1Performances evaluation of four typical unmanned aerial vehicles used for pesticide application in China显示文摘In recent years,unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)for plant protection have achieved rapid development in China.In order to test and evaluate the performances of pesticides application and development status of UAVs in China,four typical UAV models were selected to test the spraying coverage,penetrability,droplets density and the work efficiency.The results showed that the deposition and spraying liquid coverage were inconsistent both in lateral and longitudinal direction.Under the condition of the similar amount of spray volume and operation parameters,the volume median diameter(VMD)of the droplet was negatively correlated with the coverage density.The failure of the UAVs for plant protection mainly took up on the blockage of nozzle,transfusion tube and the liquid pump.The failure rate of UAVs took up 3.73%-4.36%of the total working time.The operation of UAVs during ground service took up 50%of the total working time,the preparation work took up 10%,and the route planning took up around 10%,while net operation time only took up around 30%.On the whole,the high efficiency of UAV was not fully achieved;the daily operated area was not in a satisfactory level now.The spraying performances of UAVs still need further improvement.Wang Shilin Song Jianli He Xiongkui Song Le Wang Xiaonan Wang Changling Wang Zhichong Ling Yun 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,4:25

3Gas Hydrates in the Qilian Mountain Permafrost, Qinghai, Northwest China显示文摘Qilian Mountain permafrost, with area about 10×104 km2, locates in the north of Qinghai-Tibet plateau. It equips with perfect conditions and has great prospecting potential for gas hydrate. The Scientific Drilling Project of Gas Hydrate in Qilian Mountain permafrost, which locates in Juhugeng of Muri Coalfield, Tianjun County, Qinghai Province, has been implemented by China Geological Survey in 2008–2009. Four scientific drilling wells have been completed with a total footage of 2059.13 m. Samples of gas hydrate are collected separately from holes DK-1, DK-2 and DK-3. Gas hydrate is hosted under permafrost zone in the 133–396 m interval. The sample is white crystal and easily burning. Anomaly low temperature has been identified by the infrared camera. The gas hydrate-bearing cores strongly bubble in the water. Gas-bubble and water-drop are emitted from the hydrate-bearing cores and then characteristic of honeycombed structure is left. The typical spectrum curve of gas hydrate is detected using Raman spectrometry. Furthermore, the logging profile also indicates high electrical resistivity and sonic velocity. 5Genome Editing Enables Next-Generation Hybrid Seed Production Technology显示文摘The next-generation hybrid seed technology enables the successful production of sortable hybrid seeds from genic male sterile(GMS)lines and maintainers;however,it requires multiple laborious and complicated steps.Here,we designed a simple next-generation hybrid seed production strategy that takes advantage of the CRISPR/Cas9 technology to create a Manipulated GMS Maintainer(MGM)system via a single transformation.Under this schema,the maize male fertility gene ZmMS26 was nullified by removal of its fifth exon using the CRISPR/Cas9 system on a vector,and a second vector carrying a functional ZmMS26 cDNA was co-transformed to restore fertility.The second vector also contains a male gametophyte inactivation gene(ZmAA1)encoding maizeα-amylase driven by the pollen-specific promoter PG47 and an endosperm fluorescent marker(DsRED)driven by the barley endosperm aleurone-specific promoter Ltp2.The derived single-copy hemizygous MGM lines bore a mutated MS26 gene,leading to complete male sterility but normal vegetative growth and grain yield.The MGM system could prevent genetic transmission of the MGM elements via male gametophytes,providing an efficient method for sorting maintainer seeds labeled by DsRED.This strategy can be extended to any GMS gene and to hybrid crops other than maize.Xiantao Qi Congsheng Zhang Jinjie Zhu Changlin Liu Changling Huang Xinhai Li Chuanxiao Xie 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:18
6Heavy Metal Runoff in Relation to Soil Characteristics显示文摘Cu, Zn, Pb and Hg runoff from yellow limestone soil and purple soils and the relationships between the mobility of the heavy metals and the soil characteristics were studied in laboratory using a rainfall simulator. The results showed that the concentrations of soluble Zn in surface runoff were significantly negatively correlated with the contents of <0.002 mm particles and CEC of the soils, indicating that Zn was mostly adsorbed by clays in the soils. The contents of Cu and Hg in surface runoff were positively related to their contents in the soils. 