2The use of phase-change cooling strategy in proton exchange membrane fuel cells:A numerical study显示文摘Thermal management is considered a critical issue in proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs),since it not only influences the cell performance but also impacts PEMFC’s reliability and durability.With the ever-increasing power density of PEMFC,traditional cooling approaches including air cooling and water cooling become difficult to meet the demand for highpower heat dissipation.Therefore,phase-change cooling is proposed for fuel cell application in this work,and the potential advantages are discussed and demonstrated via a mathematical model incorporating phase-change heat transfer.The thermal management performance is evaluated by temperature uniformity,maximum temperature difference,and the cooling capacity to compare the difference between phase-change cooling and traditional methods,which demonstrates that phase-change cooling owns a greatly improved thermal management performance.In addition,a simple method to broaden the operating temperature of phase-change cooling based on one certain coolant is offered,which is pressurizing in the coolant channel to regulate the boiling temperature that could further improve the application feasibility of phase-change cooling strategy in fuel cells.YAN XiaoHui PENG YiMeng SHEN YuanTing SHEN ShuiYun WEI GuangHua YIN JieWei ZHANG JunLiang 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,12:4
3The Impact of Phenotypic Characteristics on Thermoregulation in a Cold-Climate Agamid lizard,Phrynocephalus guinanensis显示文摘Physiological and metabolic processes of ectotherms are markedly influenced by ambient temperature. Previous studies have shown that the abdominal black-speckled area becomes larger with increased elevation in plateau Phrynocephalus, however, no studies have verified the hypothesis that this variation is correlated with the lizard's thermoregulation. In this study, infrared thermal imaging technology was first used to study the skin temperature variation of torsos, heads, limbs and tails of a cold-climate agamid lizard, Phrynocephalus guinanensis. The heating rates of the central abdominal black-speckled skin area and peripheral non-black-speckled skin area under solar radiation were compared. Our results showed that the heating rates of limbs and tails were relatively faster than the torsos, as heating time was extended, rates gradually slowed before stabilizing under solar radiation. Under the environment without solar radiation, the cooling rates of limbs and tails were also relatively faster than the torsos of lizards, the rates slowed down and finally became stable as the cooling time was extended. We also found that the heating rate of the abdominal black-speckled skin area was faster than the nearby non-black-speckled skin area. 4A Low-Power Low-Cost 780MHz CMOS FSK Receiver for Short-Range Wireless Communication显示文摘This paper presents a low-power low-cost780 MHz CMOS Frequency shift keying(FSK) receiver for short-range wireless communication. A current-reused Low power amplifier(LNA) and a single-balance passive mixer are employed to cut down the current consumption of the RF frontend in receiver. A 3rd-order active-RC complex filter with reconfigurable bandwidth is implemented and a novel automatic tuning circuit is used in the filter to eliminate the negative effect of the Process, voltage, temperature(PVT) variations. A novel replica-circuit master-slave automatic tuning circuit and a discrete-time differentiator are employed in demodulator to keep the demodulation performances from the PVT variations and the frequency offset of Intermediate frequency(IF). The receiver is fabricated in 0.18μm CMOS and occupies a chip area of about 0.97mm2. 5Activation of the bitter taste sensor TRPM5 prevents high saltinduced cardiovascular dysfunction显示文摘High salt intake is a known risk factor of cardiovascular diseases. Our recent study demonstrated that long-term high salt intake impairs transient receptor potential channel M5(TRPM5)-mediated aversion to high salt concentrations, consequently promoting high salt intake and hypertension;however, it remains unknown whether TRPM5 activation ameliorates cardiovascular dysfunction. Herein we found that bitter melon extract(BME) and cucurbitacin E(CuE), a major compound in BME, lowered high salt-induced hypertension. Long-term BME intake significantly enhanced the aversion to high salt concentrations by upregulating TRPM5 expression and function, eventually decreasing excessive salt consumption in mice. Moreover, dietary BME ameliorated high salt-induced cardiovascular dysfunction and angiotensin II-induced hypertension in vivo. The mechanistic evidence demonstrated that dietary BME inhibited high salt-induced RhoA/Rho kinase pathway overactivation, leading to reduced phosphorylation levels of myosin light chain kinase and myosin phosphatase targeting subunit 1. Furthermore, CuE inhibited vasoconstriction by attenuating L-type Ca^(2+) channel-induced Ca^(2+) influx in vascular smooth muscle cells. 16Face-centered cubic structured RuCu hollow urchin-like nanospheres enable remarkable hydrogen evolution catalysis显示文摘Ruthenium(Ru)is one of the most promising metals for its versatility in driving a wide range of catalytic reactions.However,owing to the intrinsic preference of hexagonal close-packed(hcp)phase for bulk Ru,currently,it is still challenging to construct Ru-based nanomaterials with face-centered-cubic(fcc)phase for optimizing their performance towards potential applications.Herein,we report a facile wet-chemical method to directly create unconventional fcc-structured Ru-copper hollow urchin-like nanospheres(fcc-RuCu HUNSs)as a class of efficient pH-universal hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)electrocatalyst.Interestingly,this synthetic strategy can be expanded to prepare other fcc-Ru-based alloy nanomaterials.Significantly,the novel fcc-RuCu HUNSs exhibit superior HER performance with the overpotential of only 25,34,40,and 26 m V to reach the current density of 10 mA cm^(-2)in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),0.05 M H_(2)SO_(4),0.1 M KOH,and 1 M KOH,respectively,much lower than those of hcpRuCu HUNSs and commercial Pt/C.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations further indicate that their excellent pH-universal HER performance results from the optimized adsorption free energy of H and work functions.Our work highlights the importance of phase control to design high-efficiency nanocatalysts for relevant catalytic reactions in energy conversion.Juntao Zhang Jiabo Le Yuanting Dong Lingzheng Bu Ying Zhang Jun Cheng Leigang Li Xiaoqing Huang 2022Science China Chemistry2022,65,1:1
