1Experimental Study of the Pressure Fluctuations in a Pump Turbine at Large Partial Flow Conditions显示文摘Frequent shifts of output and operating mode require a pump turbine with excellent stability. Current researches show that large partial flow conditions in pump mode experience positive-slope phenomena with a large head drop. The pressure fluctuation at the positive slope is crucial to the pump turbine unit safety. The operating instabilities at large partial flow conditions for a pump turbine are analyzed. The hydraulic performance of a model pump turbine is tested with the pressure fluctuations measured at unstable operating points near a positive slope in the performance curve. The hydraulic performance tests show that there are two separated positive-slope regions for the pump turbine, with the flow discharge for the first positive slope from 0.85 to 0.91 times that at the maximum efficiency point. The amplitudes of the pressure fluctuations at these unstable large partial flow conditions near the first positive slope are much larger than those at stable operating condtions. A dominant frequency is measured at 0.2 times the impeller rotational frequency in the flow passage near the impeller exit, which is believed to be induced by the rotating stall in the flow passage of the wicket gates. The test results also show hysteresis with pressure fluctuations when the pump turbine is operated near the first positive slope. The hysteresis creates different pressure fluctuations for those operation points even though their flow rates and heads are similar respectively. 3Strain-based design for buried pipelines subjected to landslides显示文摘Landslides are one of the key problems for stability analysis of pipelines in the western region of China where the geological conditions are extremely complicated. In order to offer a theoretical basis for the pipe-soil interaction, the general finite element program ABAQUS is used to analyze the distribution of pipe strain caused by landslide through which the pipeline passes. In this paper the Ramberg-Osgood constitutive equation is used to study the strain-based mechanical characteristics of pipelines. Different calculation schemas are designed by considering the change of spatial relationship between pipeline and landslide, and the change of D/t, diameter-thickness ratio of pipeline. The results indicate that the pipeline is primarily subjected to tension stress when the landslide crosses the pipeline perpendicularly, the pipe strain is a maximum along the central axis of the landslide, and reverse bending occurs on pipeline at both edges of the landslide. The pipeline is primarily subjected to friction force caused by the downward movement of the landslide, and the friction force is relatively small when the landslide is parallel to the pipeline. 4Discussion on Sustainable Urbanization in Tibet显示文摘After 1995, Tibet entered the stage of accelerated urbanization. The large floating population from outside Tibet has become the driving force for urban expansion and the rising of urbanization rate. After analyzing the changes of urban functions and spatial structure of urban system in Tibet, this paper argues that before 1995 the urbanization in Tibet was mainly driven by administrative function, resulting in certain population migration, whereas in the past decade economic function has become the key factor accelerating urban expansion with the market mechanism creating large-scale inflow of population. The floating population-based urbanization and high population growth in the agricultural and pastoral areas of Tibet has promoted the regional economic prosperity, but exerted resources and environmental pressure and brought some problems for Tibetan culture protection at the same time. The conflicts and contradictions between urbanization and the sustainability of natural resources, environment and social development have been intensified. 5Experimental research on coal seam similar material proportion and its application显示文摘In this paper, the optimization design of the low strength mechanical test and orthogonal test have been analyzed in order to simulate the mechanical properties of thick and extra-thick coal seam accurately in a similar material simulation test. The results show that the specimen can reach a wider range of strength when cement has been used compared to that of gypsum, suggesting that cement is more suitable for making coal seam in similar material simulation tests. The uniaxial compressive strength is more sensitive to cement than coal or sand. The proportion of coal and sand do not play a decisive role in uniaxial compressive strength. The uniaxial compressive strength and specimen density decrease as the mass percent of coal and aggregate–binder ratio rise. There is a positive correlation between uniaxial compressive strength and density. The No. 5 proportion(cement: sand: water: activated carbon: coal = 6:6:7:1.1:79.9)was chosen to be used in the similar material simulation test of steeply dipping and extra-thick coal seam with a density of 0.913 g/cm^3 and an uniaxial compressive strength of 0.076 MPa which are in accordance with the similarity theory. 