| 1 | The Late Mesozoic Orogenic Processes of Mongolia-Okhotsk Orogen: Evidence from Field Investigations into Deformation of the Mohe Area, NE China显示文摘Based on field investigation in 1999, two deformational domains with d ifferent dynamics have been distinguished from the Jurassic geological outcrops in the Mohe area of NE China, i.e. northern ductile and southern plastic-brittl e ones. Their deformational features are stated in this paper. | 2 | Heavy Oil and Oil Sands:Global Distribution and Resource Assessment显示文摘Global recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands have been assessed by CNPC using a geology-based assessment method combined with the traditional volumetric method, spatial interpolation method, parametric-probability method etc. The most favourable areas for exploration have been selected in accordance with a comprehensive scoring system. The results show:(1) For geological resources, CNPC estimate 991.18 billion tonnes of heavy oil and 501.26 billion tonnes of oil sands globally, of which technically recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands comprise 126.74 billion tonnes and 64.13 billion tonnes respectively. More than 80% of the resources occur within Tertiary and Cretaceous reservoirs distributed across 69 heavy oil basins and 32 oil sands basins. 99% of recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands occur within foreland basins, passive continental-margin basins and cratonic basins.(2) Since residual hydrocarbon resources remain following large-scale hydrocarbon migration and destruction, heavy oil and oil sands are characterized most commonly by late hydrocarbon accumulation, the same basin types and source-reservoir conditions as for conventional hydrocarbon resources, shallow burial depth and stratabound reservoirs.(3) Three accumulation models are recognised, depending on basin type: degradation along slope; destruction by uplift; and migration along faults.(4) In addition to mature exploration regions such as Canada and Venezuela, the Volga-Ural Basin and the Pre-Caspian Basin are less well-explored and have good potential for oil-sand discoveries, and it is predicted that the Middle East will be an important region for heavy oil development. | LIU Zuodong WANG Hongjun Graham BLACKBOURN MA Feng HE Zhengjun WEN Zhixing WANG Zhaoming YANG Zi LUAN Tiansi WU Zhenzhen | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,1: | 9 |

| 5 | Mating Ethogram of a Video-aided Study of Mating and Parturition in Captive Chinese Crocodile Lizards (Shinisaurus crocodilurus)显示文摘Mating behavior and parturition are important components in the life history of any species. The endangered Chinese crocodile lizard(Shinisaurus crocodilurus) is suffering dramatic population decreases in the wild. Successful captive breeding can provide individuals to be reintroduced into their natural habitat and help to restore the wild populations. Studying the mating behavior and parturition of these lizards in captivity will enable us understand how is this ancient species reproduction and optimize artificial reproduction protocol. We studied the mating behavior and parturition of Chinese crocodile lizards in captivity using video recordings at the Daguishan National Nature Reserve, China, from 2015 to 2017. We analyzed pre-copulation and copulation, which occurred in mid-March to late May from all studied years. Pre-copulation and copulation lasted on average 7.51(n=11) and 27.45(n=11) minutes, respectively. We found that large-bodied male lizards have longer copulation periods, a pattern seen in other lizard species. In the mating event, males always initiated sex, while the females were passive. The duration of parturition lasted 153.8 ± 26.8(n=46) minutes, and larger females had heavier clutches. | 6 | Analysis of the world deepwater oil and gas exploration situation显示文摘The global trends in deepwater oil and gas exploration,characteristics of deepwater oil and gas discovery,and layout of deepwater oil and gas exploration business by seven major international oil companies are systematically analyzed using commercial databases(e.g.S&P Global and Rystad)and public information of oil companies.The deepwater area is currently the most important domain for global oil and gas exploration and discovery,with the most discoveries and reserves in passive continental margin basins.The deepwater discoveries have the greatest contribution to the total newly discovered oil and gas reserves in the sea areas,with an increasing number of lithological reservoirs discovered,and oil and gas discoveries mainly distributed in the Mesozoic–Cenozoic.The seven major international oil companies are widely active in various aspects of deepwater oil and gas exploration and development,and play a leading role.Based on years of theoretical understanding of global oil and gas geology and resource evaluation,it is proposed that favorable deepwater exploration areas in the future will mainly focus on three major areas:the Atlantic coast,the Indian Ocean periphery,and the Arctic Ocean periphery.Six suggestions are put forward for expanding overseas deepwater oil and gas exploration business:first,expand the sources for obtaining multi-user seismic data and improve the scientific selection of deepwater exploration areas;second,increase efforts to obtain deepwater exploration projects in key areas;third,adopt various methods to access into/exit from resource licenses flexibly;fourth,acquire licenses with large equity and operate in“dual-exploration”model;fifth,strengthen cooperation with leading international oil companies in deepwater technology;and sixth,improve business operation capabilities and gradually transform from“non-operators”to“operators”. | WEN Zhixin WANG Jianjun WANG Zhaoming HE Zhengjun SONG Chengpeng LIU Xiaobing ZHANG Ningning JI Tianyu | 2023 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2023,50,5: | 0 |
