| 1 | Intestinal lysozyme liberates Nod1 ligands from microbes to direct insulin trafficking in pancreatic beta cells显示文摘Long-range communication between intestinal symbiotic bacteria and extra-intestinal organs can occur through circulating bacterial signal molecules, through neural circuits, or through cytokines or hormones from host cells. Here we report that Nod1 ligands derived from intestinal bacteria act as signal molecules and directly modulate insulin trafficking in pancreatic beta cells. The cytosolic peptidoglycan receptor Nod1 and its downstream adapter Rip2 are required for insulin trafficking in beta cells in a cell-autonomous manner. Mechanistically, upon recognizing cognate ligands, Nod1 and Rip2 localize to insulin vesicles, recruiting Rab1a to direct insulin trafficking through the cytoplasm. Importantly, intestinal lysozyme liberates Nod1 ligands into the circulation, thus enabling long-range communication between intestinal microbes and islets. The intestine-islet crosstalk bridged by Nod1 ligands modulates host glucose tolerance. | 2 | Heavy Oil and Oil Sands:Global Distribution and Resource Assessment显示文摘Global recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands have been assessed by CNPC using a geology-based assessment method combined with the traditional volumetric method, spatial interpolation method, parametric-probability method etc. The most favourable areas for exploration have been selected in accordance with a comprehensive scoring system. The results show:(1) For geological resources, CNPC estimate 991.18 billion tonnes of heavy oil and 501.26 billion tonnes of oil sands globally, of which technically recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands comprise 126.74 billion tonnes and 64.13 billion tonnes respectively. More than 80% of the resources occur within Tertiary and Cretaceous reservoirs distributed across 69 heavy oil basins and 32 oil sands basins. 99% of recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands occur within foreland basins, passive continental-margin basins and cratonic basins.(2) Since residual hydrocarbon resources remain following large-scale hydrocarbon migration and destruction, heavy oil and oil sands are characterized most commonly by late hydrocarbon accumulation, the same basin types and source-reservoir conditions as for conventional hydrocarbon resources, shallow burial depth and stratabound reservoirs.(3) Three accumulation models are recognised, depending on basin type: degradation along slope; destruction by uplift; and migration along faults.(4) In addition to mature exploration regions such as Canada and Venezuela, the Volga-Ural Basin and the Pre-Caspian Basin are less well-explored and have good potential for oil-sand discoveries, and it is predicted that the Middle East will be an important region for heavy oil development. | LIU Zuodong WANG Hongjun Graham BLACKBOURN MA Feng HE Zhengjun WEN Zhixing WANG Zhaoming YANG Zi LUAN Tiansi WU Zhenzhen | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,1: | 9 |

| 6 | Using electrotopological state indices to model the depuration rates of polychlorinated biphenyls in mussels of Elliptio complanata显示文摘A quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR) model on depuration rate constants(kd) of polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) in freshwater mussel Elliptio complanata was successfully constructed using electrotopological state indices(ESI) and partial least squares(PLS) regression.The cross validated Q2 cum and the correlation coeffcient R for the model were determined to be 0.845 and 0.954,respectively.The satisfactory Q2 cum and R values indicated significantly high robustness and good predictive ability for the model. | 8 | Effect of electromagnetic stirring on the microstructure and wear behavior of iron-based composite coatings显示文摘The effect of electromagnetic stirring on the microstructure and wear behavior of coatings has been investigated. A series of iron-based coatings were fabricated by the plasma-transferred arc cladding process by applying different magnetic field currents. The microstructure and wear resistance of the composite coatings were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and wet sand rubber wheel abrasion tester. The experimental re- sults showed that the microstructure of the coatings was mainly the γ-Fe matrix and (Cr, Fe)7C3 carbide reinforced phase. The coatings were metallurgically bonded to the substrate. With increasing magnetic field current, the amount of the block-like (Cr, Fe)7C3 carbide reinforced phase increased at first, reached a local maximum, and then decreased sharply. | 9 | Origin and Source of Deep Natural Gas in Nanpu sag, Bohai Bay Basin, China显示文摘Natural gas exploration in Nanpu sag, Bohai Bay Basin, has achieved breakthroughs in recent years, and a number of natural gas and condensate wells with high yield have been found in several structures in the beach area. Daily gas production of single wells is up to 170,000 m3, and high-yield wells are mainly distributed in?the Nanpu No. 1 structural belt.?Studies have shown that these natural gases are mainly hydrocarbon gases, with methane content about 80% to 90% and ethane 6%-9%, so they are mainly wet gas; and non-hydrocarbons are at a low level.?Carbon isotopes of methane range from -42‰ to -36‰, and ethane from -28‰ to -26‰. Calculated maturity based on the relationship between δ13C and Ro of natural gas, the gases are equivalent to those generated from organic matter when Ro is 1.0%-1.7% (mainly 1.25%-1.32%). The natural gas is oil-type gas generated from the source rocks at mature to high mature stage, associated with condensate, so carbon isotopes of the gases are heavier. Natural gas in the Nanpu No.1 structural belt is mainly associated gas with condensate. The analysis of the origin and source of natural gas and condensate, combined with the monomer hydrocarbon carbon isotopes and biomarker, indicated that the main source rocks in the Nanpu No.1 structural belt were Es3 (the lower member of the Shahejie Formation), followed by Es1 (the upper member of the Shahejie Formation).?The high-mature hydrocarbons from source rocks in the deep sag mainly migrated through deep inherited faults into shallow traps and accumulated to form oil and gas pools. | 10 | Classification of CBERS-2 Imagery with Fuzzy ARTMAP Classifier显示文摘A fuzzy ARTMAP classifier is adopted for a classification experiment of CBERS-2 imagery. The fundamental theory and processing about the algorithm are first introduced, followed with a land-use classification experiment in Shihezi County on CBERS-2 high resolution imagery. Three classifiers are compared: maximum likelihood classifier (MLC), error back propagation (BP) classifier, and fuzzy ARTMAP classifier. The comparison shows comparably better results for the fuzzy ARTMAP classifier, with overall classification accuracy of 9.9% and 4.6% higher than that of MLC and BP. | 12 | 3D dynamic motion of a dielectric micro-sphere within optical tweezers显示文摘Known as laser trapping,optical tweezers,with nanometer accuracy and pico-newton precision,plays a pivotal role in single bio-molecule measurements and controllable motions of micro-machines.In order to advance the flourishing applications for those achievements,it is necessary to make clear the three-dimensional dynamic process of micro-particles stepping into an optical field.In this paper,we utilize the ray optics method to calculate the optical force and optical torque of a micro-sphere in optical tweezers.With the influence of viscosity force and torque taken into account,we numerically solve and analyze the dynamic process of a dielectric micro-sphere in optical tweezers on the basis of Newton mechanical equations under various conditions of initial positions and velocity vectors of the particle.The particle trajectory over time can demonstrate whether the particle can be successfully trapped into the optical tweezers center and reveal the subtle details of this trapping process.Even in a simple pair of optical tweezers,the dielectric micro-sphere exhibits abundant phases of mechanical motions including acceleration,deceleration,and turning.These studies will be of great help to understand the particle-laser trap interaction in various situations and promote exciting possibilities for exploring novel ways to control the mechanical dynamics of microscale particles. | Jing Liu Mian Zheng Zhengjun Xiong Zhiyuan Li | 2021 | Opto-Electronic Advances2021,4,1: | 2 |