6Efficient BoPDS Gene Editing in Cabbage by the CRISPR/Cas9 System显示文摘Genome editing offers great advantages in identifying gene function and generating agronomically important mutations in crops. Here,we report that the genome of cabbage(Brassica oleracea var. capitata), an important cruciferous vegetable, can also be precisely edited by a CRISPR/Cas9 system stacked with multiple single-guide RNA-expressing cassettes. When the phytoene desaturase Bo PDS gene was used as the target gene, an albino-phenotype transgenic shoot in T0 Basta-resistant lines was observed, and 37.5% of the transgenic cabbage shoots carried Bo PDS gene mutations as a result of nucleotide deletions at the expected position. Moreover, mutations were detected in sites with the same target sequence in gene Bol016089 which is paralogous to the Bo PDS gene. 7Simultaneous Screening of 733 Pesticide Residues in Fruits and Vegetables by a GC/LC-Q-TOFMS Combination Technique显示文摘In this paper,we report the construction of two accurate mass databases and the development of a combination detection method that simultaneously screens for 733 pesticide and chemical contaminant multi-residues via high-throughput liquid chromatography(LC)-and gas chromatography(GC)-quadru pole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry(Q-TOFMS).This work demonstrates that electronic mass spectral standards may replace chemical-source standard materials as references through one sample preparation and the combination of GC/LC-Q-TOFMS screening.This cutting-edge technique has also replaced multiresidue determination using targeted detection with non-targeted screening.The pesticide residue types,sensitivity,recovery,and reproducibility of this combination technique are evaluated in eight fruit and vegetable matrices.This technique shows three advantages:①In comparison with the discovery capability of a single technique,the combination technique shows an improvement of 51.1%(GC-QTOFMS)and 39.6%(LC-Q-TOFMS),respectively;②the combination technique can satisfy a screening limit lower than 10μg·kg^-1 and meet the requirements of“uniform standards,”although some of the pesticide residues could be optimized to further improve screening sensitivity;③over 488 pesticides with recoveries between 60%-120%and relative standard deviation(RSD)<20%at a spiked level of 10μg·kg^-1 were detected with the combination technique in eight different matrices.From 2012 to 2017,this combination technique was applied in an investigation to screen pesticide residues from 1384 sampling locations for 38138 batched samples covering 18 categories and 134 types of fruits and vegetables obtained from across the mainland of China.After statistical analysis,533 pesticides in 115891 determinations were detected,and the regularity of pesticides in the fruits and vegetables sold on the Chinese market was shown.Guofang Pang Qiaoying Chang Ruobin Bai Chunlin Fan Zijuan Zhang Hongyuan Yan Xingqiang Wu 2020Engineering2020,6,4:11
8Role of endogenous hormones,glumes,endosperm and temperature on germination of Leymus chinensis(Poaceae)seeds during development显示文摘Aims Leymus chinensis is an original dominant plant in the Songnen grassland,and it has great value for restoration of severely degraded land.However,seeds are dormant,and low germination percentage is a problem for restoring L.chinensis grassland.The mechanism of seed dormancy is not been well understood.The primary aims of the present study were to investigate the dormancy mechanism of L.chinensis seeds(caryopses)with reference to the role of embryo-covering layers,endogenous hormones and temperature.Methods Changes in concentration of the endogenous hormones GA3,indoleacetic acid(IAA),zeatin riboside(ZR)and abscisic acid(ABA)in L.chinensis seeds fromanthesis to maturity weremeasured by the enzymelinked immunosorbent assay method.Germination at different stages of maturity were tested at 16/28C,5/28C and 5/35C for intact seeds with glumes(control),intact seeds with glumes removed(nakedwhole seeds)and intact seeds with glumes and one-half of the endosperm removed(naked-half seeds).Important Findings Of the four endogenous hormones monitored,only the concentration of ZR differed significantly between the beginning and the end of seed development(increased);the GA3/ABA ratio also did not differ.Rank of germination percentage of control at the three temperature regimens was 5/28C>16/28C>5/35C.Germination percentage of the naked-half seeds reached 100%under the three temperature regimens.We concluded that dormancy of L.chinensis seeds is not mainly controlled by endogenous hormones.Germination temperature,mechanical resistance of glumes and inhibition of endosperm are the main factors controlling dormancy and germination of L.chinensis seeds.Hongyuan Ma Zhengwei Liang Haitao Wu Lihua Huang Zhichun Wang 2010Journal of Plant Ecology2010,3,4:11

