| 3 | Experimental Study of the Adsorption-Induced Coal Matrix Swelling and Its Impact on ECBM显示文摘Carbon dioxide(CO_2) enhanced coalbed methane(ECBM) is an effective method to improve methane(CH_4) production and this technology has already been used to increase gas production in several field trials worldwide. One major problem is the injection drop in the later period due to permeability decrease caused by coal matrix swelling induced by CO_2 injection. In order to quantify the swelling effect, in this work, coal samples were collected from the Bulli coal seam, Sydney Basin and adsorption tests with simultaneous matrix swelling measurement were conducted. The adsorption and swelling characteristics were analyzed by measuring the adsorption mass simultaneously with the strain measurement. Then experiments were conducted to replicate the ECBM process using the indirect gravity method to obtain the swelling strain change with CO_2 injection. The results show that the coal adsorption capacity in CO_2 is almost two times greater than that in CH_4, and nitrogen adsorption is the least among these gases. A Langmuir-like model can be used to describe the strain with the gas pressure and the swelling strain induced by gas adsorption has a linear relationship with gas adsorption quantity. | 4 | Computer-Aided Design of Some Advanced Steels and Cemented Carbides显示文摘Thermodynamic and kinetic study on TRIP (transformation induced plasticity) steels, cemented carbides and mold steel for plastics were carried out in order to design modern advanced materials. With the sublattice model, equilibrium compositions of ferrite and austenite phases in TRIP steels, as well as volume fraction of austenite at inter-critical temperatures for different time were calculated. Concentration profiles of carbon, manganese, aluminum and silicon in the steels were also estimated in the lattice fixed frame of reference. The effect of Si and Mn on TRIP was discussed according to thermodynamic and kinetic analyses. In order to understand and produce the graded nanophase structure of cemented carbides, miscellaneous phases in the M-Co-C (M=Ti, Ta, Nb) systems and Co-V-C system were modeled. Solution parameters and thermodynamic properties were listed in detail. The improvement of machining behavior of prehardened mould steel for plastics was obtained by computer-aided composition design. The results showed that the matrix composition of large-section prehardened mould steel for plastic markedly influences the precipitation of non-metallic inclusion and the composition control by the aid of Thermo-Calc software package minimizes the amount of detrimental oxide inclusion. | 6 | VcRR2 regulates chilling-mediated flowering through expression of hormone genes in a transgenic blueberry mutant显示文摘The molecular mechanism underlying dormancy release and the induction of flowering remains poorly understood in woody plants.Mu-legacy is a valuable blueberry mutant,in which a transgene insertion caused increased expression of a RESPONSE REGULATOR 2-like gene(VcRR2).Mu-legacy plants,compared with nontransgenic‘Legacy’plants,show dwarfing,promotion of flower bud formation,and can flower under nonchilling conditions.We conducted transcriptomic comparisons in leaves,chilled and nonchilled flowering buds,and late-pink buds,and analyzed a total of 41 metabolites of six groups of hormones in leaf tissues of both Mu-legacy and‘Legacy’plants.These analyses uncovered that increased VcRR2 expression promotes the expression of a homolog of Arabidopsis thaliana ENTCOPALYL DIPHOSPHATE SYNTHETASE 1(VcGA1),which induces new homeostasis of hormones,including increased gibberellin 4(GA4)levels in Mu-legacy leaves.Consequently,increased expression of VcRR2 and VcGA1,which function in cytokinin responses and gibberellin synthesis,respectively,initiated the reduction in plant height and the enhancement of flower bud formation of the Mu-legacy plants through interactions of multiple approaches.In nonchilled flower buds,29 differentially expressed transcripts of 17 genes of five groups of hormones were identified in transcriptome comparisons between Mu-legacy and‘Legacy’plants,of which 22 were chilling responsive.Thus,these analyses suggest that increased expression of VcRR2 was collectively responsible for promoting flower bud formation in highbush blueberry under nonchilling conditions.We report here for the first time the importance of VcRR2 to induce a suite of downstream hormones that promote flowering in woody plants. | Tianyi Lin Aaron Walworth Xiaojuan Zong Gharbia H.Danial Elise M.Tomaszewski Pete Callow Xiumei Han L.Irina Zaharia Patrick P.Edger Gan-yuan Zhong Guo-qing Song | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 2 |

| 13 | The impact of endoscopic sinus surgery and aspirin desensitization on psychological burden in aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease显示文摘Background:Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease(AERD)is an aggressive inflammatory disorder of the upper and lower respiratory tract.Corticosteroids,leukotriene modifiers,endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS),aspirin(ASA)desensitization,and biological immu-nomodulators are currently used to treat the disorder.Objective:The objective of this study was to determine the psychosocial impact of ESS and ASA desensitization on AERD patients.Methods:All AERD patients who underwent complete ESS were divided into two cohorts based on ASA desensitization status.The psychosocial metrics of the SNOT-22 were collected and analyzed at the following time points:pre-operative,1-month,3-month,6-month,and 12-month after ESS.Results:One hundred and eighty-four AERD patients underwent ESS from November 2009 to November 2018.From this group,130 patients underwent ASA desensitization(AD cohort)and 54 patients remained non-desensitized(ND cohort).AD patients showed a significantly greater reduction in total SNOT-22 scores over the study period compared to ND patients(p=0.0446).Analysis of SNOT-22 psychosocial metrics showed a significantly greater improvement in patient productivity in the AD cohort when compared to the ND cohort(p=0.0214).Further,a sub-group analysis accounting for subject attrition showed a significantly greater improvement in both productivity and concentration in AD patients when compared to the ND cohort(productivity:p=0.0068;concentration:p=0.0428).Conclusions:ESS followed by ASA desensitization decreases the overall psychosocial burden in AERD patients with a significant improvement in perceived productivity and concentration.This has significant implications given the psychosocial impact of chronic diseases. | Tran Locke Auddie Sweis Theodore Lin Brian Sweis Patrick Gleeson Michael Kohanski Nithin Adappa James Palmer John Bosso | 2020 | World Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery2020,6,4: | 1 |
