1Coercivity enhancement of nanocrystalline hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets by low-melting eutectic MM-Cu(MM=La,Ce,Pr,Nd) alloys addition显示文摘MM85Cu15(MM = La,Ce,Pr,Nd) eutectic alloys were added into the hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets to enhance the coercivity.It is found that three endothermic peaks occur on the differential scanning calorimetry curve of the MM-Cu melt-spun ribbons at 432.2,451.1 and 516.5℃.The peaks substantially correspond to three types of MM-Cu low-melting eutectic phase.The coercivity of magnets increases when the MM-Cu content is lower than 4 wt%,and then keeps almost no change with the content further increasing to 5 wt%.The coercivity of the hot-deformed magnets with 4 wt% and without MM-Cu addition is 948 and 683 kA/m,respectively.Nearly all the platelet-shaped grains are isolated by the thickened intergranular phase after MM-Cu addition.Moreover,the average grain size of the magnets with MM-Cu addition decreases compared with that of the magnet without MM-Cu addition.Scanning electron microscopy images show that the areal fraction of the RE-rich grain boundary phase increases from 8.6% to 15.1% after MM-Cu addition.The La,Ce together with Cu and Ga aggregate at the grain boundary regions separating neighboring grains and smoothing the grain boundaries.Therefore,both the thickened grain boundary and decreased mean grain size result in the enhancement of coercivity after MM-Cu eutectic alloy addition.Zheng Jing Zhaohui Guo Younian He Meiling Zhang Xin Wang Minggang Zhu Wei Li 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,6:9
2Anisotropic corrosion behavior of sintered(Ce_(0.15)Nd_(0.85))_(30)Fe_(bal)B permanent magnets显示文摘In this work, the corrosion behavior of the surface parallel to the oriented c-axis(c‖) and perpendicular to c-axis(c⊥)in the(Ce_(0.15)Nd_(0.85))_(30)Fe_(bal)B dual main phase magnet was studied. With the addition of Ce,the volume fraction of RE-rich phase shown in the backscattered electron(BSE) images is basically approximate on the two surfaces. The free corrosion potential(E_(corr)) of the c‖ surface is more negative,which shows the worse corrosion resistance from the perspective of thermodynamics. While the reaction kinetics parameters with the smaller free corrosion current(i_(corr)) and the larger transfer resistance(R_(ct)) react the opposite conclusion in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. Moreover, the c‖ surface performs smaller ions concentration of corrosion product and less damaged corrosion morphology compared to c⊥ surface after the free corrosion. 3Genetic Analysis and Mapping of the Purple Gene in Purple Heading Chinese Cabbage显示文摘To analyze genetic linkage and map purple gene(Br Pur) controlling purple inner leaves trait of Chinese cabbage, a F2 population was constructed by selfing a F1 plant from homozygous purple heading line ‘14S839' and homozygous orange heading line ‘14S162'. The phenotype investigation of head color showed that the segregation ratio of purple to non-purple individuals was consistent with the expected ratio of 3:1,which indicated that purple inner leaves trait is controlled by a single dominant gene. A total of 297 SSRs in whole genome of Chinese cabbage were tested by modified Bulked Segregant Analysis(BSA) method. Two linked markers flanking Br Pur, A710 and A714, were obtained and Br Pur was mapped on linkage group A07 based on the sequence of these two markers. Subsequently, two new markers flanking Br Pur, CL-12 and B214-87, were developed based on two known anthocyanins-related genes, Br4CL3 and Bra004214. 4A numerical study of the generation mechanism of internal solitary waves in the Luzon Strait显示文摘The South China Sea(SCS) is a hot spot for oceanic internal solitary waves due to many factors, such as the complexity of the terrain environment. The internal solitary waves in the northern SCS mainly originate in the Luzon Strait. The generation mechanism of the internal solitary waves in the Luzon Strait is discussed using a modulation instability. The energy gain of the modulation instability is derived based on the fully nonlinear Schr?dinger equation. The peak value of the gain is calculated under different conditions of stratification,wavelength and the initial amplitude of an internal tidal wave. The characteristics of the modulation instability in the Luzon Strait are investigated. The conditions that make the internal tidal wave evolve into an internal solitary wave in the Luzon strait are also obtained. The results show that the internal tide waves can generate the modulation instability in the Luzon Strait and that the maximum gain occur at the eastern sill of the Luzon Strait,where the internal tide waves start to break up into internal solitary trains. The magnitude and the scope of the peak gain are relevant to the stratification and the initial conditions of the internal tide waves. 