1Research on the slope spectrum of the Loess Plateau显示文摘A new concept dealing with digital analysis of loess terrain,slope spectrum,is presented and discussed in this paper,by introducing its characteristic,represen-tation and extracting method from DEMs. Using 48 geomorphological units in dif-ferent parts of the loess as test areas and 5 m-resolution DEMs as original test data,the quantitative depiction and spatial distribution of slope spectrum in China's Loess Plateau have been studied on the basis of a series of carefully-designed experiments. In addition,initial experiment indicates a strong relationship between the slope spectrum and the loess landform types,displaying a potential importance of the slope spectrum in geomorphological studies. Based on the slope spectrums derived from the 25 m-resolution DEM data in whole loess terrain in northern part of Shaanxi,13 slope spectrum indices were extracted and integrated into a compre-hensive layer with image integration method. Based on that,a series of unsuper-vised classifications was applied in order to make a landform classification in northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau. Experimental results show that the slope spec-trum analysis is an effective method in revealing the macro landform features. A continuous change of slope spectrum from south to north in northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau shows an obvious spatial distribution of different loess landforms. 2Chinese progress in geomorphometry显示文摘Geomorphometry,the science of digital terrain analysis(DTA),is an important focus of research in both geomorphology and geographical information science(GIS).Given that 70% of China is mountainous,geomorphological research is popular among Chinese scholars,and the development of GIS over the last 30 years has led to significant advances in geomorphometric research.In this paper,we review Chinese progress in geomorphometry based on the published literature.There are three major areas of progress:digital terrain modelling methods,DTA methods,and applications of digital terrain models(DTMs).First,traditional vector-and raster-based terrain modelling methods,including the assessment of uncertainty,have received widespread attention.New terrain modelling methods such as unified raster and vector,high-fidelity,and real-time dynamic geographical scene modelling have also attracted research attention and are now a major focus of digital terrain modelling research.Second,in addition to the popular DTA methods based on topographical derivatives,geomorphological features,and hydrological factors extracted from DTMs,DTA methods have been extended to include analyses of the structure of underlying strata,ocean surface features and even socioeconomic spatial structures.Third,DTMs have been applied to fields including global climate change,analysis of various typical regions,lunar surface and other related fields.Clearly,Chinese scholars have made significant progress in geomorphometry.Chinese scholars have had the greatest international impact in areas including high-fidelity digital terrain modelling and DTM-based regional geomorphological analysis,particularly in the Loess Plateau and the Tibetan Plateau regions.LV Guonian XIONG Liyang CHEN Min TANG Guoan SHENG Yehua LIU Xuejun SONG Zhiyao LU Yuqi YU Zhaoyuan ZHANG Ka WANG Meizhen 2017Journal of Geographical Sciences2017,27,11:14
3Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric cancer with peritoneal metastasis:A multicenter propensity scorematched cohort study显示文摘Objective:Systemic chemotherapy has limited efficacy in the treatment of peritoneal metastasis(PM)in gastric cancer(GC).Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC)combined with complete cytoreductive surgery(CRS)has shown promising outcomes but remains controversial.The present study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of HIPEC without CRS in GC patients with PM.Methods:This retrospective propensity score-matched multicenter cohort study included GC patients with PM treated with either chemotherapy alone(Cx group)or with HIPEC combined with chemotherapy(HIPEC-Cx group)in four Chinese high-volume gastric medical centers between 2010 and 2017.The primary outcomes were median survival time(MST)and 3-year overall survival(OS).Propensity score matching was performed to compensate for controlling potential confounding effects and selection bias.Results:Of 663 eligible patients,498 were matched.The MST in the Cx and HIPEC-Cx groups was 10.8 and 15.9 months,respectively[hazard ratio(HR)=0.71,95%confidence interval(95%CI),0.58-0.88;P=0.002].The 3-year OS rate was 10.1%(95%CI,5.4%-14.8%)and 18.4%(95%CI,12.3%-24.5%)in the Cx and HIPEC-Cx