| 1 | Geochronology, geochemistry, and its geological significance of the Permian Mandula mafic rocks in Damaoqi, Inner Mongolia显示文摘The Hujierte-Chaganhadamiao volcanic-plutonic sequence is located in the Mandula area of northern Damaoqi, Inner Mongolia. It contains mainly mafic volcanics, with several ultramafic blocks in its central part and mafic-intermediate intrusions in the east. The zircon U-Pb ages of the gabbro and basalt samples are 278.5±3.0 Ma (MSWD=0.66) and 273.7±1.0 Ma (MSWD=0.36), respectively. These ages constrain the magmatism occurred in the Early Permian. The Mandula Permian mafic rocks are characterized by low abundances of REE and slightly LREE-enriched chondrite-normalized N-MORB-type REE patterns. And these mafic samples have high ( 143 Nd/ 144 Nd) i (0.51262-0.51270), relatively high positive ε Nd (t) (3.4-8.0), and high Mg # (49-54), suggesting derivation from the depleted asthenosphere mantle source. But they also show the enrichment in large ion lithophile elements (LILE, e.g. Rb, Ba and Sr), depletion in high field strength elements (HFSE); distinctly negative Nb, Ta anomalies and slightly negative P, Ti anomalies; high ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr) i (0.70490-0.70537), low ( 206 Pb/ 204 Pb) i (17.39-17.93). All of these resemble the characteristics of the enriched mantle source or involvement of arc materials in the magma genesis. Furthermore, as shown in the correlation plots of ε Nd (t) vs ( 87 Sr/ 86 Sr) i , ( 206 Pb/ 204 Pb) i vs ( 207 Pb/ 204 Pb) i and ( 208 Pb/ 204 Pb) i , La/Ba La/Nb vs La/Nb, and La/Nb ratio, the magma source could have been experienced the contamination and metasomation from the previous subduction process. And the positive correlation between the selected major oxides and trace elements could be explained by the contamination from continental crust and arc materials during the magmatic emplacement. | 2 | Single-cell transcriptome analysis of the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) associated gene ACE2 expression in normal and non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) human male testes显示文摘Being infected by SARS-CoV-2 may cause damage to multiple organs in patients, such as the lung, liver and heart. Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2), reported as a SARS-CoV-2 receptor, is also expressed in human male testes. This suggests a potential risk in human male reproductive system. However, the characteristics of ACE2-positive cells and the expression of other SARS-CoV-2 process-related genes are still worthy of further investigation. Here, we performed singlecell RNA seq(scRNA-seq) analysis on 853 male embryo primordial germ cells(PGCs) and 2,854 normal testis cells to assess the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on the male reproductive system from embryonic stage to adulthood. We also collected and constructed the scRNA-seq library on 228 Sertoli cells from three non-obstructive azoospermia(NOA) patients to assess the effects at disease state. We found that ACE2 expressing cells existed in almost all testis cell types and Sertoli cells had highest expression level and positive cells ratio. Moreover, ACE2 was also expressed in human male PGCs. In adulthood, the level of ACE2 expression decreased with the increase of age. We also found that ACE2 positive cells had high expressions of stress response and immune activation-related genes. Interestingly, some potential SARS-CoV-2 process-related genes such as TMPRSS2, BSG, CTSL and CTSB had different expression patterns in the same cell type. Furthermore, ACE2 expression level in NOA donors’ Sertoli cells was significantly decreased. | 3 | Mesozoic and Cenozoic uplift and exhumation of the Bogda Mountain,NW China: Evidence from apatite fission track analysis显示文摘Apatite fission track(AFT)analysis on samples collected from a Paleozoic series is used to constrain the cooling history of the Bogda Mountain,northwest China.AFT ages range from 136.2 to 85.6 Ma and are younger than rock depositional ages and the mean confined track lengths(11.0e13.2 mm)mostly showing unimodal distribution are shorten,indicating significant track-annealing.Thermal histories modeling based on the distribution of fission-track lengths combined with the regional geological data show that two rapid cooling phases occurred in the latest Jurassiceearly Cretaceous and the OligoceneeMiocene.Those new data together with previous published data show that the AFT ages become younger from the southwest to northeast in the western Bogda Mountain and its adjacent areas.The fission-track ages of the southwest area are relatively older(>100 Ma),recording the earlier rapid uplift phase during the late JurassiceCretaceous,while the ages in the north piedmont of the Bogda Mountain(namely the northeast part)are younger(<60 Ma),mainly reflecting the later rapid uplift phase in the OligoceneeMiocene.The trend of younger AFT ages towards the northeast might be explained by post-Cretaceous large-scale crustal tilting towards the southwest.In the thrust fault-dominated northern limbs of the Bogda Mountain,AFT ages reveal a discontinuous pattern with age-jumps across the major fault zones,showing a possible strata tilting across each thrust faults due to the thrust ramps during the Cenozoic.The two rapid uplift stages might be related to the accretion and collision in the southern margin of the Asian continent during the late Jurassic and late Cenozoic,respectively. | Wenhao Tang Zhicheng Zhang Jianfeng Li Ke Li Zhiwen Luo Yan Chen | 2015 | Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,4: | 9 |
