1Effect of Liuweibuqi capsule, a Chinese patent medicine, on the JAK1/STAT3 pathway and MMP9/TIMP1 in a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease rat model显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe effect of Liuweibuqi Capsule, a Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), on the janus kinase(JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription(STAT) pathway and matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) in a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) rat model with lung deficiency in terms of TCM's pattern differentiation.METHODS: Rats were randomly divided into a normal group, model group, Liuweibuqi group, Jinshuibao group, and spleen aminopeptidase group(n=10). Aside from the normal group, all rats were ex-posed to smoke plus lipopolysaccharide tracheal instillation to establish the COPD model with lung deficiency. Models were established after 28 days and then the normal and model groups were given normal saline(0.09 g/kg), Liuweibuqi group was given Liuweibuqi capsule(0.35 g/kg), Jinshuibao group was given Jinshuibao capsules(0.495 g/kg), and the spleen group was given spleen aminopeptidase(0.33 mg/kg), once a day for 30 days. Changes in symptoms, signs, and lung histology were observed. Lung function was measured with a spirometer. Serum cytokines were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and changes in the JAK/STAT pathway, MMP-9, and MMPs inhibitor1(TIMP1) were detected by immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR, and western blotting, respectively.RESULTS: Compared with the normal group, lung tissue was damaged, and lung function was reduced in the model control group. Additionally, the levels of interleukin(IL)-1β, γ interferon(IFN-γ), and IL-6 were higher, while IL-4 and IL-10 were lower in the model control group than those in the normal group. The expressions of JAK1, STAT3, p-STAT3,and MMP-9 m RNA and protein in lung tissue were higher, and TIMP1 m RNA and protein was lower in the model group compared with the normal group.After treatment, compared with the model group,the expression of inflammatory cytokines was lower in each treatment group, and expressions of JAK/STAT pathway, MMPs were lower. Compared with the positive control groups, the Jinshuibao and spleen aminopeptidase groups, lung function was better, and JAK1, STAT3, and p-STAT3 protein were lower and TIMP1 was higher in the Liuweibuqi group.CONCLUSION: Liuweibuqi capsules can improve the symptoms of COPD possibly by regulating the expression of the JAK1/STAT3 pathway and MMP9/TIMP1.Wang Chengyang Li Zegen Liu Xiangguo Peng Qinghe Li Fang Li Da Wang Chuanbo 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,1:23

4NEECF: a project of nutrient enrichment experiments in China’s forests显示文摘Anthropogenic nitrogen(N)emissions to atmosphere have increased dramatically in China since 1980s,and this increase has aroused great concerns on its ecological impacts on terrestrial ecosystems.Previous studies have showed that terrestrial ecosystems in China are acting as a large carbon(C)sink,but its potential in the future remains largely uncertain.So far little work on the impacts of the N deposition on C sequestration in China’s terrestrial ecosystems has been assessed at a national scale.Aiming to assess and predict how ecological processes especially the C cycling respond to the increasing N deposition in China’s forests,recently researchers from Peking University and their partners have established a manipulation experimental network on the ecological effects of the N deposition:Nutrient Enrichment Experiments in China’s Forests Project(NEECF).The NEECF comprises 10 experiments at 7 sites located from north to south China,covering major zonal forest vegetation in eastern China from boreal forest in Greater Khingan Mountains to tropical forests in Hainan Island.This paper introduces the framework of the NEECF project and its potential policy implications.Enzai Du Zhang Zhou Peng Li Xueyang Hu Yuecun Ma Wei Wang Chengyang Zheng Jianxiao Zhu Jin-Sheng He Jingyun Fang 2013Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,5:13
5Electrochemical performance of MCMB/(AC+LiFePO_4) lithium-ion capacitors显示文摘Lithium-ion capacitors(LICs) were fabricated using mesocarbon microbeads(MCMB) as a negative electrode and a mixture of activated carbon(AC) and LiFePO4 as a positive electrode(abbreviated as LAC).The phase structure and morphology of LAC samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM).The electrochemical performance of the LICs was studied using cyclic voltammetry,charge-discharge rate measurements,and cycle performance testing.A LIC with 30 wt% LiFePO4 was found to have the best electrochemical performance with a specific energy density of 69.02 W h kg-1 remaining at 4 C rate after 100 cycles.Compared with an AC-only positive electrode system,the ratio of practical capacity to theoretical calculated capacity of the LICs was enhanced from 42.22% to 56.59%.It was proved that adding LiFePO4 to AC electrodes not only increased the capacity of the positive electrode,but also improved the electrochemical performances of the whole LICs via Li+ pre-doping.PING LiNa ZHENG JiaMing SHI ZhiQiang QI Jie WANG ChengYang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,6:12
