| 4 | Effect of low-level laser therapy on tooth-related pain and somatosensory function evoked by orthodontic treatment显示文摘Low-level laser therapy(LLLT) may have an effect on the pain associated with orthodontic treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of LLLT on pain and somatosensory sensitization induced by orthodontic treatment. Forty individuals(12–33 years old; mean ± standard deviations: 20.8 ± 5.9 years) scheduled to receive orthodontic treatment were randomly divided into a laser group(LG) or a placebo group(PG)(1:1). The LG received LLLT(810-nm gallium-aluminium-arsenic diode laser in continuous mode with the power set at 400 mW, 2 J·cm–2) at 0 h, 2 h, 24 h, 4 d, and 7 d after treatment, and the PG received inactive treatment at the same time points. In both groups, the non-treated side served as a control. A numerical rating scale(NRS) of pain, pressure pain thresholds(PPTs), cold detection thresholds(CDTs), warmth detection thresholds(WDTs), cold pain thresholds(CPTs), and heat pain thresholds(HPTs) were tested on both sides at the gingiva and canine tooth and on the hand. The data were analysed by a repeated measures analysis of variance(ANOVA). The NRS pain scores were significantly lower in the LG group(P = 0.01). The CDTs,CPTs, WDTs, HPTs, and PPTs at the gingiva and the PPTs at the canine tooth were significantly less sensitive on the treatment side of the LG compared with that of the PG(P < 0.033). The parameters tested also showed significantly less sensitivity on the nontreatment side of the LG compared to that of the PG(P < 0.043). There were no differences between the groups for any quantitative sensory testing(QST) measures of the hand. The application of LLLT appears to reduce the pain and sensitivity of the tooth and gingiva associated with orthodontic treatment and may have contralateral effects within the trigeminal system but no generalized QST effects. | 5 | Effects of Carbon Content and Solidification Rate on the Thermal Conductivity of Grey Cast Iron显示文摘The thermal conductivity/diffusivity of pearlitic grey irons with various carbon contents was investi- gated by the laser flash method. The materials were cast in controlled thermal environments producing three dissimilar cooling rates. The cooling rates together with the carbon content largely influence the thermal conductivity of grey iron. Linear relationships exist between the thermal conductivity and the carbon content, the carbon equivalent, and the fraction of the former primary solidified austenite transformed into pearlite. The results show that the optimal thermal transport properties are obtained at medium cooling rates. Equa- tions are given for the thermal conductivity of pearlite, solidified as pre-eutectic austenite, and the eutectic of grey iron. | 6 | Multicell power allocation method based on game theory for inter-cell interference coordination显示文摘As a new technology, coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmission is included in LTE-Advanced study item. Moreover, the network architecture in LTE-Advanced system is modified to take into account coordinated transmission. Under this background, a novel power allocation game model is established to mitigate inter-cell interference with cellular coordination. In the light of cellular cooperation relationship and centralized control in eNodeB, the power allocation in each served antenna unit aims to make signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) balanced among inter-cells. Through the proposed power allocation game algorithm, the users' SINR can reach the Nash equilibrium, making it feasible to reduce the co-frequency interference by decreasing the transmitted power. Numerical results show that the proposed power allocation algorithm improves the throughput both in cell-center and cell-edge. | 7 | Resource pooling for frameless network architecture with adaptive resource allocation显示文摘The system capacity for future mobile communication needs to be increased to fulfill the emerging requirements of mobile services and innumerable applications. The cellular topology has for long been regarded as the most promising way to provide the required increase in capacity. However with the emerging densification of cell deployments, the traditional cellular structure limits the efficiency of the resource, and the coordination between different types of base stations is more complicated and entails heavy cost. Consequently, this study proposes frameless network architecture (FNA) to release the cell boundaries, enabling the topology needed to implement the FNA resource allocation strategy. This strategy is based on resource pooling incorporating a new resource dimension-antenna/antenna array. Within this architecture, an adaptive resource allocation method based on genetic algorithm is proposed to find the optimal solution for the multi-dimensional resource allocation problem. Maximum throughput and proportional fair resource allocation criteria are considered. | 9 | Utility-based bandwidth allocation algorithm for heterogeneous wireless networks显示文摘In next generation wireless network (NGWN), mobile users are capable of connecting to the core network through various heterogeneous wireless access networks, such as cellular network, wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN), wireless local area network (WLAN), and ad hoc network. NGWN is expected to provide high-bandwidth connectivity with guaranteed quality-of-service to mobile users in a seamless manner; however, this desired function demands seamless coordination of the heterogeneous radio access network (RAN) technologies. In recent years, some researches have been conducted to design radio resource management (RRM) architectures and algorithms for NGWN; however, few studies stress the problem of joint network performance optimization, which is an essential goal for a cooperative service providing scenario. Furthermore, while some authors consider the competition among the service providers, the QoS requirements of users and the resource competition within access networks are not fully considered. In this paper, we present an interworking integrated network architecture, which is responsible for monitoring the status information of different radio access technologies (RATs) and executing the resource allocation algorithm. Within this architecture, the problem of joint bandwidth allocation for heterogeneous integrated networks is formulated based on utility function theory and bankruptcy game theory. The proposed bandwidth allocation scheme comprises two successive stages, i.e., service bandwidth allocation and user bandwidth allocation. At the service bandwidth allocation stage, the optimal amount of bandwidth for different types of services in each network is allocated based on the criterion of joint utility maximization. At the user bandwidth allocation stage, the service bandwidth in each network is optimally allocated among users in the network according to bankruptcy game theory. | 10 | Short-term effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on sleep bruxism-a pilot study显示文摘The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(r TMS)on patients with sleep bruxism(SB).Twelve patients with SB were included in an open,single-intervention pilot study.r TMS at 1 Hz and an intensity of80%of the active motor threshold was applied to the‘hot spot’of the masseter muscle representation at the primary motor cortex bilaterally for 20 min per side each day for 5 consecutive days.The jaw-closing muscle electromyographic(EMG)activity during sleep was recorded with a portable EMG recorder at baseline,during r TMS treatment and at follow-up for 5 days.In addition,patients scored their jaw-closing muscle soreness on a 0–10 numerical rating scale(NRS).Data were analysed with analysis of variance.The intensity of the EMG activity was suppressed during and after r TMS compared to the baseline(P 5 0.04;P 5 0.02,respectively).The NRS score of soreness decreased significantly during and after r TMS compared with baseline(P,0.01).These findings indicated a significant inhibition of jaw-closing muscle activity during sleep along with a decrease of muscle soreness.This pilot study raises the possibility of therapeutic benefits from r TMS in patients with bruxism and calls for further and more controlled studies. | Wei-Na Zhou Hai-Yang Fu Yi-Fei Du Jian-Hua Sun Jing-Lu Zhang Chen Wang Peter Svensson Ke-Lun Wang | 2016 | International Journal of Oral Science2016,8,1: | 4 |
