1Ginkgo biloba extract improved cognitive and neurological functions of acute ischaemic stroke:a randomised controlled trial显示文摘Purpose To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ginkgo biloba extract(GBE)in acute ischaemic stroke and its impact on the recurrence of vascular events.Methods We conducted a multicentre,prospective,randomised,open label,blinded,controlled clinical trial enrollingpatients with an onset of acute stroke within 7 days from five hospitals in China Jiangsu Province.Participants were assigned to the GBE group(450 mg GBE with 100 mg aspirin daily)or the control group(100 mg aspirin daily)for 6 months.The primary outcome was the decline in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment score at 6 months.Secondary outcomes were other neuropsychological tests of cognitive and neurological function,the the incidence of adverse events and vascular events.results 348 patients were enrolled:179 in the GBE group and 169 in the control group.With 18 patients lost to follow-up,the dropout rate was 5.17%.Admission data between two groups were similar,but in the GBE group there was a marked slow down in the decline in the Montreal Cognitive Assessment scores(−2.77±0.21 vs−1.99±0.23,P=0.0116(30 days);−3.34±0.24 vs−2.48±0.26,P=0.0165(90 days);−4.00±0.26 vs−2.71±0.26,P=0.0004(180 days))compared with controls.The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale scores at 12 and 30 days,the modified Rankin Scale scores for independent rate at 30,90 and 180 days,and the Barthel Index scores at 30,90 and 180 days in the GBE group were significantly improved compared with controls.Improvements were also observedin GBE groups for Mini-Metal State Examination scores of 30,90 and 180 days,Webster's digit symbol test scores at 30 days and Executive Dysfunction Index scores at 30 and 180 days.No significant differences were seen in the incidence of adverse events or vascular events.conclusions We conclude that GBE in combination with aspirin treatment alleviated cognitive and neurological deficits after acute ischaemic stroke without increasing the incidence of vascular events.Shanshan Li Xinjiang Zhang Qi Fang Junshan Zhou Meijuan Zhang Hui Wang Yan Chen Biyun Xu Yanfeng Wu Lai Qian Yun Xu 2017Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,4:25

4Hydroisomerization performance of platinum supported on ZSM-22/ZSM-23 intergrowth zeolite catalyst显示文摘Hydroisomerization catalysts Pt/ZSM-22,Pt/ZSM-23,and Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 were prepared by supporting Pt on ZSM-22,ZSM-23,and intergrowth zeolite ZSM-22/ZSM-23,respectively.The typical physicochemical properties of these catalysts were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction(XRD),N2 absorption-desorption,Pyridine-Fourier Transform Infrared(Py-FTIR),Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM),X-Ray Fluorescence(XRF),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM) and NH3-Temperature Programmed Desorption(NH3-TPD),and the performance of these catalysts in n-dodecane hydroisomerization was evaluated in a continuous down-flow fixed bed with a stainless steel tubular reactor.The characterization results indicated that the intergrowth zeolite ZSM-22/ZSM-23 possessed the dual structure of ZSM-22 and ZSM-23,and the catalyst Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 had similar pores and weak acidity to Pt/ZSM-22 and Pt/ZSM-23 catalysts.Moreover,Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 catalyst showed a high selectivity in hydroisomerization of long chain n-alkanes to mono-branched isomers.The evaluation results for n-dodecane hydroisomerization indicated that the activity of Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 was the lowest,while the hydroisomerization selectivity was the highest among the three catalysts.The maximum yield of i-dodecane product was 68.3% over Pt/ZSM-22/ZSM-23 at 320 oC.Chi Kebin Zhao Zhen Tian Zhijian Hu Sheng Yan Lijun Li Tianshu Wang Bingchun Meng Xiangbin Gao Shanbin Tan Mingwei Liu Yanfeng 2013Petroleum Science2013,10,2:8