6Fractal dimension of coal particles and their CH_4 adsorption显示文摘We describe the fractal analysis of three differently sized coal samples(0.350-0.833 mm,0.245-0.350 mm,and 0.198-0.245 mm).The influence of fractal dimension on CH 4 adsorption capacity is investigated.The physical parameters of the samples were determined via the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) theory.A CH 4 adsorption study over the pressures range from 0 to 5 MPa was carried out with a new volumetric measurement system.The CH 4 adsorption was measured using the differently sized coal.Two fractal dimensions,D 1 and D 2 were determined over the pressure ranges from 0 to 0.5 MPa and from 0.5 to 1 MPa,using the Frenkel-Halsey-Hill(FHH) method.We conclude that the two fractal dimensions correlate with the CH 4 adsorption capacity of the coal:increasing CH 4 adsorption capacity occurs with a corresponding increase in fractal dimension.Furthermore,D 1 and D 2 are positively correlated with surface area,pore volume,and samples size.The size distribution of the samples has fractal characteristics.Wang Chengyang Hao Shixiong Sun Wenjing Chu Wei 2012International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,6:7
7Modification of NiCoCrAlY with Pt: Part Ⅱ. Application in TBC with pure metastable tetragonal(t’) phase YSZ and thermal cycling behavior显示文摘A thermal barrier coating system comprising Pt-modified NiCoCrAlY bond coating and nanostructured 4mol.% yttria stabilized zirconia(4YSZ, hereafter) top coat was fabricated on a second generation Ni-base superalloy. Thermal cycling behavior of NiCoCrAlY-4 YSZ thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) with and without Pt modification was evaluated in ambient air at 1100?C up to 1000 cycles, aiming to investigate the effect of Pt on formation of thermally grown oxide(TGO) and oxidation resistance. Results indicated that a dual layered TGO, which consisted of top(Ni,Co)(Cr,Al)_2O_4 spinel and underlying α-Al_2O_3, was formed at the NiCoCrAlY/4 YSZ interface with thickness of 8.4μm, accompanying with visible cracks at the interface. In contrast, a single-layer and adherent α-Al_2O_3 scale with thickness of 5.6μm was formed at the interface of Pt-modified NiCoCrAlY and 4 YSZ top coating. The modification of Pt on NiCoCrAlY favored the exclusive formation of α-Al_2O_3 and the reduction of TGO growth rate, and thus could effectively improve overall oxidation performance and extend service life of TBCs. 8Age,Genesis,and Tectonic Setting of the Mo-W Mineralized Dongshanwan Granite Porphyry from the Xilamulun Metallogenic Belt,NE China显示文摘The Xilamulun molybdenum polymetallic metallogenic belt in eastern Inner Mongolia forms one of the most important Mo metallogenic belts in northeastern China. The Dongshanwan porphyry Mo-W polymetallic deposit, in the northeastern part of the Xilamulun metallogenic belt, occurs along the periphery of a granite porphyry and consists of Mo-W-Ag sulfide and oxide disseminations and veinlets in hydrothermal assemblages. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating of the Dongshanwan granite porphyry yields a crystallization age of 142.15± 0.91 Ma, whereas molybdenite Re-Os isotopic dating model ages are of 139.9–141.5 Ma and an isochron age is of 140.5± 3.2 Ma(MSWD=1.2). The age consistency indicates that the Dongshanwan deposit was a product of Early Cretaceous magmatism. The Dongshanwan granite porphyry is a high-alkali high-potassium intrusion and has high SiO_2(75.39 wt.%–76.15 wt.%), low Al_2O_3(12 wt.%–13 wt.%), Ba, Ti, P, and Sr contents, with negative Eu anomalies. The Y/Nb ratios are comparable to those of average continental crust and island arc basalts, corresponding to type-A2 granites. 9Preparation of mesoporous MgO-templated carbons from phenolic resin and their applications for electric double-layer capacitors显示文摘Mesoporous carbons were synthesized using thermoplastic phenolic resin(PF) as carbonaceous precursor and magnesium citrate as template precursor.Pore structure was determined as ink-bottle-like geometry through TEM,N2 adsorption analysis combined with TG curves.The porous carbons prepared were then applied as electrode material for electric double-layer capacitors.The capacitor performance was examined in 30 wt% KOH aqueous solution by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge measurements.The carbon prepared with MgO/PF mass ratio of 8/2 had a BET surface area of 1920 m2 g-1 and exhibited a capacitance of 220 F g-1 at a current density of 50 mA g-1.Besides,the carbon with the ratio of 4/6 had the optimize proportion of mesopores,which ensures its good rate performance that up to 98.3%,expressed as the ratio of the capacitance measured at 1000 mA g-1 against that at 50 mA g-1.LIU WenJie WANG ChengYang WANG JiuZhou JIA Fan ZHENG JiaMing CHEN MingMing 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,9:2

11Benefits of Zr addition to oxidation resistance of a single-phase (Ni,Pt)Al coating at 1373 K显示文摘A single-phase (Ni,Pt)Al coating with lean addition of Zr was prepared by co-electroplating of Pt-Zr com posite plating and subsequent gaseous alum inization treatm ents. Isotherm al and cyclic oxidation behavior of the Zr-doped (Ni,Pt)Al coating sam ples was assessed at 1373K in static air in comparison with plain nickel alum inide (NiAl) and norm al (Ni,Pt)Al coatings. Results indicated th at Zr-doped (Ni,Pt)Al coating dem onstrated a lower oxidation rate constant and reduced tendency of oxide scale spallation as well as surface rumpling, in which the enhanced oxidation perform ance was m ainly attributed to the segregation of Zr at oxide scale grain boundaries and the im proved Young's modulus of the coating.
