| 1 | High-temperature infrared camouflage with efficient thermal management显示文摘High-temperature infrared(IR)camouflage is crucial to the effective concealment of high-temperature objects but remains a challenging issue,as the thermal radiation of an object is proportional to the fourth power of temperature(T4).Here,we experimentally demonstrate high-temperature IR camouflage with efficient thermal management.By combining a silica aerogel for thermal insulation and a Ge/ZnS multilayer wavelength-selective emitter for simultaneous radiative cooling(high emittance in the 5-8μm non-atmospheric window)and IR camouflage(low emittance in the 8-14μm atmospheric window),the surface temperature of an object is reduced from 873 to 410 K.The IR camouflage is demonstrated by indoor/outdoor(with/without earthshine)radiation temperatures of 310/248 K for an object at 873/623 K and a 78% reduction in with-earthshine lock-on range.This scheme may introduce opportunities for high-temperature thermal management and infrared signal processing. | Huanzheng Zhu Qiang Li Chunqi Zheng Yu Hong Ziquan Xu HanWang Weidong Shen Sandeep Kaur Pintu Ghosh Min Qiu | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 8 |

| 4 | Endoscopic retrieval of a duodenal perforating teaspoon显示文摘Foreign objects ingestion occur commonly in pediatric patients. The majority of ingested foreign bodies pass spontaneously the gastrointestinal tract and surgery is rarely required for extraction. Endoscopic removal of foreign bodies larger than 10 cm has not yet been described. We present the case of a 16 years old bulimic girl that swallowed a 12 cm long teaspoon in order to provoke vomiting. The teaspoon perforated the duodenum. However, it was removed during gastroscopy and the site of perforation was closed endoscopically. | 7 | Emerging role of caldesmon in cancer:A potential biomarker for colorectal cancer and other cancers显示文摘Colorectal cancer(CRC) is a devastating disease, mainly because of metastasis. As a result, there is a need to better understand the molecular basis of invasion and metastasis and to identify new biomarkers and therapeutic targets to aid in managing these tumors. The actin cytoskeleton and actin-binding proteins are known to play an important role in the process of cancer metastasis because they control and execute essential steps in cell motility and contractility as well as cell division. Caldesmon(CaD) is an actin-binding protein encoded by the CALD1 gene as multiple transcripts that mainly encode two protein isoforms: High-molecular-weight CaD, expressed in smooth muscle, and low-molecular weight CaD(l-CaD), expressed in nonsmooth muscle cells. According to our comprehensive review of the literature, CaD, particularly l-CaD, plays a key role in the development, metastasis, and resistance to chemoradiotherapy in colorectal, breast, and urinary bladder cancers and gliomas, among other malignancies. CaD is involved in many aspects of the carcinogenic hallmarks, including epithelial mesenchymal transition via transforming growth factor-beta signaling, angiogenesis, resistance to hormonal therapy, and immune evasion. Recent data show that CaD is expressed in tumor cells as well as in stromal cells, such as cancerassociated fibroblasts, where it modulates the tumor microenvironment to favor the tumor. Interestingly, CaD undergoes selective tumor-specific splicing, and the resulting isoforms are generally not expressed in normal tissues, making these transcripts ideal targets for drug design.
