Improving methane storage on wet activated carbons at various amounts of water显示文摘Different mesoporous activated carbons were prepared by both chemical and physical activation processes and were examined for methane uptake in the presence of water.Methane isotherms were obtained at wet condition by wetting samples with water at mass ratio of water/carbon(R) close to 1.0.To compare, the amount of methane storage were also measured at dry situation. The maximum amount of methane stored was attained as 237 V/V at R=1.0 by hydrate formation at the methane critical pressure. In the next step, mass ratios of water/carbon were changed to investigate various amount of water for methane storage enhancement. Two other values of mass ratio of water/carbon(R=0.8 and 1.4) were selected and methane isotherms were obtained at the same conditions.Maximum values of 210 and 248 V/V were reached for methane storage, respectively. It was also observed that,in the pressure range lower than hydrate pressure,by increasing water ratio the hydrate formation pressure was decreased and methane uptake was much less than that of dry condition due to pore filling by water.MOHAMMAD JABER DARABI MAHBOUB ALI AHMADPOUR HAMED RASHIDI 2012燃料化学学报2012,40,4:7
Hydrocarbon Vertical Continuity Evaluation in the Cretaceous Reservoirs of Azadegan Oilfield, Southwest of Iran: Implications for Reservoir Geochemistry显示文摘A collection of data obtained from analytical methods in geochemistry along with the reservoir engineering and geologic data were used to investigate the reservoir continuity in the Cretaceous Fahliyan, Gadavan, Kazhdumi and Sarvak reservoirs of the super-giant Azadegan oilfield, SW Iran. The geochemical data indicate that the oil samples, with medium to high level of thermal maturity, have been generated from the anoxic marine marl/carbonate source rock(s). The Sargelu(Jurassic) and Garau(Cretaceous) formations are introduced as the main source rocks for the studied oils. The dendrogram obtained from the cluster analysis of high-resolution gas chromatography data introduces two main oil groups including Fahliyan reservoir, and Kazhdumi along with Sarvak/Gadvan reservoirs. This is confirmed by C7 Halpern star diagram, indicating that, the light oil fraction from Fahliyan reservoir is distinct from the others. Also, different pressure gradient of the Fahliyan Formation(over-pressured) relative to other reservoirs(normally-pressured) show the presence of compartments. The relation between toluene/n-heptane and n-heptane/methylcyclohexane represents the compartmentalization due to maturation/evaporative fractionation for Fahliyan and water washing for other studied reservoirs. Also, the impermeable upper part of the Fahliyan Formation and thin interbedded shaly layers in the Kazhdumi, Sarvak and Gadvan formations have controlled reservoir compartmentalization.Bahram ALIZADEH Mehrab RASHIDI Alireza ZARASVANDI Seyed Rasoul SEYEDALI Mohammad Hasan ALIEE 2020Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2020,94,3:2

Evaluation of behaviors of earth and rockfill dams during construction and initial impounding using instrumentation data and numerical modeling显示文摘In this study, the behavior of Gavoshan dam was evaluated during construction and the first impounding.A two-dimensional(2D) numerical analysis was conducted based on a finite difference method on the largest cross-section of the dam using the results of instrument measurements and back analysis. These evaluations will be completed in the case that back analysis is carried out in order to control the degree of the accuracy and the level of confidence of the measured behavior since each of the measurements could be controlled by comparing it to the result obtained from the numerical model.Following that,by comparing the results of the numerical analysis with the measured values,it is indicated that there is a proper consistency between these two values. Moreover,it was observed that the dam performance was suitable regarding the induced pore water pressure, the pore water pressure ratio r_u,settlement,induced stresses, arching degree, and hydraulic fracturing probability during the construction and initial impounding periods. The results demonstrated that the maximum settlement of the core was 238 cm at the end of construction. In the following 6 years after construction(initial impounding and exploitation period),the accumulative settlement of the dam was 270 cm.It is clear that 88% of the total settlement of the dam took place during dam construction. The reason is that the clay core was smashed