1Combined bone marrow stromal cells and oxiracetam treatments ameliorates acute cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury through TRPC6显示文摘Ischemic stroke has become one of the leading causes of deaths and disabilities all over the world.In this study,we investigated the therapeutic effects of combined bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs)and oxiracetam treatments on acute cerebral ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury.A rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)followed by complete reperfusion,as well as a cortex neuron oxygen-glucose deprivation(OGD)model was established.When compared with BMSCs or oxiracetam monotherapy,combination therapy significantly improved functional restoration with decreased infarct volume in observed ischemic brain.We propose that it may occur through the transient receptor potential canonical(TRPC)6 neuron survival pathway.The increased expression of TRPC6 along with the reduction of neuronal cell death in the OGD cortex neurons and combination therapy group indicated that the TRPC6 neuron survival pathway plays an important role in the combined BMSCs and oxiracetam treatments.We further tested the activity of the calpain proteolytic system,and the results suggested that oxiracetam could protect the integrity of TRPC6 neuron survival pathway by inhibiting TRPC6 degradation.The protein levels of phospho-cAMP response element binding protein(p-CREB)were tested.It was found that BMSCs play a role in the activation of the TRPC6 pathway.Our study suggests that the TRPC6 neuron survival pathway plays a significant role in the protective effect of combined BMSCs and oxiracetam treatments on acute cerebral I/R injury.Combined therapy could inhibit the abnormal degradation of TRPC6 via decreasing the activity of calpain and increasing the activation of TRPC6 neuron survival pathway.Jing Wang Ruohan Sun Zhenzhu Li Yujun Pan 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,8:17
2Correlation between lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms and quality of life in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To explore correlations between the symptoms of constipation and abdominal distention and severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)in patients with stable disease.METHODS:We studied 191 patients with stable COPD(according to defined criteria)in this cross-sectional study from four three-level class A Chinese medicine hospitals in China.We built an Epidata 3.0 database and performed statistical analysis with SPSS,version 17.0.We analyzed correlations between the frequency of lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms(constipation and abdominal distention)and scores for major pulmonary symptoms(cough,sputum and wheezing)based on the St.George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ),6-minute walking distance(6MWD)and frequency of acute exacerbations of COPD(AECOPD).RESULTS:In addition to their pulmonary symptoms,39.79%and 40.31%of study patients withstable COPD reported constipation and abdominal distention,respectively.Scores for major pulmonary symptoms(cough,sputum and wheezing),AECOPD and SGRQ values in patients with constipation and abdominal distention were significantly greater,and the 6MWD markedly shorter,than in those without them.According to Pearson's correlation analysis,there were strong correlations between these lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms and scores for pulmonary symptoms,SGRQ,6MWD and AECOPD.CONCLUSION:Lower gastrointestinal tract symptoms such as constipation and abdominal distention can adversely affect pulmonary symptoms,frequency of acute exacerbations and quality of life in patients with stable COPD.Yan Sun Fengjie Zheng Yuhang Li Ruohan Wu Yuchao Liu Miao Liu Jinchao Zhang Kuo Gao 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,5:10
3In situ sulfur-doped graphene nanofiber network as efficient metal-free electrocatalyst for polysulfides redox reactions in lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘The major challenge for realistic application of Li-S batteries lies in the great difficulty in breaking through the obstacles of the sluggish kinetics and polysulfides shuttle of the sulfur cathode at high sulfur loading for continuously high sulfur utilization during prolonged charge-discharge cycles.Here we demonstrate that large percentage of sulfur can be effectively incorporated within a three-dimensional(3D)nanofiber network of high quality graphene from chemical vapor deposition(CVD),through a simple ball-milling process.While high quality graphene network provided continuous and