| 1 | Challenges and developments of automotive fuel cell hybrid power system and control显示文摘Fuel cells are emerging as promising power sources and have attracted increasing attention from industries and academics worldwide. In particular, automotive manufacturers are replacing internal combustion engines in vehicles with fuel cell systems, which are advantaged by zero emissions, high efficiency,and various clean routes that generate pure hydrogen. However, current fuel cell systems are costly, and their corresponding infrastructures are not fully qualified to meet current market demand. This paper reviews the challenges and developments of automotive fuel cell hybrid power systems and their controls. It briefly summarizes the model, control, and optimization issue associated with the research and application of fuel cells in hybrid power systems. After presenting the basic knowledge and discussing the trending size and structure of fuel cells for automotive usage, the review describes models of automotive fuel cell systems,focusing on the electrochemical reaction dynamics and the key parameters influencing their efficiency and lifetime. The control problems associated with automotive fuel cell systems as well as the optimization issue associated with hybrid energy systems(comprising fuel cells, batteries, and ultra-capacitors) are elaborately analyzed. | 3 | Novel approach of crater detection by crater candidate region selection and matrix-pattern-oriented least squares support vector machine显示文摘Impacted craters are commonly found on the surface of planets, satellites, asteroids and other solar system bodies. In order to speed up the rate of constructing the database of craters, it is important to develop crater detection algorithms. This paper presents a novel approach to automatically detect craters on planetary surfaces. The approach contains two parts: crater candidate region selection and crater detection. In the first part, crater candidate region selection is achieved by Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi (KLT) detector. Matrix-pattern-oriented least squares support vector machine (MatLSSVM), as the matrixization version of least square support vector machine (SVM), inherits the advantages of least squares support vector machine (LSSVM), reduces storage space greatly and reserves spatial redundancies within each image matrix compared with general LSSVM. The second part of the approach employs MatLSSVM to design classifier for crater detection. Experimental results on the dataset which comprises 160 preprocessed image patches from Google Mars demonstrate that the accuracy rate of crater detection can be up to 88%. In addition, the outstanding feature of the approach introduced in this paper is that it takes resized crater candidate region as input pattern directly to finish crater detection. | 6 | Thermo-responsive stick-slip behavior of advancing water contact angle on the surfaces of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-grafted polypropylene membranes显示文摘Wettability of a solid surface is highly important to its practical application,especially for the surface that shows thermoresponsive properties.In this paper,we describe a thermo-responsive stick-slip behavior of water droplets on the surfaces of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM)-grafted polypropylene membranes.Field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM) images elucidate that the morphology of PNIPAM-grafted membrane surface is thermo-responsive,i.e.,the surface becomes rougher above the lower critical solution temperature(LCST) of PNIPAM.On the surface of nascent polypropylene membranes,the water droplet shows a smooth motion resulting in advancing and receding water contact angles of 111° and ~65°,respectively.On the PNIPAM-grafted membrane surfaces,the water droplet shows a stick-slip pattern above the LCST,whereas it advances smoothly below the LCST.This phenomenon is reproducible and can be ascribed to the energy barriers enhanced by the shrink of PNIPAM chains above the LCST.We also find that the slip contact angle decreases from 102° to 92° after several stick-slip cycles.This decrease is attributed to the water adsorption on the grafted PNIPAM layer,which is confirmed by the continuous decrease of the receding water contact angle. | WAN LingShu,MENG XiangLin,YANG YunFeng,TIAN Jing & XU ZhiKang Key Laboratory of Macromolecular Synthesis and Functionalization,Ministry of Education Department of Polymer Science and Engineering,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310027,China | 2010 | Science China Chemistry2010,53,1: | 2 |
