5Fabrication of submicron barium sulfate aggregates in the presence of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid anions显示文摘Barium sulfate aggregates with an average size of 0.5 μm were synthesized at pH 7,directed by ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid(EDTA) anions.The particle morphology,chemical composition,and size distribution of the BaSO_4 aggregates were characterized.The as-synthesized BaSO_4 particles were spherical and comprised many interconnected nanoballs,of which the surface properties were affected by the EDTA anions.The adsorption of EDTA anions reversed the charge and weakened the surface polarity of BaSO_4,instigating the formation of aggregates by a self-assembly and transformation process.The resulting BaSO_4 particles at pH 9-10 were ellipsoidal and featured smooth surfaces.Based on the zeta potential of BaSO_4,variations in the morphology induced by changes in pH were closely related to the adsorption of mono- and multi-valent anions onto the electrical double layer of BaSO_4.Linna Hu Guangxiu Wang Chun Yang Rong Cao 2015Particuology2015,13,5:11
6Purification and Characterization of a New Thermostable κ-CarrageenasefromtheMarineBacterium Pseudoalteromonas sp. QY203显示文摘A new extracellular κ-carrageenase, namely CgkP, 34.0 kDa in molecular weight, was purified from Pseudoalteromonas sp. QY203. CgkP showed relatively high activity at acidities ranging from pH6.0 to pH9.0 and temperatures ranging from 30℃ to 50℃ with the highest activity at 45℃ and pH7.2. Sodium chloride increased its activity markedly, and KCl increased its activity slightly. The divalent and trivalent metal ions including Cu2+ , Ni2+ , Zn2+ , Mn2+ , Al3+ and Fe3+ significantly inhibited its activity, while Mg2+ did not. CgkP remained 70% of original activity after being incubated at 40℃ for 48 h, and remained 80% of the activity after being incubated at 45℃ for 1 h. It exhibited endo-κ-carrageenase activity, mainly depolymerizing the κ-carrageenan into disaccharide and tetrasaccharide. 7Circumjacent distribution pattern of the Lungmachian graptolitic black shale(early Silurian) on the Yichang Uplift and its peripheral region显示文摘Stratigraphic hiatuses of variable time intervals within the Rhuddanian to early Aeronian(Llandovery, Silurian) are identified in the area bordering East Chongqing, West Hubei and Northwest Hunan in central China. Their distribution suggested the existence of a local uplift, traditionally named the Yichang Uplift. The diachronous nature of the basal black shale of the Lungmachi Formation crossing different belts of this Uplift signifies the various developing stages during the uplifting process.The present paper defines the temporal and spatial distribution pattern of the Yichang Uplift, which might be one of the important controlling factors for the preservation and distribution of the shale gas in this region, as it has been demonstrated that the shale gas exploration is generally less promising in the areas where more of the basal part of the Lungmachi Formation is missing.Therefore, better understanding of the circumjacent distribution pattern developed throughout the uplifting process may provide the important guidance for the shale gas exploration. The present work is a sister study to the published paper, 'Stage-progressive distribution pattern of the Lungmachian black graplolitic shales from Guizhou to Chongqing, Central China'. 9Environmental conditions and genetic differentiation:what drives the divergence of coexisting Leymus chinensis ecotypes in a large-scale longitudinal gradient?显示文摘Aims The two coexisting Leymus chinensis ecotypes exhibit remarkable divergences in adaptive strategies under drought and salinity in semi-humid meadows and semi-arid steppes.In order to detect the major genetic and environmental factors dominating the intraspecific phenotype variations and ecotype formation,the questions regarding the two distinct phenotypic forms(ecotypes)in L.chin-ensis were addressed:(i)did environments drive the L.chinensis ecotype formation?(ii)was there a molecular basis for the morphological divergence between the two ecotypes?