| 3 | Synthesis of Mg-Al-carbonate layered double hydroxide by an atom-economic reaction显示文摘A clean method for preparing layered double hydroxides (LDHs) has been developed, featured by using the hydroxides of two different metals as starting materials by atom-economic reactions. The reactions were carried out under hydrothermal conditions in either a high pressure autoclave or a microwave digester. The compositions, structural parameters and thermal behavior of the resulting LDHs are very similar to those of materials produced by using the separate nucleation and aging steps (SNAS) method. The major advantage of the new method is that no by-product is produced, so that filtration and washing processes are unnecessary. | 4 | High Temperature Catalytic Hydrogenation of Acetone over Raney Ni for Chemical Heat Pump显示文摘Exothermic hydrogenation reaction of acetone is an important part of an IAH-CHP, and the performance of IAH-CHP is affected directly by this reaction. This paper studies the influence of space velocity, temperature, hydrogen flow rate and pressure on conversion and selectivity experimentally. The byproducts are analyzed and classified into three types: hydrogenation product, cracking products and condensation products. Both the conversion and selectivity of this reaction have the same trend with the change of space velocity, temperature and hydrogen flow rate, and has the opposite trend with the change of pressure. As the space velocity increases, the conversion curve is a gradual decline parabola but the selectivity curve is close to a straight line. Hydrogen flow rate has a more obvious influence on conversion than temperature, whereas on selectivity the situation is opposite. | 5 | Smoke suppressant in flame retarded thermoplastic polyurethane composites: Synergistic effect and mechanism study显示文摘Considerable smoke and toxic volatiles generation has compromised the application of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and caused a great threat to human life. Here, nano-MgFe layered double hydroxide (MgFe-LDH) with uniform particle size was synthesized to reduce smoke density and toxic gases of TPU composites using ammonium polyphosphate (APP) as a flame retardant agent. The results show that the combination of 16 wt.% APP and 4 wt.% MgFe-LDH greatly decreased the smoke density (D20min and Ds, max), smoke production rate (SPR) and heat release rate (HRR) of TPU composites. Furthermore, the MgFe-LDH synergist demonstrated high efficiency in decreasing total volatiled products and toxic volatiles evolved, such as the CO, HCN and isocyanates. The reason was mainly attributed to the chemical reaction between MgFe-LDH and APP, which can promote the compactness of char layers with fine microstructure formed in the decomposition process of MgFe-LDH/APP/TPU composites. | 11 | A review and comparison of surface incident shortwave radiation from multiple data sources: satellite retrievals, reanalysis data and GCM simulations显示文摘Surface incident shortwave radiation(Rs)can promote the circulation of substance and energy,and the accuracy of its estimation is of great significance for climate studies.The Rs can be acquired from satellite retrievals,reanalysis predictions and general circulation model(GCM)simulations.Although Rs estimates have been evaluated and compared in previous studies,most of them focus on evaluating the Rs estimates over specific regions using ground measurements from limited stations.Therefore,it is essential to comprehensively validate Rs estimates from multiple data sources.In this study,ground measurements of 690 stations from BSRN,GEBA,CMA,GC-NET and buoys were employed to validate the Rs estimates from seven representative products(GLASS,GEWEX-SRB,CERES-EBAF,ERA5,MERRA2,CFSR and CMIP6).The validation results indicated that the selected products overestimated Rs globally,with biases ranged from 0.48 to 21.27 W/m^(2).The satellite retrievals showed relatively better accuracy among seven datasets compared to ground measurements at the selected stations.Moreover,the selected seven products were all in poor accuracy at high-latitude regions with RMSEs greater than 50 W/m^(2).The long-term variation trends were also analyzed in this study. | Shuyue Yang Xiaotong Zhang Shikang Guan Wenbo Zhao Yanjun Duan Yunjun Yao Kun Jia Bo Jiang | 2023 | International Journal of Digital Earth2023,16,1: | 1 |

