| 4 | Novel CagA ELISA exhibits enhanced sensitivity of Helicobacter pylori CagA antibody显示文摘AIM To develop a novel Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)CagA antibody enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)suitable for detecting serum anti-CagA antibodies with high sensitivity.METHODS Recombinant East Asian-type CagA protein was purified and immobilized for ELISA.Serum samples from 217Vietnamese individuals(110 H.pylori-infected and107 uninfected individuals)were applied.Conventional ELISA from Western-type CagA and our East Asian-type CagA ELISA were evaluated by comparing 38 subjects with the Western-type genotype and 72 subjects with the East Asian-type cagA genotype.Histological scores of the gastric mucosa were determined using the updated Sydney System to examine the relationship with anti-CagA antibody titers.RESULTS Recombinant 70-100 k Da fragments were immobilized on the ELISA plate.In ROC analysis,the area under the curve of our East Asian-type CagA ELISA was comparable to that of conventional CagA ELISA.The sensitivity of the two ELISAs differed depending on the cagA genotype.The sensitivity of East Asian-type Cag A ELISA was higher for subjects infected with East Asiantype cagA H.pylori(P<0.001),and the sensitivity of the conventional CagA ELISA tended to be higher for subjects infected with Western cagA H.pylori(P=0.056).The titer of anti-CagA antibody tended to correlate with monocyte infiltration scores(r=0.25,P=0.058)and was inversely correlated with H.pylori density(r=-0.26,P=0.043).CONCLUSION The novel ELISA is useful to detect anti-CagA antibodies in East Asian countries,and the titer may be a marker for predicting chronic gastritis. | Yuichi Matsuo Yasutoshi Kido Junko Akada Seiji Shiota Tran Thanh Binh Tran Thi Huyen Trang Ho DQ Dung Pham Huu Tung Tran Dinh Tri Ngo P Minh Thuan Le Quang Tam Bui Chi Nam Vu Van Khien Yoshio Yamaoka | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Influence of different land-use types on selected soil properties related to soil fertility in A Luoi District,Thua Thien Hue,Vietnam显示文摘Land use type affects the physicochemical properties of soil.The value of OM and TN is high in acacia soils.Strong acidity of soil is considered a serious constraint for agriculture.Suitable cash crops are acacia,cassava,banana,rice and maize.Soil fertility is affected by land-use types and land management,which exacerbates soil erosion and various other forms of soil degradation in the mountainous regions of Viet-nam.This study was conducted in A Luoi District,Thua Thien Hue,Vietnam to identify the effects of land-use types on specific soil physicochemical characteristics related to soil fertility.Soil physicochemical properties,such as organic matter(OM),total nitrogen(TN),total phosphorous(TP),and K+were significantly affected by land-use type.The results showed that the soils were sandy in rice but clay loam for acacia and cassava.The mean bulk density value of acacia soil was significantly greater than that of other soils.TN were higher in the acacia soils than those in the rice,maize,and banana soils.The OM content was significantly higher in the acacia,cassava,and banana soils than those in the rice and maize soils.The mean of exchangeable K+in the rice soil was higher compared to those in other soils and was affected by land-use type.The high exchangeable acidity content in the soils was probably due to intensive precipitation.However,both land use type and management did not affect the CEC value.Overall,the inappropriate land use caused the disturbance of soil physicochemical properties,indicating that the conditions of rice and maize soils are becoming worse than acacia soils.Therefore,lowering the intensity of cultivation,adopting incorporated soil fertility management,and applying organic fertilizer should preserve the existing conditions and enhance soil properties. | Khoa Phuc Nguyen Tan Trong Tran Huy Dinh Le Phuong Thuy Nguyen Hien Thao Thi Pham Dien Thanh Nguyen Ngu Huu Nguyen | 2024 | Soil Ecology Letters2024,6,1: | 0 |
