| 2 | MicroRNA signature and function in retinal neovascularization显示文摘Ischemic retinopathies are clinically well-defined chronic microvascular complications characterized by gradually progressive alterations in the retinal microvasculature and a compensatory aberrant neovascularization of the eye. The subsequent metabolic deficiencies result in structural and functional alterations in the retina which is highly susceptible to injurious stimuli such as diabe-tes, trauma, hyperoxia, inflammation, aging and dys-plipidemia. Emerging evidence indicates that an effec-tive therapy may require targeting multiple components of the angiogenic pathway. Conceptually, mircoRNA(miRNA)-based therapy provides the rationale basis for an effective antiangiogenic treatment. miRNAs are an evolutionarily conserved family of short RNAs, each regulating the expression of multiple protein-coding genes. The activity of specific miRNAs is important for vascular cell signaling and blood vessel formation and function. Recently, important progress has been made in mapping the miRNA-gene target network andmiRNA-mediated gene expression control. Here wehighlight the latest findings on angiogenic and antian-giogenic miRNAs and their targets as well as potentiaimplications in ocular neovascular diseases. Emphasis isplaced on how specific vascular-enriched miRNAs regu-late cell responses to various cues by targeting severafactors, receptors and/or signaling molecules in orderto maintain either vascular function or dysfunction. | 3 | Simulation of nucleate boiling under ANSYS-FLUENT code by using RPI model coupling with artificial neural networks显示文摘The present study is to develop a new user-defined function using artificial neural networks intent Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)simulation for the prediction of water-vapor multiphase flows through fuel assemblies of nuclear reactor.Indeed,the provision of accurate material data especially for water and steam over a wider range of temperatures and pressures is an essential requirement for conducting CFD simulations in nuclear engineering thermal hydraulics.Contrary to the commercial CFD solver ANSYS-CFX,where the industrial standard IAPWS-IF97(International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam-Industrial Formulation 1997)is implemented in the ANSYS-CFX internal material database,the solver ANSYS-FLUENT provides only the possibility to use equation of state(EOS),like ideal gas law,Redlich-Kwong EOS and piecewise polynomial interpolations.For that purpose,new approach is used to implement the thermophysical properties of water and steam for subcooled water in CFD solver ANSYS-FLUENT.The technique is based on artificial neural networks of multi-layer type to accurately predict 10 thermodynamic and transport properties of the density,specific heat,dynamic viscosity,thermal conductivity and speed of sound on saturated liquid and saturated vapor.Temperature is used as single input parameter,the maximum absolute error predicted by the artificial neural networks ANNs,was around 3%.Thus,the numerical investigation under CFD solver ANSYSFLUENT becomes competitive with other CFD codes of which ANSYS-CFX in this area.In fact,the coupling of the Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute(RPI)wall boiling model and the developed Neural-UDF(User Defined Function)was found to be useful in predicting the vapor volume fraction in subcooled boiling flow. | Brahim Mohamedi Salah Hanini Abdelrahmane Ararem Nacim Mellel | 2015 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2015,26,4: | 5 |
