1Inactivation of Cryptosporidium by ozone and cell ultrastructures显示文摘The fluorescence staining method and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to study the effect of ozone (O3) inactivating Cryptosporidium in water and cell ultrastructures variation to shed light on the mechanism of inactivation preliminarily.Results indicated that O3 had a stronger inactivating capability.When the concentration of O3 was above 3.0 mg/L and the contact time was up to 7 min,a significant inactivating effect could be achieved.The turbidity on inactivation effects was also found to be statistically significant in artificial water.With increases in turbidity,the inactivating effect decreased.Inactivation rate improved with a temperature increase from 5 to 25°C,but decreased beyond this.The inactivating capability of O3 was found to be stronger under acidic than that under alkalic conditions.When the concentration of organic matter in the reaction system was increased,the competition between Cryptosporidium and organics with O3 probably took place,thereby reducing the inactivation rate.In addition,the cellular morphology of Cryptosporidium varied with different contact times.At zero contact time,cells were rotundity and sphericity,at 60 sec they became folded,underwent emboly,and burst at 480 sec,the cell membrane of Cryptosporidium shrinked and collapsed completely.Zhilin Ran Shaofeng Li Junli Huang Yixing Yuan Chongwei Cui Craig Denver Williams 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,12:11

3Conceptual study of lunar-based SAR for global change monitoring显示文摘As an active microwave remote sensing imaging sensor, Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) plays an important role in earth observation. Here we establish a SAR system based on the platform of the moon. This will aid large-scale, constant, and long-term dynamic Earth observations to better meet the needs of global change research and to complement the space borne and airborne earth observations. Lunar-based SAR systems have the characteristics of high resolution and wide swath width. The swath width could be thousands of kilometers in the stripe mode and it could cover 40% of earth's surface with 10 meters or even higher spatial resolution in the scanning mode. Using the simplified observation model, here we quantitatively analyze the spatial resolution and coverage area of lunar-based SAR and simulate the observation on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau and the Amazon plain. The results show that this system could provide near 100% daily coverage of the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, whereas 40% to 70% daily coverage of the Amazon plain. 5Sustainable land-use patterns for arid lands: A case study in the northern slope areas of the Tianshan Mountains显示文摘Sustainable land use patterns are ecological and economic prerequisites of regional sustainable development. This is especially true for arid lands, where the environment is wholly fragile thanks to extremely limited precipitation, and where human activities have greatly transformed natural desert system by clearing natural vegetation, expanding oases and even building dams on inland rivers. However, the current studies on land use patterns are still characterized by field investigations and case studies, with almost no solid scientific basis. This paper holds that land types and their combination patterns are the principal basis for designing sustainable land use patterns, and that GIS and RS-based large-scale land type mapping and the study of their spatial combination structures should be coordinated with the demand of social development. The existing environmental problems induced by irrational land use mostly result from their deviation from the natural properties of land types. Taking the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains (NSTM) as an example and considering land type patterns as the basis of land use patterns, this paper improves the vertical oasis-and-mid-mountain two-belts development model and the sustainable mountain land use model for arid lands put forward in recent years; and in terms of oases patterns, it outlines oasis development models, including intensive land use pattern in alluvial-diluvial fans, moderate agricultural development pattern in alluvial plains, and ecological land use pattern in river-end oases.LUO Geping FENG Yixing ZHANG Baiping CHENG Weiming 2010Journal of Geographical Sciences2010,20,4:6
