| 1 | Evaluation of self-healing properties of inhibitor loaded nanoclay-based anticorrosive coatings on magnesium alloy AZ91D显示文摘This study emphasizes on the evaluation and comparison of the anticorrosive properties of sol-gel coatings with and without inhibitor loaded nanocontainers.In this case,naturally available clay nanotubes(halloysite)were loaded with cationic corrosion inhibitors Ce 3+/Zr 4+.These nanocontainers were dispersed in hybrid organic-inorganic sol-gel matrix sol.Coating was applied on magnesium alloy AZ91D using the sols containing modified and unmodified nanocontainers employing the dip coating method and cured at 130℃for 1 h in air.Corrosion resistance of coated/uncoated substrates were analyzed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,potentiodynamic polarization and weight loss measurements after exposure to 3.5 wt%NaCl solution for varying time durations between 24 h to 120 h.Self-healing ability of coatings was evaluated by micro-Raman spectroscopy after 120 h exposure to 3.5 wt%NaCl solution.Coatings generated after dispersion of corrosion inhibitor loaded clay in hybrid sol-gel matrix have shown more promising corrosion resistance when compared to just the sol-gel matrix coatings,after prolonged exposure to corrosive environment. | Swapnil H.Adsul K.R.C.Soma Raju B.V.Sarada Shirish H.Sonawane R.Subasri | 2018 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2018,6,3: | 9 |
| 2 | Efficacy of fermented milk and whey proteins in Helicobacter pylori eradication:A review显示文摘Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)eradication is considered a necessary step in the management of peptic ulcer disease,chronic gastritis,gastric adenocarcinoma and mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma.Standard triple therapy eradication regimens are inconvenient and achieve unpredictable and often poor results.Eradication rates are decreasing over time with increase in antibiotic resistance.Fermented milk and several of its component whey proteins have emerged as candidates for complementary therapy.In this context the current review seeks to summarize the current evidence available on their role in H.pylori eradication.Pertinent narrative/systematic reviews,clinical trials and laboratory studies on individual components including fermented milk,yogurt,whey proteins,lactoferrin,α-lactalbumin(α-LA),glycomacropeptide and immunoglobulin were comprehensively searched and retrieved from Medline,Embase,Scopus,Cochrane Controlled Trials Register and abstracts/proceedings of conferences up to May 2013.A preponderance of the evidence available on fermented milk-based probiotic preparations and bovine lactoferrin suggests a beneficial effect in Helicobacter eradication.Evidence forα-LA and immunoglobulins is promising while that for glycomacropeptide is preliminary and requires substantiation.The magnitude of the potential benefit documented so far is small and the precise clinical settings are ill defined.This restricts the potential use of this group as a complementary therapy in a nutraceutical setting hinging on better patient acceptability/compliance.Further work is necessary to identify the optimal substrate,fermentation process,dose and the ideal clinical setting(prevention/treatment,first line therapy/recurrence,symptomatic/asymptomatic,gastritis/ulcer diseases etc.).The potential of this group in high antibiotic resistance or treatment failure settings presents interesting possibilities and deserves further exploration. | Aarti Sachdeva Swapnil Rawat Jitender Nagpal | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,3: | 7 |
| 3 | Design and Implementation of Digital Fractional Order PID Controller Using Optimal Pole-Zero Approximation Method for Magnetic Levitation System显示文摘The aim of this paper is to employ fractional order proportional integral derivative(FO-PID) controller and integer order PID controller to control the position of the levitated object in a magnetic levitation system(MLS), which is inherently nonlinear and unstable system. The proposal is to deploy discrete optimal pole-zero approximation method for realization of digital fractional order controller. An approach of phase shaping by slope cancellation of asymptotic phase plots for zeros and poles within given bandwidth is explored. The controller parameters are tuned using dynamic particle swarm optimization(d PSO)technique. Effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is verified by simulation and experimental results. The performance of realized digital FO-PID controller has been compared with that of the integer order PID controllers. | 4 | Release rate kinetics of corrosion inhibitor loaded halloysite nanotube-based anticorrosion coatings on magnesium alloy AZ91D显示文摘Halloysite nanotubes were used as nanocontainers to hold corrosion inhibitors such as Ce^(3+)-Zr^(4+),2-mercaptobenzothiazole and 8-hydroxyquinoline in their lumen.An acid assisted etching of the nanotubes was carried out with a view to increase the lumen diameter and thereby,increase the amount of loading of the corrosion inhibitor.The morphology of as-received and etched halloysite nanotubes was ob-served using TEM analysis.The loading of corrosion inhibitors was confirmed using SEM-EDS and BET analysis.Polymeric microcapsules were used as capping agents for the ends of the loaded HNTs following which,they were dispersed into a hybrid sol-gel silica matrix.Dip coating method was used to generate coatings on AZ91D substrates followed by heat treatment at 130℃ for 1 h.The release rate kinetics of corrosion inhibitors from as-received and etched nanotubes was investigated in buffer solutions of 3.5 wt%NaCl at different pH.The release mechanism of corrosion inhibitors from the HNT lumen was validated using various semi-empirical models.Coatings were also evaluated for their corrosion protection ability using electrochemical techniques after exposure to 3.5 wt%NaCl solution for 120 h.Coatings generated using Ce^(3+)-Zr^(4+)loaded into as-received halloysite nanotubes have shown more effective corrosion protection when compared to other corrosion inhibitors after 120 h exposure to the corrosive medium. | Swapnil H.Adsul Uday D.Bagale Shirish H.Sonawane R.Subasri | 2021 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,1: | 3 |

| 8 | Lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles: Development & statistical optimization of norfloxacin for topical drug delivery system显示文摘Poly lactic acid is a biodegradable, biocompatible, and non-toxic polymer, widely used in many pharmaceuticalpreparations such as controlled release formulations, parenteral preparations, surgicaltreatment applications, and tissue engineering. In this study, we prepared lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticlesfor topical and site targeting delivery of Norfloxacin by emulsification solvent evaporationmethod (ESE). The design of experiment (DOE) was done by using software to optimize the result, andthen a surface plot was generated to compare with the practical results. The surface morphology, particlesize, zeta potential and composition of the lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles were characterized bySEM, TEM, AFM, and FTIR. The thermal behavior of the lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles was characterizedby DSC and TGA. The prepared lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles of Norfloxacin exhibited anaverage particle size from 178.6 ± 3.7 nm to 220.8 ± 2.3 nm, and showed very narrow distribution withpolydispersity index ranging from 0.206 ± 0.36 to 0.383 ± 0.66. The surface charge on the lipid-polymerhybrid nanoparticles were confirmed by zeta potential, showed the value from t23.4 ± 1.5 mVto t41.5 ± 3.4 mV. An Antimicrobial study was done against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonasaeruginosa, and the lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles showed potential activity against these two.Lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles of Norfloxacin showed the %cumulative drug release of 89.72% in24 h. A stability study of the optimized formulation showed the suitable condition for the storage oflipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticles was at 4 ± 2 C/60 ± 5% RH.