8Robust adaptive fault-tolerant control of a tandem coaxial ducted fan aircraft with actuator saturation显示文摘This paper is concerned with the robust adaptive fault-tolerant control of a tandem coaxial ducted fan aircraft under system uncertainty, mismatched disturbance, and actuator saturation.For the proposed aircraft, comprehensive controllability analysis is performed to evaluate the controllability of each state as well as the margin to reject mismatched disturbance without any knowledge of the controller. Mismatched disturbance attenuation is ensured through a structured Hinfinity controller tuned by a non-smooth optimization algorithm. Embedded with the H-infinity controller, an adaptive control law is proposed in order to mitigate matched system uncertainty and actuator fault. Input saturation is also considered by the modified reference model. Numerical simulation of the novel ducted fan aircraft is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 9Testing method and distribution characteristics of spatial pesticide spraying deposition quality balance for unmanned aerial vehicle显示文摘In order to explore the spatial pesticide spraying deposition distribution,the downwash flow field characteristics for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)pesticide application with accurate flight height and velocity and the relationship of these two aspects,a novel measurement method was proposed in this paper.A model‘3WQF80-10’single-rotor diesel UAV was tested using this method in wheat field and the effects of flight direction,flight parameters and crosswind on the distribution of spatial spraying deposition quality balance(SSDQB)and the downwash flow field distribution were researched.A cuboid aluminum sampling frame of spatial spraying deposition quality balance(SFSSDQB)with monofilament wires was made for collecting the droplets in four directions,and a set of multi-channel micro-meteorology measurement system(MMMS)was applied for measuring the downwash wind speed in three directions.Besides,BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BNSS)was used for controlling and recording the working height,velocity and track of this model of single-rotor UAV.The results showed the distribution of the spatial spray deposition and the downwash flow field of UAV could be measured effectively at exact flight height and velocity via this method.When the average wind speed was 0.9 m/s,the average temperature was 31.5℃ and the average relative humidity was 34.1%,and the average distribution ratios of spraying deposition for model‘3WQF80-10’UAV on the upwind part,the top part,the downwind part and the bottom part were 4.4%,2.3%,50.4%and 43.7%,respectively.The flight directions of forward and backward had an impact on droplet deposition distribution and the working effect of flying backwards,with 60%of deposition ratio of the bottom part of the SFSSDQB,was better than flying forward.There was a linear negative correlation between the coefficient of variation(CV)of the bottom part and the flight height and the coefficient of determination was 0.9178,which means that the deposition distribution becomes more uniform with the increase of height.Additionally,there was a linear positive correlation between weighted mean deposition rate and crosswind speed and the coefficient of determination was 0.9684,which shows the deposition distribution gets more concentrated towards the downwind part with the rise of crosswind speed.Therefore,according to the results of tests of downwash airflow speed,it is shown that regardless of the flight direction and height and the crosswind,all these factors influence the droplet deposition distribution via weakening the intensity of the downwash airflow field in the direction perpendicular to the ground.The results can provide valuable information for the research of UAV pesticide application techniques and the establishment of the standard of spraying deposition and drift tests of UAV in crop field.Changling Wang Xiongkui He Xiaonan Wang Zhichong Wang Shilin Wang Longlong Li Jane Bonds Andreas Herbst Zhiguo Wang 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2:14
10Rare earth element and yttrium compositions of the Paleoproterozoic Yuanjiacun BIF in the Lüliang area and their implications for the Great Oxidation Event(GOE)显示文摘In China, most Precambrian banded iron formations(BIFs) are situated in the North China Craton. The Yuanjiacun iron deposit, located in the Lüliang area, is arguably the most representative Superior-type BIF. This iron deposit is coherent with the sedimentary rock succession of the Yuanjiacun Formation in the lower Lüliang Group, and was interpreted to be deposited at 2.3–2.1 Ga, based on ages of overlying and underlying volcanic strata. This age overlaps with the time range of the Great Oxidation Event(GOE, 2.4–2.2 Ga). The Yuanjiacun BIF consists mainly of subhedral-xenomorphic magnetite and quartz and rarely other minerals with a lower degree of metamorphism, from greenschist to lower amphibolite facies. The geochemical characteristics of this BIF are similar to those of Superior-type BIFs. Prominent positive La, Y, and Eu anomalies normalized by the Post Archean Australian Shale(PAAS) indicate that the primary chemical precipitate is a result of solutions that represent mixtures of seawater and high-T hydrothermal fluids. The contamination from crustal detritus found is negligible based on low abundances of Al2O3 and TiO2(<0.5%) and of trace elements such as Th, Hf, Zr, and Sc(<1.5 ppm), as well