2The effect of environmental factors on spatial variability in land use change in the high-sediment region of China's Loess Plateau显示文摘In areas with topographic heterogeneity, land use change is spatially variable and influenced by climate, soil properties, and topography. To better understand this variability in the high-sediment region of the Loess Plateau in which soil loss is most severe and sediment diameter is larger than in other regions of the plateau, this study builds some indicators to identify the characteristics of land use change and then analyze the spatial variability as it is affected by climate, soil property, and topography. We build two indicators, a land use change intensity index and a vegetation change index, to characterize the intensity of land use change, and the degree of vegetation restoration, respectively. Based on a subsection mean method, the two indicators are then used to assess the spatial variability of land use change affected by climatic, edaphic, and topographic elements. The results indicate that: 1) Land use changed significantly in the period 1998–2010. The total area experiencing land use change was 42,302 km2, accounting for 22.57%of the study area. High-coverage grassland, other woodland, and forest increased significantly, while low-coverage grassland and farmland decreased in 2010 compared with 1998. 2) Land use change occurred primarily west of the Yellow River, between 35 and 38 degrees north latitude. The four transformation types, including(a) low-coverage grassland to medium-coverage grassland,(b) medium-coverage grassland to high-coverage grassland,(c) farmland to other woodland, and(d) farmland to medium-coverage grassland, were the primary types of land use change, together constituting 60% of the area experiencing land use change. 3) The spatial variability of land use change was significantly affected by properties of dryness/wetness, soil conditions and slope gradient. In general, land use changed dramatically in semi-arid regions, remained relativelystable in arid regions, changed significantly in clay-rich soil, remained relatively stable in clay-poor soil, changed dramatically in steeper slopes, and remained relatively stable in tablelands and low-lying regions. The increase in vegetation coincided with increasing changes in land use for each physical element. 3The foxtail millet Si69 gene is a Wali7 (wheat aluminum-induced protein 7) homologue and may function in aluminum tolerance显示文摘We isolated a clone, named Si69, from a foxtail millet immature seed cDNA library. The protein encoded by Si69 contains a conserved Wali7 (wheat aluminum induced protein 7) domain and shares high-level homology with aluminum-induced proteins from other species including rice and Arabidopsis. The Si69 gene presents as a single locus in foxtail millet genome and is globally expressed in all tissues examined. Its expression is up-regulated by aluminum. The sequence feature and expression pattern suggest that the Si69 gene is involved in aluminum tolerance or detoxification. To confirm its biological functions, Si69 controlled by the CaMV35S promoter was introduced into Arabidopsis. Transgenic plants did not show any visible morphological changes compared to wild-type plants under normal growth conditions. However, when treated with 20 or 50 μmol/L Aluminum (Al), the root apices of wild-type plants were heavily stained by hematoxylin, whereas those of Si69 transgenic plants were not stained when treated with 20 μmol/L Al and slightly stained when treated with 50 μmol/L Al. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results further demonstrated that the damage of the root apices was se- verer in wild-type plants than in transgenic plants. Inhibition of root growth and accumulation of malondialdehyde (MDA), an indicator of lipid peroxidation, were lower in transgenic plants than in wild-type plants. 4Assessment and analysis of microwave emissivity and transmissivity of a deciduous forest towards the estimate of vegetation biomass显示文摘Forests play an important role in the global carbon cycle and have a potential impact on global climatic change.Monitoring forest biomass is of considerable importance in understanding the hydrological cycle.Because of the problem of dense forest cover,no reliable method with which to retrieve soil moisture in forest areas from the microwave emission signature has been established.All of these issues relate to the microwave emissivity and transmissivity characteristics of a forest.The microwave emission contribution received by a sensor above a forest canopy comes from both the soil surface and the vegetation layer.To analyze the relationship of forest biomass and forest emission and transmissivity,a high-order emission model,the matrix-doubling model,which consists of both soil and vegetation models,was developed and then validated for a young deciduous forest stand in a field experiment.To simulate the emissivity and transmissivity of a deciduous forest in the L and X bands using the matrix-doubling model,the parameters of components of deciduous trees when the leaf area index varies from 1 to10 were generated by an L-system and a forest growth model.The emissivity and transmissivity of a forest and the relationships of these parameters to forest biomass are presented and analyzed in this paper.Emissivity in the L band when the leaf area index is less than 6 and at viewing angles less than 40°,and transmissivity in the L band are the most sensitive parameters in deciduous forest biomass estimation.ZHANG ZhongJun YU XianChuan ZHAO ShaoJie CHAI LinNa 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,3:2
