| 1 | Salivary proteins and microbiota as biomarkers for early childhood caries risk assessment显示文摘Early childhood caries(ECC) is a term used to describe dental caries in children aged 6 years or younger. Oral streptococci, such as Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sorbrinus, are considered to be the main etiological agents of tooth decay in children. Other bacteria, such as Prevotella spp. and Lactobacillus spp., and fungus, that is, Candida albicans, are related to the development and progression of ECC. Biomolecules in saliva, mainly proteins, affect the survival of oral microorganisms by multiple innate defensive mechanisms, thus modulating the oral microflora. Therefore, the protein composition of saliva can be a sensitive indicator for dental health. Resistance or susceptibility to caries may be significantly correlated with alterations in salivary protein components. Some oral microorganisms and saliva proteins may serve as useful biomarkers in predicting the risk and prognosis of caries. Current research has generated abundant information that contributes to a better understanding of the roles of microorganisms and salivary proteins in ECC occurrence and prevention. This review summarizes the microorganisms that cause caries and tooth-protective salivary proteins with their potential as functional biomarkers for ECC risk assessment. | 2 | Common dental diseases in children and malocclusion显示文摘Malocclusion is a worldwide dental problem that influences the affected individuals to varying degrees. Many factors contribute to the anomaly in dentition, including hereditary and environmental aspects. Dental caries, pulpal and periapical lesions, dental trauma, abnormality of development, and oral habits are most common dental diseases in children that strongly relate to malocclusion. Management of oral health in the early childhood stage is carried out in clinic work of pediatric dentistry to minimize the unwanted effect of these diseases on dentition. This article highlights these diseases and their impacts on malocclusion in sequence. | 3 | Enteral nutrition in treatment of severe acute pancreatitis显示文摘Objective: To observe the role and the timing of EN inthe treatment of patients with severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods: Eleven patients with severe acute pancreatitisunderwent systemic nutrition support were studied.EN was given through jejunostomy tube (or Beng-mark tube) after a period of PN maintenance. ENstarted when serum and urine amylase activity re-turned to normal with regular peristaltic sound, defe-cation or break wind. The sequence of preparationwas as follows: saline glucose→chemically defined di-et→polymeric diet→normal diet.Results: In all the patients, none died. The rate of latecomplications was lower, and the levels of serum albu-min and transferritin significantly increased in thepost-EN period as compared with the pre-EN period,although the count of lymphocytes was less changed.Conclusions: Nutritional support should be trans-formed from PN to EN as early as possible during thetreatment of patients with severe acute pancreatitis. | 5 | Thermodynamic Analysis of Desulfurization and Its Connection With Deoxidation and Temperature for SPHC in JISC During LF Refining Process显示文摘The thermodynamic characteristics of desulfurization reaction (CaO)+[S]=(CaS)+[O] is analyzed based on the detailed composition of liquid steel and slag of Steel Plate Hot Commercial (SPHC) in Jiuquan Iron & Steel Corporation(JISC), where the activities of CaO, CaS and Al2O3 in molten slag are calculated by thermodynamic software FactSage for a more accurate result. The critical values of [O%]/[S%] for desulfurization at different temperature is are obtained, typically 0.09 at 1873K, which shows directly that it should deoxidize adequately for obtaining a favorable desulfurization condition. In addition, the thermodynamic analysis indicates that the actual dissolved O is much higher than that of equilibrium calculation which shows Al-O reaction in LF is far away from equilibrium, but it is perfect agreement with the computing results when taking the activity of Al2O3 as 1 that due to the inclusion component in LF is mainly Al2O3. Besides, with the temperature rise, the sulfur partition ratio increases softly meanwhile the reaction between Al and O is limited to a great degree resulting in the increase a dissolved oxygen in liquid steel that decreases the sulfur partition ratio seriously. | 9 | Evaluation of ventilation performance and energy efficiency of greenhouse fans显示文摘In order to investigate fan performance in fan-ventilated greenhouses(Urbana,USA),the effects of guard screen and loose belts on fan ventilation airflow and power consumption in greenhouse operations were examined with four belt-driven fans as trial subjects.The Fans Assessment Numeration System was used to measure the airflow rate.Temperature,relative humidity and power consumption were also monitored.Results show there were significant differences in the airflow rate between the fans with a cleaned and uncleaned guard screen(P<0.05).Power consumption also differed significantly even with the same cooling effect in greenhouse.When fan belts were adjusted to the proper tension,the fan speed and airflow rate were 13.1% and 30.1% higher than those of original belts,respectively.The daily average power consumption for the fan with the original loose belts was 20.4% higher than that with the adjusted belts when the pad was not working and 24.2% higher with pad working.The ventilation performance of fans with identical specifications showed a variation by up to 13.0% in terms of the ventilating efficiency ratio.These results demonstrated that fans should be cleaned routinely,and belt tension should be checked to ensure that fan performance meets specifications.This can reduce the power consumption in greenhouses for environmental control.Moreover,reordering fan staging,so that the most efficient fans are used in areas of greatest demand,can also reduce ventilation energy costs. | Zhang Zhi Richard S Gates Zou Zhirong Hu Xiaohui | 2015 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2015，8，1： | 2 |
