| 1 | Antimony smelting process generating solid wastes and dust:Characterization and leaching behaviors显示文摘A large amount of solid waste has been produced by the antimony smelting process in the'World Capital of Antimony', Xikuangshan area in China. This study comprehensively investigated the physical and chemical characteristics of the various solid wastes, as well as the leaching behavior of the solid wastes, which included water-quenched slag,arsenic-alkali residue, desulfurized slag and blast furnace dust. These four types of waste were enriched in a variety of heavy metals and metalloids and more specifically with As and Sb levels up to 8.6 × 104 and 3.16 × 105mg/kg, respectively, in arsenic-alkali residue. For desulfurized slag and water-quenched slag, the leaching concentration of Sb significantly exceeded the acceptable limits during the leaching tests using the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure and the synthetic precipitation leaching procedure. In addition, As leaching in arsenic-alkali residue was extraordinarily hazardous, being three orders of magnitude higher than the regulatory level of As. | 3 | Detection and characterization of diverse alpha-and betacoronaviruses from bats in China显示文摘Bats have been implicated as important reservoir hosts of alpha- and betacoronaviruses. In this study, diverse coronaviruses(CoVs) were detected in 50 of 951(positive rate 5.3%) intestinal specimens of eight bat species collected in four provinces and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China by pan-coronavirus RT-PCR screening. Based on 400-nt RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(Rd RP) sequence analysis, eight belonged to genus Alphacoronavirus and 42 to Betacoronavirus.Among the 50 positive specimens, thirteen gave rise to CoV full-length Rd RP gene amplification for further sequence comparison, of which three divergent sequences(two from a unreported province) were subjected to full genome sequencing. Two complete genomes of betacoronaviruses(JTMC15 and JPDB144) and one nearly-complete genome of alphacoronavirus(JTAC2) were sequenced and their genomic organization predicted. The present study has identified additional numbers of genetically diverse bat-borne coronaviruses with a wide distribution in China. | 4 | Evaluating Soil Dissolved Organic Matter Extraction Using Three-Dimensional Excitation-Emission Matrix Fluorescence Spectroscopy显示文摘Soil dissolved organic matter(DOM) consists of many organic compounds and plays an important role in contaminant transport in the ecosystem. However, the effects of different extraction conditions on contents of different DOM components are poorly understood.We extracted DOM from three soils using different extraction times, solid to liquid ratios(SLR), and extraction solution(KCl)concentrations, and evaluated the extractions using three-dimensional excitation-emission matrix(EEM) fluorescence spectroscopy.The sum of the contents of the main DOM components(protein-, fulvic-, and humic-like compounds) increased by 0.6–3.5, 2.5–3.9,and 0.11–0.37 times(P < 0.05) when SLR decreased from 1:2 to 1:10, the extraction solution concentration increased from 0.01 to 1.5 mol L^(-1), and extraction time increased from 10 to 300 min, respectively. | 5 | Green and efficient degradation of cefoperazone sodium by Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) leading to the production of non-toxic products:Performance and degradation pathway显示文摘Photocatalytic process represents a promising approach to overcome the pollution challenge associated with the antibiotics-containing wastewater.This study provides a green,efficient and novel approach to remove cephalosporins,particularly cefoperazone sodium(CFP).Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) was chosen for the first time to systematically study its degradation for CFP,including the analysis of material structure,degradation performance,the structure and toxicity of the transformation products,etc.The degradation rate results indicated that Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) had an excellent catalytic activity leading to 78%CFP removal compared with the pure BiOBr(38%)within 120 min of visible light irradiation.In addition,the Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) presents high stability and good organic carbon removal efficiency.The effects of the solution p H(3.12-8.75)on catalytic activity revealed that CFP was mainly photocatalyzed under acidic conditions and hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions.Combined with active species and degradation product identification,the photocatalytic degradation pathways of CFP by Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) was proposed,including hydrolysis,oxidation,reduction and decarboxylation.Most importantly,the identified products were all hydrolysis rather than oxidation byproducts transformed from the intermediate ofβ-lactam bond cleavage in CFP molecule,quite different from the mostly previous studies.Furthermore,the final products were demonstrated to be less toxic through the toxicity analysis.Overall,this study illustrates the detailed mechanism of CFP degradation by Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) and confirms Bi_(4)O_(5)Br_(2) to be a promising material for the photodegradation of CFP. | Yingying Chen Ruiping Li Yan Gu Hailin Tian Yingping Huang Junsong Chen Yanfen Fang Changying Yang | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2: | 4 |