| 4 | Development of cork oak (Quercus suber L.) seedlings in response to tree shelters and mulching in northwestern Tunisia显示文摘The need for reforestation in cork oak (Quercus suber L.) areas is challenged by difficulties. Principal among these is herbivory of young plants, vegetative competition, and slow growth rates of cork oak seedlings. We evaluated the early development of cork oak seedlings treated using tree shelters and mulching in northwestern Tunisia. We tested three tree shelter treatments (non-vented, vented, and control) to shield seedlings from animal damage and five mulch types to control competing vegetation (Italian Stone Pine, Lentisk, combination of Italian Stone Pine and Lentisk (organic mulches), gravel (inorganic mulch) and no mulch). At the end of the two-year experiment, sheltered seedlings were 89-99% taller than unshelteredseedlings and had higher numbers and lengths of shoot growth flushes. In contrast, both stem diameter growth and dry weight biomass (from samples extracted after two years) were significantly reduced inside tree shelters. Root-to-shoot ratio was not significantly different in sheltered vs. unsheltered seedlings, suggesting that tree shelters do not adversely affect this parameter. Mulching alone did not favour growth, but could be beneficial when combined with tree shelters. | 5 | Method for converting in-situ gamma ray spectra of a portable Ge detector to an incident photon flux energy distribution based on Monte Carlo simulation显示文摘A matrix stripping method for the conversion of in-situ gamma ray spectrum, obtained with portable Ge detector, to photon flux energy distribution is proposed. The detector response is fully described by its stripping matrix and full absorption efficiency curve. A charge collection efficiency function is introduced in the simulation to take into account the existence of a transition zone of increasing charge collection after the inactive Ge layer. Good agreement is obtained between simulated and experimental full absorption efficiencies. The characteristic stripping matrix is determined by Monte Carlo simulation for different incident photon energies using the Geant4 toolkit system. The photon flux energy distribution is deduced by stripping the measured spectrum of the partial absorption and cosmic ray events and then applying the full absorption efficiency curve. The stripping method is applied to a measured in-situ spectrum. | 7 | The predictive value of triglyceride-glucose index for in-hospital and one-year mortality in elderly non-diabetic patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction显示文摘BACKGROUND Triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index,a reliable marker of insulin resistance,was associated with cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of TyG index for mortality in elderly non-diabetic pa-tients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI).METHODS In total,430 non-diabetic patients aged over 65 years with STEMI were consecutively included.The TyG index was calculated by using the following formula:TyG index=ln(fasting triglyceride×fasting glucose/2).The 5-item modified frailty index score was utilized to determine comorbidities.Patients were divided into three groups based on TyG index tertiles.RESULTS Patients included into high TyG index tertile were male and had higher body mass index,glucose,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,5-item modified frailty index and GRACE risk score;and had low systolic blood pressure,estim-ated glomerular filtration rate and left ventricular ejection fraction.A one-unit increase in TyG index was associated with 3.03 ex-tra cases per 1000 person-day for in-hospital mortality and 0.29 extra cases per 1000 person-day for long-term mortality.There was a non-linear relationship between TyG index and the risk of mortality with an increased risk above 8.5 for TyG index.Kaplan-Meier survival curves revealed that patients in high TyG index tertile had higher in-hospital and long-term mortality rates than those in low TyG index tertile.CONCLUSIONS This was the first study to demonstrate that the TyG index could predict in-hospital and long-term mortality in elderly non-diabetic STEMI patients. | FaysalŞaylık TufanÇınar Murat Selçuk İbrahim Halil Tanboğa | 2022 | Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2022,19,8: | 3 |