| 7 | Build-ups and hydrocarbon accumulation of the isolated carbonate platforms in the eastern Mediterranean显示文摘Based on regional geology,2D seismic and ocean drilling data,the formation of the Eratosthenes Seamount(ESM)and its surrounding isolated platforms,types of organic reefs and hydrocarbon accumulation conditions in the eastern Mediterranean were analyzed through fine tectonic interpretation and seismic facies study,and the future exploration targets were pointed out.The formation and evolution of the ESM and its peripheral isolated platforms are highly related to the open and close of the Neotethyan ocean.The precursors of the ESM and its peripheral isolated platforms are both horst-type fault blocks formed in the Middle Triassic-Early Jurassic intracontinental rift stage.The ESM and its peripheral isolated platforms underwent continued and inherited carbonate build-ups during the Middle Jurassic intercontinental rift stage,the Late Jurassic-Late Cretaceous Turonian passive drift stage,and Late Cretaceous Senonian-Miocene subduction stage,as well as medium-slight inversion transformation beginning in the Late Miocene Messinian caused by the closure of the Neotethyan ocean.Three types of isolated platforms formed controlled by variant paleo-tectonic settings:the first type is composed of a single patch-like reef controlled by a small-scale and narrow horst-type fault block,the second type consists of a single atoll controlled by a middle-scale and wide horst-type fault block,and the third type is comprised of multiple reef-beach complexes controlled by a large-scale and broad paleo-high.The first two types universally developed in the highs of the alternate sag-uplift structural zones on the south and west of Eratosthenes,and the third type only developed in the ESM.As a result of fluctuation of sea level,two sequences of reef build-ups,i.e.the Middle Jurassic Bajocian-Upper Cretaceous Turonian and the Miocene,developed in the ESM as well as the highs in the alternate sag-uplift structural zones on the south and west of Eratosthenes.Drillings have confirmed that the first two types of isolated platforms with a single patch-like reef and a single circle-like reef have good conditions for natural gas accumulations.The isolated platform of reef-beach complexes in the ESM also has accumulation potentials of natural gas and is worth prospecting. | WEN Zhixin TONG Xiaoguang GAO Huahua WANG Zhaoming CHEN Ruiyin SONG Chengpeng HE Zhengjun LIU Zuodong KANG Hailiang | 2021 | Petroleum Exploration and Development2021,48,2: | 0 |

| 10 | Film mulching treatment inf luences dry matter and yield of oil flax in semi-arid area of China显示文摘A field study was set up to compare dry matter accumulation and grain yield of 3 different types of film mulching, namely FFC(full film muched on tiny ridges covered with soil), PFC(full film muched covered with soil), and PF(full film muched with no cover). The experiment was laid out in a complete random design with 3 replications at northwest(34°40′N, 105°06′E) of China. This study determined that(1) film mulching treatment increased leaf area and dry matter accumulation of oil flax in semi-arid areas;(2) accumulation of dry matter under PFC treatment was markedly higher than other treatments except anthesis stage;(3) average grain yield of oil flax under film mulching treatment was 52.67%-60.33% higher than flat plot without mulched or ridge(CK) treatment;(4) grain yield of oil flax was substantially correlated with plant height, grain number and 1,000 kernels weight. | 11 | Analysis of the world oil and gas exploration situation in 2021显示文摘The global exploration investment, new oil and gas discoveries, exploration business adjustment strategies of oil companies in 2021, and future favorable exploration domains are systematically analyzed using commercial databases such as IHS and public information of oil companies. It has been found that the world oil and gas exploration situation in 2021 has continued the downturn since the outbreak of COVID-19. The investment and drilling workload decreased slightly, but the success rate of exploration wells, especially deepwater exploration wells, increased significantly, and the newly discovered reserves increased slightly compared with last year. Deep waters of the passive continental margin basins are still the leading sites for discovering conventional large and medium-sized oil and gas fields. The conventional oil and gas exploration in deep formations of onshore petroliferous basins has been keeping a good state, with tight/shale oil and gas discoveries made in Saudi Arabia, Russia, and other countries. While strengthening the exploration and development of local resources, national, international, and independent oil companies have been focusing on major overseas frontiers using their advantages, including risk exploration in deep waters and natural gas. Future favorable exploration directions in the three major frontiers, the global deep waters, deep onshore formations, and unconventional resources, have been clarified.