5Intestinal dysbiosis exacerbates the pathogenesis of psoriasis-like phenotype through changes in fatty acid metabolism显示文摘The intestinal microbiota has been associated with host immunity as well as psoriasis;however,the mechanism of intestinal microbiota regulating psoriasis needs to be demonstrated systematically.Here,we sought to examine its role and mechanism of action in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.We found that the severity of psoriasis-like skin phenotype was accompanied by changes in the composition of the intestinal microbiota.We performed co-housing and fecal microbial transplantation(FMT)experiments using the K14-VEGF transgenic mouse model of psoriasis and demonstrated that the transfer of intestinal microbiota from mice with severe psoriasis-like skin phenotype exacerbated psoriasiform skin inflammation in mice with mild symptoms,including increasing the infiltration and differentiation of Th17,and increased the abundance of Prevotella,while decreasing that of Parabacteroides distasonis,in the colon.These alterations affected fatty acid metabolism,increasing the abundance of oleic and stearic acids.Meanwhile,gentamicin treatment significantly reduced the abundance of Prevotella and alleviated the psoriasis-like symptoms in both K14-VEGF mice and imiquimod(IMQ)-induced psoriasis-like mice.Indeed,administration of oleic and stearic acids exacerbated psoriasis-like symptoms and increased Th17 and monocyte-derived dendritic cell infiltration in the skin lesion areas in vivo,as well as increased the secretion of IL-23 by stimulating DCs in vitro.At last,we found that,treatment of PDE-4 inhibitor alleviated psoriasis-like phenotype of K14-VEGF mice accompanied by the recovery of intestinal microbiota,including the decrease of Prevotella and increase of Parabacteroides distasonis.Overall,our findings reveal that the intestinal microbiota modulates host metabolism and psoriasis-like skin inflammation in mice,suggesting a new target for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis.Qixiang Zhao Jiadong Yu Hong Zhou Xiaoyan Wang Chen Zhang Jing Hu Yawen Hu Huaping Zheng Fanlian Zeng Chengcheng Yue Linna Gu Zhen Wang Fulei Zhao Pei Zhou Haozhou Zhang Nongyu Huang Wenling Wu Yifan Zhou Jiong Li 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2:2
6Precipitation data and their uncertainty as input for rainfallinduced shallow landslide models显示文摘Physical models used toforecast the temporal occurrence of rainfall-induced shallow landslides are based on deterministic laws.Owing to the existing measuring technology and our knowledge of the physical laws controlling landslide initiation,model uncertainties are due to an inability to accurately quantify the model input parameters and rainfall forcing data.An uncertainty analysis of slope instability prediction provides a rationale for refining the geotechnical models.The Transient Rainfall Infiltration and Grid-based Regional Slope Stability-Probabilistic(TRIGRS-P)model adopts a probabilistic approach to compute the changes in the Factor of Safety(FS)due to rainfall infiltration.Slope Infiltration Distributed Equilibrium(SLIDE)is a simplified physical model for landslide prediction.The new code(SLIDE-P)is also modified by adopting the same probabilistic approach to allow values of the SLIDE model input parameters to be sampled randomly.This study examines the relative importance of rainfall variability and the uncertainty in the other variables that determine slope stability.The precipitation data from weather stations,China Meteorological Administration Land Assimilation System 2.0(CLDAS2.0),China Meteorological Forcing Data set precipitation(CMFD),and China geological hazard bulletin are used to drive TRIGRS,SLIDE,TRIGRS-P and SLIDE-P models.The TRIGRS-P and SLIDE-P models are used to generate the input samples and to calculate the values of FS.The outputs of several model runs with varied input parameters and rainfall forcings are analyzed statistically.A comparison suggests that there are significant differences in the simulations of the TRIGRS-P and SLIDE-P models.Although different precipitation data sets are used,the simulation results of TRIGRS-P are more concentrated.This study can inform the potential use of numerical models toforecast the spatial and temporal occurrence of regional rainfall-induced shallow landslides.Yueli CHEN Linna ZHAO Ying WANG Qingu JIANG Dan QI 2019Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4:2

9BMA probability quantitative precipitation forecasting of land-falling typhoons in south-east China显示文摘The probability of quantitative precipitation forecast(PQPF)of three Bayesian Model Averaging(BMA)models based on three raw super ensemble prediction schemes(i.e.,A,B,and C)are established,which through calibration of their parameters using 1-3 day precipitation ensemble prediction systems(EPSs)from the China Meteorological Administration(CMA),the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP)and observation during land-falling of three typhoons in south-east China in 2013.The comparison of PQPF shows that the performance is better in the BMA than that in raw ensemble forecasts.On average,the mean absolute error(MAE)of 1 day lead time forecast is reduced by 12.4%,and its continuous ranked probability score(CRPS)of 1-3 day lead time forecast is reduced by 26.2%,respectively.Although the amount of precipitation prediction by the BMA tends to be underestimated,but in view of the perspective of probability prediction,the probability of covering the observed precipitation by the effective forecast ranges of the BMA are increased,which is of great significance for the early warning of torrential rain and secondary disasters induced by it.Linna ZHAO Xuemei BAI Dan QI Cheng XING 2019Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4:1

