| 3 | Allotransplantation of adult spinal cord tissues after complete transected spinal cord injury: long-term survival and functional recovery in canines显示文摘Spinal cord injury(SCI), especially complete transected SCI, leads to loss of cells and extracellular matrix and functional impairments. In a previous study, we transplanted adult spinal cord tissues(aSCTs) to replace lost tissues and facilitate recovery in a rat SCI model. However, rodents display considerable differences from human patients in the scale, anatomy and functions of spinal cord systems, and responses after injury. Thus, use of a large animal SCI model is required to examine the repair efficiency of potential therapeutic approaches. In this study, we transplanted allogenic aSCTs from adult dogs to the lesion area of canines after complete transection of the thoracic spinal cord, and investigated the long-term cell survival and functional recovery. To enhance repair efficiency, a growth factor cocktail was added during aSCT transplantation, providing a favorable microenvironment. The results showed that transplantation of a SCTs, in particular with the addition of growth factors, significantly improves locomotor function restoration and increases the number of neurofilament-, microtubule-associated protein2-, 5-hydroxytryptamine-, choline acetyltransferase-and tyrosine hydroxylase-positive neurons in the lesion area at 6 months post-surgery. In addition, we demonstrated that donor neurons in a SCTs can survive for a long period after transplantation. | 9 | Celebrity and ordinary users: A comparative study of microblog user behaviors on Sina Weibo显示文摘Purpose: This study aims to investigate and compare celebrity and ordinary users' behaviors on Sina Weibo.Design/methodology/approach: Data was collected from 12,555 ordinary users and 2,467 celebrity users on Sina Weibo. Correlation and regression analysis was performed on users' number of followings, number of followers and number of posts.Findings: The results revealed significant difference between famous and ordinary users' behaviors on Sina Weibo. We found correlation among ordinary users' number of followings, number of followers and number of posts, but for celebrity users, only their number of followings and number of posts are related with each other. For both ordinary and celebrity users, their number of followings significantly affects how many posts they publish.Research limitations: We only carried out our investigation on Sina Weibo and the findings need to be further verified on other microblogging platforms. | 13 | High performance architecture for unified forward and inverse transform of HEVC显示文摘High efficiency video coding(HEVC) transform algorithm for residual coding uses 2-dimensional(2D) 4×4 transforms with higher precision than H.264's 4×4 transforms, resulting in increased hardware complexity. In this paper, we present a shared architecture that can compute the 4×4 forward discrete cosine transform(DCT) and inverse discrete cosine transform(IDCT) of HEVC using a new mapping scheme in the video processor array structure. The architecture is implemented with only adders and shifts to an area-efficient design. The proposed architecture is synthesized using ISE14.7 and implemented using the BEE4 platform with the Virtex-6 FF1759 LX550T field programmable gate array(FPGA). The result shows that the video processor array structure achieves a maximum operation frequency of 165.2 MHz. | 15 | One-step synthesis of novel core-shell bimetallic hexacyanoferrate for high performance sodium-storage cathode显示文摘Recently, the design of core-shell hierarchical architecture plays an important role in improving the electrochemical performance of Prussian blue analogue cathodes(PBAs). Unfortunately, the inconvenient stepwise preparation and the strict lattice-matching requirement have restricted the development of coreshell PBAs. Herein, we demonstrate a one-step synthesis strategy to synthesize core-shell manganese hexacyanoferrate(MnFeHCF@MnFeHCF) for the first time. And the formation mechanism of the core-shell hierarchical architecture is investigated by first-principles calculations. It is found that the as-obtained Mn FeHCF@MnFeHCF act out the superior intrinsic natures, which not only can obtain a larger specific surface area and lower Fe(CN)_(6) vacancies but also can activate more Na-storage sites. Compared with the manganese hexacyanoferrate(MnHCF), the iron hexacyanoferrate(FeHCF), and even the traditional coreshell nickel hexacyanoferrate(FeHCF@NiHCF) prepared by a stepwise method, the Mn Fe HCF@MnFeHCF demonstrates a superior rate performance, which achieves a high capacity of 131 mAh g^(−1) at 50 mA g^(−1) and delivers a considerable discharge capacity of about 100 mAh g^(−1) even at 1600 mA g^(−1). Meantime, the capacity retention can reach up to nearly 80% after 500 cycles. The improved performances could be mainly originated from two aspects: on the one hand, Mn substitution is helpful to enhance the material conductivity;on the other hand, the core-shell structure with matched lattice parameters is more favorable to enhance the diffusion coefficient of sodium ions. | 16 | Development of the high-strength ductile ferritic alloys via regulating the intragranular and grain boundary precipitation of G-phase显示文摘A typical G-phase strengthened ferritic model alloy(1Ti:Fe-20Cr-3Ni-1Ti-3Si,wt.