1Zonal distribution features of high frequency planetary waves in the oceans derived from satellite altimeter data显示文摘Based on TOPEX/Poseidon (T/P) and ERS-1 and 2 satellite altimeter data between October 1992 and December 2000, high frequency oscillations with periods less than 150 d are analyzed and their spatial distributions are described. The ratio, instead of the energy itself, of the energy corresponding to certain frequency band from power spectrum relative to the total energy in the 20~143 d range is analyzed. The results show that the period of the most energetic oscillations in this band increases with latitude from about 1 month near the tropics to about 4 months near 30°, in agreement with the latitudinal dependency of the phase speed of westward propagating long Rossby waves,which dominate the variability in those latitudes.As a result,the global spatial distributions of the period of the dominant oscillations are largely zonal, with relatively small differences between different ocean basins. 2Influence of lactic acid bacteria on physicochemical indexes,sensory and flavor characteristics of fermented sea buckthorn juice显示文摘Sea buckthorn has been proved to be a good substrate for lactic acid bacteria(LAB),but the research on the fermentation of sea buckthorn juice(SBJ)by LAB is still rare.This study was designed to determine the performance of fermented SBJ(FSBJ)in four LAB and investigate the sensory aspects of FSBJ.The results showed that the utilization rates of reducing sugar,titratable acid,and malic acid of SBJ fermented by Lactobacillus casei(SBJLc)were the highest and that lactic acid content was the greatest.The organic acid compositions of the four kinds of FSBJs were also different.The viable counts of all FSBJs was greater than 7 log CFU/mL,and that the viable count of SBJ fermented by SBJLc was the highest.In this study,the Electronic tongue combined with Electronic nose was used for the first time to study SBJ.Results showed that compared with the control,the response value of Sourness was significantly increased,while Bitterness and Astringency were significantly decreased.There was a significant difference in four FSBJs.The results of the electronic nose showed that SBJ fermented by Lactobacillus plantarum LP56(SBJLp)could be well identified by sensors sensitive to aromatic substances.The volatile compound contents before and after fermentation were significantly different,the highest being SBJLp.Finally,the results of sensory evaluation experiments showed that SBJLp was the most acceptable to consumers in terms of sensory evaluation.Yuanye Liu Jie Sheng Jingjing Li Panling Zhang Fengxian Tang Chunhui Shan 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:6
3Mechanism of palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative cross-coupling between cyanoacetate salts and aryl halides显示文摘Recently we reported Pd-catalyzed decarboxylative cross-coupling of cyanoacetate salts with aryl halides and triflates. This reaction shows good functional group tolerance and is useful for the synthesis of-aryl nitriles. To elucidate the mechanism for this reaction, we now carry out a density functional theory study on the cross-coupling of potassium cyanoacetate with bromobenzene. Our results show that the decarboxylation transition state involving the interaction of Pd with the-carbon atom has a very high energy barrier of +34.5 kcal/mol and therefore, must be excluded. Decarboxylation of free ion (or tight-ion-pair) also causes a high energy increase and should be ruled out. Thus the most favored decarboxylation mechanism corresponds to a transition state in which Pd interacts with the cyano nitrogen. The energy profile of the whole catalytic cycle shows that decarboxylation is the rate-determining step. 4A classification-based method to estimate event-related potentials from single trial EEG显示文摘A novel method based on machine learning is developed to estimate event-related potentials from single trial electroencephalography. This paper builds a basic framework using classification and an optimization model based on this framework for estimating event-related potentials. Then the SingleTrialEM algorithm is derived by introducing a logistic regression model, which could be obtained by training before SingleTrialEM is used, to instantiate the optimization model. The simulation tests demonstrate that the proposed method is correct and solid. The advantage of this method is verified by the comparison between this method and the Woody filter in simulation tests. 5Differential effects of aging on EEG after baclofen administration显示文摘Baclofen is a selective gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) type B agonist that may have important medicinal uses,such as in analgesics and drug addiction treatment.In addition,evidence is accumulating that suggests GABAergic-mediated neurotransmission is altered during aging.This study investigated whether baclofen administration (5 mg kg 1) induces differential effects on cortical electrical activity with age.Electroencephalograms (EEGs) were recorded from young (3-4 months) and aged (15-17 months) rats,and both the absolute and relative powers in five frequency bands (delta:2-4 Hz;theta:4-8 Hz;alpha:8-12 Hz;beta:12-20 Hz;gamma:20-100 Hz) were analyzed.Before administration of baclofen,we found that the EEG relative power in the beta band was higher in the aged than that in the young rats.After administration of baclofen,there was a slower increase in the relative power in the delta band in the aged than that in the young rats.Moreover,there was no significant difference between the two age groups in absolute power in any frequency band.These findings indicate that baclofen treatment appears to differentially modify cortical EEG activity as a function of age.Our data further elucidate the relationship between GABA B receptor-mediated neurotransmission and aging.FU Yu CUI JunHui MA YuanYe 2011Science China(Life Sciences)2011,54,5:2