as the lack of co-variations between Al2O3 and TiO2. In particular, the Yuanjiacun BIF samples do not display significant negative Ce anomalies like those of the Archean iron formations, but rather, the Yuanjiacun BIF samples exhibit prominent positive Ce anomalies, low Y/Ho ratios, and high light to heavy REE((Pr/Yb)SN) ratios, which are essentially consistent with the late Paleoproterozoic(<2.0 Ga) BIFs around the world. These characteristics of the Yuanjiacun BIF samples imply that the ancient ocean(2.3–2.1 Ga) was redox-stratified from oxic shallow water to deeper anoxic water. The specific redox conditions of the ancient ocean may be related to the GOE, which gave rise to the oxidation of Ce and Mn in the upper water, and to the presence of a Mn oxide shuttle in the ocean, resulting in varying REE patterns due to the precipitation and dissolution of this Mn oxide shuttle under different redox states. 11Undrained shear strength evaluation for hydrate-bearing sediment overlying strata in the Shenhu area, northern South China Sea显示文摘The undrained shear strength of shallow strata is a critical parameter for safety design in deep-water operations.In situ piezocone penetration tests(CPTU) and laboratory experiments are performed at Site W18-19 in the Shenhu area, northern South China Sea, where China's first marine hydrate exploitation operation is due to be located. The validation of the undrained shear strength prediction model based on CPTU parameters. Different laboratory tests, including pocket penetrometer, torvane, miniature vane and unconsolidated undrained triaxial tests, are employed to solve empirical cone coefficients by statistical and mathematical methods. Finally, an optimized model is proposed to describe the longitudinal distribution of undrained shear strength in calcareous clay strata in the Shenhu area. Research results reveal that average empirical cone coefficients based on total cone resistance, effective resistance, and excess-pore pressure are 13.8, 4.2 and 14.4, respectively. The undrained shear strength prediction model shows a good fit with the laboratory results only within specific intervals based on their compaction degree and gas-bearing conditions. The optimized prediction model in piecewise function format can be used to describe the longitudinal distribution of the undrained shear strength for calcareous clay within all depth intervals from the mud-line to the upper boundary of hydrate-bearing sediments(HBS). The optimized prediction result indicates that the effective cone resistance model is suitable for very soft to firm calcareous clays,the excess-pore pressure model can depict the undrained shear strength for firm to very stiff but gas-free clays,while the total cone resistance model is advantageous for evaluating the undrained shear strength for very stiff and gassy clays. The optimized model in piecewise function format can considerably improve the adaptability of empirical models for calcareous clay in the Shenhu area. 12Synthetical Efficiency-based Optimization for the Power Distribution of Power-split Hybrid Electric Vehicles显示文摘Now the optimization strategies for power distribution are researched widely,and most of them are aiming to the optimal fuel economy and the driving cycle must be preknown.Thus if the actual driving condition deviates from the scheduled driving cycle,the effect of optimal results will be declined greatly.Therefore,the instantaneous optimization strategy carried out on-line is studied in this paper.The power split path and the transmission efficiency are analyzed based on a special power-split scheme and the efficiency models of the power transmitting components are established.The synthetical efficiency optimization model is established for enhancing the transmission efficiency and the fuel economy.The identification of the synthetical efficiency as the optimization objective and the constrain group are discussed emphatically.The optimization is calculated by the adaptive simulated annealing(ASA)algorithm and realized on-line by the radial basis function(RBF)-based similar models.The optimization for power distribution of the hybrid vehicle in an actual driving condition is carried out and the road test results are presented.The test results indicate that the synthetical efficiency optimization method can enhance the transmission efficiency and the fuel economy of the power-split hybrid electric vehicle(HEV)observably.Compared to the rules-based strategy the optimization strategy is optimal and achieves the approximate global optimization solution for the power distribution.The synthetical efficiency optimization solved by ASA algorithm can give attentions to both optimization quality and calculation efficiency,thus it has good application foreground for the power distribution of power-split HEV.WANG Weida HAN Lijin XIANG Changle MA Yue LIU Hui 2014Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2014,27,1:12
