2Mechanistic and therapeutic advances in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by targeting the gut microbiota显示文摘Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)is one of the most common metabolic diseases currently in the context of obesity worldwide,which contains a spectrum of chronic liver diseases,including hepatic steatosis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and hepatic carcinoma.In addition to the classical 'Two-hit'theory,NAFLD has been recognized as a typical gut microbiota-related disease because of the intricate role of gut microbiota in maintaining human health and disease formation.Moreover,gut microbiota is even regarded as a 'metabolic organ'that play complementary roles to that of liver in many aspects.The mechanisms underlying gut microbiota-mediated development of NAFLD include modulation of host energy metabolism,insulin sensitivity, and bile acid and choline metabolism.As a result,gut microbiota have been emerging as a novel therapeutic target for NAFLD by manipulating it in various ways,including probiotics,prebiotics,synbiotics,antibiotics,fecal microbiota transplantation,and herbal components.In this review,we summarized the most recent advances in gut microbiota-mediated mechanisms,as well as gut microbiota-targeted therapies on NAFLD.Ruiting Han Junli Ma Houkai Li 2018Frontiers of Medicine2018,12,6:11
3Scutellaria baicalensis stem-leaf total flavonoid reduces neuronal apoptosis induced by amyloid beta-peptide (25-35)显示文摘Scutellaria baicalensis stem-leaf total flavonoid might attenuate learning/memory impairment and neuronal loss in rats induced by amyloid beta-peptide. This study aimed to explore the effects of Scutellaria baicalensis stem-leaf total flavonoid on amyloid beta-peptide-induced neuronal apoptosis and the expression of apoptosis-related proteins in the rat hippocampus. Male Wistar rats were given intragastric administration of Scutellaria baicalensis stem-leaf total flavonoid, 50 or 100 mg/kg, once per day. On day 8 after administration, 10 μg amyloid beta-peptide (25-35) was injected into the bilateral hippocampus of rats to induce neuronal apoptosis. On day 20, hippocampal tissue was harvested and probed with the terminal deoxyribonucleotidyl transferase-mediated biotin-16-dUTP nick-end labeling assay. Scutellaria baicalensis stem-leaf total flavonoid at 50 and 100 mg/kg reduced neuronal apoptosis induced by amyloid beta-peptide (25-35 in the rat hippocampus. Immunohistochemistry and western blot assay revealed that expression of the pro-apoptotic protein Bax, cytochrome c and caspase-3 was significantly diminished by 50 and 100 mg/kg Scutellaria baicalensis stem-leaf total flavonoid, while expression of the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 was increased. Moreover, 100 mg/kg Scutellaria baicalensis stem-leaf total flavonoid had a more dramatic effect than the lower dosage. 5Engineering Mesoporous Structure in Amorphous Carbon Boosts Potassium Storage with High Initial Coulombic Efficiency显示文摘Amorphous carbon shows great potential as an anode material for high-performance potassium-ion batteries;however,its abundant defects or micropores generally capture K ions,thus resulting in high irreversible capacity with low initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE)and limited practical application.Herein,pore engineering via a facile self-etching strategy is applied to achieve mesoporous carbon(meso-C)nanowires with interconnected framework.Abundant and evenly distributed mesopores could provide short K^+ pathways for its rapid diffusion.Compared to microporous carbon with highly disordered structure,the meso-C with Zn-catalyzed short-range ordered structure enables more K^+to reversibly intercalate into the graphitic layers.Consequently,the mesoC shows an increased capacity by ~100 mAh g^-1 at 0.1 A g^-1,and the capacity retention is 70.7% after 1000 cycles at 1 A g^-1.Multiple in/ex situ characterizations reveal the reversible structural changes during the charging/discharging process.Particularly,benefiting from the mesoporous structure with reduced specific surface area by 31.5 times and less defects,the meso-C generates less irreversible capacity with high ICE up to 76.7%,one of the best reported values so far.This work provides a new perspective that mesopores engineering can effectively accelerate K^+ diffusion and enhance K^+ adsorption/intercalation storage.Ruiting Guo Xiong Liu Bo Wen Fang Liu Jiashen Meng Peijie Wu Jinsong Wu Qi Li Liqiang Mai 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11:5