6Differentiation of Hepatocellular Carcinoma from Hepatic Hemangioma and Focal Nodular Hyperplasia using Computed Tomographic Spectral Imaging显示文摘Background and Aims:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common primary hepatic malignancy.This study was designed to investigate the value of computed tomography(CT)spectral imaging in differentiating HCC from hepatic hemangioma(HH)and focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH).Methods:This was a retrospective study of 51 patients who underwent spectral multiple-phase CT at 40–140 keV during the arterial phase(AP)and portal venous phase(PP).Slopes of the spectral curves,iodine density,water density derived from iodine-and water-based material decomposition images,iodine uptake ratio(IUR),normalized iodine concentration,and the ratio of iodine concentration in liver lesions between AP and PP were measured or calculated.Results:As energy level decreased,the CT values of HCC(n=31),HH(n=17),and FNH(n=7)increased in both AP and PP.There were significant differences in IUR in the AP,IUR in the PP,normalized iodine concentration in the AP,slope in the AP,and slope in the PP among HCC,HH,and FNH.The CT values in AP,IUR in the AP and PP,normalized iodine concentration in the AP,slope in the AP and PP had high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating HH and HCC from FNH.Quantitative CT spectral data had higher sensitivity and specificity than conventional qualitative CT image analysis during the combined phases.Conclusions:Mean CT values at low energy(40–90 keV)and quantitative analysis of CT spectral data(IUR in the AP)could be helpful in the differentiation of HCC,HH,and FNH.Weixia Li Ruokun Li Xiangtian Zhao Xiaozhu Lin Yixing Yu Jing Zhang Kemin Chen Weimin Chai Fuhua Yan 2021Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,3:6
7Relationship Between Changes of River-lake Networks and Water Levels in Typical Regions of Taihu Lake Basin,China显示文摘The typical regions of the Taihu Lake Basin,China,were selected to analyze the variation characteristics of river-lake networks under intensive human activities.The characteristics of the fractal dimension of river networks and lakes for different periods were investigated and the influences of river system evolution on water level changes were further explored through the comparison of their fractal characters.The results are as follows:1) River network development of the study area is becoming more monotonous and more simple;the number of lakes is reducing significantly,and the water surface ratio has dropped significantly since the 1980s.2) The box dimension of the river networks in all the cities of the study area decreased slowly from the 1960s to the 1980s,while the decrease was significant from the 1980s to the 2000s.The variations of lake correlation dimension are similar to those of the river network box dimensions.This is unfavorable for the storage capacity of the river networks and lakes.3) The Hurst exponents of water levels were all between 0.5 and 1.0 from the 1960s to the 1980s,while decreased in the 2000s,indicating the decline in persistence and increase in the complexity of water level series.The paper draws a conclusion that the relationship between the fractal dimension of river-lake networks and the Hurst exponents of the water level series can reveal the impacts of river system changes on flood disasters to some extent:the disappearance of river networks and lakes will increase the possibility of flood occurrence.YIN Yixing XU Youpeng CHEN Ying 2012Chinese Geographical Science2012,22,6:6
8Artificial periosteum in bone defect repair--A review显示文摘Periosteum is a thin membrane that encases the surfaces of most bones.It is composed of an outer fibrous layer contains longitudinally oriented cells and collagen fibers and an inner cambial layer that consists of multipotent mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)and osteogenic progenitor cells.Periosteum has a function of regulating cell and collagen arrangement,which is important to the integrity,modelling and remodelling of bone,particularly during bone defect repair.Apart from autograft and allograft,artificial periosteum,or tissue-engineered periosteum mimicking native periosteum in structure or function,made up of small intestinal submucosa,acellular dermis,induced membrane,cell sheets,and polymeric scaffolds,and so on,has been developed to be used in bone defect repair.In this review,we classify the artificial periosteum into three approaches based on the material source,that is,native tissues,scaffoldfree cell sheets and scaffold-cell composites.Mechanisms,methods and efficacy of each approach are provided.Existing obstacles and enabling technologies for future directions are also discussed.Quan Wang Jianxiang Xu Haiming Jin Wenhao Zheng Xiaolei Zhang Yixing Huang Zhiyong Qian 2017Chinese Chemical Letters2017,28,9:6
