| 1 | Study on gastric cancer blood plasma based on surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy combined with multivariate analysis显示文摘A surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method combined with multivariate analysis was developed for non-invasive gastric cancer detection. SERS measurements were performed on two groups of blood plasma samples: one group from 32 gastric patients and the other group from 33 healthy volunteers. Tentative assignments of the Raman bands in the measured SERS spectra suggest interesting cancer-specific biomolecular changes, including an increase in the relative amounts of nucleic acid, collagen, phospholipids and phenylalanine and a decrease in the percentage of amino acids and saccharide in the blood plasma of gastric cancer patients as compared with those of healthy subjects. Principal components analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) were employed to develop effective diagnostic algorithms for classification of SERS spectra between normal and cancer plasma with high sensitivity (79.5%) and specificity (91%). A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was employed to assess the accuracy of diagnostic algorithms based on PCA-LDA. | 2 | Reproductive management through integration of PGD and MPS-based noninvasive prenatal screening/diagnosis for a family with GJB2-associated hearing impairment显示文摘A couple with a proband child of GJB2(encoding the gap junction protein connexin 26)-associated hearing impairment and a previous pregnancy miscarriage sought for a reproductive solution to bear a healthy child. Our study aimed to develop a customized preconception-to-neonate care trajectory to fulfill this clinical demand by integrating preimplantation genetic diagnosis(PGD), noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT), and noninvasive prenatal diagnosis(NIPD) into the strategy. Auditory and genetic diagnosis of the proband child was carried out to identify the disease causative mutations. The couple then received in-vitro-fertilization treatment, and eight embryos were obtained for day 5 biopsy. PGD was performed by short-tandem-repeat linkage analysis and Sanger sequencing of GJB2 gene. Transfer of a GJB2 c.235del C heterozygous embryo resulted in a singleton pregnancy. At the 13 th week of gestation, genomic DNA(g DNA) from the trio family and cell-free DNA(cf DNA) from maternal plasma were obtained for assessment of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2 mutations. NIPT and NIPD showed the absence of chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2-associated disease in the fetus, which was later confirmed by invasive procedures and postnatal genetic/auditory diagnosis. | 4 | An analysis of soil composition and mechanical properties of riverbanks in a braided reach of the Lower Yellow River显示文摘The channel adjustment in a braided reach is very prominent in the fluvial processes of the Lower Yel-low River, in which the process of bank erosion plays an important role, especially during the period of clear water scouring. The process of bank erosion is closely related to soil composition and mechani-cal properties of the riverbanks. In this paper, the recent bank erosion process in a braided reach be-tween Huayuankou and Gaocun was firstly investigated after the water impoundment and sediment detention of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir, and then a field observation and indoor soil tests were con-ducted at 10 typical riverbanks in the braided reach. Through analyzing the experimental results, changes of riverbank-soil composition and mechanical properties were found, and the two real reasons causing serious bank erosion in the braided reach were identified. The following conclusions were drawn from this study: (i) the majority of riverbanks are made up of cohesive soil, and can be charac-terized by obvious vertical stratification structures of soil composition; (ii) these riverbanks are very erodible due to the lower clay-content and weak erosion-resistant strength in the bank soil, with its critical shear stress value (0.1―0.3 Pa) being much less than that of the average near-bank flow shear stress (2.0―3.0 Pa), which is one important reason causing serious bank erosion; (iii) frequent occur-rence of bank failure during flood seasons usually results from the fact that the values of shear strength parameters such as the cohesion and internal friction angle decrease with the increase of water content in riverbank soil, and the value of cohesion reduces drastically from 34 to 4 kPa with the increase of water content, which is another important reason causing serious bank erosion in the braided reach. | XlA JunQiang WU BaoSheng WANG YanPing ZHAO ShouGang | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,15: | 11 |