6Synthesis of vertically aligned carbon nanotube arrays on silicon substrates显示文摘The growth of well-aligned carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays using a heat chemical vapor deposition system on silicon substrates is reported. The growth properties of CNT arrays are studied as a function of synthesis conditions. It is found that 750℃ and 10 nm Fe film are suitable conditions for the growth of well-aligned CNT arrays. CNT arrays with a uniform diameter, thick tube wall and firm cohesion to the Si substrate can be grown for C2H2 concentration of 27%. 7Geochemistry and Zircon U–Pb–Hf Isotopic Systematics of the Sanchahe Quartz Monzonite Intrusion in the North Qinling Tectonic Zone, Central China: Implications for its Petrogenesis and Tectonic Setting显示文摘The Sanchahe quartz monzonite intrusion is situated in the middle segment of the North Qinling tectonic belt, Central China mainland, and consists chiefly of sanukitoid–like and granodioritic-monzogranitic rocks. The sanukitoid–like rocks are characterized by quartz monzonites, which display higher Mg#(55.0–59.0), and enrichments in Na2 O+K2 O(7.28–8.94 %), Ni(21-2312 ppm), Cr(56-4167 ppm), Sr(553-923 ppm), Ba(912-1355 ppm) and LREE((La/Yb)N =9.47–15.3), from negative to slightly positive Eu anomalies(δEu=+0.61 to +1.10), but also depletion in Nb, Ta and Ti. The granodioritic-monzogranitic rocks diaplay various Mg#of 6.00-53.0, high Na2 O+K2 O(7.20– 8.30%), Sr(455–1081 ppm) and(La/Yb)N(27.6–47.8), with positive Eu anomalies(δEu=1.03–1.57) and depleted Nb, Ta and Ti. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICPMS) zircon U-Pb isotopic dating reveals that the sanukitoid-like rocks were emplaced at two episodes of magmatism at 457±3 Ma and 431±2 Ma, respectively. The monzogranites were emplaced at 445±7Ma. Sanukitoid–like rocks have their εHf(t) values ranging from +0.3 to +15.1 with Hf–depleted mantle model ages of 445 to 1056 Ma, and the monzogranite shows its εHf(t) values ranging from 21.6 to +10.8 with Hf–depleted mantle model ages of 635 to 3183 Ma. Petrological, geochemical and zircon Lu –Hf isotopic features indicate that the magmatic precursor of sanukitoid–like rocks was derived from partial melting of the depleted mantle wedge materials that were metasomatized by fluids and melts related to subduction of oceanic slab, subsequently the sanukitoid magma ascended to crust level. This emplaced mantle magma caused partial melting of crustally metamorphosed sedimentary rocks, and mixing with the crustal magma, and suffered fractional crystallization, which lead to formations of quartz monzonites. However, the magmatic precursor of the granodioritic-monzogranitic rocks were derived from partial melting of subducted oceanic slab basalts. 8Two Dimensional Nanoscale Reciprocating Sliding Contacts of Textured Surfaces显示文摘Detailed behaviors of nanoscale textured surfaces during the reciprocating sliding contacts are still unknown although they are widely used in mechanical components to improve tribological characteristics. The current research of sliding contacts of textured surfaces mainly focuses on the experimental studies, while the cost is too high. Molecular dynamics(MD) simulation is widely used in the studies of nanoscale single-pass sliding contacts, but the CPU cost of MD simulation is also too high to simulate the reciprocating sliding contacts. In this paper, employing multiscale method which couples molecular dynamics simulation and finite element method, two dimensional nanoscale reciprocating sliding contacts of textured surfaces are investigated. Four textured surfaces with different texture shapes are designed, and a rigid cylindrical tip is used to slide on these textured surfaces. For different textured surfaces, average potential energies and average friction forces of the corresponding sliding processes are analyzed. The analyzing results show that 'running-in' stages are different for each texture, and steady friction processes are discovered for textured surfaces II, III and IV. Texture shape and sliding direction play important roles in reciprocating sliding contacts, which influence average friction forces greatly. 