1Influence of Atmospheric Particulate Matter on Ozone in Nanjing,China:Observational Study and Mechanistic Analysis显示文摘Particulate matter with diameters of 2.5 μm or smaller(PM_(2.5)) and ozone(O_3) are major pollutants in the urban atmosphere. PM_(2.5) can affect O_3 by altering the photolysis rate and heterogeneous reactions. However, these two processes and their relative importance remain uncertain. In this paper, with Nanjing in China as the target city, we investigate the characteristics and mechanism of interactions between particles and O_3 based on ground observations and numerical modeling.In 2008, the average concentrations of PM_(2.5) and O_3 at Caochangmen station are 64.6 ± 47.4 μg m^(-3) and 24.6 ± 22.8 ppb,respectively, while at Pukou station they are 94.1 ± 63.4 μg m^(-3) and 16.9 ± 14.9 ppb. The correlation coefficient between PM_(2.5) and O_3 is -0.46. In order to understand the reaction between PM_(2.5) and O_3, we construct a box model, in which an aerosol optical property model, ultraviolet radiation model, gas phase chemistry model, and heterogeneous chemistry model,are coupled. The model is employed to investigate the relative contribution of the aforementioned two processes, which vary under different particle concentrations, scattering capability and VOCs/NOxratios(VOCs: volatile organic compounds;NOx: nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide). Generally, photolysis rate effect can cause a greater O_3 reduction when the particle concentrations are higher, while heterogeneous reactions dominate O_3 reduction with low-level particle concentrations.Moreover, in typical VOC-sensitive regions, O_3 can even be increased by heterogeneous reactions. In Nanjing, both processes lead to O_3 reduction, and photolysis rate effect is dominant. 2Isolation,characterization,and phylogenic analysis of three new severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome bunyavirus strains derived from Hubei Province,China显示文摘Hubei Province is a major epidemic area of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome bunyavirus(SFTSV) in China. However, to date, a few SFTSV strains have been isolated from Hubei Province, preventing effective studies of epidemic outbreaks. Here, we report three confirmed patients(2015–2016) with typical symptoms of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome disease(SFTS) who were farmers resident in different regions in Hubei Province. Three new SFTSV strains were isolated from the serum samples of each patient. Characterization of viral growth properties showed that there were no significant differences in virus production. All strains were completely sequenced, and phylogenetic analysis showed that unlike the other strains from Hubei province, which belonged to the SFTSV C3 genotype, one of the three strains belonged to the SFTSV C2 genotype. 3Counteraction of ABA-Mediated Inhibition of Seed Germination and Seedling Establishment by ABA Signaling Terminator in Arabidopsis显示文摘Seed germination and seedling establishment are important for the reproductive success of plants,but seeds and seedlings typically encounter constantly changing environmental conditions.By inhibiting seed germination and post-germinative growth through the PYR1/PYL/RCAR ABA receptors and PP2C co-receptors,the phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)prevents premature germination and seedling growth under unfavorable conditions.However,little is known about how the ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and seedling establishment is thwarted.Here,we report that ABA Signaling Terminator(ABT),a WD40 protein,efficiently switches off ABA signaling and is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment.ABT is induced by ABA in a PYR1/PYL/RCAR-PP2C-dependent manner.Overexpression of ABT promotes seed germination and seedling greening in the presence of ABA,whereas knockout of ABT has the opposite effect.We found that ABT interacts with the PYR1/PYL/RCAR and PP2C proteins,interferes with the interaction between PYR1/PYL4 and ABI1/ABI2,and hampers the inhibition of ABI1/ABI2 by ABA-bound PYR1/PYL4,thereby terminating ABA signaling.Taken together,our results reveal a core mechanism of ABA signaling termination that is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment in Arabidopsis.Zhijuan Wang Ziyin Ren Chunhong Cheng Tao Wang Hongtao Ji Yang Zhao Zhiping Deng Liya Zhi Jingjing Lu Xinying Wu Shimin Xu Mengmeng Cao Hongtao Zhao Liu Liu Jiankang Zhu Xia Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:10