| 7 | Microscopic and Fractal Characterization of Organic Matter within Lacustrine Shale Reservoirs in the First Member of Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation,Songliao Basin,Northeast China显示文摘Understanding the occurrences of different fractions of organic matter in shale reservoirs is very important for the evaluation of shale oil.Lacustrine organic-rich shale samples from the first member of the Cretaceous Qingshankou Formation in the Songliao Basin were analyzed with confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM)and fluorescence spectral analysis.The results show that the occurrences of different organic components are related to the fabric of samples and vary with depth.The bulk content of light components is significantly higher than heavy components and exhibits a positive relationship with quartz and feldspar contents.Both light and heavy components are distributed parallel with the lamination in microscopic view in laminated samples,and randomly in massive samples.The maximum radius of light components in most of the samples is larger than 20μm,while it is smaller for heavy components,indicating the micro fractionation from clay/organic lamina to quartz/feldspar lamina.The depth of enrichment of light components corresponds to the oil maturity of organic matter.Both the distribution of light and heavy components fits the same fractal model,with fractal dimensions ranging between 2.2 and 2.5.The CLSM results confirm that it can be a reliable tool for the'sweet spot'exploration. | Bo Liu Meng Yan Xianda Sun Yunfeng Bai Longhui Bai Xiaofei Fu | 2020 | Journal of Earth Science2020,31,6: | 2 |

| 17 | R3-MYB proteins OsTCL1 and OsTCL2 modulate seed germination via dual pathways in rice显示文摘Salt and drought stress are common abiotic factors that exert a detrimental influence on seed germination,potentially leading to significantly impaired growth and production in rice.Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the molecular response of seeds to abiotic stress during the germination is of paramount importance.In the present study,we identified two R3-MYB genes in rice,namely OsTCL1 and OsTCL2,and characterized their roles in regulating seed germination under salt and drought stress.Plants with tcl1 and tcl2 mutant alleles exhibited delayed seed germination,particularly under stress conditions.The tcl1 tcl2 double mutant showed an even more pronounced reduction in germination during initial stages of germination,thereby indicating a redundant regulatory function of OsTCL1 and OsTCL2 in seed germination under abiotic stresses.Furthermore,we demonstrated that the transcript levels of several phospholipase D(PLD)genes were downregulated in the tcl1 tcl2 mutant,resulting in a decreased level of the phosphatidic acid(PA)product.Application of 1-butanol,a competitive substrate inhibitor of PLD-dependent production of PA,attenuated the stress response of the tcl1 tcl2 mutant.This suggests that OsTCL1 and OsTCL2 partially modulate seed germination through the PLD-PA signaling pathway.Moreover,there were alterations in the expression of genes involved in abscisic acid(ABA)biosynthesis,metabolism and signaling transduction in the double mutant.These changes affected the endogenous ABA level and ABA response,thereby influencing seed germination.Application of both 1-butanol and ABA synthesis inhibitor sodium tungstate(Na2WO4)nearly eliminated the differences in stress response between wild type and the tcl1 tcl2 mutant.This indicates that OsTCL1 and OsTCL2 synergistically coordinate seed germination under abiotic stresses through both the PLD-PA signaling and ABA-mediated pathways. | Yong Yi Chan Lin Xueyan Peng Meishan Zhang Jiaming Wu Chunmei Meng Shengchao Ge Yunfeng Liu Yuan Su | 2023 | The Crop Journal2023,11,6: | 0 |

| 19 | Fine mapping and transcriptome sequencing reveal candidate genes conferring all-stage resistance to stripe rust on chromosome arm 1AL in Chinese wheat landrace AS1676显示文摘Stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici(Pst), threatens wheat production worldwide, and resistant varieties tend to become susceptible after a period of cultivation owing to the variation of pathogen races. In this study, a new resistance gene against Pst race CYR34 was identified and predicted using the descendants of a cross between AS1676, a highly resistant Chinese landrace, and Avocet S, a susceptible cultivar. From a heterozygous plant from a F7recombinant inbred line(RIL) population lacking the Yr18 gene, a near-isogenic line(NIL) population was developed to map the resistance gene. An allstage resistance gene, YrAS1676, was identified on chromosome arm 1AL via bulked-segregant exomecapture sequencing. By analyzing a large NIL population consisting of 6537 plants, the gene was further mapped to the marker interval between KA1A_485.36 and KA1A_490.13, spanning 485.36–490.13 Mb on1AL. A total of 66 annotated genes have been reported in this region. To characterize and predict the candidate gene(s), an RNA-seq was performed using NIL-R and NIL-S seedlings 3 days after CYR34 inoculation. Compared to NIL-S plants, NIL-R plants showed stronger immune reaction and higher expression levels of genes encoding pathogenesis-associated proteins. These differences may help to explain why NIL-R plants were more resistant to Pst race CYR34 than NIL-S plants. By combining fine-mapping and transcriptome sequencing, a calcium-dependent protein kinase gene was finally predicted as the potential candidate gene of YrAS1676. This gene contained a single-nucleotide polymorphism. The candidate gene was more highly expressed in NIL-R than in NIL-S plants. In field experiments with Pst challenge,the YrAS1676 genotype showed mitigation of disease damage and yield loss without adverse effects on tested agronomic traits.