| 6 | Meta-analysis of the efficacy in treatment of primary sjogren's syndrome: Traditional Chinese Medicine vs Western Medicine显示文摘OBJCTIVE: To compare the clinical efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) to Western Medicine in the treatment of primary Sj?gren's syndrome(p SS).METHODS: We collected randomized controlled trials of TCM vs Western Medicine for the treatment of p SS in Chinese and foreign databases. The study quality was evaluated as suggested in the Cochrane Handbook. The Meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.0 statistical software.RESULTS: A total of 31 randomized controlled trials with 2137 cases were retrieved. The efficiencies of TCM and control treatments were 87.18% and65.63%, respectively. The results of heterogeneity tests showed that the data were homogeneous(P = 0.83), thus a fixed effects model was used for analysis. The results revealed an odds ratio of 3.74 with a 95% confidence interval of 2.99-4.69. The overall effectiveness value was 11.48(P < 0.000 01).These results suggest the efficacy of TCM therapy for p SS better than Western Medicine.CONCLUSION: Although our findings reveal that the TCM treatment of p SS had significant advantages over its counterpart, there were some flaws in the studies included. | 7 | Psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on healthcare workers:a cross-sectional study in China显示文摘Background Healthcare workers fighting against the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic are under tremendous pressure,which puts them at an increased risk of developing psychological problems.Aims This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of psychological problems in different healthcare workers(ie,physicians,medical residents,nurses,technicians and public health professionals)during the COVID-19 pandemic in China and explore factors that are associated with the onset of psychological problems in this population during this public health crisis.Methods A cross-sectional,web-based survey was conducted in February 2020 among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.Psychological problems were assessed using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale,Patient Health Questionnaire and Insomnia Severity Index.Logistic regression analyses were used to explore the factors that were associated with psychological problems.Results The prevalence of symptoms of anxiety,depression,insomnia and the overall psychological problems in healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic in China was 46.04%,44.37%,28.75%and 56.59%,respectively.The prevalence of the overall psychological problems in physicians,medical residents,nurses,technicians and public health professionals was 60.35%,50.82%,62.02%,57.54%and 62.40%,respectively.Compared with healthcare workers who did not participate in front-line work,front-line healthcare workers had a higher risk of anxiety,insomnia and overall psychological problems.In addition,attention to negative or neutral information about the pandemic,receiving negative feedback from families and friends who joined front-line work,and unwillingness to join front-line work if given a free choice were three major factors for these psychological problems.Conclusions Psychological problems are pervasive among healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.Receiving negative information and participating in front-line work appear to be.important risk factors for psychological problems.The psychological health of different healthcare workers should be protected during the COVID-19 pandemic with timely interventions and proper information feedback. | Jianyu Que Le Shi Jiahui Deng Jiajia Liu Li Zhang Suying Wu Yimiao Gong Weizhen Huang Kai Yuan Wei Yan Yankun Sun Maosheng Ran Yanping Bao Lin Lu | 2020 | General Psychiatry2020,33,3: | 8 |
| 8 | Effects of electroacupuncture at Guanyuan(CV 4)or Sanyinjiao(SP 6)on hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary axis and spatial learning and memory in female SAMP8 mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of electroacupuncture(EA) at the Guanyuan(CV 4) or Sanyinjiao(SP 6) acupoints on the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary(HPO) axis and spatial learning and memory in female mice.METHODS: Nine-month-old female mice with senescence-accelerated mouse prone 8(SAMP8)were divided into three groups: the disease model,EA-Guanyuan and EA-Sanyinjiao groups. Concurrently, 9-month old female mice with senescence-accelerated mouse resistance 1(SAMR1)were set as the control model group. The two treatment groups were given the same pattern of EA stimulation. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH) and Serum estradiol levels in the Hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary axis were assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to determinethe HPO axis function level. Spatial learning and memory were assessed by the Morris Water Maze(MWM) test.RESULTS:(a) HPO axis: compared with the control model group, the disease model group displayed a decrease in E2 levels(P < 0.01), and an increase in Gn RH, LH and FSH levels(P < 0.01). E2 levels were increased in EA treatment groups compared with the disease model group(P < 0.05). In contrast,Gn RH and LH and FSH levels were reduced(P <0.05). EA-Sanyinjiao group was superior than EA-Guanyuan group on increasing E2 and declining Gn RH levels(P < 0.01).(b) The MWM test demonstrated that the response latency in the EA-Sanyinjiao treatment group declined from day 2 to day5 compared with the disease model group(P <0.05), whereas the EA-Guanyuan treatment group showed no significant difference.CONCLUSION: EA can regulate hormone(E2, FSH,LH, Gn RH) levels in the HPO axis and the spatial learning and memory ability in female SAMP8 mice. Moreover, this effect may have been more pronounced in the EA-Sanyinjiao group than the EA-Guanyuan group. | 10 | Effect of a comprehensive therapy plus Gushenyutai plaster administered at Guanyuan(CV 4) on male infertility associated with semen non-liquefaction显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical effect of Gushenyutai plaster administered at the Guanyuan(CV4) acupoint on male infertility associated with semen non-liquefaction.METHODS: Sixty-two male patients with infertility caused by semen non-liquefaction were random-ized into a treatment and control group. The control group received comprehensive therapy, which included oral administration of clarithromycin sustained release tablets, hip bath with Zhongyaoxiaoyan granules, prostate massage, and transurethral microwave treatment. The treatment group was administered Gushenyutai plaster in addition to the comprehensive therapy. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks. | 11 | Regulation of non-classical immune parameters in immune thrombocytopenic purpura mice by a spleen-invigorating,qi-replenishing and blood-containing formula显示文摘Objective:This study investigated the regulatory effect of non-classical immune parameters on immune thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP)mice by a spleen-invigorating,qi-replenishing and blood-containing formula(SQBF).Method:A total of 80 BALB/c mice were randomly divided into four equal groups(20 mice each):control group,model group,prednisone group and spleen-invigorating,qi-replenishing and blood-containing(SQBF)group.Mice in the model group,prednisone group,and SQBF group were administered anti-platelet serum to induce ITP.The dynamic variations of platelet counts in ITP mice were measured with an automatic blood analyzer before modeling and 48 h,and 8,12 and 15 days following APS injection.Levels of b-endorphin(b-EP),vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP)and salivary IgA(SIgA)were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)on 15th day of experiment.Results:SQBF enhanced peripheral blood platelet counts in ITP mice similar to that of prednisone,and both groups showed a statistically significant response compared with the model group(P<.01).The SQBF significantly decreased b-EP levels compared with the model and prednisone intervention groups(P<.05),significantly increased the levels of VIP and SIgA in ITP mice compared with the model group(P<.05)and had significant protective effects on the thymus of ITP mice compared with the model group(P<.01).Conclusions:The SQBF had a similar effect to prednisone with regards to enhancing peripheral blood platelet counts in ITP mice.Furthermore,it decreased b-EP levels and increased VIP and SIgA,and protected the thymus.This shows that,on base of the brain-gut axis functions,some non-classical immune vascular active factors or neurotransmitters are also involved in immune responses,and also have relationship with the onset of ITP and bleeding and/or hemostasis.It needs further study to determine whether a change in these active factors is related to immediate hemostasis. | Tiantian Li Hao He Li Hou Yue Xu Xiaoyong Wu Yanping Sun Lei Zheng Zhixiong Chen Xinyi Chen Bei Qin | 2015 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2015,2,2: | 6 |