in the wet side,i.e.the optimum moisture content.Whereas the average curving ratio was 0.64 during dam construction; at the end of the initial impounding, the maximum amount of curving ratio in the upstream was 0.81,and the minimum(critical) amount in the downstream was 0.52.It was also concluded that this dam is safe in comparison with the behaviors of other similar dams in the world.Mohammad Rashidi S. 7Genetic algorithm application for matching ordinary black oil PVT data显示文摘In the study of reservoirs, it is vital that we have a realistic physical model of the reservoir fluid that accurately describes the hydrocarbon system and its properties. The available equations of state (EOS) to model the fluid phase behavior have some inherent deficiencies that may cause erroneous predictions for real reservoir fluids, so these models should be tuned against experimental data by adjusting some parameters. Since there are many matching parameters, tuning the EOS against experimental data is a tedious and difficult work. In this study, a genetic algorithm as an optimization technique is used to solve this regression problem. This study presents a new method that uses a specially designed genetic algorithm to search for suitable regression parameters to match the EOS against measured data. The proposed method has been tested on three real black oil samples. The results show the surprising performance of the developed genetic algorithm to match the experimental data of the selected fluid samples. The main advantage of the used method is its high speed in finding a solution. Also, finding more than one solution, working automatically, confining the role of experts to the last stage, reducing costs and having the possibility of evaluating the different situations are the other advantages of this method to match ordinary black oil PVT data and makes it an ideal method to implement as an automatic EOS tuning algorithm for black oils.Mohammad Taghizadeh Sarvestani Behnam Sedaee Sola Fariborz Rashidi 2012Petroleum Science2012,9,2:1
Inverted organic solar cells with solvothermal synthesized vanadium-doped TiO2 thin films as efficient electron transport layer显示文摘We investigated the effects of using different thicknesses of pure and vanadium-doped thin films of TiO_2 as the electron transport layer in the inverted configuration of organic photovoltaic cells based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) P3HT:[6-6] phenyl-(6) butyric acid methyl ester(PCBM). 1% vanadium-doped TiO_2nanoparticles were synthesized via the solvothermal method. Crystalline structure, morphology, and optical properties of pure and vanadium-doped TiO_2 thin films were studied by different techniques such as x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmittance electron microscopy, and UV–visible transmission spectrum. The doctor blade method which is compatible with roll-2-roll printing was used for deposition of pure and vanadium-doped TiO_2 thin films with thicknesses of 30 nm and 60 nm. The final results revealed that the best thickness of TiO_2 thin films for our fabricated cells was 30 nm. The cell with vanadium-doped TiO_2 thin film showed slightly higher power conversion efficiency and great J_(sc) of 10.7 mA/cm^2 compared with its pure counterpart. In the cells using 60 nm pure and vanadium-doped TiO_2 layers, the cell using the doped layer showed much higher efficiency. It is remarkable that the external quantum efficiency of vanadium-doped TiO_2 thin film was better in all wavelengths.Mehdi Ahmadi Sajjad Rashidi Dafeh Samaneh Ghazanfarpour Mohammad Khanzadeh 2017Chinese Physics B2017,26,9:1

Real-world and bottom-up methodology for emission inventory development and scenario design in medium-sized cities显示文摘Efficient management of air quality requires a comprehensive emission inventory to support decision-making on air quality improvement. This article presents a comprehensive framework for detailed emission inventory development in cities with low-quality basic data, which examines the emission of primary criteria pollutants(CO,NO_(x),SO_(2),PM_(2.5),PM_(10),and VOC)from mobile sources, residential, commercial, and public services, fuel stations, transport terminals, energy conversion sections, and industries. This research was applied to Tabriz in Northwest Iran, one of the polluted medium-sized cities with a population of 1.77 million. Results show the city daily emission per capita is 569.8 g of CO,68.6 g of NO_(x),38.6 g of VOC,17.6 g of SO_(x),and 3.7 g of PM.Vehicular emissions accounted for 98%of CO,91%of VOCs,61%of NO_(x),and 