13Adaptive Optimal Output Regulation of Interconnected Singularly Perturbed Systems With Application to Power Systems显示文摘This article studies the adaptive optimal output regulation problem for a class of interconnected singularly perturbed systems(SPSs) with unknown dynamics based on reinforcement learning(RL).Taking into account the slow and fast characteristics among system states,the interconnected SPS is decomposed into the slow time-scale dynamics and the fast timescale dynamics through singular perturbation theory.For the fast time-scale dynamics with interconnections,we devise a decentralized optimal control strategy by selecting appropriate weight matrices in the cost function.For the slow time-scale dynamics with unknown system parameters,an off-policy RL algorithm with convergence guarantee is given to learn the optimal control strategy in terms of measurement data.By combining the slow and fast controllers,we establish the composite decentralized adaptive optimal output regulator,and rigorously analyze the stability and optimality of the closed-loop system.The proposed decomposition design not only bypasses the numerical stiffness but also alleviates the high-dimensionality.The efficacy of the proposed methodology is validated by a load-frequency control application of a two-area power system.Jianguo Zhao Chunyu Yang Weinan Gao Linna Zhou Xiaomin Liu 2024IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2024,11,3:0
14Histological Study of the Liver Pigmentation of Chinese Fire-bellied Newt (Cynops orientalis) During Activity and Hibernation Periods显示文摘The pigmentation in the liver of Chinese fire-bellied newt(Cynops orientalis) was described during two periods of the annual cycle(summer activity and winter hibernation). A large number of melanin granules were gathered into clusters and distributed unevenly inside the pigment cells. Liver pigmentation(melanin content) was found unstable,varying during the annual cycle. During the hibernation period,pigmentation accumulation was shown to increase in the liver of the Chinese fire-bellied newt. Hepatocytes during the active period are approximately 14.64% larger than those in the hibernation period,while the nucleus is approximately 7.43% bigger during the active period when compared with that during the hibernation period. 15Preparation of EGCG decorated,injectable extracellular vesicles for cartilage repair in rat arthritis显示文摘Arthritis is a kind of chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease,which can destroy joint cartilage and bone,leading to joint pain,joint swelling,and limited mobility.Traditional therapies have many side effects or focus too much on anti-inflammation while neglecting joint repair.In this experiment,we combined Epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG)with extracellular vesicles derived from macrophages to treat rheumatoid arthritis.Sustained-release resulted in a significant decrease in chondrocyte expression of hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha,a decrease in apoptosis-related proteins Cytochrome C,Caspase-3,Caspase-9,and Bax.Molecular biological analysis showed that extracellular vesicles-encapsulated EGCG(EVs-EGCG)more significantly upregulated type II collagen expression by about 1.8-fold than EGCG alone,which was more beneficial for arthritis repair.Animal experiments revealed that these EGCG-coated extracellular vesicles significantly reduced swelling,decreased synovial hyperplasia,repaired cartilage,and attenuated arthritis-related pathology scores in arthritic rats.Measurement data showed that EVs-EGCG treatment reduced joint swelling by approximately 39.5%in rheumatoid rats.In vitro studies have shown that this EVs-EGCG can increase the expression of cartilage type II collagen and reduce apoptosis of chondrocytes.Moreover,it was demonstrated in vivo experiments to reduce cartilage destruction in rheumatoid arthritis rats,providing a solution for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.Changwei Song Shibo Xu Linna Chang Xingjun Zhao Xifan Mei Xiuli Ren Zhenhua Chen 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,6:0
16The Prognostic Value of Red Cell Distribution Width in Critically Ill Cerebral Infarction Patients:A Retrospective Cohort Study显示文摘Objective:Red blood cell distribution width(RDW)has been utilized as a prognostic indicator for mortality risk assessment in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular patients.Nevertheless,the prognostic significance of RDW in critically ill patients with cerebral infarction is yet to be investigated.The objective of this study is to examine the association between RDW and the risk of all-cause mortality in cerebral infarction patients admitted to the intensive care unit(ICU).Method:A retrospective cohort study was conducted using the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care IV 2.2(MIMIC-IV)intensive care dataset for data analysis.The main results were the all-cause