| 1 | Emerging roles of lactic acid bacteria in protection against colorectal cancer显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the third leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide and the fourth most common cancer diagnosed among men and women in the United States.Considering the risk factors of CRC,dietary therapy has become one of the most effective approaches in reducing CRC morbidity and mortality.The use of probiotics is increasing in popularity for both the prevention and treatment of a variety of diseases.As the most common types of microbes used as probiotics,lactic acid bacteria(LAB)are comprised of an ecologically diverse group of microorganisms united by formation of lactic acid as the primary metabolite of sugar metabolism.LAB have been successfully used in managing diarrhea,food allergies,and inflammatory bowel disease.LAB also demonstrated a host of properties in preventing colorectal cancer development by inhibiting initiation or progression through multiple pathways.In this review,we discuss recent insights into cellular and molecular mechanisms of LAB in CRC prevention including apoptosis,antioxidant DNA damages,immune responses,and epigenetics.The emerging experimental findings from clinical trials as well as the proposed mechanisms of gut microbiota in carcinogenesis will also be briefly discussed. | Li Zhong Xufei Zhang Mihai Covasa | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,24: | 17 |

| 3 | Development and dynamic characteristics of an Organic Rankine Cycle显示文摘The design, construction and test of an Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) with R123 as the working fluid were performed. A scroll expander was integrated in the system.The conductive oil with its temperature of 150 °C was used to simulate the low-grade heat source. An AC dynamometer unit measured the expander shaft torque, rotating speed and shaft power. The experiments were conducted in two operating modes: the constant mass flow rate and the constant shaft torque. Under the constant mass flow rate operating mode, the stepped increase of the shaft torque increased the expansion ratios of the expander and decreased the vapor superheats at the expander inlet. Thus,the shaft power and thermal efficiency were increased.Alternatively, the constant shaft torque operating mode involved two different regions, interfaced at the pumping frequency of 9 Hz. By the increase of the mass flow rates,the vapor superheats at the expander inlet was decreased and the shaft power was increased, but the ORC thermal efficiencies were slightly decreased. Both operating modes yielded the saturation shaft powers that were the maximum values one could use. It was found that the measured shaft powers and ORC thermal efficiencies were lower than the enthalpy determined values based on the fluid pressures and temperatures at the expander inlet and outlet. | 4 | A novel thermal biosensor based on enzyme reaction for pesticides measurement显示文摘A novel thermal biosensor based on enzyme reaction for pesticides detection has been developed. This biosensor is a flow injection analysis system and consists of two channels with enzyme reaction column and identical reference column, which is set for eliminating the unspecific heat. The enzyme reaction takes place in the enzyme reaction column at a constant temperature(40℃) realized by a thermoelectric thermostat. Thermosensor based on the thermoelectric module containing 127 serial BiTe-thermocouples is used to monitor the temperature difference between two effluents from enzyme reaction column and reference column. The ability of this biosensor to detect pesticides is demonstrated by the decreased degree of the hydrolytic heat in two types of thermosensor mode. The hydrolytic reaction is inhibited by 36% at 1 mg/L DDVP and 50 % at 10 mg/L DDVP when cell-typed thermosensor is used. The percent inhibition is 30% at 1 mg/L DDVP and 42% at 10 mg/L DDVP in tube-typed thermosensor mode. | 5 | Augmented flight dynamics model for pilot workload evaluation in tilt-rotor aircraft optimal landing procedure after one engine failure显示文摘An augmented flight dynamics model is developed to extend the existing flight dynamics model of tilt-rotor aircraft for optimal landing procedure analysis in the event of one engine failure.Compared with the existing flight dynamics model, the augmented model involves with more pilot control information in cockpit and is validated against the flight test data. Based on the augmented flight dynamics model, the optimal landing procedure of XV-15 tilt-rotor aircraft after one engine failure is formulated into a Nonlinear Optimal Control Problem(NOCP), solved by collocation and numerical optimization method. The time histories of pilot controls in cockpit during the optimal landing procedure are obtained for the evaluation of pilot workload. An evaluation method which can synthetically quantify the pilot workload in time and frequency domains is proposed with metrics of aggressiveness and cutoff frequencies of pilot controls. The scale of the pilot workload is compared with those of the shipboard landing procedures, bob-up/bob-down and dash/quickstop maneuvers of UH-60 helicopter. The results show that the aggressiveness of pilot collective and longitudinal controls for the tilt-rotor aircraft optimal landing procedure after one engine failure are higher than those for UH-60 helicopter shipboard landing procedures up to the condition of sea state 4, while the pilot cutoff frequency of collective control is lower than that of the bob-up/bob-down maneuver but the pilot cutoff frequency of longitudinal control is higher than that of the dash/quick-stop maneuver. | 7 | Ambient volatile organic compounds at a receptor site in the Pearl River Delta region:Variations,source apportionment and effects on ozone formation显示文摘We present the continuously measurements of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)at a receptor site(Wan