1Special Section:SARS-CoV-2 Preliminary evidence from a multicenter prospective observational study of the safety and efficacy of chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19显示文摘Effective therapies are urgently needed for the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.Chloroquine has been proved to have antiviral effect against coronavirus in vitro.In this study,we aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of chloroquine with different doses in COVID-19.In this multicenter prospective observational study,we enrolled patients older than 18 years old with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection excluding critical cases from 12 hospitals in Guangdong and Hubei Provinces.Eligible patients received chloroquinephosphate s00 mg,orally,once(half dose)or twice(full dose)daily.Patients treated with non-chloroquine therapy were included as historical controls.The primary endpoint is the time to undetectable viral RNA.Secondary outcomes include the proportion of patients with undetectable viral RNA by day 10 and 14,hospitalization time,duration of fever,and adverse events.A total of 197 patients completed chloroquine treatment,and 176patients were included as historical controls.The median time to achieve an undetectable viral RNA was shorter in chloroquine than in non-chloroquine(absolute difference in medians-6.0 days;95%CI-6.0 to—4.0).The duration of fever is shorter in chloroquine(geometric mean ratio 0.6;95%CIO.5 to 0.8).No serious adverse events were observed in the chloroquine group.Patients treated with half dose experienced lower rate of adverse events than with full dose.Although randomized trials are needed for further evaluation,this study provides evidence for safety and efficacy of chloroquine in COVID-19 and suggests that chloroquine can be a cost-effective therapy for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.Mingxing Huang Man Li Fei Xiao Pengfei Pang Jiabi Liang Tiantian Tang Shaoxuan Liu Binghui Chen Jingxian Shu Yingying You Yang Li Meiwen Tang Jianhui Zhou Guanmin Jiang Jingfen Xiang Wenxin Hong Songmei He Zhaoqin Wang Jianhua Feng Changqing Lin Yinong Ye Zhilong Wu Yaocai Li Bei Zhong Ruilin Sun Zhongsi Hong Jing Liu Huili Chen Xiaohua Wang Zhonghe Li Duanqing Pei Lin Tian Jinyu Xia Shanping Jiang Nanshan Zhong Hong Shan 2020National Science Review2020,7,9:20

3Safety and efficacy of stent-assisted coiling for acutely ruptured wide-necked intracranial aneurysms:comparison of LVIS stents with laser-cut stents显示文摘Background:To compare the safety and efficacy of LVIS stent-assisted coiling with those of laser-cut stent-assisted coiling for the treatment of acutely ruptured wide-necked intracranial aneurysms.Methods:Patients with acutely ruptured wide-necked intracranial aneurysms treated with LVIS stent-assisted coiling(LVIS stent group)and laser-cut stent-assisted coiling(laser-cut stent group)were retrospectively reviewed from January 2014 to December 2017.Propensity score matching was used to adjust for potential differences in age,sex,aneurysm location,aneurysm size,neck width,Hunt-Hess grade,and modified Fisher grade.Perioperative procedure-related complications and clinical and angiographic follow-up outcomes were compared.Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to determine the associations between procedure-related complications and potential risk factors.Results:A total of 142 patients who underwent LVIS stent-assisted coiling and 93 patients who underwent laser-cut stent-assisted coiling were enrolled after 1:2 propensity score matching.The angiographic follow-up outcomes showed that the LVIS stent group had a slightly higher complete occlusion rate and lower recurrence rate than the laser-cut stent group(92.7%vs 80.6%;3.7%vs 9.7%,P=0.078).The clinical outcomes at discharge and follow-up between the two groups demonstrated no significant differences(P=0.495 and P=0.875,respectively).The rates of intraprocedural thrombosis,postprocedural thrombosis,postoperative early rebleeding,and procedure-related death were 0.7%(1/142),1.4%(2/142),2.8%(4/142),and 2.1%(3/142)in the LVIS stent group,respectively,and 4.3%(4/93),2.2%(2/93),1.1%(1/93),and 3.2%(3/93)in the laser-cut stent group,respectively(P=0.082,0.649,0.651,and 0.683).Nevertheless,the rates of overall procedure-related complications and intraprocedural rupture in the LVIS stent group were significantly lower than those in the laser-cut stent group(5.6%vs 14.0%,P=0.028;0.7%vs 6.5%,P=0.016).Multivariate analysis showed that laser-cut stent-assisted coiling was an independent predictor for overall procedurerelated complications(OR=2.727,P=0.037);a history of diabetes(OR=7.275,P=0.027)and other cerebrovascular diseases(OR=8.083,P=0.022)were independent predictors for ischemic complications,whereas none of the factors were predictors for hemorrhagic complications.Conclusions:Compared with laser-cut stent-assisted coiling,LVIS stent-assisted coiling for the treatment of acutely ruptured wide-necked intracranial aneurysms could reduce the rates of overall procedure-related complications and intraprocedural rupture.Gaici Xue Qiao Zuo Xiaoxi Zhang Haishuang Tang Rui Zhao Qiang Li Yibin Fang Pengfei Yang Bo Hong Yi Xu Qinghai Huang Jianmin Liu 2021Chinese Neurosurgical Journal2021,7,2:8