9Three new zinc(Ⅱ) coordination polymers:Modulation of extended structures driven by assistant ligands显示文摘Three new complexes, [Zn(dtb)(4,4'-bipy)]·5H2O (1), [Zn(dtb)(bpp)]·H2O (2) and [Zn(dtb)(phen)2]·CH3CH2OH·H2O (3) (dtb = 5,5'-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzoic acid), 4,4'-bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine, bpp = 1,3-bi(4-pyridyl) propane, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), have been constructed by dtb ligand and zinc salt in the presence of different assistant N-containing ligands under hydrothermal conditions. The structures of the complexes were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Although compounds 1 and 2 are both 2D networks, the cavities’ forms and pitch of helix are different. The structure of compound 3 shows a 1D helical chain, and is extended by the supermolecule interactions into a 2D framework. 10Friction Characteristics of Nanoscale Sliding Contacts between Multi-Asperity Tips and Textured Surfaces显示文摘Nanoscale sliding contacts of smooth surfaces or between a single asperity and a smooth surface have been widely investigated by molecular dynamics simulations,while there are few studies on the sliding contacts between two rough surfaces.Actually,the friction of two rough surfaces considering interactions between more asperities should be more realistic.By using multiscale method,friction characteristics of two dimensional nanoscale sliding contacts between rigid multi-asperity tips and elastic textured surfaces are investigated.Four nanoscale textured surfaces with different texture shapes are designed,and six multi-asperity tips composed of cylindrical asperities with different radii are used to slide on the textured surfaces.Friction forces are compared for different tips,and effects of the asperity radii on the friction characteristics are investigated.Average friction forces for all the cases are listed and compared,and effects of texture shapes of the textured surfaces are discussed.The results show that textured surface II has a better structure to reduce friction forces.The multi-asperity tips composed of asperities with R=20r0(r0=0.227 7 nm)or R=30r0get higher friction forces compared with other cases,and more atoms of the textured surfaces are taken away by these two tips,which are harmful to reduce friction or wear.For the case of R=10r0,friction forces are also high due to large contact areas,but the sliding processes are stable and few atoms are taken away by the tip.The proposed research considers interactions between more asperities to make the model approach to the real sliding contact problems.The results will help to vary or even control friction characteristics by textured surfaces,or provide references to the design of textured surfaces.TONG Ruiting LIU Geng LIU Tianxiang 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,6:3
11Target-triggered inhibiting oxidase-mimicking activity of platinum nanoparticles for ultrasensitive colorimetric detection of silver ion显示文摘The development of efficient methods for the detection of hazardous and toxic elements is extremely important for environmental security and public health. In this work, we developed a facile colorimetric assaying system for Ag+ detection in aqueous solution. Chitosan-stabilized platinum nanoparticles(ChPtNPs) were synthesized and severed as an artificial oxidase to catalyze the oxidation of the substrate3,30,5,50-tetramethylbenzidine(TMB) and generate color signal. In the presence of Ag+, due to the strong metallophilic interactions between Ag+ and Pt2+ on the surface of Ch-PtNPs, Ag+ can weaken the affinity to the substrates and inactivate the catalytic activity of Ch-PtNPs, leading to decreased absorbance signal to varying degrees depending on Ag+ amount. Combing the specific binding between Ch-PtNPs and Ag+ with signal amplification procedure based on the Ch-PtNPs-catalyzed TMB oxidation, a sensitive,selective, simple, cost-effective, and rapid detection method for Ag+ can be realized. Ag+ ions in tap and lake waters have been successfully detected. 