In this work, an exothermic fixed-bed reactor model, taking into account the actual packing structure, is established in the commercial software Fluent. A 120°segment of a tube with tube-to-particle diameter ratio(n) of4, where realistic particles are packed and set to porous media, is used to simulate the 3D external flow, concentration and temperature fields in the exothermic packed-bed reactor. The influence of catalyst particle diameter(dp) and micropore diameter(d0) on the intra-particle temperature,species distribution, reaction rate and selectivity is discussed. The appropriate dpand d0 are obtained. Simulation results showed that intra-particle temperature gradient is not obvious. Large dpand small d0 lead to remarkable gradient of reaction rate inside the catalyst particle and the decrease in the catalyst efficiency and reduce the acetone conversion and the selectivity in isopropanol. | 15 | An Objective Approach to Generating Multi-Physics Ensemble Precipitation Forecasts Based on the WRF Model显示文摘Selecting proper parameterization scheme combinations for a particular application is of great interest to the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model users.This study aims to develop an objective method for identifying a set of scheme combinations to form a multi-physics ensemble suitable for short-range precipitation forecasting in the Greater Beijing area.The ensemble is created by using statistical techniques and some heuristics.An initial sample of 90 scheme combinations was first generated by using Latin hypercube sampling(LHS).Then,after several rounds of screening,a final ensemble of 40 combinations were chosen.The ensemble forecasts generated for both the training and verification cases using these combinations were evaluated based on several verification metrics,including threat score(TS),Brier score(BS),relative operating characteristics(ROC),and ranked probability score(RPS).The results show that TS of the final ensemble improved by 9%-33%over that of the initial ensemble.The reliability was improved for rain≤10 mm day^-1,but decreased slightly for rain>10 mm day^-1 due to insufficient samples.The resolution remained about the same.The final ensemble forecasts were better than that generated from randomly sampled scheme combinations.These results suggest that the proposed approach is an effective way to select a multi-physics ensemble for generating accurate and reliable forecasts. | Chenwei SHEN Qingyun DUAN Wei GONG Yanjun GAN Zhenhua DI Chen WANG Shiguang MIAO | 2020 | Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3: | 0 |
| 16 | Evolution of economic linkage network of the cities and counties on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains,China显示文摘The exchanges between cities and counties in the northern slope economic belt of Tianshan Mountains(NSEBTM)are increasingly frequent and the economic linkages are increasingly close,but the spatial distribution of economic development and linkages among the cities and counties within NSEBTM is uneven.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the evolution of spatial-temporal pattern of the economic linkage network of cities and counties on NSEBTM to promote the coordinated and integrated development of the regional economy on NSEBTM.In this study,we used the modified gravity model and social network analysis method to analyze the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics of the economic linkage network structure of cities and counties on NSEBTM in 2000,2010,and 2020.The results showed that the comprehensive development quality level of cities and counties on NSEBTM increased from 2000 to 2020,its growth rate also increased,and its gap between cities and counties continued expanding.Both the spatial distribution patterns of the comprehensive development quality level of cities and counties on NSEBTM in 2000 and 2010 were presented as“high in the middle and low at both ends”,while the spatial distribution pattern of 2020 was exhibited as“high value and low value staggered”.The total amount of external economic linkages of cities and counties on NSEBTM showed an obvious upward trend,and its gap between cities and counties continued expanding,presenting a pattern of“a strong middle section and weak ends”.The direction of economic linkages of NSEBTM existed obvious central orientation and geographical proximity.The density of economic linkage network of NSEBTM increased from 2000 to 2020,and the structure of economic linkage network changed from single-core structure centered with Urumqi City to multicore structure centered with Urumqi City,Karamay City,Shihezi City,and Changji City,shifting from unbalanced development to balanced development.In the future,we should accelerate the construction of urban agglomeration on NSEBTM,cultivate a modern Urumqi metropolitan area,improve comprehensive development quality of the cities and counties at the eastern and western ends,strengthen the intensity of economic linkages between cities and counties,optimize the economic linkage network,and promote the coordinated and integrated development of regional economy. | YANG Zeyu ZHANG Shubao LEI Jun ZHANG Xiaolei TONG Yanjun DUAN Zuliang FAN Liqin | 2023 | Regional Sustainability2023,4,2: | 0 |