6Supersaturation controlled growth of MAFAPbI3 perovskite film for high efficiency solar cells显示文摘Controlling the nucleation and growth of organic-inorganic hybrids perovskite is of key importance to improve the morphology and crystallinity of perovskite films. However, the growth mechanism of perovskite films based on classical crystallization theory is not fully understood. Here, we develop a supersaturation controlled strategy(SCS) to balance the nucleation and crystal growth speeds. By this strategy, we are able to find an ideal supersaturation region to realize a balance of nucleation and crystal growth, which yields highly crystallized perovskite films with micrometer-scale grains. Besides, we provide a thoughtful analysis of nucleation and growth based on the fabrication of the perovskite films. As a result, the highest photovoltaic power conversion efficiencies(PCE) of 19.70% and 20.31% are obtained for the planar and the meso-superstructured devices, respectively. 7A review of progress in coupled ocean-atmosphere model developments for ENSO studies in China显示文摘El Nino-Southern Oscillation(ENSO) is the strongest interannual signal that is producedby basinscale processes in the tropical Pacific,with significant effects on weather and climate worldwide.In the past,extensive and intensive international efforts have been devoted to coupled model developments for ENSO studies.A hierarchy of coupled ocean-atmo sphere models has been formulated;in terms of their complexity,they can be categorized into intermediate coupled models(ICMs),hybrid coupled models(HCMs),and fully coupled general circulation models(CGCMs).ENSO modeling has made significant progress over the past decades,reaching a stage where coupled models can now be used to successfully predict ENSO events 6 months to one year in advance.Meanwhile,ENSO exhibits great diversity and complexity as observed in nature,which still cannot be adequately captured by current state-of-the-art coupled models,presenting a challenge to ENSO modeling.We primarily reviewed the long-term efforts in ENSO modeling continually and steadily made at different institutions in China;some selected representative examples are presented here to review the current status of ENSO model developments and applications,which have been actively pursued with noticeable progress being made recently.As ENSO simulations are very sensitive to model formulations and process representations etc.,dedicated efforts have been devoted to ENSO model developments and improvements.Now,different ocean-atmosphere coupled models have been available in China,which exhibit good model performances and have already had a variety of applications to climate modeling,including the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6).Nevertheless,large biases and uncertainties still exist in ENSO simulations and predictions,and there are clear rooms for their improvements,which are still an active area of researches and applications.Here,model performances of ENSO simulations are assessed in terms of advantages and disadvantages with these differently formulated coupled models,pinpointing to the areas where they need to be further improved for ENSO studies.These analyses provide valuable guidance for future improvements in ENSO simulations and predictions.ZHANG Rong-Hua YU Yongqiang SONG Zhenya REN Hong-Li TANG Youmin QIAO Fangli WU Tongwen GAO Chuan HU Junya TIAN Feng ZHU Yuchao CHEN Lin LIU Hailong LIN Pengfei WU Fanghua WANG Lin 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,4:4

9Single-/fused-band dual-mode mid-infrared imaging with colloidal quantum-dot triple-junctions显示文摘Image data acquired with fused multispectral information can be used for effective identification and navigation owing to additional information beyond human vision,including thermal distribution,night vision,and molecular composition.However,the construction of photodetectors with such capabilities is hindered by the structural complexity arising from the integration of multiple semiconductor junctions with distinct energy gaps and lattice constants.In this work,we develop a colloidal quantum-dot dual-mode detector capable of detecting,separating,and fusing photons from various wavelength ranges.Using three vertically stacked colloidal quantum-dot homojunctions with alternating polarity,single-band short-wave infrared imaging and fused-band imaging(short-wave and mid-wave infrared)can be achieved with the same detector by controlling bias polarity and magnitude.The dual-mode detectors show detectivity up to 8×10^(10)Jones at the fused-band mode and 3.1×10^(11)Jones at the single-band mode,respectively.Without image post-processing algorithms,the dual-mode detectors could provide both night vision and thermal information-enhanced night vision imaging capability.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first colloidal quantum-dot detector that can achieve such functionality.The operation mode can be changed at a high frequency up to 1.7 MHz,making it possible to achieve simultaneously dual-mode imaging and remote temperature sensing.SHUO ZHANG GE MU JIE CAO YUNING LUO QUN HAO MENGLU CHEN YIMEI TAN PENGFEI ZHAO XIN TANG 2022Photonics Research2022,10,8:3

11Magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effects in amorphous and crystalline Gd_(55)Co_(35)Ni_(10) ribbons显示文摘The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effects of amorphous and crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons are investigated.A main phase with a Ho 12 Co 7-type monoclinic structure(space group P21/c) and a minor phase with a Ho4Co3-type hexagonal structure(space group P63/m) are obtained for crystalline ribbon after annealing.The amorphous ribbons order ferromagnetically and undergo a second-order transition at 192 K.For crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons,two magnetic phase transitions occur at 158 and 214 K,respectively.The peak value of-△SM under a field change of 0-5 T is 6.5 J/kg K at 192 K for amorphous Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons.A relatively large magnetic entropy change(~5.0 J/kg K) under a field change of 0-5 T for the crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 ribbons is obtained in the temperature interval range of 154-214 K.The large platform of magnetic entropy change and the negligible thermal/magnetic hysteresis loss mean the crystalline Gd55Co35Ni10 compound can satisfy the requirement of the Ericsson-type refrigerator working in the temperature range from 154K to 214K.ZHONG XiChun TANG PengFei GAO BeiBei MIN JiXiong LIU ZhongWu ZHENG ZhiGang ZENG DeChang YU HongYa QIU WanQi 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,6:3
12Material exploration via designing spatial arrangement of octahedral units: a case study of lead halide perovskites显示文摘Halide perovskites have attracted tremendous attention as semiconducting materials for various optoelectronic applications.The functional metal-halide octahedral units and their spatial arrangements play a key role in the optoelectronic properties of these materials.At present,most of the efforts for material exploration focus on substituting the constituent elements of functional octahedral units,whereas designing the spatial arrangement of the functional units has received relatively little consideration.In this work,via a global structure search based on density functional theory(DFT),we discovered a metastable three-dimensional honeycomb-like perovskite structure with the functional octahedral units arranged through mixed edge-and comer-sharing.We experimentally confirmed that the honeycomb-like perovskite structure can be stabilized by divalent molecular cations with suitable size and shape,such as 2,2’-bisimidazole(BIM).DFT calculations and experimental characterizations revealed that the honeycomb-like perovskite with the formula of BIMPb2l6,synthesized through a solution process,exhibits high electronic dimensionality,a direct allowed bandgap of 2.1 eV,small effective masses for both electrons and holes,and high optical absorption coefficients,which indicates a significant potential for optoelectronic applications.The employed combination of DFT and experimental study provides an exemplary approach to explore prospective optoelectronic semiconductors via spatially arranging functional units.Pengfei FU Sanlue HU Jiang TANG Zewen XIAO 2021Frontiers of Optoelectronics2021,14,2:3
13Design and simulation of digital channelized receivers in fractional Fourier domain显示文摘An approach is proposed to realize a digital channelized receiver in the fractional Fourier domain(FRFD) for signal intercept applications.The presented architecture can be considered as a generalization of that in the traditional Fourier domain.Since the linear frequency modulation(LFM) signal has a good energy concentration in the FRFD,by choosing an appropriate fractional Fourier transform(FRFT) order,the presented architecture can concentrate the broadband LFM signal into only one sub-channel and that will prevent it from crossing several sub-channels.Thus the performance of the signal detection and parameter estimation after the sub-channel output will be improved significantly. 14Corrosion engineering boosting bulk Fe_(50)Mn_(30)Co_(10)Cr_(10)high-entropy alloy as high-efficient alkaline oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyst显示文摘Oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is a critical process in electrocatalytic water splitting.However,the development of low-cost,highly efficient OER electrocatalysts by a simple method that can be used for industrial application on a large scale is still a huge challenge.Recently,high entropy alloy(HEA)has acquired extensive attention,which may provide answers to the current dilemma.Here,we report bulk Fe_(50)Mn_(30)Co_(10)Cr_(10),which is prepared by 3D printing on a large scale,as electrocatalyst for OER with high catalytic performance.Especially,an easy approach,corrosion engineering,is adopted for the first time to build an active layer of honeycomb nanostructures on its surface,leading to ultrahigh OER performance with an overpotential of 247 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2),a low Tafel slope of 63 mV dec^(-1),and excellent stability up to 60 h at 100 mA cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH.The excellent catalytic activity mainly originates from:(1)the binder-free self-supported honeycomb nanostructures and multi-component hydroxides,which improve intrinsic catalytic activity,provide rich active sites,and reduce interfacial resistance;and(2)the diverse valence states for multiple active sites to enhance the OER kinetics.Our findings show that corrosion engineering is a novel strategy to improve the bulk HEA catalytic performance.We expect that this work would open up a new avenue to fabricate large-scale HEA electrocatalysts by 3D printing and corrosion engineering for industrial applications.Pengfei Zhou Dong Liu Yuyun Chen Mingpeng Chen Yunxiao Liu Shi Chen Chi Tat Kwok Yuxin Tang Shuangpeng Wang Hui Pan 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,14:3