| 7 | Tree species classification using deep learning and RGB optical images obtained by an unmanned aerial vehicle显示文摘The diversity of tree species and the complexity of land use in cities create challenging issues for tree species classification.The combination of deep learning methods and RGB optical images obtained by unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) provides a new research direction for urban tree species classification.We proposed an RGB optical image dataset with 10 urban tree species,termed TCC10,which is a benchmark for tree canopy classification(TCC).TCC10 dataset contains two types of data:tree canopy images with simple backgrounds and those with complex backgrounds.The objective was to examine the possibility of using deep learning methods(AlexNet,VGG-16,and ResNet-50) for individual tree species classification.The results of convolutional neural networks(CNNs) were compared with those of K-nearest neighbor(KNN) and BP neural network.Our results demonstrated:(1) ResNet-50 achieved an overall accuracy(OA) of 92.6% and a kappa coefficient of 0.91 for tree species classification on TCC10 and outperformed AlexNet and VGG-16.(2) The classification accuracy of KNN and BP neural network was less than70%,while the accuracy of CNNs was relatively higher.(3)The classification accuracy of tree canopy images with complex backgrounds was lower than that for images with simple backgrounds.For the deciduous tree species in TCC10,the classification accuracy of ResNet-50 was higher in summer than that in autumn.Therefore,the deep learning is effective for urban tree species classification using RGB optical images. | Chen Zhang Kai Xia Hailin Feng Yinhui Yang Xiaochen Du | 2021 | Journal of Forestry Research2021,32,5: | 3 |

| 9 | Rheological responses of fumed silica suspensions under steady and oscillatory shear显示文摘Rheological experiments under steady and oscillatory shear were conducted for fumed silica suspen- sions in polyethylene glycol. Under steady shear the shear-thinning and thickening response were exhibited and the flow exponent N was determined. With the increase of concentration the flow exponent N showed a rapid increase, and it increased dramatically when the discontinuous shear-thickening took place. Oscillatory shear experiments were conducted at constant frequency and constant amplitude strain, respectively. The shear-thinning and the discontinuous shear-thickening behavior were observed under different constant frequencies from 10 to 80 rad/s. The correlation between complex modulus (G*) and sweep frequency (ω) was illuminated at γ =750%. It was found that the correlation between G* and ω could be fitted by equation: G*∝ωn. The indexes in shear-thinning region and shear-thickening were determined. The indexes were similar to some extent at shear-thinning region and increased dramati- cally to a much higher value when the shear-thickening occurred,especially at higher weight fractions. | 11 | Towards carbon neutrality:A study on China's long-term low-carbon transition pathways and strategies显示文摘As the world's biggest carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emitter and the largest developing country,China faces daunting challenges to peak its emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality within 40 years.This study fully considered the carbon-neutrality goal and the temperature rise constraints required by the Paris Agreement,by developing six long-term development scenarios,and conducting a quantitative evaluation on the carbon emissions pathways,energy transformation,technology,policy and investment demand for each scenario.This study combined both bottom-up and top-down methodologies,including simulations and analyses of energy consumption of end-use and power sectors(bottom-up),as well as scenario analysis,investment demand and technology evaluation at the macro level(top-down).This study demonstrates that achieving carbon neutrality before 2060 translates to significant efforts and overwhelming challenges for China.To comply with the target,a high rate of an average annual reduction of CO_(2) emissions by 9.3%from 2030 to 2050 is a necessity,which requires a huge investment demand.For example,in the 1.5℃ scenario,an investment in energy infrastructure alone equivalent to 2.6%of that year's GDP will be necessary.The technological pathway towards carbon neutrality will rely highly on both conventional emission reduction technologies and breakthrough technologies.China needs to balance a long-term development strategy of lower greenhouse gas emissions that meets both the Paris Agreement and the long-term goals for domestic economic and social development,with a phased implementation for both its five-year and long-term plans. | Jiankun He Zheng Li Xiliang Zhang Hailin Wang Wenjuan Dong Ershun Du Shiyan Chang Xunmin Ou Siyue Guo Zhiyu Tian Alun Gu Fei Teng Bin Hu Xiu Yang Siyuan Chen Mingtao Yao Zhiyi Yuan Li Zhou Xiaofan Zhao Ying Li Danwei Zhang | 2022 | Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2022,,1: | 2 |