| 8 | Primary sclerosing cholangitis in Turkish patients:characteristic features and prognosis显示文摘BACKGROUND:Primary sclerosing cholangitis(PSC)is a chronic cholestatic liver disease characterized by destruction and fibrosis of the bile ducts.This study aimed to demonstrate the hepatic and extrahepatic characteristic findings and prognostic outcomes of Turkish patients with PSC. METHODS:The medical records of 35 consecutive patients with PSC from January 1988 to June 2007 were recorded prospectively.From the time of diagnosis,clinical features and laboratory data were collected. RESULTS:The mean age of the 35 patients was 41.69 years (range 15-80 years)at the time of diagnosis;14(40%)were female,and 21(60%)were male.The mean duration of follow-up was 58.86 months(1-180 months).Twenty(57.1%) of the patients with PSC were asymptomatic and 22(62.9%) had inflammatory bowel disease.At the time of diagnosis, 20(57.1%)of the patients had both intra-and extra-hepatic PSC.Twenty-one(60%)of the patients,who had undergone ERCP for stent placement,had dominant bile duct stenosis. Cholangiocarcinoma was found in 2(5.7%)of the patients and cirrhosis was detected in 7(20%);5(14.3%)underwent liver transplantation.The median follow-up time after liver transplantation was 23 months and all are still alive.Six (17.1%)patients died. CONCLUSIONS:PSC has a clinical course varied from advanced liver disease requiring liver transplantation within a short time to being asymptomatic for decades. | 9 | Mechanical and Metallurgical Characterization of HSLA X70Welded Pipeline Steel Subjected to Successive Repairs显示文摘The aim of this work is to study the influence of successive weld repairs on the microstructure and the mechanical behavior of the heat-affected zone(HAZ) of an HSLA X70 steel. Detailed microstructural examination combined to grain size measurement showed that beyond the second weld repair, the microstructure of the HAZ undergoes significant change in the grain morphology and grain growth. The results of the X-ray diffraction analyzed using MAUD software indicated an increase in the crystallite size and a decrease in the dislocation density according to the number of weld repair operations. Consequently, a loss of mechanical properties, namely the yield strength and the toughness with the number of weld repairs, was recorded. | 10 | Laboratory Study of Geotextiles Performance on Reinforced Sandy Soil显示文摘This paper presents the results of triaxial tests conducted for the investigation of the influence of geotextiles on stress-strain and volumetric change behaviour of reinforced sandy soil. Tests were carried out on loose sandy soil. The experimental program includes drained compression tests on samples reinforced with different values of both geotextiles layers(Ng) and confining pressure(σ′c). Two methods of preparation were used: air pluviation(AP) and moist tamping(MT). Test results show that the geotextiles induce a quasi-linear increase in the stress deviator(q) and volume contraction in the reinforced sand. Method of preparation significantly affects the shear strength; samples prepared by the air pluviation method and mobilized deviator stresses are significantly higher than those prepared by moist tamping method. Geotextiles restrict the dilation of reinforced sandy soil and consequently the contraction increases. The mobilized friction angle increases with increasing number of layers and decreases with increasing initial confining pressure. Samples prepared by moist tamping present mobilized friction angles significantly lower than those prepared by air pluviation method. For samples prepared by the air