| 1 | Oxidative stress in granulosa cells contributes to poor oocytequality and IVF-ET outcomes in women with polycystic ovarysyndrome显示文摘The increased levels of intraceHular reactive oxygen species (ROS) in granulosa cells (GCs) may allectthe pregnancy results in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In this study, we compared the in vitrofertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) results of 22 patients with PCOS and 25 patients with tubal factorinfertility and detected the ROS levels in the GCs of these two groups. Results showed that the PCOS group hadsignificantly larger follicles on the administration day for human chorionic gonadotropin than the tubal factorgroup (P 〈 0.05); however, the number of retrieved oocytes was not significantly different between the two groups(P 〉 0.05). PCOS group had slightly lower fertilization, cleavage, grade IflI embryo, clinical pregnancy, andimplantation rates and higher miscarriage rate than the tubal factor group (P 〉 0.05). We further found asignificantly higher ROS level of GCs in the PCOS group than in the tubal factor group (P 〈 0.05). The increasedROS levels in GCs caused GC apoptosis, whereas NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2) specific inhibitors (diphenyleneio-donium and apocynin) significantly reduced the ROS production in the PCOS group. In conclusion, the increasedROS expression levels in PCOS GCs greatly induced cell apoptosis, which further affected the oocyte quality andreduced the positive IVF-ET pregnancy results of women with PCOS. | 2 | MiR156 regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis through SPL targets and other microRNAs in poplar显示文摘Anthocyanins biosynthesized from the flavonoid pathway are types of pigments that are involved in the protection of poplar from biotic and abiotic stresses.Previous researchers studying anthocyanin-related transcription factors and structural genes in poplar have made significant discoveries.However,little is known about the regulatory role of microRNAs in anthocyanin biosynthesis in poplar.Here,we overexpressed miR156 in poplar to study the comprehensive effects of the miR156-SPL module on the biosynthesis of anthocyanins.Small RNA sequencing analysis revealed 228 microRNAs differentially expressed in transgenic poplar plants with dramatically increased miR156 levels.Furthermore,integrated microRNAomic and transcriptomic analysis suggested that two microRNAs,miR160h,and miR858,have the potential to affect anthocyanin accumulation in poplar by regulating auxin response factors and MYB transcription factors,respectively.Additionally,the accumulation of miR160h and miR858 displayed a positive correlation with miR156 levels,suggesting a possible interaction between the miR156-SPL module and these microRNAs in poplar.Last,metabolomics analysis revealed that the levels of anthocyanins,flavones,and flavonols were substantially elevated in transgenic poplar plants overexpressing miR156 compared with the wild type,whereas the total lignin content was reduced in the transgenic plants.Taken together,our results indicate that miR156 can fine tune the anthocyanin biosynthetic pathway via multiple factors,including microRNAs,transcription factors,and the levels of structural genes,in poplar.This provides additional clues for understanding the complex regulatory network of anthocyanin biosynthesis in woody plants. | Yamei Wang Wenwen Liu Xinwei Wang Ruijuan Yang Zhenying Wu HanWang LeiWang Zhubing Hu Siyi Guo Hailing Zhang Jinxing Lin Chunxiang Fu | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 9 |
| 3 | High-temperature infrared camouflage with efficient thermal management显示文摘High-temperature infrared(IR)camouflage is crucial to the effective concealment of high-temperature objects but remains a challenging issue,as the thermal radiation of an object is proportional to the fourth power of temperature(T4).Here,we experimentally demonstrate high-temperature IR camouflage with efficient thermal management.By combining a silica aerogel for thermal insulation and a Ge/ZnS multilayer wavelength-selective emitter for simultaneous radiative cooling(high emittance in the 5-8μm non-atmospheric window)and IR camouflage(low emittance in the 8-14μm atmospheric window),the surface temperature of an object is reduced from 873 to 410 K.The IR camouflage is demonstrated by indoor/outdoor(with/without earthshine)radiation temperatures of 310/248 K for an object at 873/623 K and a 78% reduction in with-earthshine lock-on range.This scheme may introduce opportunities for high-temperature thermal management and infrared signal processing. | Huanzheng Zhu Qiang Li Chunqi Zheng Yu Hong Ziquan Xu HanWang Weidong Shen Sandeep Kaur Pintu Ghosh Min Qiu | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 8 |

| 7 | Fertility outcome analysis after modified laparoscopic microsurgical tubal anastomosis显示文摘Modified laparoscopic microsurgical tubal anastomosis is an alternative for microsurgical anastomosis via laparotomy to reverse sterilization in women with renewed child wish.The current study aims to evaluate the fertility outcome after modified laparoscopic microsurgical tubal anastomosis.A retrospective study was performed.Fifty-eight women who underwent modified laparoscopic microsurgical tubal anastomosis were monitored to investigate the fertility outcome and characteristics of this new technology.Of the 58 patients,the cumulative pregnancy rate(PR)in the 42 patients with follow-up data was 23.8%(10/42),57.1%(24/42),66.7%(28/42),and 73.8%(31/42)within 6,12,24,and 36 months after surgery,respectively.The intrauterine PR was 69.0%(29/42).Two patients(4.8%)had ectopic pregnancies that occurred within 24 months of surgery;three cases ended in spontaneous abortion.The delivery rate was 83.9%(26/31).The length of operating time was 1.20.3 h,with a range of 1.0–2.5 h(60–145 min),and the mean time was approximately 75 min.The blood loss was relatively small,between 10 and 50 ml with an average amount of 22 ml.Thus,the modified laparoscopic tubal anastomosis is a highly successful procedure and a viable alternative to open abdominal microsurgical approaches.Compared with the traditional laparoscopic tubal sterilization reversal,this modified approach has three advantages:(1)less invasive approach via a trocar reduction;(2)remodeling of tube is better performing tied together after 3–4 sutures;and(3)faster operating time. | Jihui Ai Pei Zhang Lei Jin Yufeng Li Jing Yue Ding Ma Hanwang Zhang | 2011 | Frontiers of Medicine2011,5,3: | 0 |

| 9 | Compositional Prompting Video-language Models to Understand Procedure in Instructional Videos显示文摘Instructional videos are very useful for completing complex daily tasks,which naturally contain abundant clip-narration pairs.Existing works for procedure understanding are keen on pretraining various video-language models with these pairs and then finetuning downstream classifiers and localizers in predetermined category space.These video-language models are proficient at representing short-term actions,basic objects,and their combinations,but they are still far from understanding long-term procedures.In addition,the predetermined procedure category faces the problem of combination disaster and is inherently inapt to unseen procedures.Therefore,we propose a novel compositional prompt learning(CPL)framework to understand long-term procedures by prompting short-term video-language models and reformulating several classical procedure understanding tasks into general video-text matching problems.Specifically,the proposed CPL consists of one visual prompt and three compositional textual prompts(including the action prompt,object prompt,and procedure prompt),which could compositionally distill knowledge from short-term video-language models to facilitate long-term procedure understanding.Besides,the task reformulation enables our CPL to perform well in all zero-shot,few-shot,and fully-supervised settings.Extensive experiments on two widely-used datasets for procedure understanding demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. | Guyue Hu Bin He Hanwang Zhang | 2023 | Machine Intelligence Research2023,20,2: | 0 |