groups,respectively(P=0.017).The complication rates were comparable.The time to first flatus and length of hospital stay for patients undergoing HIPEC combined with chemotherapy was longer than that of chemotherapy alone(4.6±2.4 d vs.2.7±1.8 d,P<0.001;14.2±5.8 d vs.11.4±7.7 d,P<0.001),respectively.The median follow-up period was 33.2 months.Conclusions:Compared with standard systemic chemotherapy,HIPEC combined with chemotherapy revealed a statistically significant survival benefit for GC patients with PM,without compromising patient safety.Ziying Lei Jiahong Wang Zhi Li Baozhong Li Jiali Luo Xuejun Wang Jin Wang MingchenBa Hongsheng Tang Qingjun He Quanxing Liao Xiansheng Yang Tianpei Guan Han Liang Shuzhong Cui 2020Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,6:11
4Spatiotemporal Variations of Meteorological Droughts in China During 1961–2014: An Investigation Based on Multi-Threshold Identification显示文摘As a major agricultural country, China suffers from severe meteorological drought almost every year.Previous studies have applied a single threshold to identify the onset of drought events, which may cause problems to adequately characterize long-term patterns of droughts.This study analyzes meteorological droughts in China based on a set of daily gridded(0.5° 9 0.5°) precipitation data from 1961 to 2014. By using a multi-threshold run theory approach to evaluate the monthly percentage of precipitation anomalies index(Pa), a drought events sequence was identified at each grid cell. The spatiotemporal variations of drought in China were further investigated based on statistics of the frequency, duration,severity, and intensity of all drought events. Analysis of the results show that China has five distinct meteorological drought-prone regions: the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, Northeast China, Southwest China, South China coastal region,and Northwest China. Seasonal analysis further indicates that there are evident spatial variations in the seasonal contribution to regional drought. But overall, most contribution to annual drought events in China come from the winter. 5Microstructure Evolution and Tensile Properties of Ti_3Al/Ni-based Superalloy Welded Joint显示文摘In the present work,the dissimilar joining of a Ti_3AI-based alloy to a Ni-based superalloy was attempted by gas tungsten arc(GTA) welding technology.Sound joints were successfully achieved by using a Cu—Ni alloy as filler material.According to X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis results three transitional layers at the weld/Ti_3AI interface were verified as follows:Ti_2AINb phase dissolved with Cu and Ni;AI(Cu,Ni)_2Ti,(Cu,Ni)_2Ti and(Nb,Ti) solid solution;Cu-rich phase and a complex multi-element phase.The In718/weld interface is characterized by solid solutions of Ni,Cu,Cr,Fe and Nb.The average tensile strength of the as-welded joints at room temperature is 1 63 MPa,and after a post—weld heat treatment it is increased slightly to 177 MPa.The fracture occurred at the surfacial layer of the joined Ti_3AI base alloy,indicating that the Ti_2AINb layer dissolved with Cu and Ni is the weak link of the Ti_3AI/ln71 8 joint.Bingqing Chen Huaping Xiong Bingbing Sun Siyi Tang Shaoqing Guo Xuejun Zhang 2014Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,7:7

7Atmospheric deposition of inorganic nitrogen in a semi-arid grassland of Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Due to increasing global demand for crop production and energy use, more and more reactive nitrogen(Nr) has been generated and emitted to the environment. As a result, global atmospheric nitrogen(N) deposition has tripled since the industrial revolution and the ecological environment and human health have been harmed. In this study, we measured dry and wet/bulk N deposition from July 2013 to December 2015 in a semi-arid grassland of Duolun County, Inner Mongolia, China. The samples of dry and wet/bulk N deposition were collected monthly with a DELTA(DEnuder for Long Term Atmospheric sampling) system and with Gradko passive samplers and a precipitation gauge. The measured results show that the annual mean concentrations of NH_3, NO_2, HNO_3, particulate NH_4^+(pNH_4^+) and particulate NO_3^-(pNO_3^-) in atmosphere were 2.33, 1.90, 0.18, 1.42 and 0.42 μg N/m3, respectively, and that the annual mean volume-weighted concentrations of NH_4^+-N and NO_3^--N in precipitation were 2.71 and 1.99 mg N/L, respectively. The concentrations of Nr components(including NH_3, NO_2, HNO_3, p NH_4^+, pNO_3^-, NH_4^+-N and NO_3^--N) exhibited different seasonal variations. Specifically, NO_2 and HNO_3 exhibited higher concentrations in autumn than in summer, while the other Nr components(NH_3, pNH_4^+, pNO_3^-, NH_4^+-N