(iii)which driving force dominated the intraspecies divergence,divergent natural selection,genetic drift or stabilizing selection?Methods We applied a series experiments on demographical,morphological and physiological traits of two Leymus chinensis ecotypes with gray green(GG)and yellow green(YG)leaf color in nine wild sites along a longitudinal gradient from 114°to 124°E in northeast China.The environmental data including mean annual precipitation,mean annual temperature,elevation and soil properties were collected.We compared the differences of morphological,physiological and genetic differentiations between the two ecotypes.Important FindingsThe GG type exhibited stronger fitness than YG type from the population densities,morphological traits(e.g.shoot height,leaf area,leaf and seed weights et al.),leaf mass per area(LMA)and physiological traits[relative water content(RWC),proline,soluble sugar contents].Most of above phenotypes(e.g.total shoot densities,spike length et al.)were significantly correlated with mean annual precipitation,mean annual temperature and soil water content(SWC),rarely a correlated with soil pH and soil nutrient.Transplanted populations showed convergence trend by their leaf chlorophyll contents and osmotic adjustments(proline and soluble sugar contents)in the greenhouse,but still exhibited their divergences between two ecotypes in the outdoor transplantation,suggesting that whether L.chinensis ecotype differentiated could be largely affected by the environmental conditions.Furthermore,by the comparison result of quantitative genetic variation(Q_(ST))values from phenotypes with theoretical neutral genetic differentiation(F_(ST)),differentiation in phenotypic traits greatly surpassed neutral predictions,implying that directional natural selection played a crucial role in L.chinen-sis ecotype differentiation.In addition,microsatellite analysis from Neighbor-joining tree and Bayesian assignment generated into two groups according to ecotypes,indicating molecular genetic differentiation also propelled the two ecotypes divergence.We conclude that L.chinensis population variations were driven by combing divergent natural selection(precipitation,temperature and SWCs)along the large-scale gradient and significantly intrinsic genetic differentiation.Shan Yuan Chengyuan Guo Linna Ma Renzhong Wang 2016Journal of Plant Ecology2016,9,5:4

13Intestinal dysbiosis exacerbates the pathogenesis of psoriasis-like phenotype through changes in fatty acid metabolism显示文摘The intestinal microbiota has been associated with host immunity as well as psoriasis;however,the mechanism of intestinal microbiota regulating psoriasis needs to be demonstrated systematically.Here,we sought to examine its role and mechanism of action in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.We found that the severity of psoriasis-like skin phenotype was accompanied by changes in the composition of the intestinal microbiota.We performed co-housing and fecal microbial transplantation(FMT)experiments using the K14-VEGF transgenic mouse model of psoriasis and demonstrated that the transfer of intestinal microbiota from mice with severe psoriasis-like skin phenotype exacerbated psoriasiform skin inflammation in mice with mild symptoms,including increasing the infiltration and differentiation of Th17,and increased the abundance of Prevotella,while decreasing that of Parabacteroides distasonis,in the colon.These alterations affected fatty acid metabolism,increasing the abundance of oleic and stearic acids.Meanwhile,gentamicin treatment significantly reduced the abundance of Prevotella and alleviated the psoriasis-like symptoms in both K14-VEGF mice and imiquimod(IMQ)-induced psoriasis-like mice.Indeed,administration of oleic and stearic acids exacerbated psoriasis-like symptoms and increased Th17 and monocyte-derived dendritic cell infiltration in the skin lesion areas in vivo,as well as increased the secretion of IL-23 by stimulating DCs in vitro.At last,we found that,treatment of PDE-4 inhibitor alleviated psoriasis-like phenotype of K14-VEGF mice accompanied by the recovery of intestinal microbiota,including the decrease of Prevotella and increase of Parabacteroides distasonis.Overall,our findings reveal that the intestinal microbiota modulates host metabolism and psoriasis-like skin inflammation in mice,suggesting a new target for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis.Qixiang Zhao Jiadong Yu Hong Zhou Xiaoyan Wang Chen Zhang Jing Hu Yawen Hu Huaping Zheng Fanlian Zeng Chengcheng Yue Linna Gu Zhen Wang Fulei Zhao Pei Zhou Haozhou Zhang Nongyu Huang Wenling Wu Yifan Zhou Jiong Li 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,2:2