5Characteristics of oral methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis isolated from dental plaque显示文摘The oral microbial community is widely regarded as a latent reservoir of antibiotic resistance genes. This study assessed the molecular epidemiology, susceptibility profile, and resistance mechanisms of 35 methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis(MRSE) strains isolated from the dental plaque of a healthy human population. Broth microdilution minimum inhibitory concentrations(MICs) revealed that all the isolates were nonsusceptible to oxacillin and penicillin G. Most of them were also resistant to trimethoprim(65.7%) and erythromycin(54.3%). The resistance to multiple antibiotics was found to be largely due to the acquisition of plasmid-borne genes. The mec A and dfr A genes were found in all the isolates, mostly dfr G(80%), aac A-aph D(20%), aad D(28.6%), aph A3(22.9%), msr A(5.7%), and the erm C gene(14.3%). Classical mutational mechanisms found in these isolates were mainly efflux pumps such as qac A(31.4%), qac C(25.7%), tet K(17.1%), and nor A(8.6%). Multilocus sequence type analysis revealed that sequence type 59(ST59) strains comprised 71.43% of the typed isolates, and the e BURST algorithm clustered STs into the clonal complex 2-II(CC2-II). The staphyloccoccal cassette chromosome mec(SCCmec) type results showed that 25(71.43%) were assigned to type IV. Moreover, 88.66% of the isolates were found to harbor six or more biofilm-associated genes. The aap, atl E, embp, sdr F, and IS256 genes were detected in all 35 isolates. 6Wet-spinning fabrication of shear-patterned alginate hydrogel microfibers and the guidance of cell alignment显示文摘Native tissue is naturally comprised of highly-ordered cell-matrix assemblies in a multi-hierarchical way,and the nano/submicron alignment of fibrous matrix is found to be significant in supporting cellular functionalization.In this study,a self-designed wet-spinning device appended with a rotary receiving pool was used to continuously produce shear-patterned hydrogel microfibers with aligned submicron topography.The process that the flow-induced shear force reshapes the surface of hydrogel fiber into aligned submicron topography was systematically analysed.Afterwards,the effect of fiber topography on cellular longitudinal spread and elongation was investigated by culturing rat neuron-like PC12 cells and human osteosarcoma MG63 cells with the spun hydrogel microfibers,respectively.The results suggested that the stronger shear flow force would lead to more distinct aligned submicron topography on fiber surface,which could induce cell orientation along with fiber axis and therefore form the cell-matrix dual-alignment.Finally,a multi-hierarchical tissue-like structure constructed by dual-oriented cell-matrix assemblies was fabricated based on this wet-spinning method.This work is believed to be a potentially novel biofabrication scheme for bottom-up constructing of engineered linear tissue,such as nerve bundle,cortical bone,muscle and hepatic cord.You Yang Jing Sun Xiaolu Liu Zhenzhen Guo Yunhu He Dan Wei Meiling Zhong Likun Guo Hongsong Fan Xingdong Zhang 2017Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,5:2

9Suzhi Education and General Education in China显示文摘Purpose:Since the 1980s,suzhi has become a core word in contemporary China.Suzhi education as an education philosophy full of Chinese characteristics has been well known in China for generations.Particularly since 1995,culture-oriented quality education as an anchor and starting point of suzhi education implementation in universities,which integrates with general education and liberal education fromWestern concepts,triggered great changes in Chinese universities.This article aims to review the concepts of suzhi education,general education,and their practice in China.Design/Approach/Methods:This study is based on historical