9Effectiveness of Catch-Up Vaccinations after COVID-19 Containment--China,2020显示文摘Introduction:In the early stages of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic in China,the highest level of public health emergency response(Level 1 Response)was launched in all province-level administrative divisions(PLADs)across the country.Provision of vaccination services was selectively suspended due to the physical distancing and gathering restrictions required of Level 1 Response.The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on vaccination services and the effectiveness of selective vaccination service suspension and catch-up vaccinations in China.Methods:Vaccine doses administered,routine vaccination coverage levels,catch-up vaccine doses administered,and coverage levels after the catch-up campaign were determined from individual vaccination records in sampled clinics,standard routine immunization administrative coverage reports,and catch-up vaccination activity reports submitted by PLADs between October 2019 and October 2020.Results:National Immunization Program(NIP)and non-NIP vaccine doses administered in sampled clinics decreased by 80% and 90%,respectively,compared with doses administered before the COVID-19 pandemic.Coverage with the birth dose of hepatitis B vaccine(HepB1)and the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine(BCG)—two vaccinations recommended to continue throughout the epidemic due to their timecritical nature—were maintained at over 85%,while coverage of other NIP vaccines decreased to below 60%by February 2020.Catch-up vaccination coverage of the 29 PLADs,excluding Xinjiang and Xizang(Tibet),began in April 2020 and exceeded 90%;Hubei catch-up coverage was 95% by October 2020.Conclusions and Implications for Public Health Practice:The COVID-19 pandemic had a great impact on China’s vaccination services.During the epidemic and time of local transmission of the coronavirus,HepB1,BCG,rabies vaccine for postexposure prophylaxis,and tetanus antitoxin(TAT)for wound prophylaxis were maintained at high levels.Of the 69 million vaccine doses postponed during the time of local transmission of the coronavirus,94% were administered in the catch-up campaign.China’s pandemic immunization practices may provide evidence for other countries’immunization programs.Jing Wu Wenzhou Yu Lei Cao Lingsheng Cao Lance Rodewald Jiakai Ye Yifan Song Li Li Xiaoxue Liu Ning Wen Fuzhen Wang Lixin Hao Yixing Li Hui Zheng Keli Li Chao Ma Dan Wu Yanmin Liu Guomin Zhang Zhijie An Huaqing Wang Zundong Yin 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,50:6
10Preparation of nitrogen and sulfur co-doped ultrathin graphitic carbon via annealing bagasse lignin as potential electrocatalyst towards oxygen reduction reaction in alkaline and acid media显示文摘Renewable lignin used for synthesizing materials has been proven to be highly potential in specific electrochemistry.Here,we report a simple method to synthesize nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon nanosheets by using bagasse lignin,denoted as lignin-derived carbon(LC).By adjusting the ratio of nitrogen source and annealing temperature,we obtained the ultrathin graphitic lignin carbon(LC-4-1000)with abundant wrinkles with high surface area of 1208 m2g_1 and large pore volume of 1.40 cm3g_1.In alkaline medium,LC-4-1000 has more positive half-wave potential and nearly current density compared to commercial Pt/C for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).More importantly,LC-4-1000 also exhibits comparable activity and superior stability for ORR in acid medium due to its high graphitic N ratio and a direct four electron pathway for ORR.This study develops a cost-effective and highly efficient method to prepare biocarbon catalyst for ORR in fuel cells.Yixing Shen Feng Peng Yonghai Cao Jianliang Zuo Hongjuan Wang Hao Yu 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,7:5

12Lignin derived multi-doped(N, S, Cl) carbon materials as excellent electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction in proton exchange membrane fuel cells显示文摘Nowadays,hierarchically macro-/meso-/microporous 3D carbon materials have been paid more attention due to their imaginative application potential in specific electrochemistry.Here,we report a dualtemplate strategy using eutectic NaCl/ZnCl2 melt as airtight and swelling agent to obtain 3D mesoporous skeleton structured carbon from renewable lignin.The prepared lignin-derived biocarbon material(LN-3-1)has a high specific surface area(1289 m^2 g^-1),a large pore volume(2.80 cm^3 g^-1),and a well-connected and stable structure.LN-3-1 exhibits extremely high activity and stability in acidic medium for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR),superior to Pt/C catalyst and most non noble-metal catalysts reported in recent literatures.The prepared carbon material was used as a cathode catalyst to assemble a H2-O2 single fuel cell,and its excellent catalytic performance has been confirmed with the maximum power density of 779 mW cm^-2,which is one of the highest power densities among non-metallic catalysts so far.