1Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine preparations in patients with chronic heart failure:a prospective,single-blind,randomized,controlled,and multicenter clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) of Western medication plus Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) preparations.METHODS: This prospective, single-blind, randomized, controlled, and multicenter clinical trial began on September 17, 2008, and was completed on June 25, 2011. A total of 340 inpatients, aged 40-79 years, with exacerbating CHF from 10 hospitals were enrolled and randomly allocated within 24 h of admission. The trial included three intervention periods. During hospitalization, the control group received western medication for CHF and the treatment group received Danhong injection with Shenfu injection or Shenmai injection. After discharge,all patients were treated with Qiliqiangxin capsules and Buyiqiangxin tablets or a placebo for 6 months. After the 6-month intervention, both groups received only continuous western medication. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality.The efficacy assessments were as follows: B-type natriuretic peptide(BNP), Lee's HF score, the 6-minute walking test(6 MWT), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF), and the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ). The safety assessments were as follows: blood and urine routine examination, hepatic and renal function, electrolytes in blood and adverse events.RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the treatment group showed a 30.99% reduction in all-cause mortality and an improved survival rate.The treatment group showed greater improvement in 6 MWT(P = 0.02) than the control group on discharge, after 12-month follow-up, there was a time-group interaction for MLHFQ(P = 0.03). 2Spatial gradient distributions of thermal shock-induced damage to granite显示文摘In this study,we attempted to investigate the spatial gradient distributions of thermal shock-induced damage to granite with respect to associated deterioration mechanisms.First,thermal shock experiments were conducted on granite specimens by slowly preheating the specimens to high temperatures,followed by rapid cooling in tap water.Then,the spatial gradient distributions of thermal shock-induced damage were investigated by computed tomography(CT)and image analysis techniques.Finally,the influence of the preheating temperature on the spatial gradients of the damage was discussed.The results show that the thermal shock induced by rapid cooling can cause more damage to granite than that induced by slow cooling.The thermal shock induced by rapid cooling can cause spatial gradient distributions of the damage to granite.The damage near the specimen surface was at a maximum,while the damage inside the specimen was at a minimum.In addition,the preheating temperature can significantly influence the spatial gradient distributions of the thermal shock-induced damage.The spatial gradient distribution of damage increased as the preheating temperature increased and then decreased significantly over 600C.When the preheating temperature was sufficiently high(e.g.800C),the gradient can be ignored.Lifeng Fan Jingwei Gao Xiuli Du Zhijun Wu 2020Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2020,12,5:11
3Local icariin application enhanced periodontal tissue regeneration and relieved local inflammation in a minipig model of periodontitis显示文摘Periodontitis is an inflammatory autoimmune disease. Treatment should alleviate inflammation, regulate the immune reaction and promote periodontal tissue regeneration. Icariin is the main active ingredient of Epimedii Folium, and it is a promising compound for the enhancement of mesenchymal stem cell function, promotion of bone formation, inhibition of bone resorption, alleviation of inflammation and regulation of immunity. The study investigated the effect of icariin on periodontal tissue regeneration in a minipig model of periodontitis. The minipig model of periodontitis was established. Icariin was injected locally. The periodontal clinical assessment index, a computed tomography(CT) scan, histopathology and enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA)were used to evaluate the effects of icariin. Quantitative analysis results 12 weeks post-injection demonstrated that probing depth,gingival recession, attachment loss and alveolar bone regeneration values were(3.72 ± 1.18) mm vs.(6.56 ± 1.47) mm,(1.67 ± 0.59)mm vs.(2.38 ± 0.61) mm,(5.56 ± 1.29) mm vs.(8.61 ± 1.72) mm, and(25.65 ± 5.13) mm3 vs.(9.48 ± 1.78) mm3 in the icariin group and0.9% NaCl group, respectively. The clinical assessment, CT scan, and histopathology results demonstrated significant enhancement of periodontal tissue regeneration in the icariin group compared to the 0.9% NaCl group. The ELISA results suggested that the concentration of interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β) in the icariin group was downregulated compared to the 0.9% NaCl group, which indicates that local injection of icariin relieved local inflammation in a minipig model of periodontitis. Local injection of icariin promoted periodontal tissue regeneration and exerted anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory function. 4Investigation on experimental load spectrum for high and low cycle combined fatigue test显示文摘As the outfield load spectrum is so complicated that it cannot be used directly for test study in laboratory.This paper presents a method to determine load spectrum for high and low cycle combined fatigue of turbine mortise at elevated temperature through experimental and numerical method.First of all,the low cycle load spectrum with duration time is determined through cumulative damage rule.The rain flow counting method is applied to obtain main cycles and sub cycles,and then the stress cycle is converted into pulsation cycle(stress ratio=0)based on the S-N curve and the Goodman curve;Secondly,three groups of different amplitudes tests are established to determine the high cycle amplitude.Finally,another three groups of the high-low combined cycle fatigue(HLCCF)tests for turbine mortise of a certain type engine are carried out.The results show that the macro and micro failure modes are identical with outfield's,which verifies the accuracy of the conversion method.Rongqiao Wang Jiaming Wei Dianyin Hu Xiuli Shen Jiang Fan 2013Propulsion and Power Research2013,2,4:4