developments of suzhi education and general education,research literature,and some typical practice cases.Findings:The analysis finds that suzhi education and general education have consistent goals.Their connotations in China can be understood in three aspects:philosophy,education content,and cultivation mode.They caused three great practices in universities,including general education courses,extracurricular suzhi education activities,and reforms on talent cultivation modes.Originality/Value:This article clarifies the localized understanding of suzhi education and general education in three aspects and outlines the overall reforms around suzhi education and general education in Chinese higher education.Haishao Pang Meiling Cheng Jing Yu Jingjing Wu 2020ECNU Review of Education2020,3,2:1
10Polarization modulation with optical lock-in detection reveals universal fluorescence anisotropy of subcellular structures in live cells显示文摘The orientation of fluorophores can reveal crucial information about the structure and dynamics of their associated subcellular organelles.Despite significant progress in super-resolution,fluorescence polarization microscopy remains limited to unique samples with relatively strong polarization modulation and not applicable to the weak polarization signals in samples due to the excessive background noise.Here we apply optical lock-in detection to amplify the weak polarization modulation with super-resolution.This novel technique,termed optical lock-in detection super-resolution dipole orientation mapping(OLID-SDOM),could achieve a maximum of 100 frames per second and rapid extraction of 2D orientation,and distinguish distance up to 50 nm,making it suitable for monitoring structural dynamics concerning orientation changes in vivo.OLID-SDOM was employed to explore the universal anisotropy of a large variety of GFP-tagged subcellular organelles,including mitochondria,lysosome,Golgi,endosome,etc.We found that OUF(Orientation Uniformity Factor)of OLID-SDOM can be specific for different subcellular organelles,indicating that the anisotropy was related to the function of the organelles,and OUF can potentially be an indicator to distinguish normal and abnormal cells(even cancer cells).Furthermore,dual-color super-resolution OLID-SDOM imaging of lysosomes and actins demonstrates its potential in studying dynamic molecular interactions.The subtle anisotropy changes of expanding and shrinking dendritic spines in live neurons were observed with real-time OLID-SDOM.Revealing previously unobservable fluorescence anisotropy in various samples and indicating their underlying dynamic molecular structural changes,OLID-SDOM expands the toolkit for live cell research.Meiling Guan Miaoyan Wang Karl Zhanghao Xu Zhang Meiqi Li Wenhui Liu Jing Niu Xusan Yang Long Chen Zhenli Jing Micheal Q.Zhang Dayong Jin Peng Xi Juntao Gao 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,1:1

12Human 8-cell embryos enable efficient induction of disease-preventive mutations without off-target effect by cytosine base editor显示文摘Approximately 140 million people worldwide are homozygous carriers of APOE4(ε4),a strong genetic risk factor for late onset familial and sporadic Alzheimer’s disease(AD),91%of whom will develop AD at earlier age than heterozygous carriers and noncarriers.Susceptibility to AD could be reduced by targeted editing of APOE4,but a technical basis for controlling the off-target effects of base editors is necessary to develop low-risk personalized gene therapies.Here,we first screened eight cytosine base editor variants at four injection stages(from 1-to 8-cell stage),and found that FNLS-YE1 variant in 8-cell embryos achieved the comparable base conversion rate(up to 100%)with the lowest bystander effects.In particular,80%of AD-susceptibleε4 allele copies were converted to the AD-neutralε3 allele in humanε4-carrying embryos.Stringent control measures combined with targeted deep sequencing,whole genome sequencing,and RNA sequencing showed no DNA or RNA off-target events in FNLS-YE1-treated human embryos or their derived stem cells.Furthermore,base editing with FNLS-YE1 showed no effects on embryo development to the blastocyst stage.Finally,we also demonstrated FNLS-YE1 could introduce known protective variants in human embryos to potentially reduce human susceptivity to systemic lupus erythematosus and familial hypercholesterolemia.Our study therefore suggests that base editing with FNLS-YE1 can efficiently and safely introduce known preventive variants in 8-cell human embryos,a potential approach for reducing human susceptibility to AD or other genetic diseases.Yinghui Wei Meiling Zhang Jing Hu Yingsi Zhou Mingxing Xue Jianhang Yin Yuanhua Liu Hu Feng Ling Zhou Zhifang Li Dongshuang Wang Zhiguo Zhang Yin Zhou Hongbin Liu Ning Yao Erwei Zuo Jiazhi Hu Yanzhi Du Wen Li Chunlong Xu Hui Yang 2023Protein & Cell2023,14,6:0