5Water-use efficiency in response to simulated increasing precipitation in a temperate desert ecosystem of Xinjiang, China显示文摘Water-use efficiency(WUE) is a key plant functional trait that plays a central role in the global cycles of water and carbon. Although increasing precipitation may cause vegetation changes, few studies have explored the linkage between alteration in vegetation and WUE. Here, we analyzed the responses of leaf WUE, ecosystem carbon and water exchanges, ecosystem WUE, and plant community composition changes under normal conditions and also under extra 15% or 30% increases in annual precipitation in a temperate desert ecosystem of Xinjiang, China. We found that leaf WUE and ecosystem WUE showed inconsistent responses to increasing precipitation. Leaf WUE consistently decreased as precipitation increased. By contrast, the responses of the ecosystem WUE to increasing precipitation are different in different precipitation regimes: increasing by 33.9% in the wet year(i.e., the normal precipitation years)and decreasing by 4.1% in the dry year when the precipitation was about 30% less than that in the wet year.We systematically assessed the herbaceous community dynamics, community composition, and vegetation coverage to explain the responses of ecosystem WUE, and found that the between-year discrepancy in ecosystem WUE was consistent with the extent to which plant biomass was stimulated by the increase in precipitation. Although there was no change in the relative significance of ephemerals in the plant community, its greater overall plant biomass drove an increased ecosystem WUE under the conditions of increasing precipitation in 2011. However, the slight increase in plant biomass exerted no significant effect on ecosystem WUE in 2012. 6IL-17A-dependent gut microbiota is essential for regulating diet-induced disorders in mice显示文摘The gut microbiota plays a key role in obesity and related metabolic disorders, and multiple factors including diet, host genotype, and age regulate it. Many studies have examined the contribution of extrinsic factors to the regulation of the gut microbiota, but the importance of the host genetic constitution cannot be ignored. Interleukin 17A(IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, is important in the defense against infection and diseases. Here, we investigated the association among IL-17, a high-fat diet(HFD), and the gut microbiota. Mice deficient in IL-17A were resistant to diet-induced obesity and related diseases. Compared with the Ⅱ-17^(-/-)mice, wild-type(WT) mice challenged with HFD showed obvious weight fluctuations, such as those seen in type 2 diabetes, and hematological changes similar to those associated with metabolic syndrome. However, housing WT mice and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice together significantly alleviated these symptoms in the WT mice. A metagenomic analysis of the mouse feces indicated that the microbial community compositions of these two groups differed before HFD feeding. The HFD mediated shifts in the gut microbial compositions, which were associated with the mouse phenotypes.We also identified potentially beneficial and harmful species present during this period, and drew networks of the most abundant species. A functional analysis indicated pathway changes in the WT and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice when fed the HFD. 7Exploring Seasonal and Circadian Rhythms in Structural Traits of Field Maize from LiDAR Time Series显示文摘Plant growth rhythm in structural traits is important for better understanding plant response to the ever-changing environment.Terrestrial laser scanning(TLS)is a well-suited tool to study structural rhythm under field conditions.Recent studies have used TLS to describe the structural rhythm of trees,but no consistent patterns have been drawn.Meanwhile,whether TLS can capture structural rhythm in crops is unclear.Here,we aim to explore the seasonal and circadian rhythms in maize structural traits at both the plant and leaf levels from time-series TLS.The seasonal rhythm was studied using TLS data collected at four key growth periods,including jointing,bell-mouthed,heading,and maturity periods.Circadian rhythms were explored by using TLS data acquired around every 2 hours in a whole day under standard and cold stress conditions.Results showed that TLS can quantify the seasonal and circadian rhythm in structural traits at both plant and leaf levels.(1)Leaf inclination angle decreased significantly between the jointing stage and bell-mouthed stage.Leaf azimuth was stable after the jointing stage.(2)Some individual-level structural rhythms(e.g.,azimuth and projected leaf area/PLA)were consistent with leaf-level structural rhythms.(3)The circadian rhythms of some traits(e.g.,PLA)were not consistent under standard and cold stress conditions.(4)Environmental factors showed better correlations with leaf traits under cold stress than standard conditions.Temperature was the most important factor that significantly correlated with all leaf traits except leaf azimuth.This study highlights the potential of time-series TLS in studying outdoor agricultural chronobiology.Shichao Jin Yanjun Su Yongguang Zhang Shilin Song Qing Li Zhonghua Liu Qin Ma Yan Ge LingLi Liu Yanfeng Ding Frédéric Baret Qinghua Guo 2021Plant Phenomics2021,3,1:5