10Antenna Selection and Power Allocation Design for 5G Massive MIMO Uplink Networks显示文摘Massive MIMO is one of the key technologies in future 5G communications which can satisfy the requirement of high speed and large capacity. This paper considers antenna selection and power allocation design to promote energy conservation then provide good quality of service(QoS) for the whole massive MIMO uplink network. Unlike previous related works, hardware impairment, transmission efficiency, and energy consumption at the circuit and antennas are involved in massive MIMO networks. In order to ensure the QoS, we consider the minimum rate constraint for each user and the system, which increases the complexity of power allocation problem for maximizing energy and spectral efficiency in massive MIMO system. To this end, a quantum-inspired social emotional optimization(QSEO) algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal power control strategy in massive MIMO uplink networks. 12RAPID AND NONDESTRUCTIVE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR WELDING RESDlUAL STRESS BY ULTRASONIC METHOD显示文摘Traditional methods of residual stress measurement are generally destructive or semi-destructive,as well as expensive,time-consuming and complex to implement.With the new development of welded structure,traditional methods can not satisfy the need of full life task management.So the acoustical theory is introduced,since the ultrasonic technique provides a useful nondestructive tool in the evaluation of stresses.In this study an ultrasonic stress measurement experimental installation is established,which consists of a special transducer,a signal emission unit and a signal recipient processing unit.Longitudinal critically refracted wave is selected as the measurement wave mode.The supporting software is programmed by Labview software.The longitudinal residual stress and transverse residual stress of twin wire welded plate are measured by this installment,in which the measuring process is real-time,quick and nondestructive.The experiment results indicate that the system can satisfy the need of life evaluation for welded structure. 13Underwater explosion in centrifuge Part Ⅱ:Dynamic responses of defensive steel plate显示文摘Part II of this paper is focused on the dynamic response of a steel plate of the centrifuge model which is fixed on the container. This plate is 5 cm thick, allowing for non-destructive elastic response to all the 19 blasts. Three accelerators and 10 sets of strain gauges are installed on the plate to monitor the acceleration and deformation histories induced by shock waves and bubble oscillations.This article presents the characteristic values measured for shock waves and bubble oscillations response. The detailed information can be found in a database available on the web. In order to obtain the correct acceleration time history, the cut-off frequency of low-pass filtering by Fourier transformation was applied. The results indicated that the acceleration and strain induced by shock wave was nearly unaffected by the increasing gravity, while the effect of gravity has remarkable influence on those induced by bubble oscillation. A preliminary study of comparing the measured dynamic response with numerical simulations has been carried out using ANSYS LS-DYNA. The results captured the dynamic response in terms of characteristics and trends, but deviated in magnitude due the theoretical and technological limitations involved in both the physical and numerical models. 14Fatigue Property of Basalt Fiber-Modified Asphalt Mixture under Complicated Environment显示文摘The fatigue property of asphalt mixtures under complicated environment(low-temperature bending performance, chloride penetration, freezing-thawing cycle and their coupling effect) and the improvement effect for relevant property of basalt fiber-reinforcing asphalt mixture under complicated environment are studied. Two grading types of asphalt mixtures, AC-16 I and AC-13 I, are chosen, whose optimum asphalt-aggregate ratio and optimum dosage of basalt fiber are determined by the Marshall test. The standard specimens are made firstly, and then the low temperature bending tests of asphalt mixture and basalt fiber-reinforced asphalt mixture under the coupling effect of the chloride erosion and freezing-thawing cycle have been carried out. Finally, the fatigue property tests of asphalt mixture and basalt fiber-reinforced asphalt mixture under complex environment are performed on MTS material testing system. The results indicate that the tensile strength, the maximum curving tensile stress, the curving stiffness modulus, and fatigue properties of asphalt mixture are infl uenced by the coupling effect of the chloride erosion and freezing-thawing cycle. The low-temperature bending performance and fatigue property of asphalt mixtures under complicated environment can be greatly improved by adding moderate basalt fiber. 