6Role of β-microseminoprotein from prostate cancer initiationto recurrence: A mini-review显示文摘Medline/Pubmed articles relevant to this topic were considered using the search terms ?-microseminoprotein, MSMB, prostate secretory protein of 94 amino acids and PSP94. Full articles were retrieved when the abstract was considered relevant. In addition, other data related to this topic including our own are discussed. Summary of fi ndings-?-microseminoprotein(MSMB) is increasingly being considered as a marker for prostatecancer, as reduced levels have been associated with the disease. Here we review various aspects of this protein including its biological and physiological variants, binding proteins and immune modulation; its importance as a marker for biochemical recurrence of prostate cancer; prostate cancer related splice variants and its therapeutic utility. Two of the most important properties of MSMB are related to anticancer functions and immune modulation. Predominant expression of two(short and full-length) splice variants of MSMB has been observed from normal prostate and several other tissues. In benign prostate hyperplasia the short isoform is dominant, constituting 98% of this isoform, whereas in prostate cancer 96% constitute the fulllength isoform. The MSMB promoter single nucleotide polymorphism rs10993994 with the C allele functions as an activated cyclic adenosine monophosphate response element binding protein binding site. This C variant of rs10993994 could be responsible for the production of splice variants under variable conditions. MSMB has binding motifs to a few known proteins including immunoglobulin G and several Cysteine-rich secretory proteins family proteins. MSMB bound to these proteins is considered as immune modulating. Use of MSMB as a urinary marker for detecting aggressive prostate cancers that could resist radiation and surgical treatments, seems possible, but needs further investigation. 16The Amygdala Responds Rapidly to Flashes Linked to Direct Retinal Innervation:A Flash-evoked Potential Study Across Cortical and Subcortical Visual Pathways显示文摘Rapid detection and response to visual threats are critical for survival in animals.The amygdala(AMY)is hypothesized to be involved in this process,but how it interacts with the visual system to do this remains unclear.By recording flash-evoked potentials simultaneously from the superior colliculus(SC),lateral posterior nucleus of the thalamus,AMY,lateral geniculate nucleus(LGN)and visual cortex,which belong to the cortical and subcortical pathways for visual fear processing,we investigated the temporal relationship between these regions in visual processing in rats.A quick flash-evoked potential(FEP)component was identified in the AMY.This emerged as early as in the LGN and was approximately 25 ms prior to the earliest component recorded in the SC,which was assumed to be an important area in visual fear.This quick P1 component in the AMY was not affected by restraint stress or corticosterone injection,but was diminished by RU38486,a glucocorticoid receptor blocker.By injecting a monosynaptic retrograde AAV tracer into the AMY,we found that it received a direct projection from the retina.These results confirm the existence of a direct connection from the retina to the AMY,that the latency in the AMY to flashes is equivalent to that in the sensory thalamus,and that the response is modulated by glucocorticoids.Yanmei Chen Yiling Ni Jianhong Zhou Hua Zhou Qian Zhong Xinyue Li Jichuan Zhang Yuanye Ma Jingkuan Wei 2021Neuroscience Bulletin2021,37,8:1

18Enhanced Pseudo‑Capacitive Contributions to High‑Performance Sodium Storage in TiO2/C Nanofibers via Double Effects of Sulfur Modification显示文摘Pseudo-capacitive mechanisms can provide higher energy densities than electrical double-layer capacitors while being faster than bulk storage mechanisms.Usually,they suffer from low intrinsic electronic and ion conductivities of the active materials.Here,taking advantage of the combination of TiS2 decoration,sulfur doping,and a nanometer-sized structure,as-spun TiO2/C nanofiber composites are developed that enable rapid transport of sodium ions and electrons,and exhibit enhanced pseudo-capacitively dominated capacities.At a scan rate of 0.5 mV s−1,a high pseudo-capacitive contribution(76%of the total storage)is obtained for the S-doped TiS2/TiO2/C electrode(termed as TiS2/S-TiO2/C).Such enhanced pseudocapacitive activity allows rapid chemical kinetics and significantly improves the high-rate sodium storage performance of TiO2.The TiS2/S-TiO2/C composite electrode delivers a high capacity of 114 mAh g−1 at a current density of 5000 mA g−1.The capacity maintains at high level(161 mAh g−1)even after 1500 cycles and is still characterized by 58 mAh g−1 at the extreme condition of 10,000 mA g−1 after 10,000 cycles.Yan Zhang Yuanye Huang Vesna Srot Peter A.van Aken Joachim Maier Yan Yu 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,12:1
