| 1 | Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer Modeling of AC Arc in Ferrosilicon Submerged Arc Furnace显示文摘A two-dimensional mathematical model was developed to describe the heat transfer and fluid flow in an AC arc zone of a ferrosilicon submerged arc furnace.In this model,the time-dependent conservation equations of mass,momentum,and energy in the specified domain of plasma zone were numerically solved by coupling with the Maxwell and Laplace equations for magnetic filed and electric potential,respectively.A control volume-based finite difference method was used to solve the governing equations in cylindrical coordinates.The reliability of the developed model was checked by experimental data from the previous available literature.The results of present model were in good agreement with the given data comparing with other models,because of solving the Maxwell and Laplace equations simultaneously in order to calculate current density.In addition,parametric studies were carried out to evaluate the effects of electrical current and arc length on flow field and temperature distribution within the arc.According to the computed results,a lower power input led to a higher arc efficiency. | M Mohebi Moghadam S H Seyedein M Reza Aboutalebi | 2010 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2010，17，9： | 5 |

| 3 | Atmospheric pressure gliding arc discharge plasma treatments for improving germination, growth and yield of wheat显示文摘Wheat(Triticum aestivum) seeds were treated with atmospheric pressure gliding arc discharge plasmas to investigate the effects on water absorption, seed germination rate, seedling growth and yield in wheat. The surface architectures and functionalities of the seeds were found to modify due to plasma treatments. 6 min treatment was provided 95%–100% germination rate.For the treatment duration of 3 and 9 min the growth activity, dry matter accumulation, leaves chlorophyll contents, longest spikes, number of spikes/spikelet and total soluble protein content in shoots were improved. | 4 | Association of homocysteine and smoking with cerebral microemboli in patients with mechanical heart valves:a transcranial Doppler study显示文摘Objectives Microembolic signals(MES)on transcranial Doppler(TCD)predict stroke and cognitive decline.Plasma levels of total homocysteine(tHcy),a prothrombotic factor,are higher in patients with microemboli in carotid stenosis and in patients with paradoxical embolism.In this study we assessed the association between the level of tHcy and the number of MES in patients with mechanical heart valves(MHVs).Methods TCD monitoring was performed to detect MES before and after breathing 100% oxygen and repeated every 2-4 weeks up to six times.results Twenty-five patients with MHVs(mean age:63.60±10.15 years)participated in this study;15 were men(66.47±7.25 years)and 10 were women(59.30±12.60 years).In total,there were 126 study visits.In multiple regression,higher tHcy was associated with more MES in both preoxygenation(OR 1.34(95%CI 1.07 to 1.68,P=0.009))and postoxygenation(OR 1.40(95% CI 1.07 to 1.83,P=0.01))phases.Current smoking and the length of time between the operation and monitoring also correlated with a higher number of MES before and after breathing oxygen,particularly in women.conclusions Higher tHcy and smoking were associated with a higher MES count in both preoxygenation and postoxygenation phases.Because smoking can be stopped and hyperhomocysteinaemia is treatable,these are clinically important findings. | Alicia Mattia M Reza Azarpazhooh Claudio Munoz Chrysi Bogiatzi Mackenzie A Quantz J David Spence | 2017 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017，2，4： | 2 |