durable channels to enable efficient transport of lithium ions and electrons,the in-situ sulfur doping from the alloying effect of ball milling facilitated desirable affinity with entire sulfur species to prevent sulfur loss and highly active sites to propel sulfur redox reactions over cycling.This resulted in remarkable rate-performance and excellent cycling stability,together with large areal capacity at very high sulfur mass loading(Specific capacity over 666 mAh g-1after 300 cycles at 0.5 C,and areal capacity above 5.2 mAh cm-2at 0.2C at sulfur loading of 8.0 mg cm-2 and electrolyte/sulfur(E/S)ratio of 8μL mg-1;and high reversible areal capacities of 13.1 m Ah cm-2 at a sulfur load of 15 mg cm-2 and E/S of 5μL mg-1).Shijie Zhang Peng Zhang Ruohan Hou Bin Li Yongshang Zhang Kangli Liu Xilai Zhang Guosheng Shao 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,8:4
4Low-strain TiP_(2)O_(7) withthree-dimensionalionchannelsas long-life and high-rate anode material for Mg-ion batteries显示文摘Rechargeable magnesium batteries are identified as a promising next-generation energy storage system,but their development is hindered by the anode−electrolyte−cathode incompatibilities and passivation of magnesium metal anode.To avoid or alleviate these problems,the exploitation of alternative anode materials is a promising choice.Herein,we present titanium pyrophosphate(TiP_(2)O_(7))as anode materials for magnesium-ion batteries(MIBs)and investigate the effect of the crystal phase on its magnesium storage performance.Compared with the me-tastable layered TiP_(2)O_(7),the thermodynamically stable cubic TiP_(2)O_(7) displays a better rate capability of 72 mAh g^(−1) at 5000 mA g^(−1).Moreover,cubic TiP_(2)O_(7) exhibits excellent cycling stability with the capacity of 60 mAh g^(−1) after 5000 cycles at 1000 mA g^(−1),which are better than pre-viously reported Ti-based anode materials for MIBs.In situ X-ray diffraction technology confirms the single-phase magnesiumion inter-calation/deintercalation reaction mechanism of cubic TiP_(2)O_(7) with a low volume change of 3.2%.In addition,the density functional theory calcu-lation results demonstrate that three-dimensional magnesiumion diffu-sion can be allowed in cubic TiP_(2)O_(7) with a low migration energy barrier of 0.62 eV.Our work demonstrates the promise of TiP_(2)O_(7) as high-rate and long-life anode materials for MIBs and may pave the way for further development of MIBs.Fangyu Xiong Yalong Jiang Li Cheng Ruohan Yu Shuangshuang Tan Chen Tang Chunli Zuo Qinyou An Yunlong Zhao Jean-Jacques Gaumet Liqiang Mai 2022Interdisciplinary Materials2022,1,1:3
5Low-Complexity Signal Detection Based on Relaxation Iteration Method in Massive MIMO Systems显示文摘Minimum mean square error(MMSE) detection algorithm can achieve nearly optimal performance when the number of antennas at the base station(BS) is large enough compared to the number of users. But the traditional MMSE involves complicated matrix inversion. In this paper, we propose a modified MMSE algorithm which exploits the channel characteristics occurring in massive multiple-input multipleoutput(MIMO) channels and the relaxation iteration(RI) method to avoid the matrix inversion. A proper initial solution is given to accelerate the convergence speed. In addition, we point out that the channel estimation scheme used in channel hardening-exploiting message passing(CHEMP) receiver is very appropriate for our proposed detection algorithm. 7A fluorescent probe operating under weak acidic conditions for the visualization of HOCl in solid tumors in vivo显示文摘Levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in cancer cells or in the tumor microenvironment differ noticeably from those in normal cells and cellular microenvironments because ROS play important roles in all aspects of tumor physiology.However,due to the lack of adequate tools,it is difficult to study the relationship between ROS,especially certain types of ROS(e.g.,HOCl),and cancer.We report herein an HOCl-specific fluorescent probe,FDOCl-20,containing a thiocarbamide group as a receptor,for the visualization of HOCl in solid tumors in vivo.This probe displays high selectivity and sensitivity to HOCl,and is appropriate for use in acidic conditions,including the tumor microenvironment.Using FDOCl-20 as a tool,we can visualize HOCl in solid tumors in vivo.Importantly,the fluorescent intensity of FDOCl-20 is proportional to tumor volume.Thus,FDOCl-20 is a useful tool to investigate the relationship between HOCl and the physiological processes of tumors.Peng Wei Lingyan Liu Wei Yuan Jiajia Yang Ruohan Li Tao Yi 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,8:2