9Efficient induction of a Her2-specific anti-tumor response by dendritic cells pulsed with a Hsp70L1–Her2_(341–456) fusion protein显示文摘Heat shock proteins(HSPs)have been shown to interact with antigen-presenting cells(APCs),especially dendritic cells(DCs).HSPs act as potent adjuvants,inducing a Th1 response,as well as antigen-specific CD8^(+) cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTL)via cross-presentation.Our previous work has demonstrated that Hsp70-like protein 1(Hsp70L1),a new member of the Hsp70 subfamily,can act as a powerful Th1 adjuvant in a DC-based vaccine.Here we report the efficient induction of tumor antigen-specific T cell immune response by DCs pulsed with recombinant fusion protein of Hsp70L1 and Her2_(341–456),the latter of which is a fragment of Her2/neu(Her2)containing E75(a HLA-A2 restricted CTL epitope).The fusion protein Hsp70L1–Her2_(341–456) promotes the maturation of DCs and activates them to produce cytokines,such as IL-12 and TNF-a,and chemokines,such as MIP-1a,MIP-1b and RANTES.Taken together,these results indicate that the adjuvant activity of Hsp70L1 is maintained in the fusion protein.Her2-specific HLA-A2.1-restricted CD8^(+) CTLs can be generated efficiently either from the Peripheral blood lymphocytes(PBL)of healthy donors or from the splenocytes of immunized HLA-A2.1/K^(b) transgenic mice by in vitro stimulation or immunization with DCs pulsed with the Hsp70L1–Her2_(341–456) fusion protein.This results in more potent target cell killing in an antigen-specific and HLA-A2.1-restricted manner.Adoptive transfer of splenocytes from transgenic mice immunized with Hsp70L1–Her2_(341–456)-pulsed DCs can markedly inhibit tumor growth and prolong the survival of nude mice with Her2^(+)/HLA-A2.1^(+) human carcinomas.These results suggest that Hsp70L1–Her2_(341–456)-pulsed DCs could be a new therapeutic vaccine for patients with Her2^(+) cancer.Qiang Fu Yanfeng Wu Fang Yan Ning Wang Wenying Wang Xuetao Cao Yajie Wang Tao Wan 2011Cellular & Molecular Immunology2011,8,5:3
10Long-term straw incorporation increases rice yield stability under high fertilization level conditions in the rice–wheat system显示文摘Straw incorporation is a global common practice to improve soil fertility and rice yield.However,the effect of straw incorporation on rice yield stability is still unknown,especially under high fertilization level conditions.Here,we reported the effect of straw returning on rice yield and yield stability under high fertilization levels in the rice–wheat system over nine years.The results showed that straw incorporation did not significantly affect the average rice yield of nine years.Straw incorporation reduced the coefficient of variation of rice yield by 25.8%and increased the sustainable yield index by 8.2%.The rice yield positively correlated with mean photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) of rice growth season and the effects of straw incorporation on rice yield depended on the PAR.Straw incorporation increased the rice yield by 5.4%in the low PAR years,whereas it did not affect the rice yield in the high PAR years.Long-term straw incorporation lowered soil bulk density but improved the soil organic matter,total N,available N,available P,and available K more strongly than straw removal.Our findings suggest that straw incorporation can increase rice yield stability through improving the resistance of rice plant growth to low PAR.Jianwei Zhang Weiwei Li Yan Zhou Yanfeng Ding Lei Xu Yu Jiang Ganghua Li 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,5:3
11Modeling the effects of plastic film mulching on irrigated maize yield and water use efficiency in sub-humid Northeast China显示文摘In sub-humid Northeast China,plastic film mulching(PFM)is increasingly used with drip irrigation system in maize(Zea mays L.)to cope with seasonal droughts and low temperatures during seedling stage.Although there were several studies showing the benefits of PFM on maize production in the region,quantification of the effects of PFM in sub-humid Northeast China are still lacking.Hybrid-Maize model has a special version that can not only simulate the effects of PFM on reduction of soil evaporation and rise of topsoil temperature,but also simulate the effects of PFM on crop development and other physiological processes.This paper reports how to verify the Hybrid-Maize model against observations and then applying the model to quantify effects of PFM on grain yield and water use efficiency(WUE)under irrigated scenarios.The Hybrid-Maize model was added the heating effects of PFM on rising surface-soil temperature and promoting subsequent crop development by establishing equations between surface-soil temperature and air temperature before V6 stage.A 3-year field experiment including maize growth and