2Morphogenetic responses of Populus alba L. under salt stress显示文摘The morphogenetic responses to salt stress of Tunisian Populus alba clones were studied in order to promote their plantation in damaged saline areas.One year-old plants of three P.alba clones(MA-104,MA-195 and OG)were subjected to progressive salt stress by irrigation during two consecutive years.The plants were grown in a nursery,inside plastic receptacles containing sandy soil and were irrigated with tap water(control)or 3–6 g/l NaCl solution.During this study,leaf epinasty,elongation rate,vigor,internode length,plant architecture,and number of buds were evaluated.Test clone response was highly dependent on the applied treatment and degree of accommodation.The most pronounced alterations were induced under 6g/l of NaCl treatment including leaf epinasty,leaf elongation rate delay,vigor decrease,internode length shortening,and morphogenetic modifications.These responses were less noticeable in the MA-104 clone with respect to the two other clones.The salt effect induced a delay in the leaf elongation rate on the MA-195 and OG clones leading to an early leaf maturity.The vigour and internode length of the MA-104 clone was less affected than the other clones.The OG clone was the most salt-sensitive thus,it developed shorter branches and more buds number than MA-195 and MA-104.The effect of long-term salt stress was to induce early flowering of the P.alba clones which suggests that mechanism of salt accommodation could be developed.Mejda Abassi Khaled Mguis Zoubeir Béjaoui Ali Albouchi 2014Journal of Forestry Research2014,25,1:1

4Surface Nanostructure Control with Poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)Spacer by Templateless Electropolymerization显示文摘Controlling the shape of surface nanostructures is fundamental for various potential applications for cxamples,in water harvesting systems,liquid transportation or oil/water separation membranes.In this paper,the creation of porous surface structures is made by a process called templateless electropolymerization,in which water(H_(2)0)is oxidizedreduced to form gas(O_(2)/H_(2))bubbles onto the surfaces and acting as soft template for the polymer growth.Keeping the monomer(thieno[3,4-b]lhiophene)and the substituent(pyrene)constant,we demonstrate how a flexible PEG spacer can affect the structure shape.When the PEG spacer increases,the structures change frorm nanotubes(1D growth)to nanoribbons(2D)and after to hollow nanospheres(3D),which also affeets the wettig propertics.Imen Bousrih Mejda El Kateb Mohammed Beji Fréderic Guittard Thierry Darmanin 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,1:0

6Formation of Nanotubular Structures with Petal Effect by Soft-Template Electropolymerization of Benzotrithiophene with Hydrophilic Carboxyl Group显示文摘The bioinspiration is one of the best ways to make a breakthrough in a field,and particularly in the wetting properties.Bioinspired by natural species,such as rose petals and gecko foot,and previous researches,nanotubular structures are prepared here by soft-template electropolymerization in organic solvent and using an original benzotrithiophene with a hydrophilic carboxyl group,as the monomer.The best results are obtained by cyclic voltammetry because of a much higher amount of gas bubbles released with this deposition method.Both nanoparticles and nanotubes are observed while the water content has an influence on the number of nanotubes.Even if the monomer has hydrophilic carboxyl group,the best films have both high hydrophobicity(apparent water contact angle up to 130.7°)and strong water adhesion(petal effect).These surfaces could be used in future in applications such as water harvesting systems.Maroua Khodja Imen Bousrih Mejda El Kateb Mohammed Beji Frederic Guittard Thierry Darmanin 2022Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,4:0
7Effect of insoluble materials on the volumetric behavior of rock salt显示文摘This paper focuses on the presence of nodules of insoluble materials within salt specimens,and their effect on the volumetric strain measurements and the dilatancy phenomenon.We analyzed experimental results of over 120 conventional triaxial compression tests,and found that in 20%of the cases,the volumetric strain measurements were atypical.We also noted that the natural variability of the specimens can lead to a non-negligible data scattering in the volumetric strain measurements when different specimens are subjected to the same test.This is expected given the small magnitude of those strains,but it occasionally implies that the corresponding specimens are not representative of the volumetric behavior of the studied rock.In order to understand these results,we numerically investigated salt specimens modeled as halite matrices with inclusions of impurities.Simulations of triaxial compression tests on these structures proved that such heterogeneities can induce dilatancy,and their presence can lead to the appearance of tensile zones which is physically translated into a micro-cracking activity.The modeling approach is validated as the patterns displayed in the numerical results are identical to that in the laboratory.It was then employed to explain the observed irregularities in experimental results.We studied the natural variability effect as well and proposed a methodology to overcome the issue of specimen representativity from both deviatoric and volumetric perspectives.Mejda Azabou Ahmed Rouabhi Laura Blanco-Martìn 2021Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,1:0