13Monkeypox virus:a re-emergent threat to humans显示文摘Human monkeypox(MPX)is a rare zoonotic infection characterized by smallpox-like signs and symptoms.It is caused by monkeypox virus(MPXV),a double stranded DNA virus belonging to the genus Orthopoxvirus.MPX was first identified in 1970 and mostly prevailed in the rural rainforests of Central and West Africa in the past.Outside Africa,MPX was reported in the United Kingdom,the USA,Israel,and Singapore.In 2022,the resurgence of MPX in Europe and elsewhere posed a potential threat to humans.MPXV was transmitted by the animals-human or human-human pathway,and the symptoms of MPXV infection are similar to that of smallpox,but in a milder form and with lower mortality(1%–10%).Although the smallpox vaccination has been shown to provide 85%protection against MPXV infection,and two anti-smallpox virus drugs have been approved to treat MPXV,there are still no specific vaccines and drugs against MPXV infection.Therefore it is urgent to take active measures including the adoption of novel anti-MPXV strategies to control the spread of MPXV and prevent MPX epidemic.In this review,we summarize the biological features,epidemiology,pathogenicity,laboratory diagnosis,and prevention and treatment strategies on MPXV.This review provides the basic knowledge for prevention and control of future outbreaks of this emerging infection.Qizan Gong Changle Wang Xia Chuai Sandra Chiu 2022Virologica Sinica2022,37,4:12
14Cooperative effects of hydrogen sulfide and nitric oxide on delaying softening and decay of strawberry显示文摘Hydrogen sulfide(H2S)and nitric oxide(NO)as two signal molecules play prominent roles in plant response to biotic stress.The combination effects of these two molecules on ripening and decay of postharvest strawberry were investigated.Strawberries were first dipped in distilled water,0.8 mmol/L NaHS solution,5μmmol/L sodium nitroprusside(SNP)solution,and combinative solutions of 0.8 mmol/L NaHS and 5μmmol/L SNP for 10 min,respectively,and then stored at 20°C.Results showed that the effects of the co-treatment of 0.8 mmol/L NaHS solution and 5μmmol/L SNP solution were superior to that of other treatments.The former could suppress the percentage of fruit decay,inhibit respiration rate,maintain the original crust color,and slow down the decrease of firmness and the change of relative conductivity,which preserved the fruit quality.Further investigation showed that co-treatment of hydrogen sulfide and nitric oxide maintained higher activities of chitinase(CHI)and beta-1,3-glucanase(GNS),and lowered activities of pectin methylesterase(PME),polygalacturonase(PG)and endo-β-1,4-glucanase(EGase).The study indicated that the synergistic function of H2S and NO could effectively prolong the shelf life and reduce the decay rate of harvested strawberry.Zhang Chang Shi Jingying Zhu Liqin Li Changle Wang Qingguo 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,6:12

16Experimental studies on the P-T stability conditions and influencing factors of gas hydrate in different systems显示文摘The P-T stability conditions of gas hydrate in different systems (i.e., solution, silica sand, and marine sediment) were studied using multi-step decomposition method with our experimental equipment. The effects of different ions with various concentrations and sediment grains on the P-T stability conditions of gas hydrate were investigated. The results show that different ions have different influences on the phase equilibrium of gas hydrate. However, the influence of ions is in a similar trend: the larger the concentration, the bigger the P-T curve shifts to the left. For the silica sand, the influence of pore capillarity of coarse particles (> 460 μm) can be negligible. The P-T curve measured in coarse silica is in agreement with that in pure water. However, the influence of pore capillarity of fine particles (< 35 μm) is significant. The maximum reduction value of temperature is 1.5 K for methane hydrate under stable state. The sediment from the South China Sea significantly affects the P-T stability conditions of methane hydrate, with an average reduction value of 1.9 K within the experimental conditions. This is mainly the result of both the pore water salinity and the pore capillarity of sediment. 20GW5-Like, a homolog of GW5, negatively regulates grain width, weight and salt resistance in rice显示文摘Grain size is an important determinant of yield potential in crops. We previously demonstrated that natural mutations in the regulatory sequences of qSW5/GW5 confer grain width diversity in rice. However, the biological function of a GW5 homolog, named GW5-Like(GW5 L), remains unknown. In this study, we report on GW5 L knockout mutants in Kitaake, a japonica cultivar(cv.)considered to have a weak gw5 variant allele that confers shorter and wider grains. GW5 L is evenly expressed in various tissues, and its protein product is localized to the plasma membrane. Biochemical assays verified that GW5 L functions in a similar fashion to GW5. It positively regulates brassinosteroid(BR) signaling through repression of the phosphorylation activity of GSK2. Genetic data show that GW5 L overexpression in either Kitaake or a GW5 knockout line, Kasaorf3(indica cv. Kasalath background), causes more slender, longer grains relative to the wild-type. We also show that GW5 L could confer salt stress resistance through an association with calmodulin protein OsCa M1-1.