| 4 | Stability improvement under high efficiency—next stage development of perovskite solar cells显示文摘With efficiency of perovskite solar cells(PSCs) overpassing 23%, to realize their commercialization, the biggest challenge now is to boost the stability to the same level as conventional solar cells. Thus, tremendous effort has been directed over the past few years toward improving the stability of these cells. Various methods were used to improve the stability of bulk perovskites,including compositional engineering, interface adjustment, dimensional manipulation, crystal engineering, and grain boundary decoration. Diverse device configurations, carrier transporting layers, and counter electrodes are investigated. To compare the stability of PSCs and clarify the degradation mechanism, diverse characterization methods were developed. Overall stability of PSCs has become one central topic for the development of PSCs. | 5 | Environment controls on Mesoproterozoic thrombolite morphogenesis:A case study from the North China Platform显示文摘Thrombolites are widespread in the Mesoproterozoic Wumishan Formation in the North China Platform.This study shows that they mainly concentrated in subtidal carbonate facies with relatively low hydrodynamic conditions,rather than in intertidal zone as suggested previously.From the deep lower to the shallow upper subtidal facies,the thrombolites show evident changes in morphology from dominantly domal to tabular forms,likely suggestive of environmental controls on their morphogenesis and distribution.As the most important component in thrombolites,mesoclots typically consist of organic-rich micritic nuclei and organic-poor fibrous aragonite rims.Mesoclots may vary considerably in their morphology,but a type of specifically shaped mesoclots tends to concentrate predominantly in a particular group of thrombolites.The proportion of the fibrous aragonite rims in mesoclots decrease as the depositional environments become shallower,likely suggesting that the environmental changes also have controls on the internal fabrics of thrombolites.Putative filamentous bacterial colonies are well preserved in some aragonite fans in the matrix between mesoclots,invoking rapid precipitation and aragonite-supersaturated conditions in the ambient waters.It seems that a suboxic to anoxic environment,highly alkaline seawater and relatively low hydrodynamic conditions were among the important factors that facilitated the development and preservation of thrombolites in the Mesoproterozoic epeiric sea on the North China Platform. | Tang Dongjie Shi Xiaoying Jiang Ganqing Pei Yunpeng Zhang Wenhao | 2013 | Journal of Palaeogeography2013,2,3: | 5 |

| 7 | Effects of Angelica sinensis extracts on lipid oxidation in fish feeds and growth performance of juvenile Jian carp(Cyprinus carpio var. Jian)显示文摘The study was to explore the effect of the extracts of Angelica sinensis(EAs) on lipid oxidation in fish feeds compared with ethoxyquin(EQ) and the effect of dietary EAs on growth performance of carp(Cyprinus carpio var. Jian). Firstly, fish feeds were respectively added with EQ, and ethyl ether extract ethyl acetate extract(EAE), acetone extract, ethanol extract(EE) and aqueous extract(AQE) of Angelica sinensis, except for the control. The results showed that EAs and EQ inhibited lipid oxidation in fish feed(P < 0.05). Of all of the examined EAs, EAE showed the strongest protective effects against lipid oxidation(P < 0.05). Moreover, EAE at high concentrations showed a stronger effect on lipid oxidation compared with EQ(P < 0.05). Then, 7 experimental diets respectively supplemented with 0.0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 g/kg of EAE were fed to the respective treatment groups for 30 d. Four replicates were performed for each treatment group; 20 carp(mean weight: 12.10 ± 0.13 g) were in each replicate. The result indicated that dietary EAE improved the growth performance in carp(P < 0.05). The appropriate con centration of EAE for carp growth was estimated to be 3.643 g/kg diet. | 9 | Low intensity near-infrared light promotes bone regeneration via circadian clock protein cryptochrome 1显示文摘Bone regeneration remains a great clinical challenge. Low intensity near-infrared(NIR) light showed strong potential to promote tissue regeneration, offering a promising strategy for bone defect