%)has been carefully studied using both advanced experimental(EBSD,TEM and APT)and theoretical(DFT)techniques.During the classic“solid solution and aging”process,the superfine(Fe,Ni)_(2)TiSi-L2_(1)particles densely precipitate within the ferritic grain and subsequently transform into the(Ni,Fe)_(16)Ti_(6)Si_(7)-G phase.In the meanwhile,the elemental segregation at grain boundaries and the resulting precipitation of a large amount of the(Ni,Fe)_(16)Ti_(6)Si_(7)-G phase are also observed.These nanoscale microstructural evolutions result in a remarkable increase in hardness(100-300 HV)and severe embrittlement.When the“cold rolling and aging”process is used,the brittle fracture is effectively suppressed without loss of nano-precipitation strengthening ef-fect.Superhigh yield strength of 1700 MPa with 4%elongation at break is achieved.This key improvement in mechanical properties is mainly attributed to the pre-cold rolling process which effectively avoids the dense precipitation of the G-phase at the grain boundary.These findings could shed light on the further exploration of the precipitation site via optimal processing strategies. | Mujin Yang Chao Huang Jiajia Han Haichen Wu Yilu Zhao Tao Yang Shenbao Jin Chenglei Wang Zhou Li Ruiying Shu Cuiping Wang Huanming Lu Gang Sha Xingjun Liu | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,5: | 0 |
| 17 | Versatile photonic molecule switch in multimode microresonators显示文摘Harnessing optical supermode interaction to construct artificial photonic molecules has uncovered a series of fundamental optical phenomena analogous to atomic physics.Previously,the distinct energy levels and interactions in such two-level systems were provided by coupled microresonators.The reconfigurability is limited,as they often require delicate external field stimuli or mechanically altering the geometric factors.These highly specific approaches also limit potential applications.Here,we propose a versatile on-chip photonic molecule in a multimode microring,utilizing a flexible regulation methodology to dynamically control the existence and interaction strength of spatial modes.The transition between single/multi-mode states enables the“switched-off/on”functionality of the photonic molecule,supporting wider generalized applications scenarios.In particular,“switched-on”state shows flexible and multidimensional mode splitting control in aspects of both coupling strength and phase difference,equivalent to the a.c.and d.c.Stark effect.“Switched-off”state allows for perfect low-loss single-mode transition(Qi~10 million)under an ultra-compact bend size(FSR~115 GHz)in a foundry-based silicon microring.It breaks the stereotyped image of the FSR-Q factor trade-off,enabling ultra-wideband and high-resolution millimeter-wave photonic operations.Our demonstration provides a flexible and portable solution for the integrated photonic molecule system,extending its research scope from fundamental physics to real-world applications such as nonlinear optical signal processing and sixth-generation wireless communication. | Zihan Tao Bitao Shen Wencan Li Luwen Xing Haoyu Wang Yichen Wu Yuansheng Tao Yan Zhou Yandong He Chao Peng Haowen Shu Xingjun Wang | 2024 | Light(Science & Applications)2024,13,3: | 0 |
| 18 | A flexible solid polymer electrolyte enabled with lithiated zeolite for high performance lithium battery显示文摘Solid-state lithium batteries using composite polymer electrolytes(CPEs)have attracted much attention owing to their higher safety compared to liquid electrolytes and flexibility compared to ceramic electrolytes.However,their unsatisfactory lithium-ion conductivity still limits their development.Herein,a high ion conductive CPE with multiple continuous lithium pathways is designed.This new electrolyte consists of poly(vinylidene fluorideco-hexafluoropropylene)(PVDF-HFP)and lithiated X type zeolite(Li-X),which possesses a high ionic conductivity(1.98×10^(-4)S/cm),high lithium transference number(t_(Li^(+))=0.55),wide electrochemical window(4.7 V),and excellent stability against the lithium anode.Density functional theory(DFT)calculation confirms that the Lewis acid sites in zeolite can graft with N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)and PVDF-HFP chains,resulting in decreased crystallinity of polymer and providing rapid Li+transmission channels.When used in a full cell,the solid Li|Li-X-3%|LiFePO_(4) cell displays excellent cycling stability and rate performance at room temperature and 60℃.Furthermore,pouch cells with the Li-X-3%electrolyte exhibit brilliant safety under extreme conditions,such as folding and cutting.Thus,this proposed zeolite-PVDF-HFP CPE represents a promising potential in the application of making a safer,higher performing,and flexible solid-state lithium battery. | Zhiyu Ding Qiming Tang Qi Zhang Penghui Yao Xingjun Liu Junwei Wu | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 0 |