56%of PM;meaning alternative policy strategies in vehicles would reduce emissions rapidly.Fifteen applicable and effective scenarios in transport and one concerning stationary sourceswere proposed and reduction potential of themwas evaluated.Effectiveness of the public transport improvement and replacement of old passenger cars were founded the key scenarios. These two alternatives decrease 14 and 2 tons of SO_(2) and 6797 and 2394 tons of NO_(x) annually with the cost of$99.5 MM and$366.5 MM,respectively. The findings of this study provides the choice of travel method by each citizen is a function of cost, speed, comfort and safety of travel;therefore, all the requirements of any scenarios must be fully considered in the implementation step.Leila Khazini Mina Jamshidi Kalajahi Yousef Rashidi Seyed Mohammad Mahdi Mirzaei Ghomi 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5:0

Tectonic paleostress field and its impact on the geodynamic evolution of Central Iran, case study: the Shotori Mountain显示文摘The Shotori mountain range is located along the northern terminus of the Nayband fault on the eastern and western domains of the Tabas and Lut blocks, respectively. This range with NNW-SSE trending and approximately 120 km long includes a series of thrust faults approaching the right-lateral strike-slip Nayband fault.Since the Shotori range has experienced various geological events since the Triassic, our investigations suggest that the basement of the Central Iranian subcontinent of the Shotori range contains the early Triassic deep sedimentary with normal faults which confirms Triassic tensional tectonic stress regime in the region. After the middle Triassic, the mountain range has experienced thrust and strike-slip regimes. Therefore,in this study,we reconstruct the stress regimes for different geological periods using fault-slip data. The inversion of faultslip data reveals drastic temporal changes in the maximum stress regime(σ1)over the Triassic,Jurassic,Cretaceous,Paleogene,Neogen, and Quaternary. The reconstruction of the stress field based on the age and direction of fault movement reveals that the direction of the maximum horizontal stress axis(σ1)under a tensional stress regime was approximately N129°in the Early Triassic. This stress regime is the cause of thinning and subsidence of the Shotori sedimentary basin.During the middle Triassic,theσ1 direction was about N81°and the upper Triassic,theσ1 direction was almost N115°.The middle Triassic and upper Triassic stress states exhibited two distinct strike-slip and compressive stress regimes. This stress regime led to the uplift of the Shotori sedimentary basin.During the Jurassic, the direction of the maximum horizontal stress axis(σ1)was~NW-SE under a compressive stress regime.During the Triassic,theσ1 direction was~N-S.This stress regime led to the formation of the high topography of the Shotori Mountain Range. In the Late Cretaceous, the direction of the maximum horizontal stress axis(σ1)under the extensional stress regime was~NE-SW.This stress regime led to the uplift of the Paleogen Dacite in eastern Iran.During the Neogene,theσ1 direction was~N60°.The Quaternary tectonic regime is strike-slip and theσ1 direction is~N50°,consistent with the current convergence direction of the Arabia–Eurasia plates. Our paleostress analysis reveals four recognized stress in this area, which includes compressional, transtensional, transpressional, and strike-slip regimes. Our findings indicated that the crustal diversity of the tectonic regimes was responsible for the formation of various geological structures, such as folds, faults by different mechanisms, and the present-day configuration of the Shotori sedimentary basin.Razieh ABBASPOUR Seyed Morteza MOUSAVI Ahmad RASHIDI Mohammad Mahdi KHATIB Shahram SHAFIEIBAFTI 2023Journal of Mountain Science2023,20,10:0
Nanoporous carbons as promising novel methane adsorbents for natural gas technology显示文摘Nanoporous carbons were synthesized using furfuryl alcohol and sucrose as precursors and MCM-41 and mordenite as nanoporous templates. The produced nanoporous carbons were used as adsorbent for methane storage. The average pore diameter of the samples varied from 3.9 nm to 5.9 nm and the BET surface area varied from 320m2/g to 824m2/g.The volumetric adsorption experiments revealed that MCM-41 and sucrose had better performance compared with mordenite and furfuryl alcohol, correspondingly. Also, the effect of precursor to template ratio on the structure of nanoporous carbons and their adsorption capacities was investigated. The nanoporous carbon produced from MCM-41 mesoporous molecular sieve partially filled by sucrose shows the best methane adsorption capacity among the tested samples.Ali Morad Rashidi Roghaye Lotfi Amideddin Nouralishahi Mohammad Ali Khodagholi Masoud Zare Faeghe Eslamipour 2011Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2011,20,6:0