8Sugarcane bagasse dietary fiber as an adjuvant therapy for stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease:a four-center,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled study显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of sugarcane bagasse dietary fiber as an adjuvant therapy for improving quality of life in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS:This was a multicenter,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial.A total of196 participants were randomized into a trial group(treated with 6 g/day sugarcane bagasse plus conventional treatment,n = 98) and a control group(treated with placebo plus conventional treatment,n = 98).All efficacy analyses were performed according to the intention-to-treat(ITT) principle.A per-protocol analysis set(PPS) was used to analyze the cases that completed the clinical trial with good compliance.The trial period was 30 days,with a 6-month follow-up.Pre-and post-treatmentpulmonary symptom scores(cough,sputum,wheezing,and dyspnea) were recorded for both groups.The St.George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ) and the modified Medical Research Council(m MRC) dyspnea scale were assessed before treatment and at the end of the 6-month follow-up.RESULTS:The ITT population was 178 and the PPS population was 166.Post-treatment pulmonary clinical symptoms and severity of dyspnea(m MRC and SGRQ evaluation) were significantly improved in both the trial group and the control group(ITT and PPS:P < 0.05).However,there was no statistical difference between the two groups in post-treatment pulmonary symptoms and m MRC.There was a greater reduction in the SGRQ subscales of activity,effect and total score in the trial group compared with the control group(ITT and PPS:P < 0.01).There was no statistical difference in pre-and post-treatment safety variables in either group.CONCLUSION:Sugarcane bagasse combined with conventional treatment improved quality of life in patients with stable COPD.Sugarcane bagasse appears to be a safe herbal medicine with potential for treating patients with stable COPD when taken orally as an adjuvant therapy.Liu Miao Zheng Fengjie Ni Lei Sun Yan Wu Ruohan Zhang Tianyu Zhang Jinchao Zhong Xianggen Li Yuhang 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,4:2
9Diagnosis of sewer pipe defects on image recognition of multi-features and support vector machine in a southern Chinese city显示文摘Closed circuit television(CCTV)systems are widely used to inspect sewer pipe conditions.During the diagnosis process,the manual diagnosis of defects is time consuming,labor intensive and error prone.To assist inspectors in diagnosing sewer pipe defects on CCTV inspection images,this paper presents an image recognition algorithm that applies features extraction and machine learning approaches.An algorithm of image recognition techniques,including Hu invariant moment,texture features,lateral Fourier transform and Daubechies(DBn)wavelet transform,was used to describe the features of defects,and support vector machines were used to classify sewer pipe defects.According to the inspection results,seven defects were defined;the diagnostic system was applied to a sewer pipe system in a southern city of China,and 28,760 m of sewer pipes were inspected.The results revealed that the classification accuracies of the different defects ranged from 51.6% to 99.3%.The overall accuracy reached 84.1%.The diagnosing accuracy depended on the number of the training samples,and four fitting curves were applied to fit the data.According to this paper,the logarithmic fitting curve presents the highest coefficient of determination of 0.882,and more than 200 images need to be used for training samples to guarantee the accuracy higher than 85%.Xiangyang Ye Jian’e Zuo Ruohan Li Yajiao Wang Lili Gan Zhonghan Yu Xiaoqing Hu 2019Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,2:1
10A multicenter randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of rhubarb in treating acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease of the syndrome type phlegm-heat obstructing the lungs显示文摘Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of oral administration of the traditional Chinese herb rhubarb to treat acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Method:This was a multicenter randomized double-blinded placebo controlled study that took place in 7 provinces of China that enrolled 244 patients(aged 18e80 years)who had acute exacerbation of COPD with the traditional Chinese syndrome pattern of phlegm-heat obstructing lung.Participants were divided into experimental and control groups.The experimental group received 