5High?Index?Faceted Ni_3S_2 Branch Arrays as Bifunctional Electrocatalysts for Efficient Water Splitting显示文摘For efficient electrolysis of water for hydrogen generation or other valueadded chemicals, it is highly relevant to develop low-temperature synthesis of low-cost and high-e ciency metal sulfide electrocatalysts on a large scale. Herein, we construct a new core–branch array and binder-free electrode by growing Ni_3S_2 nanoflake branches on an atomic-layer-deposited(ALD) TiO_2 skeleton. Through induced growth on the ALD-TiO_2 backbone, cross-linked Ni_3S_2 nanoflake branches with exposed { 210} highindex facets are uniformly anchored to the preformed TiO_2 core forming an integrated electrocatalyst. Such a core–branch array structure possesses large active surface area, uniform porous structure, and rich active sites of the exposed { 210 } high-index facet in the Ni_3S_2 nanoflake. Accordingly, the TiO_2@Ni_3S_2 core/branch arrays exhibit remarkable electrocatalytic activities in an alkaline medium, with lower overpotentials for both oxygen evolution reaction(220 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)) and hydrogen evolution reaction(112 m V at 10 mA cm^(-2)), which are better than those of other Ni_3S_2 counterparts. 7Citric acid-assisted synthesis of nano-Ag/BiO Br with enhanced photocatalytic activity显示文摘In this study, silver nano-particles have been anchored in the surface of Bi OBr photocatalysts by a citric acid-assisted photoreduction method. The citric acid was served as a chelating and reductive agent for the preparation of Ag-decorated Bi OBr photocatalysts(named as Ag/Bi OBr-2). The as-synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and UV-Vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy(DRS). The Ag/Bi OBr-2 photocatalyst exhibited excellent and stable photocatalytic activities on MO and phenol degradation under simulated sunlight irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic activity could be ascribed to the smaller size, rough surface, and the surface plasma resonance(SPR) effect of Ag. Also, the Schottky junction, between the surface of the Bi OBr and silver nanoparticles, accelerated the efficient transfer and separation of photoinduced electron-hole pairs and promoted the photocatalytic performance. The active species tests indicated that the superoxide radical(·O-2) was responsible for the enhanced photocatalytic performance of Ag/Bi OBr-2. 11Increasing Winter Conductive Heat Transfer in the Arctic Sea-ice-covered Areas: 1979–2014显示文摘Sea ice is a quite sensitive indicator in response to regional and global climate changes. Based on monthly mean PanArctic Ice Ocean Modeling and Assimilation System(PIOMAS) sea ice thickness fields, we computed the conductive heat flux(CHF) in the Arctic Ocean in the four winter months(November–February) for a long period of 36 years(1979–2014). The calculated results for each month manifest the increasing extension of the domain with high CHF values since 1979 till 2014. In 2014, regions of roughly 90% of the central Arctic Ocean have been dominated by the CHF values larger than 18 Wm^(-2)(November–December) and 12 Wm^(-2)(January–February), especially significant in the shelf seas around the Arctic Ocean. Moreover, the population distribution frequency(PDF) patterns of the CHF with time show gradually peak shifting toward increased CHF values. The spatiotemporal patterns in terms of the trends in sea ice thickness and other three geophysical parameters, surface air temperature(SAT), sea ice thickness(SIT), and CHF, are well coupled. This suggests that the thinner sea ice cover preconditions for the more oceanic heat loss into atmosphere(as suggested by increased CHF values), which probably contributes to warmer atmosphere which in turn in the long run will cause thinner ice cover. 20Adsorption Mechanism of Acetylene Hydrogenation on the Pd (111) Surface显示文摘First-principles calculations are carried out to examine the adsorption of acetylene over the Pd(111)surface.A hydrogen adsorption system is initially investigated to confirm the reliability of the selected calculation method.Adsorption energies,Mulliken-populations,overlap populations,charge density,and projected density of states(PDOS)are then calculated in the optimised acetylene adsorption system.Results show that C_(2)H_(2) molecule tends to adsorb through the threefold parallel-bridge configuration that is computed to be the most stable.In this structure,the distance of the C-H bond is calculated to be 1.09 Å,and the C-C-H bond angle is 128°.The distance of the C-C bond in acetylene is 1.36 Å,increasing from 1.21 Å in the gas phase.Moreover,the C-C bond overlap population decreases from 1.98 to 1.38,revealing that the carbon configuration in C2H2 rehybridises from sp to sp^(2) and beyond.The obtained results are compared with available experimental studies on acetylene hydrogenation on single-metal surfaces.The PDOS study indicates that a carbonaceous layer may generate on the metal surface during acetylene adsorption.The carbonaceous layer can affect the adsorption and reaction of acetylene,thereby inactivating the metal surface.Our experiments also show that Pd exhibits high catalytic activity.Xuejia Xie Xiuli Song Wenyan Dong Zhenhai Liang Caimei Fan Peide Han 2014Chinese Journal of Chemistry2014,32,7:1