pluviation method, the secant modulus at ε1=1% and 5% decreases with increasing geotextile layers; those prepared by the moist tamping method, secant modulus at ε1=1% and 5% increases with increasing number of geotextile layer sand confining pressure. | 11 | Particle dispersion modeling in ventilated room using artificial neural network显示文摘Due to insufficiency of a platform based on experimental results for numerical simulation validation using computational fluid dynamic method(CFD) for different geometries and conditions,in this paper we propose a modeling approach based on the artificial neural network(ANN) to describe spatial distribution of the particles concentration in an indoor environment.This study was performed for a stationary flow regime.The database used to build the ANN model was deducted from bibliography literature and composed by 261 points of experimental measurement.Multilayer perceptron-type neural network(MLP-ANN) model was developed to map the relation between the input variables and the outputs.Several training algorithms were tested to give a choice of the Fletcher conjugate gradient algorithm(TrainCgf).The predictive ability of the results determined by simulation of the ANN model was compared with the results simulated by the CFD approach.The developed neural network was beneficial and easy to predict the particle dispersion curves compared to CFD model.The average absolute error given by the ANN model does not reach 5%against 18%by the Lagrangian model and 28% by the Euler drift-flux model of the CFD approach. | Athmane Gheziel Salah Hanini Brahim Mohamedi Abdelrahmane Ararem | 2017 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2017,28,1: | 2 |
| 12 | Advances in reduction of NO_x and N_2O emission formation in an oxy-fired fluidized bed boiler显示文摘Fossil fuel combustion is one of the major means to meet the mounting global energy demand. However, the increasing NO_x and N_2 O emissions arising from fossil fuel combustion process have hazardous effects. Thus, mitigating these gases is vital to attain a sustainable environment. Interestingly, oxy-fuel combustion in fluidized bed for carbon capture and minimized NO_x emissions is strongly sustainable compare to the other approaches. It was assessed that NO_x formation and fuel-N conversion have significant limitation under oxy-fluidized bed compared to air mode and the mechanism of NO_x formation is still deficient and requires further development. In addition, this review paper discussed the potential of primary measure as low emission process with others supplementary techniques for feasible NO_x reduction. The influences of combustion mode, operating parameters, and reduction techniques such as flue gas recirculation, oxygen staging, biomass co-firing, catalyst, influence of fluidized bed design and structure, decoupling combustion and their merges are respectively evaluated. | 13 | 土耳其西部新生代斑岩成矿岩浆氧逸度-挥发份元素组成演化特征--来自锆石和磷灰石组成约束显示文摘特提斯成矿域中段的土耳其西部集中产出了与俯冲、碰撞-后碰撞、伸展动力学背景有关的斑岩型铜、钼、金矿床。前人已完成了针对这些斑岩型矿床构造背景的大量研究工作,但对于区内不同构造背景下斑岩型矿床的成矿岩浆源区性质、成矿元素-挥发分含量和成矿物质演化关系尚未有系统研究。而这些研究将对认识中特提斯构造域晚白垩世以来在新特提斯洋俯冲、欧亚板块-Tauride-Anatolide板块碰撞和伸展过程中斑岩矿床形成时地壳厚度、壳幔相互作用方式及成矿物质演化过程具有重要意义。本研究选择土耳其西段三个斑岩成矿带(Tavşanl带、Biga半岛成矿带和Afyon-Konya带)内五个斑岩型矿床的成矿岩体与同期侵入岩-火山岩,开展锆石微量元素和磷灰石主量元素研究,限定碰撞与伸展环境下斑岩型矿床成矿岩浆的形成温度、氧逸度条件及其与岩浆形成时地壳厚度的关系,利用磷灰石F-Cl-S含量组成揭示熔体挥发分和硫元素的物质组成,进而约束新特提斯洋俯冲-碰撞-伸展过程中斑岩系统的深部物质演化规律。研究结果表明,土耳其西部新生代斑岩型矿床成矿岩浆锆石大部分落于高水含量-高氧逸度区间,具有相似的稀土元素标准化配分曲线。从始新世到中新世,锆石氧逸度Ce 4+/Ce 3+比值呈现出先降低(斑岩型Cu-Mo矿到斑岩型Mo矿)后升高(斑岩型Mo-Cu矿到斑岩Au矿)的趋势,且相对于斑岩型Mo矿和Mo-Cu矿,斑岩型Au矿和Cu-Mo矿成矿岩体的锆石形成时具有相对较高的氧逸度。绝大部分斑岩型矿床成矿岩体的锆石Eu N/Eu N*位于0.4~0.7之间,但斑岩型Mo矿和斑岩型Mo-Cu矿床的锆石具有相对较低的Eu N/Eu N*比值,可能是由于在结晶时熔体受斜长石结晶影响较大。锆石微量元素显示(Yb/Gd和Hf/Y-Th/U)锆石组成大部分受岩浆房中角闪石±榍石±磷灰石分离结晶控制。根据锆石Ti温度计估算土耳其西部斑岩型矿床成矿岩体及其相关岩体的形成温度在650~900℃之间,结晶温度从斑岩型Au矿、斑岩型Cu-Mo/Mo-Cu矿至斑岩型Mo矿呈现递减趋势。对于熔体的挥发分与硫含量组成,始新世-渐新世斑岩型Cu-Mo与Mo矿床成矿岩浆相对具有高F和低Cl组成,中新世伸展环境形成的斑岩型Mo-Cu矿和斑岩型Au矿床成矿岩浆Cl含量普遍较高。与成矿岩体同期的暗色包体或基性岩脉中磷灰石计算获得的熔体硫含量均大于侵入体对应熔体的硫含量,且具有不均一的含量组成,表明基性岩浆注入可能为岩浆房提供硫。结合区域动力学和地壳厚度估算,本文认为触发土耳其西部新生代斑岩矿床形成的动力学机制是:在新特提斯洋向北单向汇聚的背景下,北部始新世-渐新世斑岩矿床受控于碰撞后俯冲的新特提斯洋板片(Vardar洋)后撤-回转-断离过程;南部中新世斑岩矿床的形成则受控于爱琴海板片俯冲控制的地壳伸展-减薄过程。北侧Izmir-Ankara-Erzincan缝合带附近的Tavşanl与Biga半岛斑岩成矿带始新世-渐新世斑岩型矿床的形成与熔融-同化-储存-均一过程(MASH)有关,深部地壳热区过程(DCHZ)与中新世Afyon-Konya带斑岩型矿床的形成有关。 | 赵俊兴 苏本勋 UYSAL I brahim AYDIN Faruk 肖燕 SEN Cuneyt 回凯旋 秦克章 | 2021 | 岩石学报2021,37,8: | 2 |