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations indicate that the synergy of chlorine and nitrogen reconciles the intermediate adsorption energies,leading to an appropriate theoretical ORR onset potential.We develop a cost-effective and highly efficient method to prepare biocarbon catalyst for ORR in proton-exchange membrane fuel cells.Yixing Shen Yuhang Li Guangxing Yang Qiao Zhang Hong Liang Feng Peng 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,5:5
13DNA sensing and associated type 1 interferon signaling contributes to progression of radiation-induced liver injury显示文摘Liver damage upon exposure to ionizing radiation(IR),whether accidental or therapeutic,can contribute to liver dysfunction.Currently,radiotherapy(RT)is used for various cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC);however,the treatment dose is limited by radiation-induced liver disease(RILD)with a high mortality rate.Furthermore,the precise molecular mechanisms of RILD remain poorly understood.Here,we investigated RILD pathogenesis using various knockout mouse strains subjected to whole-liver irradiation.We found that hepatocytes released a large quantity of double-stranded DNA(dsDNA)after irradiation.The cGAS-STING pathway in non-parenchymal cells(NPCs)was promptly activated by this dsDNA,causing interferon(IFN)-I production and release and concomitant hepatocyte damage.Genetic and pharmacological ablation of the IFN-I signaling pathway protected against RILD.Moreover,clinically irradiated human peri-HCC liver tissues exhibited substantially higher STING and IFNβexpression than non-irradiated tissues.Increased serum IFNβconcentrations post-radiation were associated with RILD development in patients.These results delineate cGAS-STING induced type 1 interferon release in NPCs as a key mediator of IR-induced liver damage and described a mechanism of innate-immunity-driven pathology,linking cGAS-STING activation with amplification of initial radiation-induced liver injury.Shisuo Du Genwen Chen Baoying Yuan Yong Hu Ping Yang Yixing Chen Qianqian Zhao Jian Zhou Jia Fan Zhaochong Zeng 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,7:4

17Study on the Coincident-Loop Transient Electromagnetic Method in Seafloor Exploration——Taking Jiaodong Polymetallic Mine as a Model显示文摘The transient electromagnetic(TEM)method becomes more urgent than ever for marine ex-ploration due to abundant resource reserves and the increasing undersea engineering construction activities,especially in the offshore exploration of mineral deposits such as Sanshandao gold mine.However,the re-search and application of TEM method in marine environment are still challenged by many problems.Such contradiction motivates our study on the coincident-loop TEM in seafloor exploration.The TEM response of coincident loops is firstly derived in the integral form,based on the potential functions in Helmholtz equ-ations for a magnetic source locating in the whole-space layered model.The frequency-domain vertical magnetic field is described as the Hankel integral with double first-order Bessel functions of first kind.Se-condly,the time-domain induced voltage is obtained by transforming the frequency-domain response through the cosine transform and then taking the derivative of time.To simultaneously solve the Hankel transform and the cosine transform,a novel algorithm is introduced by adapting the fixed-point quadra-ture and extrapolation via the Shanks transformation.Finally,a typical conductivity model for marine po-lymetallic deposit is designed to investigate the characteristic of TEM response under various conditions.Numerical results demonstrate that existence of conductive seawater causes the TEM response to increase significantly and decay slower.The air-sea reflected electromagnetic waves lead to a significantly large fake negative response(NR)in shallower seawater with depth less than 300 m.Increase in the height of loops will weaken and delay the anomaly response and shorten the observation time-window.The height of configu-ration should be no more than 100 m for shallower targets and 50 m for deeper targets,respectively.The observation time-window should cover 10-1000 ms.Increase in the radius of loops only enhances the TEM response proportionally but hardly improves the relative anomaly.The vertical resolution on the low-resistivity target approximates 20 m for the configuration considered in the study.Decreases in D.C.resistivity and chargeability cause the positive response(PR)to increase significantly and decay more ra-pidly.Meanwhile,the NR is advanced and enlarged significantly and decays slower compared with the PR.The influence of time constant is not monotony and there exists an optimal value for producing the maxi-mum NR.As the frequency parameter increases,the PR is caused to decay more rapidly without magni-tude change and the NR is advanced and decays more rapidly with significant increase in magnitude.The influence of frequency parameter is more pronounced than that of time constant.Yixing Ma Junhua Hu Yanjun Chang Zujian Liu 2021Journal of Earth Science2021,32,1:3