12Beta-and Novel Delta-Coronaviruses Are Identified from Wild Animals in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Outbreaks of severe virus infections with the potential to cause global pandemics are increasingly concerning. One type of those commonly emerging and re-emerging pathogens are coronaviruses(SARS-Co V, MERS-Co V and SARS-Co V-2).Wild animals are hosts of different coronaviruses with the potential risk of cross-species transmission. However, little is known about the reservoir and host of coronaviruses in wild animals in Qinghai Province, where has the greatest biodiversity among the world's high-altitude regions. Here, from the next-generation sequencing data, we obtained a known beta-coronavirus(beta-Co V) genome and a novel delta-coronavirus(delta-Co V) genome from faecal samples of 29 marmots, 50 rats and 25 birds in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, China in July 2019. According to the phylogenetic analysis, the beta-Co V shared high nucleotide identity with Coronavirus HKU24. Although the novel delta-Co V(Mt Co V) was closely related to Sparrow deltacoronavirus ISU42824, the protein spike of the novel delta-Co V showed highest amino acid identity to Sparrow coronavirus HKU17(73.1%). Interestingly, our results identified a novel host(Montifringilla taczanowskii) for the novel delta-Co V and the potential cross-species transmission. The most recent common ancestor(t MRCA) of Mt Co Vs along with other closest members of the species of Coronavirus HKU15 was estimated to be 289 years ago. 13Evaluation of Heavy Metals and Pesticide Residues in Dendrobium officinale Produced in Guangxi显示文摘[Objectives]To establish a method for the determination of heavy metals and pesticide residues in Dendrobium officinale produced in Guangxi and its culture substrate.[Methods]The contents of five heavy metals(Pb,Cd,As,Hg and Cu)were determined by the atomic absorption spectrophotometric(AAS)method;residues of 9 organochlorine pesticides(α-BHC,β-BHC,γ-BHC,δ-BHC,p,p′-DDT,p,p′-DDE,p,p′-DDD,o,p′-DDT and pentachloronitrobenzene)were determined by gas chromatography(GC).[Results]The contents of five heavy metals in the medicinal materials of D.officinale produced in Guangxi were 0.96,0.21,0.021 mg/kg,and not detected,and 0.35 mg/kg.The contents of five heavy metals in the culture substrate were 0.03,0.19,0.21,0.004 and 1.80 mg/kg,respectively;the content of 9 organochlorine pesticide residues in the sample was not detected.[Conclusions]The detection results of heavy metal content and organochlorine pesticide residues in D.officinale produced in Guangxi and its substrate are consistent with the limit requirements of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.This experiment is expected to provide reliable data reference for ensuring the safety of the drug resources of D.officinale in Guangxi.Hua ZHU Ruiting HE Piaoling HUANG Wenqi YANG Anda WEI Yuanjing TAO Zhonghua DAI 2019Medicinal Plant2019,10,5:3

15Adaptive Multiscale Method for Two-dimensional Nanoscale Adhesive Contacts显示文摘There are two separate traditional approaches to model contact problems: continuum and atomistic theory. Continuum theory is successfully used in many domains, but when the scale of the model comes to nanometer, continuum approximation meets challenges. Atomistic theory can catch the detailed behaviors of an individual atom by using molecular dynamics (MD) or quantum mechanics, although accurately, it is usually time-consuming. A multiscale method coupled MD and finite element (FE) is presented. To mesh the FE region automatically, an adaptive method based on the strain energy gradient is introduced to the multiscale method to constitute an adaptive multiscale method. Utilizing the proposed method, adhesive contacts between a rigid cylinder and an elastic substrate are studied, and the results are compared with full MD simulations. The process of FE meshes refinement shows that adaptive multiscale method can make FE mesh generation more flexible. Comparison of the displacements of boundary atoms in the overlap region with the results from full MD simulations indicates that adaptive multiscale method can transfer displacements effectively. Displacements of atoms and FE nodes on the center line of the multiscale model agree well with that of atoms in full MD simulations, which shows the continuity in the overlap region. Furthermore, the Von Mises stress contours and contact force distributions in the contact region are almost same as full MD simulations. 