| 1 | Gastrodin promotes the secretion of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in the injured spinal cord显示文摘Gastrodin, an active component of tall gastrodia tuber, is widely used in the treatment of dizziness, paralysis, epilepsy, stroke and dementia, and exhibits a neuroprotective effect. A rat model of spinal cord injury was established using Allen's method, and gastrodin was administered via the subarachnoid cavity and by intraperitoneal injection for 7 days. Results show that gastrodin promoted the secretion of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in rats with spinal cord injury. After gastrodin treatment, the maximum angle of the inclined plane test, and the Basso, Beattie and Bresnahan scores increased. Moreover, gastrodin improved neural tissue recovery in the injured spinal cord. | 11 | Preparation of EGCG decorated,injectable extracellular vesicles for cartilage repair in rat arthritis显示文摘Arthritis is a kind of chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease,which can destroy joint cartilage and bone,leading to joint pain,joint swelling,and limited mobility.Traditional therapies have many side effects or focus too much on anti-inflammation while neglecting joint repair.In this experiment,we combined Epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG)with extracellular vesicles derived from macrophages to treat rheumatoid arthritis.Sustained-release resulted in a significant decrease in chondrocyte expression of hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha,a decrease in apoptosis-related proteins Cytochrome C,Caspase-3,Caspase-9,and Bax.Molecular biological analysis showed that extracellular vesicles-encapsulated EGCG(EVs-EGCG)more significantly upregulated type II collagen expression by about 1.8-fold than EGCG alone,which was more beneficial for arthritis repair.Animal experiments revealed that these EGCG-coated extracellular vesicles significantly reduced swelling,decreased synovial hyperplasia,repaired cartilage,and attenuated arthritis-related pathology scores in arthritic rats.Measurement data showed that EVs-EGCG treatment reduced joint swelling by approximately 39.5%in rheumatoid rats.In vitro studies have shown that this EVs-EGCG can increase the expression of cartilage type II collagen and reduce apoptosis of chondrocytes.Moreover,it was demonstrated in vivo experiments to reduce cartilage destruction in rheumatoid arthritis rats,providing a solution for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. | Changwei Song Shibo Xu Linna Chang Xingjun Zhao Xifan Mei Xiuli Ren Zhenhua Chen | 2021 | Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,6: | 0 |

| 13 | All-in-one phototheranostics based on BTP-4F-DMO nanoparticles for NIR-II fluorescence/photoacoustic dual-mode imaging and combinational therapy显示文摘Various phototheranostics have recently been developed for phototherapy.Through proper molecular design,the photochemical and photophysical properties of these phototheranostics can be promoted.Herein,an acceptor-donor-acceptor(A-D-A)-structured dye,BTP-4F-DMO,was synthesized and prepared into water-soluble nanoparticles(NPs).The obtained BTP-4F-DMO NPs had strong absorption from650 nm to 850 nm and a fluorescence emission peak at~900 nm that tailed to~1100 nm.The NPs showed a superhigh photothermal conversion efficiency of 90.5%±5%and could simultaneously generate·OH and^(1)O_(2)with a^(1)O_(2)generation quantum yield of 4.6%under 808 nm laser irradiation.Due to these advanced properties,BTP-4F-DMO NPs can switch the role of autophagy from pro-survival to prodeath,thereby further promoting cancer cell death.These features make BTP-4F-DMO NPs a promising multifunctional phototheranostic agent for NIR-II fluorescence/photoacoustic dual-mode imaging-guided synergetic photodynamic/photothermal therapy.In general,this work provides a strategy for expanding the biomedical applications of organic A-D-A-structured phototheranostics. | Ke Yang Bowen Yu Wei Liu Zequn Zhang Li Huang Shaojing Zhao Benhua Wang Jianing Yi Jun Yuan Yingping Zou Changwei Lin Xiangzhi Song Minhuan Lan | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,6: | 0 |