4.5 g of rhubarb granules twice daily and the control group received placebo granules.Both groups also received conventional Western therapy consisting of oxygen therapy,an antibiotic,expectorant,and a bronchodilator.Treatment lasted 10 days.Symptom scores for cough,sputum volume and color,wheezing and chest tightness before treatment and on days 3,5,7,and 10 during the treatment were recorded.Lung function,arterial blood gas and levels of serum inflammatory factors,interleukin-4(IL-4),interleukin-8(IL-8),and interleukin-10(IL-10)and tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-a),before and after treatment were measured.Results:The sample size of the full analysis set(FAS)was 244 participants,and the sample size of per protocol set(PPS)was 235.Following 10 days’treatment,symptom scores of the experimental group were markedly lower than those of the placebo group(FAS:mean difference1.67,95%CI:e2.66 to0.69,P Z 0.001;PPS:mean difference1.55,95%CI:2.56 to0.54,P Z 0.003).Lung function in the experimental group was significantly higher than in the placebo group(FEV1,FAS:mean difference 0.12,95%CI:0.06 to 0.18;P<0.001;PPS:mean difference 0.12,95%CI 0.05 to 0.18;P<0.001.FVC:FAS:mean difference 0.16,95%CI:0.06 to 0.26;P Z 0.002;PPS:mean difference 0.16,95%CI 0.05 to 0.26;P Z 0.003.FEV1%,FAS:mean difference 5.95,95%CI:3.36 to 8.53;P<0.001;PPS:mean difference 5.92,95%CI 3.28 to 8.56;P<0.001.).PaO2,PaCO2,as well as serum inflammatory factors were also improved when compared to the placebo group.There were no significant differences in the incidence rate of adverse reaction between the two groups.Conclusions:Compared with placebo,rhubarb granules significantly reduced symptom scores,improved blood oxygen level,controlled systemic inflammatory response,without significant adverse effects.Thus,rhubarb may be a beneficial adjuvant method for treating the phlegm-heat obstructing the lung syndrome pattern of AECOPD.Fengjie Zheng Yan Sun Xianggen Zhong Yueqi Wang Ruohan Wu Miao Liu Yuchao Liu Kuo Gao Yuhang Li 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2016,3,2:1
11Research on neck dissection for oral squamous-cell carcinoma:a bibliometric analysis显示文摘Neck dissection for oral squamous-cell carcinoma(OSCC)is a clinically controversial issue and has therefore been the subject of abundant research.However,no one has performed a bibliometric study on this topic to date.The aim of this study was to assess the development of research on neck dissection for OSCC in terms of the historical evolution,current hotspots and future directions,particularly including research trends and frontiers from 2010 to 2019.Literature records related to research on neck dissection for OSCC were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection(WoSCC).CiteSpace was used as a tool to perform a bibliometric analysis of this topic.The survey included 2096 papers.“Otorhinolaryngology”was the most popular research area.The most active institutions and countries were Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the USA,respectively.Shah J.P.was the most cited author.Among the six identified“core journals”,Head&Neck ranked first.The top three trending keywords were‘invasion’,‘upper aerodigestive’and‘negative neck’.‘D’Cruz AK(2015)’was the most cited and the strongest burst reference in the last decade.The study evaluated the effect on survival of elective versus therapeutic neck dissection in patients with lateralized early-stage OSCC.The depth of invasion and the management of N0 OSCC were research frontiers in this field.The present study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of research on neck dissection for OSCC,which will assist investigators in exploring potential research directions.Zhou Jiang Chenzhou Wu Shoushan Hu Nailin Liao Yingzhao Huang Haoran Ding Ruohan Li Yi Li 2021International Journal of Oral Science2021,13,2:1
12Health benefits from the rapid reduction in ambient exposure to air pollutants after China’s clean air actions:progress in efficacy and geographic equality显示文摘Clean air actions(CAAs)in China have been linked to considerable benefits in public health.However,whether the beneficial effects of CAAs are equally distributed geographically is unknown.Using high-resolution maps of the distributions of major air pollutants(fine particulate matter[PM_(2.5)]and ozone[O_(3)])and population,we aimed to track spatiotemporal changes in health impacts from,and geographic inequality embedded in,the reduced exposures to PM_(2.5)and O_(3)from 2013 to 2020.We used a method established by the Global Burden of Diseases Study.By analyzing the changes in loss of life expectancy(LLE)attributable to