| 1 | Microwave assisted atmospheric acid leaching of nickel from laterite ore显示文摘The recovery of nickel from laterite ore with sulphuric acid under the effect of microwave irradiation was studied.The experimental results indicated that the extraction rate of nickel was influenced by reaction time,sulphuric acid concentration,and temperature,especially by microwave power.The results obtained from the experiments of orthogonal arrays showed that the optimum conditions of sulphuric acid concentration,reaction time,microwave power,and temperature were 25 vol.%,1.5 h,600 W,and 90°C,respectively.Under the optimal conditions,the nickel recovery could reach approximately 90.8%,which was higher than that obtained by conventional water bath heating.Kinetic experiments showed that the leaching of nickel in a sulphuric acid medium was controlled by chemical reaction occurring on the surface of laterite ore.The apparent activation energy was 38.9 kJ/mol.Microwave heating technology is efficient,clean,and easy to control and facilitate continuous processing of materials. | CHE Xiaokui SU Xiuzhu CHI Ru'an YU Junxia | 2010 | Rare Metals2010,29,3: | 7 |

| 8 | Monitoring and Modeling the Effects of Groundwater Flow on Arsenic Transport in Datong Basin显示文摘Although arsenic-contaminated groundwater in the Datong Basin has been studied for more than 10 years, little has been known about the complex patterns of solute transport in the aquifer systems. Field monitoring and transient 3D unsaturated groundwater flow modeling studies were carried out on the riparian zone of the Sanggan River at the Datong Basin, northern China, to better understand the effects of groundwater flow on As mobilization and transport. The results indicate that irrigation is the primary factor in determining the groundwater flow paths. Irrigation can not only increase groundwater level and reduce horizontal groundwater velocity and thereby accelerate vertical and horizontal groundwater exchange among sand, silt and clay formations, but also change the HSconcentration, redox conditions of the shallow groundwater. Results of net groundwater flux estimation suggest that vertical infiltration is likely the primary control of As transport in the vadose zone, while horizontal water exchange is dominant in controlling As migration within the sand aquifers. Recharge water, including irrigation return water and flushed saltwater, travels downward from the ground surface to the aquifer and then nearly horizontally across the sand aquifer. | 11 | Shape Classification of Cloud Particles Recorded by the 2D-S Imaging Probe Using a Convolutional Neural Network显示文摘The airborne two-dimensional stereo(2D-S) optical array probe has been operating for more than 10 yr, accumulating a large amount of cloud particle image data. However, due to the lack of reliable and unbiased classification tools,our ability to extract meaningful morphological information related to cloud microphysical processes is limited. To solve this issue, we propose a novel classification algorithm for 2D-S cloud particle images based on a convolutional neural network(CNN), named CNN-2DS. A 2D-S cloud particle shape dataset was established by using the 2D-S cloud particle images observed from 13 aircraft detection flights in 6 regions of China(Northeast, Northwest, North,East, Central, and South China). This dataset contains 33,300 cloud particle images with 8 types of cloud particle shape(linear, sphere, dendrite, aggregate, graupel, plate, donut, and irregular). The CNN-2DS model was trained and tested based on the established 2D-S dataset. Experimental results show that the CNN-2DS model can accurately identify cloud particles with an average classification accuracy of 97%. Compared with other common classification models [e.g., Vision Transformer(ViT) and Residual Neural Network(ResNet)], the CNN-2DS model is lightweight(few parameters) and fast in calculations, and has the highest classification accuracy. | 15 | Transcriptome Analysis of Schwann Cells at Various Stages of Myelination Implicates Chromatin Regulator Sin3A in Control of Myelination Identity显示文摘Enhancing remyelination after injury is of utmost importance for optimizing the recovery of nerve function.While the formation of myelin by Schwann cells(SCs)is critical for the function of the peripheral nervous system,the temporal dynamics and regulatory mechanisms that control the progress of the s lineage through myelination require further elucidation.Here,using in vitro co-culture models,gene expression profiling of laser capture-microdissected SCs at various stages of myelination,and multilevel bioinformatic analysis,we demonstrated that SCs exhibit three distinct transcriptional characteristics duringmyelination:the immature,promyelinating,and myelinating states.We showed that suppressor interacting 3a(Sin3A)and 16 other transcription factors and chromatin regulators play important roles in the progress of myelination.Sin3A knockdown in the sciatic nerve or specifically in SCs reduced or delayed the myelination of regenerating axons in a rat crushed sciatic nerve model,while overexpression of Sin3A greatly promoted the remyelination of axons.Further,in vitro experiments revealed that Sin3A silencing inhibited SC migration and differentiation at the promyelination stage and promoted SC proliferation at the immature stage.In addition,SC differentiation and maturation may be regulated by the Sin3A/histone deacetylase2(HDAC2)complex functionally cooperating with Sox10,as demonstrated by rescue assays.Together,these results complement the recent genome and proteome analyses of SCs during peripheral nerve myelin formation.The results also reveal a key role of Sin3A-dependent chromatin organization in promoting myelinogenic programs and SC differentiation to control peripheral myelination and repair.These findings may inform new treatments for enhancing remyelination and nerveregeneration. | Bin Zhang Wenfeng Su Junxia Hu Jinghui Xu Parizat Askar Shuangxi Bao Songlin Zhou Gang Chen Yun Gu | 2022 | Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,7: | 0 |