14Fabrication and characterization of 3D printed biocomposite scaffolds based on PCL and zirconia nanoparticles显示文摘The application of three-dimensional printed polymer scaffolds in repairing bone defects is a promising strategy.Among them,polycaprolactone(PCL)scaffolds are widely studied due to their good processability and controlled degradation rate.However,as an alternative graft for repairing bone defects,PCL materials have poor hydrophilicity,which is not conducive to cell adhesion and growth.In addition,the poor mechanical properties of PCL materials cannot meet the strength required to repair bone defects.In this paper,nano-zirconium dioxide(ZrO2)powder is embedded in PCL material through a meltmixing process,and a regular grid scaffold is constructed by 3D printing.The embedding of nanometer zirconium dioxide powder improves the hydrophilicity and water absorption of the composite scaffold,which is conducive to cell adhesion,proliferation and growth and is beneficial to the exchange of nutrients.Therefore,the PCL/ZrO2 composite scaffold showed better biological activity in vitro.At the same time,the PCL/ZrO2 composite material system significantly improves the mechanical properties of the scaffold.Among them,compared with the pure PCL scaffold,the Young’s modulus is increased by about 0.4 times,and the compressive strength is increased by about 0.5 times.In addition,the osteogenic differentiation results also showed that the PCL/ZrO2 composite scaffold group showed better ALP activity and more effective bone mineralization than the pure PCL group.We believe that the 3D printed PCL/ZrO2 composite scaffold has certain application prospects in repairing bone defects.Qifan Wang Zhiyong Ma Ying Wang Linna Zhong Wenjia Xie 2021Bio-Design and Manufacturing2021,4,1:2
15Precipitation data and their uncertainty as input for rainfallinduced shallow landslide models显示文摘Physical models used toforecast the temporal occurrence of rainfall-induced shallow landslides are based on deterministic laws.Owing to the existing measuring technology and our knowledge of the physical laws controlling landslide initiation,model uncertainties are due to an inability to accurately quantify the model input parameters and rainfall forcing data.An uncertainty analysis of slope instability prediction provides a rationale for refining the geotechnical models.The Transient Rainfall Infiltration and Grid-based Regional Slope Stability-Probabilistic(TRIGRS-P)model adopts a probabilistic approach to compute the changes in the Factor of Safety(FS)due to rainfall infiltration.Slope Infiltration Distributed Equilibrium(SLIDE)is a simplified physical model for landslide prediction.The new code(SLIDE-P)is also modified by adopting the same probabilistic approach to allow values of the SLIDE model input parameters to be sampled randomly.This study examines the relative importance of rainfall variability and the uncertainty in the other variables that determine slope stability.The precipitation data from weather stations,China Meteorological Administration Land Assimilation System 2.0(CLDAS2.0),China Meteorological Forcing Data set precipitation(CMFD),and China geological hazard bulletin are used to drive TRIGRS,SLIDE,TRIGRS-P and SLIDE-P models.The TRIGRS-P and SLIDE-P models are used to generate the input samples and to calculate the values of FS.The outputs of several model runs with varied input parameters and rainfall forcings are analyzed statistically.A comparison suggests that there are significant differences in the simulations of the TRIGRS-P and SLIDE-P models.Although different precipitation data sets are used,the simulation results of TRIGRS-P are more concentrated.This study can inform the potential use of numerical models toforecast the spatial and temporal occurrence of regional rainfall-induced shallow landslides.Yueli CHEN Linna ZHAO Ying WANG Qingu JIANG Dan QI 2019Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4:2
16A New κ-Carrageenase Cgk S from Marine Bacterium Shewanella sp. Kz7显示文摘A new κ-carrageenase gene cgk S was cloned from marine bacterium Shewanella sp. Kz7 by using degenerate and site-finding PCR. The gene was comprised of an open reading frame of 1224 bp, encoding 407 amino acid residues, with a signal peptide of 24 residues. Based on the deduced amino acid sequence, the κ-carrageenase Cgk S was classified into the Glycoside Hydrolase family 16. The cgk S gene was expressed in Escherichia coli, and the recombinant enzyme was purified to homogeneity with a specific activity of 716.8 U mg-1 and a yield of 69%. Recombinant Cgk S was most active at 45℃ and p H 8.0. It was stable at p H 6.0–9.0 and below 30℃. The enzyme did not require Na Cl for activity, although its activity was enhanced by Na Cl.