A Galvanostatic Modeling for Preparation of Electrodeposited Nanocrystalline Coatings by Control of Current Density显示文摘The correlation between the grain size of electrodeposited coatings and the current densities was modeled by considering galvanostatic conditions. In order to test the model by experimental results, nanocrystalline (NC) nickel samples were deposited at different current densities using a Watts bath. The grain size of the deposits was evaluated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. Model predictions were validated by finding a curve being the best-fit to the experimental results which were gathered from literature for different NC coatings in addition to those data measured in this research for NC nickel coatings. According to our model, the variation of grain size with the reciprocal of the current density follows a power law. A good agreement between the experimental results and model predictions was observed which indicated that the derived analytical model is applicable for producting the nanocrystalline electrodeposits with the desired grain size by controling current density.Ali Mohammad Rashidi 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,12:0
A new robust predictive model for lost circulation rate using convolutional neural network:A case study from Marun Oilfield显示文摘A major cause of some of serious issues encountered in a drilling project, including wellbore instability, formation damage, and drilling string stuck e which are known to increase non-productive time(NPT)and hence the drilling cost e is what we know as mud loss. The mud loss can be prevented or at least significantly reduced by taking proper measures beforehand provided the position and intensity of such loss can be properly predicted using an accurate predictor model.Accordingly,in this study,we used the convolutional neural network(CNN)and hybridized forms of multilayer extreme learning machine(MELM)and least square support vector machine(LSSVM)with the Cuckoo optimization algorithm(COA),particle swarm optimization(PSO),and genetic algorithm(GA)for modeling the mud loss rate based on drilling data, mud properties, and geological information of 305 drilling wells penetrating the Marun Oilfield. For this purpose,we began by a pre-processing step to attenuate the effect of noise using the Savitzky-Golay method. The whole set of available data was divided into the modeling(including 2300 data points)and the validation(including 483 data points)subsets.Next, the second generation of the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm(NSGA-Ⅱ)was applied to the modeling data to identify the most significant features for estimating the mud loss. The results showed that the prediction accuracy increased with the number of selected features, but the increase became negligible when the number of selected features exceeded 9.Accordingly,the following 9 features were selected as input to the intelligent algorithms(IAs):pump pressure, mud weight, fracture pressure, pore pressure, depth, gel 10 min/gel 10 s,fan 600/fan 300,flowrate,and formation type.Application of the hybrid algorithms and simple forms of LSSVM and CNN to the training data(80%of the modeling data,i.e.1840 data points)showed that all of the models tend to underestimate the mud loss at higher mud loss rates, although the CNN exhibited lower underestimation levels.Error analysis on different models showed that the CNN provided for a significantly higher degree of accuracy,as compared to other models. The more accurate outputs of the hybrid LSSVM model than those of the simple LSSVM indicated the large potentials of metaheuristic algorithms for achieving optimal solutions. The lower error levels obtained with the CNN model in the testing phase highlighted the excellent generalizability of this model for unseen data. The more accurate predictions obtained with this model, rather than the other models,in the validation phase further proved this latter finding. Therefore, application of this method to other wells in the same field is highly recommended.Farshad Jafarizadeh Babak Larki Bamdad Kazemi Mohammad Mehrad Sina Rashidi Jalil Ghavidel Neycharan Mehdi Gandomgoun Mohammad Hossein Gandomgoun 2023Petroleum2023,9,3:0