yield data measured at a drip-irrigated field in Heilongjiang Province was used to serve the model calibration.The simulated results indicated that the Hybrid-Maize model performed well in simulation of seasonal soil water storage and in-season aboveground dry matter in three years,but overestimated the leaf area index(LAI)for both treatments and underestimated the final aboveground dry matter at maturity for mulched treatments.Although the Hybrid-Maize model overestimated the grain yield and WUE,it did still reflect the effects of PFM on increasing grain yield and WUE during the three growing seasons.The average simulated grain yield and WUE for mulched treatments were 8%and 13%greater compared to non-mulched treatments using 30 years weather data,which were in agreement with observations that average grain yield and WUE was 11%and 14%increased by PFM,respectively.For evapotranspiration(ET),the average simulated ET for mulched treatments was 22 mm less than non-mulched treatments mainly due to less soil evaporation.For simulated irrigation requirements,at most 69 mm of irrigation water could be saved by PFM.In conclusion,PFM with drip irrigation could improve irrigated maize production in sub-humid Northeast China.Liu Yang Yang Haishun Li Yanfeng Yan Haijun Li Jiusheng 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,5:2

15Highly safe and ionothermal synthesis of Ti3C2 MXene with expanded interlayer spacing for enhanced lithium storage显示文摘MXene is a rising star of two-dimensional(2D)materials for energy relative applications,however,the traditional synthesis of MXene etched by hazard HF acid or LiF+HCl mixed solution is highly dangerous with the risk of splashing or pouring liquid solutions.In this work,we developed a water-free ionothermal synthesis of 2D Ti3C2 MXene via etching pristine Ti3AlC2 MAX in low-cost choline chloride and oxalic acid based deep eutectic solvents(DES)with the presence of NH4F,thus it was highly safe and convenient to operate solid precursor and product materials at room temperature.Benefited from the low vapor pressure and solvating properties of DES,the prepared Ti3C2(denoted as DES-Ti3C2)possessed a high purity up to 98% compared with 95% for HF etched Ti3C2(denoted as HF-Ti3C2).Notably,an expanded interlayer spacing of 1.35 nm could be achieved due to the intercalation of choline cations in DES-Ti3C2,larger than that of HF-Ti3C2(0.98 nm).As a result,the DES-Ti3C2 anodes exhibited enhanced lithium storage performance,such as high reversible capacity of 208 m Ah g-1at 0.5 A g-1,and long cycle life over 400 times,outperforming most reported pure MXene anodes.The ionothermal synthesis of MXene developed here may pave a new way to safely prepare other MXene for various energy relating applications.Junbiao Wu Yu Wang Yaopeng Zhang Hao Meng Yan Xu Yide Han Zhuopeng Wang Yanfeng Dong Xia Zhang 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,8:1

19The Establishment and Application of Mobile Electronic Surveillance System for Infectious Diseases with the Help of China—Sierra Leone,2016-Present显示文摘Introduction:Infectious disease surveillance has long been a challenge for low-income countries like Sierra Leone.Traditional approaches based on paper and Short Message Service(SMS)were subject to severe delays in obtaining,transmitting,and analyzing information.Methods:During the China aid operation for fighting Ebola since the end of 2014,a mobile electronic surveillance system for infectious diseases(MESSID)was developed in collaboration with the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces(RSLAF),which comprised an Android-based reporting system and a complementary web-based program designed by Active Server Page.NET(ASP.NET)with the main functions including surveillance,real-time reporting,and risk assessment of infectious diseases.Results:MESSID was successfully registered in June 2016 and had been used by all medical and health institutions in RSLAF.From June 1,2016 to July 5,2021,34,419 cases were diagnosed with 47 infectious diseases of 5 categories,with a total of 42 clinical symptoms.Compared to traditional approaches based on paper and SMS,the MESSID showed flexibility,high efficiency,convenience,and acceptability.Discussion:MESSID is an accessible tool for surveillance of infectious diseases in Sierra Leone and possibly in other African countries with similar needs,capable of improving timeliness of disease reporting,thus rendering a timely outbreak detection and response.Guangyu Zhao Haorong Chen Yanfeng Yan Jiafu Jiang Lei Lin Baogui Jiang Foday Sahr Stephen Sevalie Qiang Xu Jinjin Chen Henry Saidu Bangura Kandeh Bassie Kargbo Yajun Song Wei Liu Liqun Fang Yansong Sun 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,36:1