| 14 | Effect of Coriolis and centrifugal forces on flow and heat transfer at high rotation number and high density ratio in non orthogonally internal cooling channel显示文摘Numerical predictions of three-dimensional flow and heat transfer are performed for a two-pass square channel with 45° staggered ribs in non-orthogonally mode-rotation using the second moment closure model. At Reynolds number of 25,000, the rotation numbers studied were 0,0.24, 0.35 and 1.00. The density ratios were 0.13, 0.23 and 0.50. The results show that at high buoyancy parameter and high rotation number with a low density ratio, the flow in the first passage is governed by the secondary flow induced by the rotation whereas the secondary flow induced by the skewed ribs was almost distorted. As a result the heat transfer rate is enhanced on both co-trailing and co-leading sides compared to low and medium rotation number. In contrast, for the second passage, the rotation slightly reduces the heat transfer rate on co-leading side at high rotation number with a low density ratio and degrades it significantly on both co-trailing and co-leading sides at high buoyancy parameter compared to the stationary, low and medium rotation numbers. | 18 | Structural, optical and electrical properties of zinc oxide thin films deposited by a spray pyrolysis technique显示文摘Zinc oxide(ZnO) thin films were deposited on glass substrates by spray pyrolysis technique decomposition of zinc acetate dihydrate in an ethanol solution with 30 m L of deposition rate, the ZnO thin films were deposited at two different temperatures: 300 and 350°C. The substrates were heated using the solar cells method.The substrate was R217102 glass, whose size was 30 17.5 1 mm3. The films exhibit a hexagonal wurtzite structure with a strong(002) preferred orientation. The higher value of crystallite size is attained for sprayed films at 350°C, which is probably due to an improvement of the crystallinity of the films at this point. The average transmittance of obtain films is about 90%–95%, as measured by a UV–vis analyzer. The band gap energy varies from 3.265 to 3.294 e V for the deposited Zn O thin film at 300 and 350°C, respectively. | 19 | Ion imprinted cryogel-based supermacroporous traps for selective separation of cerium(Ⅲ) in real samples显示文摘This study demonstrates the preparation and characterization of a novel ion imprinted cryogel which exhibits high affinity and selectivity towards Ce(Ⅲ) ions in aqueous solutions and bastnasite ore samples.2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) and N-methacryloylamido antipyrine(MAAP) were used as functional monomers for the preparation of Ce(Ⅲ) imprinted cryogel. The effects of various factors such as initial Ce(Ⅲ) concentration, flow rate, pH, interaction time and ionic strength on the Ce(Ⅲ) binding to the prepared ion imprinted cryogels were also studied. The binding equilibrium for Ce(Ⅲ) is obtained in30 min at the flow rate of 0.5 mL/min. The maximum binding capacity of the prepared ion imprinted cryogel towards Ce(Ⅲ) is obtained as 36.58 mg/g at optimum conditions. The selectivity of the prepared ion imprinted cryogel towards Ce(Ⅲ) in the presence of other possible interfering lanthanide ions such as La(Ⅲ) and Nd(Ⅲ) were also performed. The obtained results showed that the prepared ion imprinted cryogel exhibits high selectivity and sensitivity towards Ce(Ⅲ) ions.