| 12 | IL-17A-dependent gut microbiota is essential for regulating diet-induced disorders in mice显示文摘The gut microbiota plays a key role in obesity and related metabolic disorders, and multiple factors including diet, host genotype, and age regulate it. Many studies have examined the contribution of extrinsic factors to the regulation of the gut microbiota, but the importance of the host genetic constitution cannot be ignored. Interleukin 17A(IL-17A), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, is important in the defense against infection and diseases. Here, we investigated the association among IL-17, a high-fat diet(HFD), and the gut microbiota. Mice deficient in IL-17A were resistant to diet-induced obesity and related diseases. Compared with the Ⅱ-17^(-/-)mice, wild-type(WT) mice challenged with HFD showed obvious weight fluctuations, such as those seen in type 2 diabetes, and hematological changes similar to those associated with metabolic syndrome. However, housing WT mice and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice together significantly alleviated these symptoms in the WT mice. A metagenomic analysis of the mouse feces indicated that the microbial community compositions of these two groups differed before HFD feeding. The HFD mediated shifts in the gut microbial compositions, which were associated with the mouse phenotypes.We also identified potentially beneficial and harmful species present during this period, and drew networks of the most abundant species. A functional analysis indicated pathway changes in the WT and Ⅱ-17a^(-/-)mice when fed the HFD. | 18 | PhaseⅡstudy of induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy with raltitrexed and cisplatin in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Objective:For locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma(LA-NPC)patients,high incidences of distant metastases and severe treatment related toxicities are the main obstacles needed to be overcome.Raltitrexed,a specific thymidylate synthase inhibitor with a convenient administration schedule,has an acceptable and manageable toxicity,and possesses radio-sensitizing properties.To investigate the efficacy and safety of raltitrexed and cisplatin induction chemotherapy and concurrent chemoradiotherapy(IC+CCRT)in patients with LA-NPC,a phaseⅡclinical study was conducted.Methods:Sixty eligible patients with LA-NPC were enrolled into this study.A raltitrexed-cisplatin combination was used as part of an IC+CCRT regimen.Raltitrexed-cisplatin IC was given once every 3 weeks(q3 w)for two cycles,followed by raltitrexed-cisplatin based CCRT q3 w for two cycles.Intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)was given for all enrolled patients.Results:All patients were included in survival analysis according to the intent-to-treat principle.The objective response rate(ORR)3 months after treatment was 98%.The 2-year overall survival(OS)rate was 92%.The median relapse-free survival(RFS)time was 30.5[95%confidence interval(95%CI),28.4-32.3]months.The 2-year RFS rate was 85%.The 2-year local failure-free survival(LFFS)rate was 97%and the 2-year distant metastasis-free survival(DMFS)rate was 88%.Acute toxicities were mostly grade 2 and 3 reactions in bone marrow suppression,gastrointestinal side effect and oropharyngeal mucositis.Only two patients occurred grade 4 acute toxicities,one was bone marrow suppression and the other was dermatitis radiation.Conclusions:The combination of raltitrexed and cisplatin has a comparable efficacy to those in standard firstline therapy. | Yuan Wu Xueyan Wei Zilong Yuan Hongbin Xu Yanping Li Ying Li Liu Hu Guang Han Yu Qian Desheng Hu | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2020,32,5: | 4 |

| 20 | Observation of double indirect interlayer exciton in MoSe_(2)/WSe_(2) heterostructure显示文摘Interlayer excitons(IXS)are electron–hole pairs bound in the spatial separation layer by the Coulomb effect,and their lifetime is several orders of magnitude longer than that of direct excitons,providing an essential platform for long-lived exciton devices.The recent emergence of the van der Waals heterostructure(HS),which combines two layers of different transitional metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),has created new opportunities for IX research.Herein,we demonstrate the observation of double indirect interlayer excitons in the MoSe_(2)/WSe_(2)HS using photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy.The intensities of the two peaks are essentially the same,and the energy difference is 22 meV,which is perfectly in line with the calculation result of density functional theory.Furthermore,the experience of variable excitation power also proves that the splitting of the IXs originates from the conduction band spin-splitting of MoSe_(2).The observation results provide a promising platform for further exploring the new physical properties and optoelectronic phenomena of TMD HS. | Biao Wu Yunpeng Wang Jiahong Zhong Cheng Zeng Yassine Madoune Wanting Zhu Zongwen Liu Yanping Liu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 3 |