PM_(2.5)and O_(3),we calculated the gain of life expectancy(GLE)to quantify the health benefits of the air-quality improvement.Finally,we assessed the geographic inequality embedded in the GLE using the Gini index(GI).Based on risk assessments of PM_(2.5)and O_(3),during the first stage of CAAs(2013 to 2017),the mean GLE was 1.87 months.Half of the sum of the GLE was disproportionally distributed in about one quarter of the population exposed(GI 0.44).During the second stage of CAAs(2017 to 2020),the mean GLE increased to 3.94 months and geographic inequality decreased(GI 0.18).According to our assessments,CAAs were enhanced,from the first to second stages,in terms of not only preventing premature mortality but also ameliorating health inequalities.The enhancements were related to increased sensitivity to the health effects of air pollution and synergic control of PM_(2.5)and O_(3)levels.Our findings will contribute to optimizing future CAAs.Tao Xue Ruohan Wang Meng Wang Yanying Wang Dan Tong Xia Meng Conghong Huang Siqi Ai Fangzhou Li Jingyuan Cao Mingkun Tong Xueqiu Ni Hengyi Liu Jianyu Deng Hong Lu Wei Wan Jicheng Gong Shiqiu Zhang Tong Zhu 2024National Science Review2024,11,2:0
13Characteristics and Cause Analysis of Variations in Light Precipitation Events in the Central and Eastern Tibetan Plateau,China,During 1961–2019显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau(TP)is one of the most sensitive areas and is more susceptible to climate change than other regions in China.The TP also experiences extremely frequent light precipitation events compared to precipitation of other intensities.However,the definition,influencing factors,and characteristics of light precipitation in the TP have not been accurately explained.This study investigated the variation characteristics of light precipitation with intensities(Pre)of 0.1-10.0 mm/d based on climate data from 53 meteorological stations over the central and eastern TP from 1961 to 2019.For detailed analysis,light precipitation events were classified into five grades:G1[0.1-2.0 mm/d),G2[2.0-4.0 mm/d),G3[4.0-6.0 mm/d),G4[6.0-8.0 mm/d),and G5[8.0-10.0 mm/d).The results showed that both the amount of precipitation and number of precipitation days had increased significantly at rates of 4.0-6.0 mm/10 yr and 2.0-4.0 d/10 yr,respectively,and most precipitation events were of low intensity(0.1≤Pre<2.0 mm/d).Light precipitation events mainly occurred in the southeast of the study area,and it showed an increasing trend from the northwest to the southeast.Abrupt changes in light precipitation primarily occurred in the 1980 s.A comprehensive time series analysis using the Mann-Kendall test and Morlet wavelet was performed to characterize the abrupt changes and cycles of light precipitation.During the study period,the main periods of light precipitation corresponded to the 6 yr cycle,with obvious periodic oscillation characteristics,and this cycle coexisted with cycles of other scales.Significant correlations were observed between the amount of light precipitation and temperature over the study area.The findings will enhance our understanding of changes in light precipitation in the TP and provide Scientific basis for the definition of light precipitation in the future.LI Kaifang CAO Liguo ZHOU Zhengchao JIAO Lei WANG Ning LIU Ruohan 2022Chinese Geographical Science2022,32,1:0
14The appearance of cytoplasmic cytochrome C precedes apoptosis during Drosophila salivary gland degradation显示文摘Apoptosis is an important process for organism development that functions to eliminate cell damage,maintain homeostasis,and remove obsolete tissues during morphogenesis.In mammals,apoptosis is accompanied by the release of cytochrome C(Cyt-c)from mitochondria to the cytoplasm.However,whether this process is conserved in the fruit fly,Drosophila melanogaster,remains controversial.In this study,we discovered that during the degradation of Drosophila salivary gland,the transcription of mitochondria apoptosis factors(MAPFs),Cyt-c,and death-associated APAF1-related killer(Dark)encoding genes are all upregulated antecedent to initiator and effector caspases encoding genes.The proteins Cyt-c and the active caspase 3 appear gradually in the cytoplasm during salivary gland degradation.Meanwhile,the Cyt-c protein colocates with mito-GFP,the marker indicating cytoplasmic mitochondria,and the change in mitochondrial membrane potential coincides with the appearance of Cyt-c in the cytoplasm.Moreover,impeding or promoting 20E-induced transcription factor E93 suppresses or enhances the staining of Cyt-c and the active caspase 3 in the cytoplasm of salivary gland,and accordingly decreases or increases the mitochondrial membrane potential,respectively.Our research provides evidence that cytoplasmic Cyt-c appears before apoptosis during Drosophila salivary gland degradation,shedding light on partial conserved mechanism in apoptosis between insects and mammals.Shihui Long Wenxin Cao Yongyu Qiu Ruohan Deng Jiali Liu Lidan Zhang Renke Dong Fengxin Liu Sheng Li Haigang Zhao Na Li Kang Li 2024Insect Science2024,31,1:0