and NO_3^--N) showed the highest values in summer. Based on measured concentrations of Nr components and their deposition velocities estimated using the GEOS-Chem global atmospheric chemical transport model, the calculated annual mean dry deposition fluxes were 3.17, 1.13, 0.63, 0.91 and 0.36 kg N/(hm^2·a) for NH_3, NO_2, HNO_3, p NH_4^+ and pNO_3^-, respectively, and the calculated annual mean wet/bulk deposition fluxes were 5.37 and 3.15 kg N/(hm^2·a) for NH_4^+-N and NO_3^--N, respectively. The estimated annual N deposition(including dry N deposition and wet/bulk N deposition) reached 14.7 kg N/(hm^2·a) in grassland of Duolun County, approaching to the upper limit of the N critical load(10–15 kg N/(hm^2·a)). Dry and wet/bulk deposition fluxes of all Nr components(with an exception of HNO_3) showed similar seasonal variations with the maximum deposition flux in summer and the minimum in winter. Reduced Nr components(e.g., gaseous NH_3 and p NH_4^+ in atmosphere and NH_4^+-N in precipitation) dominated the total N deposition at the sampling site(accounted for 64% of the total N deposition), suggesting that the deposited atmospheric Nr mainly originated from agricultural activities. 8Wavy PtCu alloy nanowire networks with abundant surface defects enhanced oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Bimetalic platinum-copper(Pt-Cu)alloy nanowires have emerged as a novel class of fuel cell electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)due to their intrinsic high catalytic activity and durability,but preparing such electrocatalysts with clean surface via facile method is still a challenge.Herein,PtCu alloy with nanowire networks(NWNs)structure is obtained by a simple modified polyol method accompanied with a salt-mediated self-assembly process in a water/ethylene glycol(EG)mixing media.The formation mechanism of PtCu NWNs including the morphological evolution and the relevant experimental parameters has been investigated systematically.We propose that a micro-interface in H2O-EG media formed with the assistance of disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate(Na2H2P2O7)and its unique nature of coordinating with Pt^2+ or Cu^2+ play critical roles in the formation of NWNs.When tested as ORR catalyst,the PtCuNWNs/C exhibits much higher activity and durability than that of PtNWNs/C and commercial PtC,even exceeding the target of DOE in 2020.The excellent performance of PtCuNWNs/C could be attributed to the unique structure of NWNs with 2.4 nm ultrathin wavy nanowires and plentiful surface defects and the modified electronic effect caused by alloying with Cu atoms.Dahui Fang Lei Wan Qike Jiang Hongjie Zhang Xuejun Tang Xiaoping Qin Zhigang Shao Zidong Wei 2019Nano Research2019,12,11:4

10MPtostream:an OpenMP compiler for CPU-GPU heterogeneous parallel systems显示文摘In light of GPUs' powerful floating-point operation capacity,heterogeneous parallel systems incorporating general purpose CPUs and GPUs have become a highlight in the research field of high performance computing(HPC).However,due to the complexity of programming on GPUs,porting a large number of existing scientific computing applications to the heterogeneous parallel systems remains a big challenge.The OpenMP programming interface is widely adopted on multi-core CPUs in the field of scientific computing.To effectively inherit existing OpenMP applications and reduce the transplant cost,we extend OpenMP with a group of compiler directives,which explicitly divide tasks among the CPU and the GPU,and map time-consuming computing fragments to run on the GPU,thus dramatically simplifying the transplantation.We have designed and implemented MPtoStream,a compiler of the extended OpenMP for AMD's stream processing GPUs.Our experimental results show that programming with the extended directives deviates from programming with OpenMP by less than 11% modification and achieves significant speedup ranging from 3.1 to 17.3 on a heterogeneous system,incorporating an Intel Xeon E5405 CPU and an AMD FireStream 9250 GPU,over the execution on the Xeon CPU alone.YANG XueJun TANG Tao WANG GuiBin JIA Jia XU XinHai 2012Science China(Information Sciences)2012,55,9:3
11PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ion concentrations decreased faster in urban than rural areas in China显示文摘We investigated variations of PM_(2.5)and water-soluble inorganic ions chemical characteristics at nine urban and rural sites in China using ground-based observations.From 2015 to 2019,mean PM_(2.5)concentration across all sites decreased by 41.9μg/m~3with a decline of 46%at urban sites and 28%at rural sites,where secondary inorganic aerosol(SIAs)contributed to 21%(urban sites)and 17%(rural sites)of the decreased PM_(2.5).SIAs concentrations underwent a decline at urban locations,while sulfate(SO_(4)^(2–)),nitrate(NO_(3)^(–)),and ammonium(NH_(4)^(+))decreased by 49.5%,31.3%and 31.6%,respectively.However,only SO_(4)^(2–)decreased at rural sites,NO_(3)^(–)increased by 21%and NH_(4)^(+)decreased slightly.Those changes contributed to an overall SIAs increase in 2019.Higher molar ratios of NO_(3)^(–)to SO_(4)^(2–)and NH_(4)^(+)to SO_(4)^(2–)were observed at urban sites than rural sites,being highest in the heavily polluted days.Mean molar ratios of NH_(3)/NH_xwere higher in 2019 than 2015 at both urban and rural sites,implying increasing NH_xremained as free NH_(3).Our observations indicated a slower transition from sulfate-driven to nitrate-driven aerosol pollution and less efficient control of NO_(x)than SO_(2)related aerosol formation in rural regions than urban regions.Moreover,the common factor at urban and rural sites appears to be a combination of lower SO_(4)^(2–)levels and an increasing fraction of NO_(3)^(–)to PM_(2.5)under NH_(4)^(+)-rich conditions.Our findings imply that synchronous reduction in NO_(x)and NH_(3)emissions especially rural areas would be effective to mitigate NO_(3)^(–)-driven aerosol pollution.Yangyang Zhang Aohan Tang Chen Wang Xin Ma Yunzhe Li Wen Xu Xiaoping Xia Aihua Zheng Wenqing Li Zengguo Fang Xiufen Zhao Xianlong Peng Yuping Zhang Jian Han Lijuan Zhang Jeffrey L.Collett Jr Xuejun Liu 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,12:2

13Projected Changes in Extreme High Temperature and Heat Stress in China显示文摘High temperature accompanied with high humidity may result in unbearable and oppressive weather. In this study,future changes of extreme high temperature and heat stress in China's Mainland are examined based on daily maximum temperature(T_x) and daily maximum wet-bulb globe temperature(T_w). T_w has integrated the effects of both temperature and humidity. Future climate projections are derived from the bias-corrected climate data of five general circulation models under the Representative Concentration Pathways(RCPs) 2.6 and 8.5 scenarios. Changes of hot days and heat waves in July and August in the future(particularly for 2020-50 and 2070-99), relative to the baseline period(1981-2010), are estimated and analyzed. The results show that the future T_x and T_w of entire China will increase by 1.5-5℃ on average around 2085 under different RCPs. Future increases in T_x and T_w exhibit high spatial heterogeneity, ranging from 1.2 to 6℃ across different regions and RCPs. By around 2085, the mean duration of heat waves will increase by 5 days per annum under RCP8.5. According to T_x, heat waves will mostly occur in Northwest and Southeast China, whereas based on T_w estimates, heat waves will mostly occur over Southeast China and the mean heat wave duration will be much longer than those from T_x. The total extreme hot days(T_x or T_w > 35℃) will increase by 10-30 days. Southeast China will experience the severest heat stress in the near future as extreme high temperature and heat waves will occur more often in this region, which is particularly true when heat waves are assessed based on T_w. 14Concentrations and isotopic characteristics of atmospheric reactive nitrogen around typical sources in Beijing,China显示文摘With rapid economic growth in China,anthropogenic reactive nitrogen(Nr) emissions have more than doubled over the last two or three decades.Atmospheric Nr pollution is an environmental concern in China especially in megacities such as Beijing.In order to identify the impact of emission sources on atmospheric Nr pollution,we measured atmospheric Nr concentrations and their isotopic composition(δ^(15)N) dynamics at three typical sites:landfill,pig farm and road traffic sites in Beijing from April 2010 to March 2011.Passive samplers were used for monitoring ammonia(NH_3) and nitrogen dioxide(NO_2),two major Nr species,while their δ^(15)N values were measured by a diffusion method combined with mass spectrometer approach.The raw water pool of the landfill and fattening house of the pig farm were important NH_3 sources with mean NH_3 concentrations being 2,829 and 2,369 μg/m^3,respectively,while the road traffic site was a minor NH_3 source(10.6 μg/m^3).NH_3 concentrations at sites besides the landfill and roads were high in summer and low in winter due to the annual variation of temperature and the change of emission source intensity.In contrast,the NH_3 concentrations inside the pig farm house were high in winter and low in summer,for the barn windows were open in summer and closed in winter.The mean NO_2 concentrations were 89.8,32.9 and 23.0 μg/m^3 at the road traffic,the landfill and pig farm sites,respectively.Due to