4Ni@N-doped graphene nanosheets and CNTs hybrids modified separator as efficient polysulfide barrier for high-performance lithium sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs) have been regarded as one of the most promising energy storage systems to break through the upper limit of lithium-ion batteries.However,the rampant diffusions of soluble lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) in the electrolyte induced the shuttle effect between anode and cathode,resulting in low sulfur utilization,low energy efficiency and short cycling life.Herein,we prove the rational design and construction of Ni nanoparticles filled in vertically grown N-doped bamboo-like carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on graphene nanosheets (Ni@NG-CNTs) as efficient polysulfide barrier for high-performance LSBs.The unique design integrates graphene nanosheets and CNTs into hierarchical architectures with one-dimensional (1D) CNTs,two-dimensional (2D) ultrethin nanosheets and abundant carbon nanocages.This design provides large surface area for lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) adsorption,accelerates electron transport and enhances electrochemical redox of LiPSs.Benefiting from the unique structural features,the LSBs with the Ni@NG-CNTs as polysulfide barrier keep high reversible specific capacities of 309.1 and 265.0 mAh·g-1 at 5 and 10 C rates after 500 cycles.This work provides a new strategy for constructing self-assembled hybrids of CNTs and graphene nanosheets with abundant carbon nanocages for high-performance LSBs.Xintao Zuo Mengmeng Zhen Cheng Wang 2019Nano Research2019,12,4:8
5Comparison of the inhibition potentials of icotinib and erlotinib against human UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1显示文摘UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1(UGT1A1) plays a key role in detoxification of many potentially harmful compounds and drugs. UGT1A1 inhibition may bring risks of drug–drug interactions(DDIs), hyperbilirubinemia and drug-induced liver injury. This study aimed to investigate and compare the inhibitory effects of icotinib and erlotinib against UGT1A1, as well as to evaluate their potential DDI risks via UGT1A1 inhibition. The results demonstrated that both icotinib and erlotinib are UGT1A1 inhibitors, but the inhibitory effect of icotinib on UGT1A1 is weaker than that of erlotinib. The IC_(50) values of icotinib and erlotinib against UGT1A1-mediated NCHN-O-glucuronidation in human liver microsomes(HLMs) were 5.15 and 0.68 μmol/L, respectively. Inhibition kinetic analyses demonstrated that both icotinib and erlotinib were non-competitive inhibitors against UGT1A1-mediated glucuronidation of NCHN in HLMs, with the Kivalues of 8.55 and 1.23 μmol/L, respectively. Furthermore, their potential DDI risks via UGT1A1 inhibition were quantitatively predicted by the ratio of the areas under the concentration–time curve(AUC) of NCHN. 8Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). 9Microcavity top-emission perovskite light-emitting diodes显示文摘Light-emitting diodes(LEDs)based on perovskites show great potential in lighting and display applications.However,although perovskite films with high photoluminescence quantum efficiencies are commonly achieved,the efficiencies of perovskite LEDs are largely limited by the low light out-coupling efficiency.Here,we show that high-efficiency perovskite LEDs with a high external quantum efficiency of 20.2% and an ultrahigh radiant exitance up to 114.9mWcm^(−2) can be achieved by employing the microcavity effect to enhance light extraction.The enhanced microcavity effect and light outcoupling efficiency are confirmed by the study of angle-dependent emission profiles.Our results show that both the optical and electrical properties of the device need to be optimized to achieve high-performance perovskite LEDs.Yanfeng Miao Lu Cheng Wei Zou Lianghui Gu Ju Zhang Qiang Guo Qiming Peng Mengmeng Xu Yarong He Shuting Zhang Yu Cao Renzhi Li Nana Wang Wei Huang Jianpu Wang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4