15Transformation of Undesired Li_(2)CO_(3)into Lithiophilic Layer Via Double Replacement Reaction for Garnet Electrolyte Engineering显示文摘Garnet-type solid-state electrolytes(SSEs)are a remarkable Li-ion electrolyte for the realization of next-generation all-solid-state lithium batteries due to their excellent stability against Li metal as well as high ionic conductivities at room temperature.However,garnet electrolytes always contain undesired and hardly removable Li_(2)CO_(3) contaminations that have persistently large resistance and unstable interface contact with Li metal.This is a critical bottleneck for the practical application of garnet electrolytes.Here,we design a novel strategy to completely root out Li_(2)CO_(3) both inside and on the surface of garnet.This is achieved by a so-called double replacement reaction between Li_(2)CO_(3) and SiO_(2) during one-step hot press process for garnet electrolyte densification.It leads to in-situ transformation of LixSiOy(LSO)mostly locating around the grain boundaries of garnet.Due to the higher ion conductivity and better electrochemistry stability of LSO than Li_(2)CO_(3),the modified garnet electrolyte shows much improved electrochemical performance.Moreover,the wettability between modified garnet electrolyte and lithium metals was significantly enhanced in the absence of surface Li_(2)CO_(3).As a proof of concept,an assembled Li symmetric cell with modified garnet electrolyte displays a high critical current density(CCD)of 0.7 mA cm^(-2)and a low interfacial impedance(5Ωcm^(2))at 25℃.These results indicate that the upcycling of Li_(2)CO_(3)is a promising strategy to well-address the degradation and interfacial issue associated with garnet electrolytes.Jiaxu Zhang Ruohan Yu Jun Li Huiyu Zhai Gangjian Tan Xinfeng Tang 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,3:0
16IL-21 regulates macrophage activation in human monocytic THP-1-derived macrophages显示文摘Background:Interleukin-21(IL-21)has a regulatory effect on various immune cells.Its effect on macrophage function remains unclear.Aims:This study aimed to investigate the effect of IL-21 on the macrophagesmediated inflammatory response and explore its mechanism.Materials&Methods:Phorbol myristate acetate was used to induce THP-1-derived macrophages.Then,cells were stimulated with IL-21 and/or lipopolysaccharide(LPS).To determine the effect of IL-21 on the production of inflammatory factors in THP-1-derived macrophages,the messenger RNA(mRNA)and protein levels of IL-6,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-8,and IL-10 were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),respectively.Meanwhile,to explore the effect of IL-21 on macrophage polarization,macrophage phenotype,gene expression,and cytokine secretion mediated by THP-1-derived macrophage were detected by flow cytometry,RT-PCR,and ELISA.Results:First,we found that the IL-21 receptor was expressed in THP-1-derived macrophages.IL-21 enhanced LPS-mediated TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-10 production in THP-1-derived macrophages.During the polarization of THP-1-derived macrophages to M1-like macrophages,IL-21 induced the expression of macrophage surface markers CD86 and CD80,and related genes,such as TNF-α,IL-6,IL-1β,and DC-SIGN mRNA,inhibited Dectin-1 mRNA expression and promoted the secretion of TNF-α.During the polarization of THP-1-derived macrophages to M2-like macrophages,IL-21 enhanced the expression of macrophage surface markers CD86 and CD163,and related genes,such as TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-10,Dectin-1,and DC-SIGN mRNA,and promoted the secretion of IL-10.Conclusion:IL-21 promotes LPS-mediated production of inflammatory cytokines by THP-1-derived macrophages;IL-21 plays a two-way regulatory role in THP-1-derived macrophage polarization.Leilei Jian Changhong Li Lin Sun Zhenzhen Ma Xinyu Wang Ruohan Yu Xiangyuan Liu Jinxia Zhao 2021Rheumatology & Autoimmunity2021,1,1:0
