| 1 | The SLC transporter in nutrient and metabolic sensing, regulation, and drug development显示文摘The prevalence of metabolic diseases is growing worldwide. Accumulating evidence suggests that solute carrier (SLC) transporters contribute to the etiology of various metabolic diseases. Consistent with metabolic characteristics, the top five organs in which SLC transporters are highly expressed are the kidney, brain, liver, gut, and heart. We aim to understand the molecular mechanisms of important SLC transporter-mediated physiological processes and their potentials as drug targets. SLC transporters serve as Metabolic gate’ of cells and mediate the transport of a wide range of essential nutrients and metabolites such as glucose, amino acids, vitamins, neurotransmitters, and inorganic/metal ions. Gene-modified animal models have demonstrated that SLC transporters participate in many important physiological functions including nutrient supply, metabolic transformation, energy homeostasis, tissue development, oxidative stress, host defense, and neurological regulation. Furthermore, the human genomic studies have identified that SLC transporters are susceptible or causative genes in various diseases like cancer, metabolic disease, cardiovascular disease, immunological disorders, and neurological dysfunction? | 3 | Preparation of an anti-diethylstilbestrol monoclonal antibody and development of an indirect competitive ELISA to detect diethylstilbestrol in biological samples显示文摘Based on the preparation of an anti-diethylstilbestrol(DES) monoclonal antibody,a simple and convenient indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method for DES detection has been developed.The monoclonal antibody demonstrated high sensitivity to DES with an IC50 value of 275 pg mL-1 and detection limit(LOD) of 90 pg mL-1.The specificity of the assay was studied by measuring cross-reactivity of the antibody with structurally related compounds of ethinyl estradiol(<7%),estrone(<0.1%),estriol(<0.1%),and diethylstilbestrol benzoate(<0.1%).Chicken,fish,shrimp,urine and bile spiked with different concentration of DES were detected by the developed method,and the recovery rates were greater than 79.5%.Intra-and inter-assay variations were about 6%.This method exhibited high stability with a coefficient of variation less than 10% in buffer and in real samples.The LODs in fish/shrimp,liver,feed and urine spiked with DES were 600,600,4800 and 600 pg mL-1,respectively.These results confirmed that the antibody to DES was successfully produced and could be used to establish ELISA methods for DES detection in food producing animals. | LI WeiHua MENG Meng HE FangYang WAN YuPing XUE HuYin LIU Wei YIN WeiWei XU Jing FENG CaiWei WANG ShanLiang LU Xiao LIU JinTing XI RiMo | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,8: | 4 |
| 4 | Musk secretion in muskrats(Ondatra zibethicus L.):association with lipid and cholesterol metabolism-related pathways显示文摘Male muskrats(Ondatra zibethicus L.)secrete musk from their scent glands during musk secretion season.Musk plays an important role as a communication pheromone during the breeding season.In this study,gas chromatography–mass spectrometry(GC–MS)was used to analyze the main components of musk.The GC–MS results after methyl esterification showed that 71.55%of the musk is composed of fatty acids.The other components of muskrat musk include cholesterol(9.31%)and other organics.Transcriptome comparison between musk secretion and non-secretion seasons showed significant changes in the scent glands for 53 genes involved in fatty acid and cholesterol synthesis and metabolism regulatory pathways,which include fatty acid biosynthesis,elongation,and metabolism;steroid biosynthesis;steroid hormone biosynthesis pathways.A reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction analysis confirmed these detected changes.Overall,our results indicated that lipid synthesis and metabolism play important roles in musk compound synthesis by providing energy for musk production,and the produced musk provides a mechanism for male muskrats to communicate with females during the breeding season. | TIANXIANG ZHANG MEISHAN ZHANG MINGHUI SHI WEIJIANG JIN SHUMIAO ZHANG MENGYUAN FAN YIMENG LI YUPING MENG XUELIN TIAN SHUQIANG LIU DEFU HU | 2021 | BIOCELL2021,45,2: | 2 |

| 6 | CO_(2)emission and source partitioning from carbonate and non-carbonate soils during incubation显示文摘The accurate quantification and source partitioning of CO_(2)emitted from carbonate(i.e.,Haplustalf)and non-carbonate(i.e.,Hapludult)soils are critically important for understanding terrestrial carbon(C)cycling.The two main methods to capture CO_(2)released from soils are the alkali trap method and the direct gas sampling method.A 25-d laboratory incubation experiment was conducted to compare the efficacies of these two methods to analyze CO_(2)emissions from the non-carbonate and carbonate-rich soils.An isotopic fraction was introduced into the calculations to determine the impacts on partitioning of the sources of CO_(2)into soil organic carbon(SOC)and soil inorganic carbon(SIC)and into C3 and/or C4 plant-derived SOC.The results indicated that CO_(2)emissions from the non-carbonate soil measured using the alkali trap and gas sampling methods were not significantly different.For the carbonate-rich soil,the CO_(2)emission measured using the alkali trap method was significantly higher than that measured using the gas sampling method from the 14 th day of incubation onwards.Although SOC and SIC each accounted for about 50%of total soil C in the carbonate-rich soil,SOC decomposition contributed 57%–72%of the total CO_(2)emitted.For both non-carbonate and carbonate-rich soils,the SOC derived from C4 plants decomposed faster than that originated from C3 plants.We propose that for carbonate soil,CO_(2)emission may be overestimated using the alkali trap method because of decreasing CO_(2)pressure within the incubation jar,but underestimated using the direct gas sampling method.The gas sampling interval and ambient air may be important sources of error,and steps should be taken to mitigate errors related to these factors in soil incubation and CO_(2)quantification studies. | Yi ZHAO Roland BOL Zhaoan SUN Yuping ZHUGE Xiaoxia SHI Wenliang WU Fanqiao MENG | 2022 | Pedosphere2022,32,3: | 1 |
| 7 | Anomalous crystal structure of γ' phase in the Mg-RE-Zn(Ag) series alloys:Causality clarified by ab initio study显示文摘The crystal structure of the single-unit-cell thickness γ ' phase,as a key strengthening phase in Mg-REZn(Ag) series alloys,has been extensively studied,and several structural models have been proposed in the past two decades.However,these reported models,and even the lattice constants at the same proposed structure,are scattered severely,which has led to considerable confusion and not available for further mechanical property simulation and prediction of Mg alloys containing this phase.In this study,by using first-principles calculations,the crystal structure of y' phase is clarified,resolving the discrepancies among different experiments,and its intrinsic mechanical properties have also been studied for the first time.It is verified that the γ ' phase contains quasi-five atomic layers,instead of the previously reported tri-layer,and surprisingly,its crystal structure has many variants,which would change with the alloy composition.Besides,with the help of the simulated selected area electron diffraction(SAED) patterns,it is found that the atoms in the central layer remain partially ordered distribution,and this ordered extent primarily depends on the atomic ratio of RE:Zn(Ag) and the solute content in an alloy.That is,the ordered extent increases with decreasing the atomic ratio of RE:Zn(Ag) and/or increasing solute content of alloy,and vice versa.Ag and Zn dissolved in the γ' phase would produce almost opposed mechanical anisotropy for the γ ' phase under the identical crystal structure,and the addition of Ag shows more efficient on increasing the shear modulus of γ' phase. | Junyuan Bai Xueyong Pang Xiangying Meng Hongbo Xie Hucheng Pan Yuping Ren Min Jiang Gaowu Qin | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,36,1: | 1 |