13Does airway pressure release ventilation offer new hope for treating acute respiratory distress syndrome?显示文摘Mechanical ventilation(MV)is an essential life support method for patients with acute respiratory distress syn-drome(ARDS),which is one of the most common critical illnesses with high mortality in the intensive care unit(ICU).A lung-protective ventilation strategy based on low tidal volume(LTV)has been recommended since a few years;however,as this did not result in a significant decrease of ARDS-related mortality,a more optimal venti-lation mode was required.Airway pressure release ventilation(APRV)is an old method defined as a continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP)with a brief intermittent release phase based on the open lung concept;it also perfectly fits the ARDS treatment principle.Despite this,APRV has not been widely used in the past,rather only as a rescue measure for ARDS patients who are difficult to oxygenate.Over recent years,with an increased under-standing of the pathophysiology of ARDS,APRV has been reproposed to improve patient prognosis.Nevertheless,this mode is still not routinely used in ARDS patients given its vague definition and complexity.Consequently,in this paper,we summarize the studies that used APRV in ARDS,including adults,children,and animals,to illustrate the settings of parameters,effectiveness in the population,safety(especially in children),incidence,and mechanism of ventilator-induced lung injury(VILI)and effects on extrapulmonary organs.Finally,we found that APRV is likely associated with improvement in ARDS outcomes,and does not increase injury to the lungs and other organs,thereby indicating that personalized APRV settings may be the new hope for ARDS treatment.Jiangli Cheng Aijia Ma Meiling Dong Yongfang Zhou Bo Wang Yang Xue Peng Wang Jing Yang Yan Kang 2022Journal of Intensive Medicine2022,2,4:0
14Suppressing the lattice oxygen diffusion via high-entropy oxide construction towards stabilized acidic water oxidation显示文摘The scale-up deployment of ruthenium(Ru)-based oxygen evolution reaction(OER)electrocatalysts in proton exchange membrane water electrolysis(PEMWE)is greatly restricted by the poor stability.As the lattice-oxygen-mediated mechanism(LOM)has been identified as the major contributor to the fast performance degradation,impeding lattice oxygen diffusion to inhibit lattice oxygen participation is imperative,yet remains challenging due to the lack of efficient approaches.Herein,we strategically regulate the bonding nature of Ru–O towards suppressed LOM via Ru-based high-entropy oxide(HEO)construction.The lattice disorder in HEOs is believed to increase migration energy barrier of lattice oxygen.As a result,the screened Ti_(23)Nb_(9)Hf_(13)W_(12)Ru_(43)O_(x) exhibits 11.7 times slower lattice oxygen diffusion rate,84%reduction in LOM ratio,and 29 times lifespan extension compared with the state-of-the-art RuO_(2) catalyst.Our work opens up a feasible avenue to constructing stabilized Ru-based OER catalysts towards scalable application.Jing Ni Zhaoping Shi Yibo Wang Jiahao Yang Hongxiang Wu Pengbo Wang Kai Li Meiling Xiao Changpeng Liu Wei Xing 2024Nano Research2024,17,3:0
15Decision Difficulty, Work-Family Conflict, and Social Support for Chinese Nurses in Guangzhou after the Two-Child Policy显示文摘Background:AlthoughChina's Mainland implemented a two-child policy (every legally married may have two children) on January 1, 2016, women in China are becoming increasingly cautious in their decision-making about family planning, due to work-family conflicts and a lack of social support. Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate Chinese nurses' intents to have a second child, and to explore the relationship between decision making difficulties in terms of childbearing intents, work-family conflict, and social support for Chinese nurses. Methods:Data were collected at three different hospital levels in four districts of Guangzhou, from 711 nurses of childbearing age (18-50 years) who had had at least one child. A structured questionnaire was used, composed of the Decisional Conflict Scale (DCS), Work-Family Conflict Scale (WFCS), and Scale of Perceived Social Support (SPSS). Results:Participants’ mean age was 33.6 years (18-50). The mean scores of decisional conflict by DCS, work-family conflict by WFCS and perceived social support by SPSS were 40.9 (SD = 14.8), 55.83 (SD = 15.18) and 57.85 (SD = 15.77), respectively. Work-family conflict was positively correlated with decisional conflict (P < 0.01), and social support was negatively related to decisional conflict (P < 0.01). By logistic regression analysis, family interference with work (FIW), especially time-based FIW, was a significant predictor of nurses having decisional conflicts in their childbearing intents (OR=1.083, 95% CI: 1.045 to 1.123). Perceived social support was another significant predictor of decisional difficulty (OR=0.981, 95% CI: 0.970 to 0.992). Discussion:This study found that female nurses, working night shifts and with temporary job contract had higher decisional conflicts in intents of having a second child. The results showed that for Chinese nurses, work-family conflict influences decisional conflicts about having a second child. 16Clinical efficacy and safety of linezolid in intensive care unit patients显示文摘Background:To characterize the population of critically ill patients and infections treated with linezolid in the intensive care unit(ICU),and to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of linezolid therapy.Methods::This multi-center,observational,real-world study was conducted across 52 hospitals between June 9,2018,and December 28,2019.Patients who met the following inclusion criteria were included:(1)admitted to the ICU,(2)of any age group,and(3)having a clinical or laboratory diagnosis of a Gram-positive bacterial infection.Clinical efficacy was categorized as success(cured or improved),failed,or non-evaluable.Adverse events and serious adverse events were recorded during treatment.Results::A total of 366 ICU patients who met the inclusion criteria were evaluated.Linezolid was used as second-and first-line treatment in 232(63.4%)and 134(36.6%)patients,respectively.The most common isolated strain was Staphylococcus aureus(methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus:n=37/119,31.1%;methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus:n=15/119,12.6%);this was followed by Enterococci(vancomycin-resistant Enterococci:n=8/119,6.7%;vancomycin-susceptible Enterococci:n=11/119,9.2%)and Streptococcus pneumoniae(multidrug-resistant:n=4/119,3.4%;non-multidrug resistant:n=2/119,1.7%).The main infection sites where pathogens were detected included the lung(n=216/366,59.6%),skin and soft tissue(n=104/366,28.4%),and blood(n=50/366,13.7%).Clinical success was achieved in 301(82.2%)patients;34(9.3%)were cured and 267(73.0%)improved;treatment failure and non-evaluable outcomes were observed in 29(7.9%)in 36(9.8%)patients,respectively.Linezolid-related adverse events were reported in 8(2.2%)patients.No treatment-related serious adverse events were reported.Conclusions::Based on real-world results,linezolid was found to be effective and safe in the treatment of Gram-positive bacterial infections in critically ill patients.Aijia Ma Meiling Dong Jiangli Cheng Xuelian Liao Wei Dong Chang Liu Chenggong Hu Jing Yang Yan Kang 2023Journal of Intensive Medicine2023,3,1:0

18Effect of hydrogen impurities on hydrogen oxidation activity of Pt/C catalyst in proton exchange membrane fuel cells显示文摘High-purity of hydrogen is vital to the guarantee of end usage in proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)electric vehicles(EVs)with superior durability and low expense.However,the currently employed hydrogen,primarily from fossil fuel,still contains some poisoning impurities that significantly affect the durability of PEMFCs.Here,we investigate the poisoning effect of several typical hydrogen impurities(S^(2-),Cl^(-),HCOO^(-)and CO_(3)^(2-))on the hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR)of the state-of-the-art carbon-supported platinum(Pt/C)catalyst used in the PEMFC anode.Electrochemical results indicate that the electrochemically active surface area of Pt/C is hampered by these hydrogen impurities with reduced effective Pt reactive sites due to the