regeneration. However, the effect and underlying mechanism of NIR on bone regeneration remain unclear. We demonstrated that bone regeneration in the rat skull defect model was significantly accelerated with low-intensity NIR stimulation. In vitro studies showed that NIR stimulation could promote the osteoblast differentiation in bone mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs) and MC3T3-E1 cells, which was associated with increased ubiquitination of the core circadian clock protein Cryptochrome 1(CRY1) in the nucleus. We found that the reduction of CRY1 induced by NIR light activated the bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) signaling pathways, promoting SMAD1/5/9 phosphorylation and increasing the expression levels of Runx2 and Osterix. NIR light treatment may act through sodium voltage-gated channel Scn4a, which may be a potential responder of NIR light to accelerate bone regeneration. | 10 | Zircon U-Pb geochronology,geochemistry and petrogenesis of syenogranite from Angeer Yinwula area in Inner Mongolia显示文摘The study presents the results of U-Pb dating of zircons and whole-rock geochemical analyses of syenogranite in Angeer Yinwula area, China, with the aim of determining its formation time, petrogenesis and regional setting. Zircon U-Pb data obtained by LA-ICP-MS indicate that the syenogranite formed in the Early Cretaceous(136.1±0.9 Ma). Geochemically, the rock is characterized by high SiO_2(76.63%--77.58%) and Na_2O+K_2O(8.00%--8.32%), low MgO(0.02%--0.04%) and TFe_2O_3(0.51%--0.84%), and is enriched in LREEs and LILEs, depleted in HREEs and HFSEs. It belongs to high-K calc-alkaline, metaluminous-weakly peraluminous, exhibiting an affinity to I-type granite. All these characteristics implied that the syenogranite in this region derived from crust-mantle mixed source. The uncertain expanded weighted arithmetic averaging(UEWAA) operator and uncertain linguistic hybrid aggregation(ULHA) operator are extended into the interval 2-tuple linguistic environment based on uncertain linguistic multiple attribute decision making(ULMADM).And some new aggregation operators are developed, including the interval 2-tuple weighted average aggregation(IT-WAA) operator and the interval 2-tuple weighted hybrid aggregation(IT-WHA)operator. | 13 | Measurement of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxide concentrations during autumn in Beijing, China显示文摘Gaseous peroxides play important roles in atmospheric chemistry. To understand the pathways of the formation and removal of peroxides, atmospheric peroxide concentrations and their controlling factors were measured from 7:00 to 20:00 in September, October, and November 2013 at a heavily trafficked residential site in Beijing, China, with average concentrations of hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) and methyl hydroperoxide(MHP) at 0.55 ppb and 0.063 ppb, respectively. H_2O_2 concentrations were higher in the afternoon and lower in the morning and evening, while MHP concentrations did not exhibit a regular diurnal pattern. Both H_2O_2 and MHP concentrations increased at dusk in most cases. Both peroxides displayed monthly variations with higher concentrations in September. These results suggested that photochemical activity was the main controlling factor on variations of H_2O_2 concentrations during the measurement period. Increasing concentrations of volatile organic compounds emitted by motor vehicles were important contributors to H_2O_2 and MHP enrichment. | 17 | Pancreatic cancer–Staging laparoscopy显示文摘Objective: Accurate staging of patients with pancreatic cancer is crucial to clarify whether meaningful resection is indeed possible. Staging laparoscopy has been suggested as a tool for staging which may spare up to two-fifth of these patients from undergoing nontherapeutic laparotomy. A controversy exists, however, as to whether the procedure should be used routinely or selectively in these patients with no evidence of metastasis on noninvasive staging. This review aims to evaluate the available literature critically, identify its limitations and address the existing controversies. Methods: The current available English literature was reviewed on this topic. Results: A direct and conclusive comparison of the controversial literature is difficult because of inconsistent use of high-quality CT scans, different study designs and dissimilarity of judgment for non-resectability among patients staged by laparoscopy. However, recent studies reveal that not more than 14% of the patients benefit from diagnostic laparoscopy when a dual-contrast thin cut and 3-D digital reformatting CT scan has been performed previously. Conclusion: We conclude that routine use of diagnostic laparoscopy does not appear warranted in all patients with pancreatic cancer, especially for patients with early-staged pancreatic cancer or non-pancreatic periampullary cancers, because diagnostic laparoscopy is costly and ultrasonography is largely operator-dependent.