17Ultrathin Metal Silicate Hydroxide Nanosheets with Moderate Metal-Oxygen Covalency Enables Efficient Oxygen Evolution显示文摘Exploring efficient,cost-effective,and durable electrocatalysts for electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is pivotal for the large-scale application of water electrolysis.Recent advance has demonstrated that the activity of electrocatalysts exhibits a strong dependence on the surface electronic structure.Herein,a series of ultrathin metal silicate hydroxide nanosheets(UMSHNs)M_(3)Si_(2)O_(5)(OH)_(4)(M=Fe,Co,and Ni)synthesized without surfactant are introduced as highly active OER electrocatalysts.Cobalt silicate hydroxide nanosheets show an optimal OER activity with overpotentials of 287 and 358 m V at 1 and 10 m A cm^(-2),respectively.Combining experimental and theoretical studies,it is found that the OER activity of UMSHNs is dominated by the metal-oxygen covalency(MOC).High OER activity can be achieved by having a moderate MOC as reflected by aσ^(*)-orbital(e_(g))filling near unity and moderate[3d]/[2p]ratio.Moreover,the UMSHNs exhibit favorable chemical stability under oxidation potential.This contribution provides a scientific guidance for further development of active metal silicate hydroxide catalysts.Jiexin Zhu Shikun Li Zechao Zhuang Shan Gao Xufeng Hong Xuelei Pan Ruohan Yu Liang Zhou Lyudmila V.Moskaleva Liqiang Mai 2022Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,1:0

19Realizing Plain Optimization of the Thermoelectric Properties in BiCuSeO Oxide via Self-Substitution-Induced Lattice Dislocations显示文摘Seeking new strategies to tune the intrinsic defect and optimize the thermoelectric performance via no or less use of external doped elements(i.e.,plain optimization)is an important method to realize the sustainable development of thermoelectric materials.Meanwhile,creating dislocation defects in oxide systems is quite challenging because the rigid and stiff ionic/covalent bonds can hardly tolerate the large strain energy associated with dislocations.Herein,taking BiCuSe_(O) oxide as an example,the present work reports a successful construction of dense lattice dislocations in BiCuSe_(O) by self-doping of Se at the O site(i.e.,Se_(O) self-substitution),and achieves plain optimization of the thermoelectric properties with only external Pb doping.Owing to the self-substitution-induced large lattice distortion and the potential reinforcement effect by Pb doping,high-density(about 3.0×10^(14 )m^(−2))dislocations form in the grains,which enhances the scattering strength of mid-frequency phonon and results in a substantial low lattice thermal conductivity of 0.38 W m^(−1) K^(−1) at 823 K in Pb-doped BiCuSe_(O).Meanwhile,PbBi doping and Cu vacancy markedly improve the electrical conductivity while maintaining a competitively high Seebeck coefficient,thereby contributing to a highest power factor of 942μW m^(−1) K^(−2).Finally,a remarkably enhanced zT value of 1.32 is obtained at 823 K in Bi_(0.94)Pb_(0.06)Cu_(0.97)Se_(1.05)O_(0.95) with almost compositional plainification.The high-density dislocation structure reported in this work will also provide a good inspiration for the design and construction of dislocations in other oxide systems.Rui Xu Zhiwei Chen Qizhu Li Xiaoyu Yang Han Wan Mengruizhe Kong Wei Bai Nengyuan Zhu Ruohan Wang Jiming Song Zhou Li Chong Xiao Binghui Ge 2023Research2023,,4:0
20SRSFs mediate the function of AR in the ovarian granulosa cells of patients with PCOS显示文摘Ovarian hyperandrogenism is one of the characteristics of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)and androgen receptor(AR)in ovarian granulosa cells(GCs)functions as an important element to the accumulation of androgens.This study verified the existence of alternative splicing variant of AR(AR-SVs)in the GCs of PCOS patients and found that the function of AR decreased significantly in the presence of AR-SVs.And compared to the normal individuals,the expression of Serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 2(SRSF2)was higher and the expression of SRSF3 was lower in the GCs of patients with AR-SVs.More importantly,we found that the expression of SRSF2 was inhibited and that the expression of AR was decreased after the successful upregulation of miRNA-183,and testostrone(T)concentrations in the culture medium were increased.The results also showed that the expression of SRSF3 decreased when miRNA-124 was successfully upregulated,while the expression of AR significantly increased;however,the function of AR was also inhibited when T concentration in the culture medium was increased.This study has proved that SRSFs are regulated by corresponding miRNAs,and the altered expression of SRSFs interferenced the alternative splicing process of AR and ultimately decreased the function of AR,leading to the accumulation of androgens in the ovary.Jing Luo Hong Ye Lijuan Hao Yixuan Sun Ruohan Li Yanxi Li Zhu Yang 2021Genes & Diseases2021,8,1:0