10Synergistic impact of cocatalysts and hole scavenger for promoted photocatalytic H2 evolution in mesoporous TiO2–NiSx hybrid显示文摘Photocatalytic solar energy conversion to hydrogen is sustainable and attractive for addressing the global energy and environmental issue. Herein, a novel photocatalytic system (NiS/Ni3S4 cocatalysts modified mesoporous TiO2) with superior photocatalytic hydrogen evolution capability through the synergistic impact of NiS/Ni3S4 (NiSx) cocatalyst and efficient hole scavenger has been demonstrated. The photocatalytic hydrogen evolution of TiO2-NiSx hybrids with the different content of NiSx and upon different organic hole scavengers was both investigated. The hybrid of TiO2 decorated with 3%(mole ratio of Ni^2+) NiSx cocatalyst in methanol solution showed the optimal photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate of 981.59 μmol h^-1 g^-1 which was about 20 times higher than that of bare mesoporous TiO2. 11CLE14 functions as a 'brake signal' to suppress age-dependent and stress-induced leaf senescence by promoting JUB1-mediated ROS scavenging in Arabidopsis显示文摘Leaf senescence is an important developmental process in the plant life cycle and has a significant impact on agriculture.When facing harsh environmental conditions,monocarpic plants often initiate early leaf senes-cence as an adaptive mechanism to ensure a complete life cycle.Upon initiation,the senescence process is fine-tuned through the coordination of both positive and negative regulators.Here,we report that the small secreted peptide CLAVATA3/ESR-RELATED 14(CLE14)functions in the suppression of leaf senescence by regulating ROS homeostasis in Arabidopsis.Expression of the CLE14-encoding gene in leaves was signifi-cantly induced by age,high salinity,abscisic acid(ABA),salicylic acid,and jasmonic acid.CLE14 knockout plants displayed accelerated progression of both natural and salinity-induced leaf senescence,whereas increased CLE14 expression or treatments with synthetic CLE14 peptides delayed senescence.CLE14 pep-tide treatments also delayed ABA-induced senescence in detached leaves.Further analysis showed that over-expression of CLE14 led to reduced.ROS levels in leaves,where higher expression of ROS scavenging genes was detected.Moreover,CLE14 signaling resulted in transcriptional activation of JUB1,a NAC family tran-scription factor previously identified as a negative regulator of senescence.Notably,the delay of leaf senes-cence,reduction in H202 level,and activation of ROS scavenging genes by CLE14 peptides were dependent on JUB1.Collectively,these results suggest that the small peptide CLE14 serves as a novel'brake signal'to regulate age-dependent and stress-induced leaf senescence through JUB1-mediated ROS scavenging.Zenglin Zhang Cheng Liu Kui Li Xiaoxu Li Mengmeng Xu Yongfeng Guo 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,1:3
12An integrated cathode with bi-functional catalytic effect for excellent-performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘The high energy density of lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs) is mainly based on the complex redox reactions and phase conversions.The sluggish redox kinetics and the large accumulation of soluble polysulfides in the electrolyte leads to low sulfur utilization and serious shuttle effect.Herein,an integrated sulfur cathode is constructed through a facile and large-scale method.It is composed of sulfur-N,S doped bamboo like CNTs@Co3S4 (NSC@Co3S4) composites on polypropylene separator.The immobilized polysulfides on the NSC@Co3S4 surface are further reduced/oxidized during the discharge/charge process via the efficient bi-functional catalytic effect of NSC@Co3S4,resulting in the rapid conversion of LiPSs.Consequently,the integrated sulfur cathode delivers a high initial reversible capacity of 1,473.6 mAh·g^-1 at 0.2 C and a high specific capacity of 979 mAh·g^-1 at 1 C after 500 cycles as well as excellent cycling stability for 1,000 cycles with a high specific capacity of 362.5 mAh·g^-1 at 5 C,which are superior to reported similar host materials.Mengmeng Zhen Xintao Zuo Juan Wang Cheng Wang 2019Nano Research2019,12,5:2
13Changes of gut microbiome and metabolome in the AOM/DSS mouse model of colorectal cancer with FLASH radiation显示文摘Objective:To investigate the differences in small intestinal toxicity and taxonomic composition,diversity,and functional pathways of gut microbiome and metabolome after different radiotherapies in mouse colorectal cancer(CRC)model.Methods:Azoxymethane/dextran sodium sulfate(AOM/DSS)-induced mouse CRC model was treated with single pulse FLASH-RT(dose rate 100 Gy/s)or CONV-RT(dose rate 2 Gy/min)at whole abdomen.At 12 d after radiotherapy,sections of small intestinal tract tissue were dissected for hematoxylin and eosin(HE)staining and the fresh feces were collected for 16S ribosomal RNA(rRNA)microbiome sequencing and liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry(LC-MS)metabolomics sequencing to assess changes in the gut microbiota and metabolites.Microbial high-throughput 16S rRNA data was analyzed with QIIME2 and LEfSe softwares.ProteoWizard,XCMS