Qing Sha,WQS)in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region from September to November of 2017.The average mixing ratios of total VOCs(TVOCs)was 36.3±27.9 ppbv with the dominant contribution from alkanes(55.5%),followed by aromatics(33.3%).The diurnal variation of TVOCs showed a strong photochemical consumption during daytime,resulting in the formation of ozone(O_(3)).Five VOC sources were resolved by the positive matrix factorization(PMF)model,including solvent usage(28.6%),liquid petroleum gas(LPG)usage(24.4%),vehicle exhaust(21.0%),industrial emissions(13.2%)and gasoline evaporation(12.9%).The regional transport air masses from the upwind cities of south China can result in the elevated concentrations of TVOCs.Low ratios of TVOCs/NO_(x)(1.53±0.88)suggested that the O_(3) formation regime at WQS site was VOC-limited,which also confirmed by a photochemical box model with the master chemical mechanism(PBM-MCM).Furthermore,the observation on high-O_(3) episode days revealed that frequent O_(3) outbreaks at WQS were mainly caused by the regional transport of anthropogenic VOCs especially for aromatics and the subsequent photochemical reactions.This study provides valuable information for policymakers to propose the effective control strategies on photochemical pollution in a regional perspective. | Yao Meng Junwei Song Lewei Zeng Yingyi Zhang Yan Zhao Xufei Liu Hai Guo Liuju Zhong Yubo Ou Yan Zhou Tao Zhang Dingli Yue Senchao Lai | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,1: | 5 |

| 9 | Prediction of pilot workload in helicopter landing after one engine failure显示文摘This paper presents a method to predict the pilot workload in helicopter landing after one engine failure.The landing procedure is simulated numerically via applying nonlinear optimal control method in the form of performance index,path constraints and boundary conditions based on an augmented six-degree-of-freedom rigid-body flight dynamics model,solved by collocation and numerical optimization method.UH-60 A helicopter is taken as the sample for the demonstration of landing after one engine failure.The numerical simulation was conducted to find the trajectory of helicopter and the controls from pilot for landing after one engine failure with different performance index considering the factor of pilot workload.The reasonable performance index and corresponding landing trajectory and controls are obtained by making a comparison with those from the flight test data.Furthermore,the pilot workload is evaluated based on wavelet transform analysis of the pilot control activities.The workloads of pilot control activities for collective control,longitudinal and lateral cyclic controls and pedal control during the helicopter landing after one engine failure are examined and compared with those of flight test.The results show that when the performance index considers the factor of pilot workload properly,the characteristics of amplitudes and constituent frequencies of pilot control inputs in the optimal solution are consistent with those of the pilot control inputs in the flight test.Therefore,the proposed method provides a tool of predicting the pilot workload in helicopter landing after one engine failure. | Zhiming YU Xufei YAN Renliang CHEN | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,12: | 3 |
| 10 | Characteristics and Evaluation of the High-Quality Source Rocks of Cretaceous Continental Shale Oil in Tonghua Basin, China显示文摘The presence of shale oil in the Cretaceous Hengtongshan Formation in the Tonghua Basin, drilled by the well TD-01, has been discussed in this geological investigation for the first time. To evaluate the high-quality source rocks of Cretaceous continental shale oil, the distribution characteristics and the evolution of the ancient environment, samples of shale were systematically analyzed in terms of sedimentary facies, organic geochemistry, and organic carbon isotopic composition. The results demonstrate that a TOC value of 1.5% represents the lower-limit TOC value of the high-quality source rocks. Source rocks have an aggregate thickness of 211 m and contain abundant organic matter, with TOC values of 2.69% on average and a maximum value over 5.44%. The original hydrocarbon-generative potential value(S_1+S_2) is between 0.18 mg/g and 6.13 mg/g, and the Ro is between 0.97% and 1.40%. The thermal maturation of the source rocks is relatively mature to highly mature. The δ^(13)C value range is between -34.75‰ and -26.53‰. The ratio of saturated hydrocarbons to aromatic hydrocarbons is 1.55 to 5.24, with an average of 2.85, which is greater than 1.6. The organic types are mainly type Ⅱ_1, followed by type Ⅰ. The organic carbon source was C_3 plants and hydrophytes. The paleoclimate of the Hengtongshan Formation can be characterized as hot and dry to humid, and these conditions were conducive to the development of high-quality source rocks. | 11 | Trajectory optimization of aerial slung load release for piloted helicopters显示文摘This study aims to provide the pilot with optimal control time histories for stabilization of a helicopter after releasing the slung load in aerial delivery missions. A model with 21 degrees of freedom(21-DOF) has been developed and validated for a helicopter slung load system. The control history is generated with detailed procedure based on trajectory optimization. Effects of the objective function formulation on the results are discussed and rules are obtained to assist in the objective function determination. We conclude that the pilot should first decrease and then increase the collective control and adjust the longitudinal control to stabilize the helicopter after the in-hover slung load release. The obtained control history is reasonable and helpful for safety and efficiency improvement. Effects of path constraints and the Flight Control System(FCS) are studied. More stringent path constraints will lead to longer time spent and more controls. | 13 | Pullulan Acetate Coated Magnetite Nanoparticles for Hyper-Thermia:Preparation,Characterization and In Vitro Experiments显示文摘Amphipathic polymer pullulan acetate (PA)-coated magnetic nanoparticles were prepared and characterized by various physicochemical means. The cytotoxicity and cellular uptake of the magnetic nanoparticles were examined. The hyperthermic effect of the magnetic nanoparticles on tumor cells was evaluated. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) showed that the PA coated magnetic nanoparticles (PAMNs) had spherical morphology. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) showed that the size distribution of PAMNs was unimodal,with an average diameter of 25.8 nm ± 6.1 nm. The presence of the adsorbed layer of PA on the magnetite surface was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Magnetic measurements revealed that the saturation magnetization of the PAMNs reached 51.9 emu/g and the nanoparticles were superparamagnetic. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) showed that the Fe_(3)O_(4) particles constituted 75 wt% of the PAMNs. The PAMNs had good heating properties in an alternating magnetic field. Cytotoxicity assay showed that PAMNs exhibited no significant cytotoxicity against L929 cells. TEM results showed that a large number of PAMNs were internalized into KB cells. PAMNs have good hyperthermia effect on KB cells in vitro by magnetic field induced hyperthermia. | 18 | Adsorption equilibrium for Z-ligustilide on C18-bonded silica from supercritical carbon dioxide显示文摘Adsorption equilibrium is of great importance for the preparative supercritical fluid chromatography(pre-SFC) in defining supercritical adsorption behavior and the industrial amplification.This paper presents adsorption isotherms of Z-ligustilide from supercritical carbon dioxide(SC-CO_2) on C18-bonded silica.Adsorption behavior was studied at 305.15 K,313.15 K and 323.15 K with SC-CO_2 density varying from 0.687 g·cm^(-3) to0.863 g·cm^(-3) with the elution by characteristic points(ECP) method.The adsorption amount of Z-ligustilide from SC-CO_2 on C18-bonded silica decreased with the increasing density of the mobile phase as well as the increasing temperature.Adsorption equilibrium data were fitted by Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models,and the Langmuir isotherm model performed better for describing the whole adsorption process on the column.The monolayer saturation adsorption capacity of Z-ligustilide is in the range of 3.0 × 10^(-4) mg·cm^(-3) to5.5 × 10^(-4) mg·cm^(-3) with an average value of 4.0 × 10^(-4) mg·cm^(-3). | Huisheng Lü Shuangyan Liu Yonghui Li Fanmei Meng Dawei Yao Xufei Mo | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2016,24,12: | 1 |
| 19 | Compositional Variability and Mutation Spectra of Monophyletic SARS-CoV-2 Clades显示文摘COVID-19 and its causative pathogen SARS-CoV-2 have rushed the world into a staggering pandemic in a few months,and a global fight against both has been intensifying.Here,we describe an analysis procedure where genome composition and its variables are related,through the genetic code to molecular mechanisms,based on understanding of RNA replication and its feedback loop from mutation to viral proteome sequence fraternity including effective sites on the replicase-transcriptase complex.Our analysis starts with primary sequence information,identity-based phylogeny based on 22,051 SARS-CoV-2 sequences,and evaluation of sequence variation patterns as mutation spectra and its 12 permutations among organized clades.All are tailored to two key mechanisms:strand-biased and function-associated mutations.Our findings are listed as follows:1)The most dominant mutation is C-to-U permutation,whose abundant second-codon-position counts alter amino acid composition toward higher molecular weight and lower hydrophobicity,albeit assumed most slightly deleterious.2)The second abundance group includes three negative-strand mutations(U-to-C,A-to-G,and G-to-A)and a positive-strand mutation(G-to-U)due to DNA repair mechanisms after cellular abasic events.3)A clade-associated biased mutation trend is found attributable to elevated level of negative-sense strand synthesis.4)Within-clade permutation variation is very informative for associating non-synonymous mutations and viral proteome changes.These findings demand a platform where emerging mutations are mapped onto mostly subtle but fast-adjusting viral proteomes and transcriptomes,to provide biological and clinical information after logical convergence for effective pharmaceutical and diagnostic applications.Such actions are in desperate need,especially in the middle of the War against COVID-19. | Xufei Teng Qianpeng Li Zhao Li Yuansheng Zhang Guangyi Niu Jingfa Xiao Jun Yu Zhang Zhang Shuhui Song | 2020 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2020,18,6: | 1 |
| 20 | The application of proton spectrometers at the SG-III facility for ICF implosion areal density diagnostics显示文摘Charged particle diagnostics is one of the required techniques for implosion areal density diagnostics at the SG-III facility.Several proton spectrometers are under development, and some preliminary areal density diagnostics have been carried out. The response of the key detector, CR39, to charged particles was investigated in detail. A new track profile simulation code based on a semi-empirical model was developed. The energy response of the CR39 detector was calibrated with the accelerator protons and alphas from a241 Am source. A proton spectrometer based on the filtered CR39 detector was developed, and D–D primary proton measurements were implemented. A step range filter spectrometer was developed,and preliminary areal density diagnostics was carried out. A wedged range filter spectrometer array made of Si with a higher resolution was designed and developed at the SG-III facility. A particle response simulation code by the Monte Carlo method and a spectra unfolding code were developed.