mortality rates at 3 and 12 months of follow-up.Cumulative curves were plotted using the Kaplan-Meier method,and Cox proportional hazards analysis was used to examine the relationship between RDW and mortality rates in critically ill cerebral infarction patients.Results:The findings indicate that RDW serves as a significant prognostic factor for mortality risk in critically ill stroke patients,specifically at the 3 and 12-month follow-up periods.The observed correlation between increasing RDW levels and higher mortality rates among cerebral infarction patients further supports the potential utility of RDW as a predictive indicator.Conclusion:RDW emerges as an independent predictor of mortality risk during the 3 and 12-month follow-up periods for critically ill patients with cerebral infarction.Lingyan Zhao Linna Wu Gui-Ping Li 2024Journal of Clinical and Nursing Research2024,8,2:0
17Separation of cortical arteries and veins in optical neurovascular imaging显示文摘Separation of arteries and veins in the cerebral cortex is of significant importance in the studies of cortical hemodynamics,such as the changes of cerebral blood flow,perfusion or oxygen con-centration in arteries and veins under different pathological and physiological conditions.Yet the cerebral vessel segmentation and vessel-type separation are challenging due to the complexity of cortical vessel characteristics and low spatial signal-to-noise ratio.In this work,we presented an effective full-field method to differentiate arteries and veins in cerebral cortex using dual-modal optical imaging technology including laser speckle imaging(LSI)and optical intrinsic signals(OIS)imaging.The raw contrast images were acquired by LSI and processed with enhanced laser speckle contrast analysis(eLASCA),algorithm.The vascular pattern was extracted and seg-mented using region growing algorithm from the eLASCA-based LSI.Meanwhile,OIS imageswere acquired altermatively with 630 and 870 nm to obtain an oxy hemoglobin concentration mapover cerebral cortex.Then the separation of arteries and veins was accomplished by Otsuthreshold segmentation algorithm based on the OIS information and segmentation of LSI.Finally,the segmentation and separation performances were assessed using area overlap measure(AOM).The segmentation and separation of cerebral vessels in cortical optical imaging have great potential applications in full-field cerebral hemodynamics monitoring and pathological study of cerebral vascular diseases,as well as in clinical intraoperative monitoring.Linna Zhao Yao Li Hongyang Lu Lu Yuan Shanbao Tong 2014Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences2014,7,3:0
18Sulfonyldibenzene-based hole-transporting materials for efficient n-i-p perovskite solar cells显示文摘Organic hole-transporting materials(HTMs)are an essential component in conventional perovskite solar cells(PSCs).In this work,two sulfonyldibenzene-based molecules,named CS-04 and CS-05,are synthesized and employed as HTMs in n-i-p PSCs.In comparison with CS-04,the carbazole-substituted methoxytriphenylamine(Cz MOTPA)group in CS-05 exhibits an increased degree of molecular distortion,thus endowing CS-05 with excellent solvent solubility and film-formation ability.Moreover,CS-05 shows a high hole mobility,superior hole extraction and hole transporting properties.As a result,CS-05 yields impressive device performances with a high power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 20.15%,while that of CS-04 based device is 19.50%,which is comparable to that of the Spiro-OMe TAD based control device(19.59%).This finding illustrates the potential of sulfonyldibenzene-based molecules for the applications in PSCs,and also provides a novel avenue to improve the performances and stability of PSCs by tailoring the sulfonyldibenzene-based molecules.Tian Qin Fei Wu Yingxiao Mu Yubo Long Linna Zhu Juan Zhao Zhenguo Chi 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,1:0

20Modulating surface cation vacancies of nickel-cobalt oxides as efficient catalysts for lithium-oxygen batteries显示文摘Rechargeable lithium-oxygen batteries(LOBs)have received incremental attention owing to their high energy density and applicability to mobile devices and electric vehicles.However,the lack of robust,low-cost,and environmentally benign bifunctional catalysts is a major impediment to the commercial application.The introduction of vacancies is one of the effective strategies to enhance the performance of cathode catalysts for lithium-oxygen batteries,but the preparation is complicated.In this work,needle-like microsphere cathode catalysts of nickel-cobalt oxide containing cationic vacancies are constructed by controlling the annealing temperature.It is demonstrated that the presence of cationic vacancies can modulate the electronic structure of the catalyst,reduce the energy barrier for the oxygen electrode re-action,meanwhile enhance the bifunctional catalytic activity.Impressively,the nickel-cobalt oxide-based LOB with cationic vacancies exhibits large specific capacity(12,205 mAh g^(-1)at 200 mA g^(-1))and good durability.This work provides worthwhile insight into the formation and catalytic enhancement mech-anism of transition metal oxide catalysts with cationic vacancies,and to some extent,the creation of efficient and low-cost oxygen electrocatalysts for LOBs.Yuan Yang Linna Dai Jianwei Qiu Zhibiao Hu Peng Wang Yongtao Zhao Huanhuan Guo Pengchao Si Rui Song 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,8:0
