| 1 | Quantitative response of oil sunflower yield to evapotranspiration and soil salinity with saline water irrigation显示文摘Appropriate application of water-salt-crop function model can optimize agricultural water management in regions with declining water supply,such as the Hetao district.Appropriate use of saline water is also based on the effects of irrigation water demand and water quality on crop growth quantitatively.Therefore,oil sunflower growth testing under both water and salt stress was completed from 2013 to 2014.Water salinity levels at 1.7 ds/m,4 ds/m,6 ds/m and 8 ds/m were used in the experiments.Two water deficit levels were reported,60%and 80%of the irrigation quota,which were considered moderate and mild deficit levels,respectively.All treatments were applied in planting the oil sunflower in critical growing periods,namely,floral initiation,anthesis and maturity.Linear,Cobb-Douglas,quadratic and transcendental function models were used to simulate the relative yield,evapotranspiration(ET)and electrical conductivity(EC).The predictive ability and sensitivity of each model were then evaluated.Compared with salt stress,water stress exerted a more significant effect on the oil sunflower yield;the water parameters(a1 and a3)were most sensitive in the water-salt-crop function model.Oil sunflower was most sensitive to water and salt stress during anthesis.The transcendental function generally showed a relatively high sensitivity coefficient and a relatively small statistical error.Therefore,the transcendental function is the most appropriate model for simulating and predicting the yield of oil sunflower irrigated with saline water.Applying the water-salt-crop function model in planting of oil sunflower can help in the development and utilization of saline water in the Hetao district. | He Xin Yang Peiling Ren Shumei Li Yunkai Jiang Guangyu Li Lianhao | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,2: | 4 |
| 2 | Biofilm structure and its influence on clogging in drip irrigation emitters distributing reclaimed wastewater显示文摘Using reclaimed wastewater for crop irrigation is a practical alternative to discharge wastewater treatment plant effluents into surface waters.However,biofouling has been identified as a major contributor to emitter clogging in drip irrigation systems distributing reclaimed wastewater.Little is known about the biofilm structure and its influence on clogging in the drip emitter flow path.This study was first to investigate the microbial characteristics of mature biofilms present in the emitters and the effect of flow path structures on the biofilm microbial communities.The analysis of biofilm matrix structure using a scanning electron microscopy(SEM) revealed that particles in the matrix of the biofilm coupled extracellular polysaccharides(EPS) and formed sediment in the emitter flow path.Analysis of biofilm mass including protein,polysaccharide,and phospholipid fatty acids(PLFAs) showed that emitter flow path style influenced biofilm community structure and diversity.The correlations of biofilm biomass and discharge reduction after 360 h irrigation were computed and suggest that PFLAs provide the best correlation coeffcient.Comparatively,the emitter with the unsymmetrical dentate structure and shorter flow path(Emitter C) had the best anti-clogging capability.By optimizing the dentate structure,the internal flow pattern within the flow path could be enhanced as an important method to control the biofilm within emitter flow path.This study established electron microscope techniques and biochemical microbial analysis methods that may provide a framework for future emitter biofilm studies. | YAN Dazhuang BAI Zhihui Mike Rowan GU Likun Ren Shumei YANG Peiling | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,6: | 4 |
| 3 | Effects of continuous and pulse irrigation with different nitrogen applications on soil moisture,nitrogen transport and accumulation in root systems显示文摘Pulse and continuous irrigation can affect water distribution in the soil,thereby affecting the growth and distribution of root systems.Different base and topdressing fertilizers can affect nitrogen transport in the soil and root distribution,thus affecting root water and nitrogen uptake.This study used pot experiments to set up four different nitrogen levels,including two different irrigation methods,to research the effects of soil moisture,nitrogen transport,nitrogen accumulation and root systems under the conditions of continuous and pulse irrigation,as well as different nitrogen applications.Result showed that continuous irrigation can increase the moisture content around the drip emitter position and reduce the soil moisture content in the horizontal spreading compared with pulse irrigation,especially reducing the horizontal spreading in the deep soil layers.One treatment in this study did not apply base fertilizer,and then supply topdressing fertilizer at a ratio of 2:4:4 in the seedling stage,jointing stage and tasseling stage,respectively.This treatment is beneficial for improving nitrogen utilization efficiency.Furthermore,this treatment can increase the root length density and root surface area in the deep soil layers,especially in the 20-35 cm soil depth,and to some extent increase the deep growth of the root system. | Lingmiao Huang Peiling Yang Shumei Ren Haobo Cui | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,5: | 2 |