16CRISPR/Cas9-mediated multiple gene editing in Brassica oleracea var.capitata using the endogenous tRNA-processing system显示文摘Cabbage(Brassica oleracea var.capitata)is a biennial plant with strong self-incompatibility and an obligate requirement for prolonged vernalization by exposure to low temperatures to induce flowering.These characteristics significantly increase the difficulty of exploiting novel germplasm induced by physical or chemical mutagens.In this study,we report a CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing system based on endogenous tRNA processing to induce high efficiency and inheritable mutagenesis in cabbage.Using the phytoene desaturase gene BoPDS,the S-receptor kinase gene BoSRK,and the male-sterility-associated gene BoMS1 as the target genes,multisite and multiple gene mutations were achieved using a construct with tandemly arrayed tRNA-sgRNA architecture to express multiple sgRNAs.The BoSRK3 gene mutation suppressed self-incompatibility completely,converting the self-incompatible line into a self-compatible line.In addition,the BoMS1 gene mutation produced a completely male-sterile mutant,which was highly cross compatible with its nonmutant isoline at the flowering stage as a result of a simultaneous BoSRK3 gene mutation,enabling the economic propagation of the male-sterile line through bee-mediated cross-pollination.Interestingly,higher site mutation efficiency was detected when a guide sequence was inserted into a location in the tandemly arrayed tRNA-sgRNA architecture that was distal from the upstream Pol III promoter.In addition,mutation sites were also detected in the paralogous genes of the BoPDS and BoSRK genes that had fully consistent sequences or base mismatches but beyond the“seed”region in the spacer sequence compared with the target sgRNAs.Collectively,our results demonstrate that the CRISPR/Cas9 system,coupled with an endogenous tRNA-processing system,is an efficient tool to improve cabbage traits.Cunfa Ma Chenzeng Zhu Min Zheng Mengci Liu Dejun Zhang Baoli Liu Qinfei Li Jun Si Xuesong Ren Hongyuan Song 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:8
17Nutritional modulation of health, egg quality and environmental pollution of the layers显示文摘World egg production and consumption have been increasing for the past decades. Traditional strategies in poultry nutrition have made vital contributions to this great growth in quantity. However, current global issues should be considered in modern egg production such as growing populations and food security, food safety and quality, limited resources and environmental problems. The development of knowledge of poultry nutrition and modern biotechnology provides novel nutritional approaches to closely fit the requirement of pullets and laying hens, which will consequently decrease the nutrition excretion and maintain the lower cost of feed. Nutrition has also been widely accepted as a strategy to influence health and diseases of laying hens. The maintenance of good health is an important prerequisite for improving productivity and egg quality. In addition, there are many measures and strategies for minimizing the incidence of egg defects and providing a choice of lifestyle to enhance human health. 18Effect of VC addition on the microstructure and properties of Ti(C,N)-based nano cermets显示文摘In this paper,Ti(C,N)-based nano cermets were prepared by nano particles,and the effect of VC addition on the microstructure and proper-ties of Ti(C,N)-based nano cermets was investigated.The results showed that there existed black-core grayish-rim structure as well as gray-core grayish-rim structure in VC-doped Ti(C,N)-based nano cermets.With the increase of VC addition,the number of gray cores in-creased,the lattice parameter of Ti(C,N) phase increased,the grain size decreased,the hardness and fracture toughness of Ti(C,N)-based nano cermets were enhanced,and nearly full densification could be achieved.However,excessive addition of VC to 1 wt% resulted in slight decrease in hardness and fracture toughness.Some deep dimples were found in the fracture surface of cermets with VC addition,which cor-responded to ductile fracture.YING Xiayu XIONG Ji GUO Zhixing CHEN Jianzhong XIONG Sujian YANG Mei FAN Hongyuan 2011Rare Metals2011,30,6:7

It is shown that the throttle of MR material is dependent on its porosity and diameter of metal wires. 20Attenuation of rock blasting induced ground vibration in rock-soil interface显示文摘Blasting has been widely used in mining and construction industries for rock breaking.This paper presents the results of a series of field tests conducted to investigate the ground wave propagation through mixed geological media.The tests were conducted at a site in the northwestern part of Singapore composed of residual soil and granitic rock.The field test aims to provide measurement data to better understand the stress wave propagation in soil/rock and along their interface.Triaxial accelerometers were used for the free field vibration monitoring.The measured results are presented and discussed,and empirical formulae for predicting peak particle velocity (PPV) attenuation along the ground surface and in soil/rock were derived from the measured data.Also,the ground vibration attenuation across the soil-rock interface was carefully examined,and it was found that the PPV of ground vibration was decreased by 37.2% when it travels from rock to soil in the vertical direction.Bhagya Jayasinghe Zhiye Zhao Anthony Goh Teck Chee Hongyuan Zhou Yilin Gui 2019Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2019,11,4:7