18Multi-objective Optimisation Design of Water Distribution Systems:Comparison of Two Evolutionary Algorithms显示文摘In order to compare two advanced multi-objective evolutionary algorithms,a multi-objective water distribution problem is formulated in this paper.The multi-objective optimization has received more attention in the water distribution system design.On the one hand the cost of water distribution system including capital,operational,and maintenance cost is mostly concerned issue by the utilities all the time;on the other hand improving the performance of water distribution systems is of equivalent importance,which is often conflicting with the previous goal.Many performance metrics of water networks are developed in recent years,including total or maximum pressure deficit,resilience,inequity,probabilistic robustness,and risk measure.In this paper,a new resilience metric based on the energy analysis of water distribution systems is proposed.Two optimization objectives are comprised of capital cost and the new resilience index.A heuristic algorithm,speedconstrained multi-objective particle swarm optimization( SMPSO) extended on the basis of the multi-objective particle swarm algorithm,is introduced to compare with another state-of-the-art heuristic algorithm,NSGA-II.The solutions are evaluated by two metrics,namely spread and hypervolume.To illustrate the capability of SMPSO to efficiently identify good designs,two benchmark problems( two-loop network and Hanoi network) are employed.From several aspects the results demonstrate that SMPSO is a competitive and potential tool to tackle with the optimization problem of complex systems.Haixing Liu Jing Lu Ming Zhao Yixing Yuan 2016Journal of Harbin Institute of Technology(New Series)2016,23,3:3
19Validation and Scenario Analysis of a Soil Organic Carbon Model显示文摘A model developed by the authors was validated against independent data sets. The data sets were obtained from field experiments of crop residue decomposition and a 7-year soil improvement in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province. Model validation indicated that soil organic carbon dynamics can be simulated from the weather variables of temperature, sunlight and precipitation, soil clay content and bulk density, grain yield of previous crops, qualities and quantities of the added organic matter. Model simulation in general agreed with the measurements. The comparison between computed and measured resulted in correlation coefficient γ2 values of 0.9291 * * * (n = 48) and 0. 6431 * * (n = 65) for the two experiments, respectively. Model prediction under three scenarios of no additional organic matter input, with an annual incorporation of rice and wheat straw at rates of 6.75t/ha and 9.0t/ha suggested that the soil organic carbon in Wanshi Township of Yixing City would be from an initial value of 7.85g/kg in 1983 to 6.30g/kg, 11.42g/kg and 13g/kg in 2014, respectively. 20Change of Flood Patterns in China under the Influences of Climate Change and Human Activities显示文摘Based on the flood affected area(FA) data of the provinces in China from 1950 to 2005,the article discusses the change of the flood patterns in China,and investigates its relationship with climate change and human activities.The flood center shifted from North China and the Yangtze-Huaihe basin in the 1950s towards the south,north and west of China,and located in the south of the Yangtze River and South China after the 1990s.The FA in the western provinces was continuously on the rise since the 1950s.There are two characteristics for the future flood pattern in China.The pattern of 'flood in the south and drought in the north' depends on the north-south shift of the maximum rainfall region in eastern China.The flood intensification to the west of Hu Huanyong's line mainly results from the increase of rainfall,extreme precipitation and the melting of glaciers under the background of human activity magnification.Yin Yixing Xu Youpeng Chen Ying 2009Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2009,7,3:2