vehicle fuel combustion,NO_2 concentration at the road traffic was the highest among the three sources,and the road traffic was a main NO_2 emission source.PM10,p NH4+ and p NO3– concentrations in particulate matter were higher in summer than in winter(except PM10 for the pig farm).The δ^(15)NH_3 values ranged from –19.14‰ to 7.82‰,with an average of –0.05‰ for the landfill site,and the lowest values were observed in June and July.The δ^(15)NH_3 values for the pig farm site ranged from –29.78‰ to –14.05‰ with an average of –24.51‰,and the δ^(15)NH_3 values were more negative in summer than in the other seasons.The δ^(15)NO_2 values were –9.63‰ to 7.04‰ with an average of –3.72‰ for the road traffic site.The δ^(15)NO_2 values were more negative in summer than those in the other seasons.The different δ^(15)N values for the various Nr species in different sources may serve as important indicators for identifying atmospheric Nr sources in megacities.The results may also provide the theoretical basis for research on the atmospheric N deposition and its sources.LIU Jieyun ZHANG Ying LIU Xuejun TANG Aohan QIU Husen ZHANG Fusuo 2016Journal of Arid Land2016,8,6:2
15Cadmium pollution from phosphate fertilizers in arable soils and crops:an overview显示文摘The application of mineral and organic phosphorus fertilizers to arable land has greatly increased crop yield to meet the world food demand.On the other hand,impurities in these fertilizers,such as heavy metals,are being added to agricultural soils,resulting both from the raw materials themselves and the processes used to obtain the final product.Cadmium,a non-essential and toxic heavy metal,has been found in relatively high amounts in common P fertilizers obtained from sediments.This metal poses a high risk for soil fertility,crop cultivation,and plants in general.Furthermore,human health might be compromised by the cadmium concentrations in agricultural and livestock products,due to the bioaccumulation effect in the food web.The accumulation in the different matrixes is the result of the high mobility and flexible availability of this harmful metal.This review summarizes risks to human health,the factors influencing cadmium movement in soils and crop uptake,as well as common plant responses to its toxicity.In addition,it summarizes cadmium balances in soils,trends,long-term experiments,and further studies.Cadmium inputs and outputs in arable soil,together with their calculated concentrations,are compared between two different regions:the European countries(in particular Germany)and China.The comparison appears useful because of the different proportions in the inputs and outputs of cadmium,and the diverse geographical,environmental and social factors.Moreover,these variables and their influences on cadmium contamination improve the understanding of the pollution from phosphate fertilizers and will help to establish future mitigation policies.Andrea Giovanna NINO-SAVALA Zhong ZHUANG Xin MA Andreas FANGMEIER Huafen LI Aohan TANG Xuejun LIU 2019Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2019,6,4:2
162,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin promotes migration ability of primary cultured rat astrocytes via aryl hydrocarbon receptor显示文摘Emerging evidence showed that 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin(TCDD) could induce expression of certain reactivation-associated genes in astrocytes, however, the consequent cellular effects and molecular mechanisms are still unclear. During the process of astrocyte reactivation, migration is a critical cellular event. In the present study, we employed woundhealing assay and Transwell? motility assay to explore the effects of TCDD on cell migration in primary cultured rat cortical astrocytes. We found that upon TCDD treatments at relative low concentrations(10^(-10) and/or 10^(-9) mol/L), the ability of primary astrocytes to migrate horizontally and vertically was promoted. In line with this cellular effect, the mR NA expression of two promigratory genes, including cell division cycle 42(CDC42) and matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP2)was induced by TCDD treatment. Dioxin exerts its toxic effects mainly through aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR) pathway. So the role of AhR pathway in the pro-migratory effects of TCDD was examined using an AhR antagonist, CH223191. We found that application of CH223191 significantly reversed the pro-migratory effects of TCDD. Interestingly, the basal ability of horizontal migration as well as basal levels of CDC42 and MMP2 expression were dramatically reduced suggesting a possible physiological role of AhR in maintaining the endogenous migration ability of the primary astrocytes.