| 17 | Temporal and spatial responses of ecological resilience to climate change and human activities in the economic belt on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains, China显示文摘In the Anthropocene era,human activities have become increasingly complex and diversified.The natural ecosystems need higher ecological resilience to ensure regional sustainable development due to rapid urbanization and industrialization as well as other intensified human activities,especially in arid and semi-arid areas.In the study,we chose the economic belt on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains(EBNSTM)in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China as a case study.By collecting geographic data and statistical data from 2010 and 2020,we constructed an ecological resilience assessment model based on the ecosystem habitat quality(EHQ),ecosystem landscape stability(ELS),and ecosystem service value(ESV).Further,we analyzed the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of ecological resilience in the EBNSTM from 2010 to 2020 by spatial autocorrelation analysis,and explored its responses to climate change and human activities using the geographically weighted regression(GWR)model.The results showed that the ecological resilience of the EBNSTM was at a low level and increased from 0.2732 to 0.2773 during 2010–2020.The spatial autocorrelation analysis of ecological resilience exhibited a spatial heterogeneity characteristic of'high in the western region and low in the eastern region',and the spatial clustering trend was enhanced during the study period.Desert,Gobi and rapidly urbanized areas showed low level of ecological resilience,and oasis and mountain areas exhibited high level of ecological resilience.Climate factors had an important impact on ecological resilience.Specifically,average annual temperature and annual precipitation were the key climate factors that improved ecological resilience,while average annual evapotranspiration was the main factor that blocked ecological resilience.Among the human activity factors,the distance from the main road showed a negative correlation with ecological resilience.Both night light index and PM2.5 concentration were negatively correlated with ecological resilience in the areas with better ecological conditions,whereas in the areas with poorer ecological conditions,the correlations were positive.The research findings could provide a scientific reference for protecting the ecological environment and promoting the harmony and stability of the human-land relationship in arid and semi-arid areas. | ZHANG Shubao LEI Jun TONG Yanjun ZHANG Xiaolei LU Danni FAN Liqin DUAN Zuliang | 2023 | Journal of Arid Land2023,15,10: | 0 |

| 19 | Charge-reversible crosslinked nanoparticle for pro-apoptotic peptide delivery and synergistic photodynamic cancer therapy显示文摘Although anti-cancer nanotherapeutics have made breakthroughs,many remain clinically unsatisfactory due to limited delivery efficiency and complicated biological barriers.Here,we prepared charge-reversible crosslinked nanoparticles(PDC NPs)by supramolecular self-assembly of pro-apoptotic peptides and photosensitizers,followed by crosslinking the self-assemblies with polyethylene glycol to impart tumor microenvironment responsiveness and charge-reversibility.The resultant PDC NPs have a high drug loading of 68.3%,substantially exceeding that of 10%–15%in conventional drug delivery systems.PDC NPs can overcome the delivery hurdles to significantly improve the tumor accumulation and endocytosis of payloads by surface charge reversal and responsive crosslinking strategy.Pro-apoptotic peptides target the mitochondrial membranes and block the respiratory effect to reduce local oxygen consumption,which extensively augments oxygen-dependent photodynamic therapy(PDT).The photosensitizers around mitochondria increased along with the peptides,allowing PDT to work with pro-apoptotic peptides synergistically to induce tumor cell death by mitochondria-dependent apoptotic pathways.Our strategy would provide a valuable reference for improving the delivery efficiency of hydrophilic peptides and developing mitochondrial-targeting cancer therapies. | Haijing Qu Han Chen Wei Cheng Yuqing Pan Zhiran Duan Yanjun Wang Xing-Jie Liang Xiangdong Xue | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,12: | 0 |