16Crack-free single-crystalline Co-free Ni-rich LiNi_(0.95)Mn_(0.05)O_(2) layered cathode显示文摘The rapid growth in global electric vehicles(EVs)sales has promoted the development of Co-free,Ni-rich layered cathodes for state-of-the-art high energy-density,inexpensive lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,progress in their commercial use has been seriously hampered by exasperating performance deterioration and safety concerns.Herein,a robust single-crystalline,Co-free,Ni-rich LiNi_(0.95)Mn_(0.05)O_(2)(SC-NM95)cathode is successfully designed using a molten salt-assisted method,and it exhibits better structural stability and cycling durability than those of polycrystalline LiNi_(0.95)Mn_(0.05)O_(2) (PC-NM95).Notably,the SC-NM95 cathode achieves a high discharge capacity of 218.2 mAh g^(-1),together with a high energy density of 837.3 Wh kg^(-1) at 0.1 C,mainly due to abundant Ni^(2+)/Ni^(3+) redox.It also presents an outstanding capacity retention(84.4%)after 200 cycles at 1 C,because its integrated single-crystalline structure effectively inhibits particle microcracking and surface phase transformation.In contrast,the PC-NM95 cathode suffers from rapid capacity fading owing to the nucleation and propagation of intergranular microcracking during cycling,facilitating aggravated parasitic reactions and rocksalt phase accumulation.This work provides a fundamental strategy for designing high-performance singlecrystalline,Co-free,Ni-rich cathode materials and also represents an important breakthrough in developing high-safe,low-cost,and high-energy LIBs.Lianshan Ni Ruiting Guo Susu Fang Jun Chen Jinqiang Gao Yu Mei Shu Zhang Wentao Deng Guoqiang Zou Hongshuai Hou Xiaobo Ji 2022eScience2022,2,1:2

19Effective suppression of the photodarkening effect in high-power Yb-doped fiber amplifiers by H2 loading显示文摘The radical suppression of the photodarkening effect and laser performance deterioration via H2 loading were demonstrated in high-power Yb-doped fiber(YDF)amplifiers.The photodarkening loss at equilibrium was114.4 d B/m at 702 nm in the pristine fiber,while it vanished in the H2-loaded fiber.To obtain a deeper understanding of the impact of photodarkening on laser properties,the evolution of the mode instability threshold and output power in fiber amplifiers was investigated.After pumping for 300 min,the mode instability threshold of the pristine fiber dropped from 770 to 612 W,and the periodic fluctuation of the output power became intense,finally reaching 100 W.To address the detrimental effects originating from photodarkening,H2 loading was applied in contrast experiments.The output power remained stable,and no sign of mode instability was observed in the H2-loaded fiber.Moreover,the transmittance at 638 nm confirmed the absence of the photodarkening effect.The results pave the way for the further development of high-power fiber lasers.RUITING CAO GUI CHEN YISHA CHEN ZHILUN ZHANG XIANFENG LIN BIN DAI LUYUN YANG JINYAN LI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,3:2
20Synthesis,Characterization and Electromagnetic Studies on Nanocrystalline Co_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)Fe_2O_4 Synthesized by Polyacrylamide Gel显示文摘Nanocrystalline Co_(0.5)Zn_(0.5)Fe_2O_4 ferrite was synthesized by polyacrylamide gel method.The electromagnetic and microwave absorption properties of the ferrite were investigated.The results indicated that calcining temperature of the ferrite had a significant influence on the effective properties of the ferrite.When the calcining temperature was 500,600 and 700℃,the average size of particles was 10,30 and 80 nm,respectively. The dielectric loss(ε″)and magnetic loss(u″)of the ferrite was around 0.65 and 0.29 at 8.2 GHz,respectively.