and Ropls softwares were used for LC-MS analysis.Results:HE staining showed that FLASH-RT maintained small intestinal integrity and reduced the radiotherapyinduced injury.Sequencing analysis of gut fecal microbiome showed that phylum Bacteroidetes and genera Prevotella and Lactobacillus of microbial community were increased after FLASH-RT.Metabolomics sequencing analysis revealed that the metabolites after FLASH-RT were enriched in amino acid metabolism,while cholesterol metabolism was top enriched after CONV-RT.Conclusions:FLASH-RT significantly mitigates the small intestine tissue damage compared with CONV-RT.FLASHRT and CONV-RT have different impact on gut microbiota and its metabolites.Our results provide a theoretical basis for the early evaluation,prediction and individualized treatment of the irradiation effect after novel FLASHRT on tumors through the evaluation of intestinal microbiota and metabolites.Mengmeng Xu Xinyu Qiu Qiu Chen Tianyu Yang Jingze Xu Liang Chen Lixiong Shuai Zhiming Xu Xinyang Cheng Yongsheng Zhang Zhifei Cao 2023Radiation Medicine and Protection2023,4,1:2

15Curcumin alleviates TGF-β1-induced fibrosis in NRK-49F cells via suppression of miR-21 expression,and regulation of the TGF-β1/smad3 signaling pathway显示文摘Objective:Overexpression of microRNA-21(miR-21)has been well-recognized during fibrosis in a wide range of tissue types through regulation of fibrogenesis via diverse pathways.Curcumin exhibits antifibrotic effects in various organs.We and others have previously demonstrated that curcumin has positive effects on the protection against fibrosis.However,the effect of curcumin on miR-21 expression has not been reported.Methods:In this study,transforming growth factor-b1(TGF-b1)-stimulated rat renal fibroblast cells(NRK-49F)were transfected with miR-21 inhibitors,then the expression of Smad3,a-smooth muscle actin(a-SMA),type I collagen(COL1A1),and type III collagen(COL3A1)was determined using quantitative real-time-PCR(qRT-PCR)and western blot analysis.The effect of curcumin on production of the extracellular matrix was evaluated using immunofluorescence,qRT-PCR,and western blot analysis.Results:TGF-b1 stimulation upregulated the expression of miR-21 and induced fibrogenesis in NRK-49F cells.Transfection with miR-21 inhibitors selectively decreased smad3 activity,and noticeably reduced the expression of a-SMA,COL1A1,and COL3A1.Curcumin treatment significantly inhibited the expressions of smad3,a-SMA,COL1A1,COL3A1,as well as miR-21 expression in NRK-49F cells in a dosedependent manner.Conclusion:Curcumin exerted its anti-fibrotic effects by targeting the TGF-b1/smad3 signaling pathway and suppressing miR-21 expression,thereby provides novel insight in the protective effects of curcumin against fibrosis in various organs.Lan Zhang Yi Liu Xiting Wang Cheng Li Mengmeng Shen Liming Di Shuangshuang He Yu Li 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,1:2
16Portopulmonary hypertension: Current developments and future perspectives显示文摘Portopulmonary hypertension(POPH)is a severe pulmonary vascular disease secondary to portal hy-pertension and a subset of Group 1 pulmonary hypertension(PH).The pathological changes of POPH are indistinguishable from other PH phenotypes,including endothelial dysfunction,pulmonary vasocon-striction,and vascular remodeling.These changes cause a progressive increase in pulmonary vascular resistance and afterload of the right ventricle,eventually leading to severe right heart failure.The prognosis of POPH is extremely poor among untreated patients.POPH is associated with a high risk of death after liver transplantation(LT),and severe POPH is considered an absolute contraindication for LT.However,pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH)-targeted therapies are administered to patients with POPH,and aggressive drug treatment significantly optimizes pulmonary hemodynamics and reduces the risk of death.Therefore,early diagnosis,aggressive PAH-targeted therapies,and proper selection of liver transplant candidates are vital to reduce the risk of surgery and improve clinical outcomes.This article aims to review the results of previous studies and describe biological mechanisms,epidemiology,po-tential risk factors,and diagnostic approaches of POPH.Moreover,we introduce recent therapeutic in-terventions for the early diagnosis of POPH and efficient clinical management decisions.Huawei Xu Baoquan Cheng Renren Wang Mengmeng Ding Yanjing Gao 2022Liver Research2022,6,1:2