competitive adsorption against hydrogen at Pt sites showing the extent of the poisoning on Pt sites in the order:S^(2-)>Cl^(-)>HCOO^(-)>CO_(3)^(2-).Density functional theory calculations reveal that the adsorption energy of S2-on Pt(111)is greater than that of Cl^(-),HCOO^(-)and CO_(2),and the electronic structure of Pt is found to be changed due to the adsorption of impurities showing the downshift of the d-band centre of Pt that weakens the adsorption of hydrogen on the Pt sites.This work provides valuable guidance for future optimization of hydrogen quality and also emphasizes the importance of anti-poisoning anode catalyst development,especially towards H_(2)S impurities that seriously affect the durability of PEMFCs.Yufeng Qin Chaoyong Sun Shaojie Ke Rou Wen Yifan Wang Jing Ji Meiling Dou 2023Clean Energy2023,7,1:0
19Clinical outcomes of sildenafil application in patients of poor endometrial development显示文摘Objective:To determine whether sildenafil has an efect on pregnancy outcomes in patients with poor endometrial development.Mathods:This study included 472 infertility patients who underwent in viro fer tilization/intracytoplasmadc spemm injection and frozen-thawed embryo tr ansfer(IVF/ICSI-FET)and subsequently sufered from poor endo-metral dewelopment during homnone replacement cycle(HRC)from April 2017 to July 2019.The patients were divided into two groups:the sildenafl group(n=88)and the control group(n=384).We analyzed endometrial thicknuess and types on endometrial transformation day,as well as pregnancy outcomes after FET(biochemical pregnancy,clinical pregnancy,early abortion,late abortion,and live birth rates)between the two groups.Results:After adjusting for confounding factors,we found no significant differences in endometrial thicknesses and types on endometrial transfomation day between the sildenafil group and the control group(0.79±0.08 vs 0.81±0.09,P=0.144;79.76%vs83.87%,P=0.402).There were also no statistcally significant differences in biochemical pregnancy rate(75.0%vs76.8%,P=0.892),clinical pregnancy rate(59.09%vs 69.53%,P=0.087),early abortion rate(17.31%vs 14.61%,P=0.557),late abortion rate(3.85%vs 4.49%,P=0.859),or live birth rate(45.45%vs 55.47%,P=0.101)between the two groups.In subgroup analysis,the application of sildenafil was unable to improve endometrial thickness(group one:0.80±0.08 cm vs 0.82±0.08 cm;group two:0.78±0.08 cm vs 0.80±0.10 cm;group three:0.75±0.11 cm vs 0.77±0.08 cm,p>0.05)and type endometrium on transfomation day(group one:78.57%vs 86.78%;group two:80.65%vs 77.78%;group three:81.82%ws.83.78%,p>0.05).Moreover,sildenafil use was not closely associated with clinical pregnancy outcomes,clinical pregnancy rate,early abortion rate,late abortion rate,and live birth rate(p>0.05).Conclusions:Sildenafl did not benefit endometrial development and pregnancy outcomes in patients with poor endometr:ial development during the hormone replacement cycle.Meiling Guo Yuchen Yan Jianan Lv Hua Xin Wei Zhou Na Yu Mingdi Xia Jing Li Qian Zhang Junhao Yan 2022Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Medicine2022,2,1:0
20Isolation and characterization of Bordetella pseudohinzii in mice in China显示文摘We report on the first detection and isolation of B.pseudohinzii(Bordetella pseudohinzii)in laboratory mice in China.Forty‐one B.pseudohinzii strains were isolated from 3094 mice in 33 different laboratory animal facilities in southern China.The isolates were identified through culture and genome sequenceing.Phylogenetic analysis based on the sequences of 16S rRNA and OmpA genes demonstrated that these strains were on the same clade as other B.pseudohinzii strains isolated from mice.Experimental infected mice presented an asymptomatic infection.B.pseudohinzii replicated in both the respiratory tract and the digestive tract.Most importantly B.pseudohinzii shed via feces and infected a group of sentinel mice in a separate cage via cage padding contaminated with B.pseudohinzii‐positive feces,indicating that B.pseudohinzii could transmit efficiently among mice and contaminate environmental facilities.Our study highlights the importance of routine monitoring of the pathogen in laboratory mice and provides vital insights into the transmission of Brodetellae in rodents and human.Lei Ma Shuwu Huang Yinzhu Luo Fangui Min Lifang He Meiling Chen Jinchun Pan Yu Zhang Jing Wang 2019Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2019,2,3:0