The composite wire constructs a serial LC resonant element by itself. Due to the LC resonance, very large high-frequency magneto-reactance effect is observed at near the LC resonance frequency, and the maximal magneto-reactance ratio for the composite wire with length of 5 cm is 1.08×107% at 58924500 Hz. The LC resonance frequency decreases with the increasing length of the composite wire. The practical working frequency, at which the very large high-frequency magneto-reactance effect is observed, can be controlled through controlling the LC resonance frequency. | 14 | CT radiomics can help screen the coronavirus disease2019(COVID-19): a preliminary study显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) is raging across the world.The radiomics,which explores huge amounts of features from medical image for disease diagnosis,may help the screen of the COVID-19.In this study,we aim to develop a radiomic signature to screen COVID-19 from CT images.We retrospectively collect 75 pneumonia patients from Beijing Youan Hospital,including 46 patients with COVID-19 and 29 other types of pneumonias.These patients are divided into training set(n = 50) and test set(n = 25) at random.We segment the lung lesions from the CT images,and extract 77 radiomic features from the lesions.Then unsupervised consensus clustering and multiple cross-validation are utilized to select the key features that are associated with the COVID-19.In the experiments,while twenty-three radiomic features are found to be highly associated with COVID-19,four key features are screened and used as the inputs of support vector machine to build the radiomic signature.We use area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC) and calibration curve to assess the performance of our model.It yields AUCs of 0.862 and 0.826 in the training set and the test set respectively.We also perform the stratified analysis and find that its predictive ability is not affected by gender,age,chronic disease and degree of severity.In conclusion,we investigate the value of radiomics in screening COVID-19,and the experimental results suggest the radiomic signature could be a potential tool for diagnosis of COVID-19. | Mengjie FANG Bingxi HE Li LI Di DONG Xin YANG Cong LI Lingwei MENG Lianzhen ZHONG Hailin LI Hongjun LI Jie TIAN | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,7: | 2 |

The resulsts showed that 17 species of plants were both infected by B. cinerea and damaged by toxins,accounting for 56.7% of the total plants. Two species of plants could be neither infected by B. cinerea nor damaged by toxins. | 16 | Identification of glycerophospholipid fatty acid remodeling by using mass spectrometry imaging in bisphenol S induced mouse liver显示文摘Bisphenol A(BPA) plays an important role in metabolic disorders. As a major alternative to BPA, it is unclear whether the exposure of bisphenol S(BPS) may result in lipidome disturbance. Using a mouse model, we investigated the effects of BPS exposure on metabolism and spatial distribution of lipids by using lipidomics analysis and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization(MALDI)-mass spectrometry imaging(MSI) in mouse liver tissues. Lipid metabolites displayed significant up-regulation in phosphatidylethanolamines(PE), lysophosphatidylcholines(LPC), lysophosphatidylethanolamines(LPE) and lysophosphatidylserine(LPS) as well as remarkable down-regulation in phosphatidylcholine(PC) and phosphatidylserine(PS) in mouse liver after the exposure at 100 m g BPS/kg body weight/day.The obtained results indicated that the lipidome of liver was perturbed significantly in glycerophospholipid(GP) fatty acid remodeling pathway upon the BPS exposure. We applied MSI and multivariate statistical analysis to evaluate the abundance variation of lipid markers in BPS-treated liver sections and to compare with the analytical results from olive oil-treated liver sections. Differential structural lipids with up-regulated PE(20:1/20:4), LPC(20:4), LPE(20:4), LPS(33:4) and down-regulated PC(20:4/22:6)and PS(18:0/22:6), which were related to GP fatty acid remodeling, changed and co-localized in the liver sections. To explore the cause of variation of lipid abundance, expression of enzymes that regulate biosynthesis and metabolism of fatty acid in liver tissues were analyzed. Consistent with the results of liver lipidome and spatial distribution, a decrease in hepatic expression of LPC acyltransferase 1(LPCAT1),LPCAT2 and LPS acyltransferase and an increase expression of LPCAT3, LPCAT4, LPE acyltransferase 1(LPEAT1), LPEAT2 and phospholipase A2 s were observed in GP fatty acid remodeling pathway.
