine particulate matter(PM2.5) to organism in the environment,the method of urinary metabolomics was used to detect the potential endogenous metabolites and their related metabolic pathways to clarify the toxicity mechanisms. Particles of PM2.5 collected from the fibrous membrane were extracted ultrasonically and dissolved in physiological saline to prepare PM2.5 suspension. The solution of saline and fine particular matter was injected into the trachea of rats respectively. The rats were injected two times a week for four weeks. Samples of 24-h urine were collected at the 14 th day after the end of exposure, and the ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) was used for the metabolomics detection. Principal component analysis(PCA) was used to investigate the global metabolomic alterations and a clear separation in the scatter diagram were observed. 17 potential endogenous metablites were identified from urinary samples in rats by UPLC-Q-TOF-MS.