17Novel SFTSV Phylogeny Reveals New Reassortment Events and Migration Routes显示文摘Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus(SFTSV),the causative agent of a febrile human disease,was first identified from central and eastern provinces in China,and later in Japan and South Korea.Hubei Province is one of the major SFTS epidemic areas in the central part of China.This study reported the isolation of 11 new SFTSV strains from patients in Hubei Province collected in 2017.Extensive phylogenetic analyses were conducted based on the complete coding sequences of SFTSV segments including the new strains.It was suggested that five different SFTSV genotypes were circulating in Hubei,and 15 reassortment patterns and migration pathways correlated with each genotype were identified,which was more than previously recognized.Hubei Province was more involved in the evolutionary events of SFTSV than that previously thought in which the evolutionary events of SFTSV were reported to be independent from those in other epidemic regions.Further divergence of SFTSV strains was suggested by pairwise comparison of SFTSV sequences from each genotype and sequence identity normalized to representative strain in genotype C1.Subsequently,amino acid variations specific for genotype(s),strain(s),or cluster(s)were inspected,which may be related to differential biological activity of SFTSV strains/genotypes.In conclusion,we analyzed the current status of SFTSV phylogeny in Hubei Province and discussed the possible events correlated to SFTSV evolution.It provided an in-depth insight into SFTSV evolution,raising concerns for the use of proper SFTSV strains in future studies.Xiaoli Wu Mingyue Li Yanfang Zhang Boyun Liang Junming Shi Yaohui Fang Zhengyuan Su Mengmeng Li Wenjing Zhang Ling Xu Jun Wang Qiaoli Wu Shuang Tang Hualin Wang Tao Zhang Cheng Peng Xin Zheng Fei Deng Shu Shen 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,2:2
18Route Guardian: Constructing Secure Routing Paths in Software-Defined Networking显示文摘Software-Defined Networking(SDN) decouples the control plane and the data plane in network switches and routers, which enables the rapid innovation and optimization of routing and switching configurations. However,traditional routing mechanisms in SDN, based on the Dijkstra shortest path, do not take the capacity of nodes into account, which may lead to network congestion. Moreover, security resource utilization in SDN is inefficient and is not addressed by existing routing algorithms. In this paper, we propose Route Guardian, a reliable securityoriented SDN routing mechanism, which considers the capabilities of SDN switch nodes combined with a Network Security Virtualization framework. Our scheme employs the distributed network security devices effectively to ensure analysis of abnormal traffic and malicious node isolation. Furthermore, Route Guardian supports dynamic routing reconfiguration according to the latest network status. We prototyped Route Guardian and conducted theoretical analysis and performance evaluation. 19Strength criterion effect of the translator and destabilization model of gas-bearing coal seam显示文摘Coal seam destabilization inflicts damage to equipment, causes property loss and personnel casualties,and severely threatens mining safety and efficient production. To further understand this destabilization based on the basic theory of Lippmann seam destabilization, a mathematical model was introduced for gas pressure distribution by considering intermediate principal stress and support resistance.Subsequently, we established a translation model suitable for the entire roadway coal seam with rocky roof and floor by applying the unified form of yield criterion in the state of plane strain. We also obtained the analytic expressions of coal seam stress distribution on both sides of the roadway and the widths of plastic and disturbance zones. Afterward, we analyzed several typical cases with different material yield criteria, obtained the plastic zone widths of the coal seam under different gas pressures, and assessed the effects of support resistance, roadway size, and coal strength on coal seam destabilization. Results showed that: the results obtained on the basis of Wilson and Mohr–Coulomb criteria are considerably conservative, and the use of Druker–Prager criteria to evaluate the rockburst-induced coal seam destabilization is safer than the use of the two other criteria; coal seam stability is correlated with gas pressure;and high-pressure gas accelerates the coal seam destabilization.Gang Wang Rui Wang Mengmeng Wu Cheng Fan Xiang Song 2019International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2019,29,2:2
