1Oxymatrine reduces neuroinflammation in rat brain A signaling pathway显示文摘Cerebral neuroinflammation models were established by injecting 10 μg lipopolysaccharide into the hippocampus of male Sprague-Dawley rats. The rats were treated with an intraperitoneal injection of 120, 90, or 60 mg/kg oxymatrine daily for three days prior to the lipopolysaccharide injection. Twenty-four hours after model induction, the hippocampus was analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR, and the cerebral cortex was analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and western blot assay. The results of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and the real-time quantitative PCR showed that the secretion and mRNA expression of the pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β and tumor necrosis factor-α were significantly decreased in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of model rats treated with oxymatrine. Western blot assay and real-time quantitative PCR analysis indicated that toll-like receptor 4 mRNA and protein expression were significantly decreased in the groups receiving different doses of oxymatrine. Additionally, 120 and 90 mg/kg oxymatrine were shown to reduce protein levels of nuclear factor-κB p65 in the nucleus and of phosphorylated IκBα in the cytoplasm of brain cells, as detected by western blot assay. 2Preparation and application of ZnO doped Pt-CeO2 nanofibers as electrocatalyst for methanol electro-oxidation显示文摘ZnO doped Pt/CeO_2 nanocomposites were prepared by electrospinning and reduction impregnation.Xray diffraction(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy disperse spectroscopy(EDS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) were employed to characterize the nanocomposites.It is observed that ZnO and CeO_2 form the hexagonal wurtzite phase and cubic fluorite phase in the nanocomposite,respectively,whilst Pt nanoparticles(NPs) with the number-averaged size of ca.3.1 nm are uniformly distributed on the surface of nanofibers.The mass fraction of Pt NPs in the nanocomposites is about 10 wt%.The doping of ZnO is effective to promote reactive oxygen species,surface reaction sites and the interaction between Pt and oxides.The catalytic performance of nanocomposites was evaluated by the methanol electro-oxidation.indexed with the catalytic activity,stability of catalyst.As a result,it is found that the nanocomposite exhibits much higher activity and stability for methanol oxidation than the undoped Pt/CeO_2 catalyst.Yingping Zheng Xin Zhang Zhengying Zhang Ying Li Yueming Sun Yongbing Lou Xiaojun Li Yang Lu 2018Journal of Rare Earths2018,36,9:5
3Effective and biocompatible antibacterial surfaces via facile synthesis and surface modification of peptide polymers显示文摘It is an urgent need to tackle drug-resistance microbial infections that are associated with implantable biomedical devices.Host defense peptide-mimicking polymers have been actively explored in recent years to fight against drug-resistant microbes.Our recent report on lithium hexamethyldisilazide-initiated superfast polymerization on amino acid N-carboxyanhydrides enables the quick synthesis of host defense peptide-mimicking peptide polymers.Here we reported a facile and cost-effective thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)surface modification of peptide polymer(DLL:BLG=90:10)using plasma surface activation and substitution reaction between thiol and bromide groups.The peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces exhibited board-spectrum antibacterial property as well as effective contact-killing ability in vitro.Furthermore,the peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces showed excellent biocompatibility,displaying no hemolysis and cytotoxicity.In vivo study using methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)for subcutaneous implantation infectious model showed that peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces revealed obvious suppression of infection and great histocompatibility,compared to bare TPU surfaces.We further explored the antimicrobial mechanism of the peptide polymer-modified TPU surfaces,which revealed a surface contact-killing mechanism by disrupting the bacterial membrane.These results demonstrated great potential of the peptide-modified TPU surfaces for practical application to combat bacterial infections that are associated with implantable materials and devices.Ziyi Lu Yueming Wu Zihao Cong Yuxin Qian Xue Wu Ning Shao Zhongqian Qiao Haodong Zhang Yunrui She Kang Chen Hengxue Xiang Bin Sun Qian Yu Yuan Yuan Haodong Lin Meifang Zhu Runhui Liu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:5
4Aquaculture area extraction and vulnerability assessment in Sanduao based on richer convolutional features network model显示文摘Sanduao is an important sea-breeding bay in Fujian,South China and holds a high economic status in aquaculture.Quickly and accurately obtaining information including the distribution area,quantity,and aquaculture area is important for breeding area planning,production value estimation,ecological survey,and storm surge prevention.However,as the aquaculture area expands,the seawater background becomes increasingly complex and spectral characteristics differ dramatically,making it difficult to determine the aquaculture area.In this study,we used a high-resolution remote-sensing satellite GF-2 image to introduce a deep-learning Richer Convolutional Features(RCF)network model to extract the aquaculture area.Then we used the density of aquaculture as an assessment index to assess the vulnerability of aquaculture areas in Sanduao.The results demonstrate that this method does not require land and water separation of the area in advance,and good extraction can be achieved in the areas with more sediment and waves,with an extraction accuracy>93%,which is suitable for large-scale aquaculture area extraction.Vulnerability assessment results indicate that the density of aquaculture in the eastern part of Sanduao is considerably high,reaching a higher vulnerability level than other parts.LIU Yueming YANG Xiaomei WANG Zhihua LU Chen LI Zhi YANG Fengshuo 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,6:4
5Object-based classification of cloudy coastal areas using medium-resolution optical and SAR images for vulnerability assessment of marine disaster显示文摘Efficient and accurate access to coastal land cover information is of great significance for marine disaster prevention and mitigation.Although the popular and common sensors of land resource satellites provide free and valuable images to map the land cover,coastal areas often encounter significant cloud cover,especially in tropical areas,which makes the classification in those areas non-ideal.To solve this problem,we proposed a framework of combining medium-resolution optical images and synthetic aperture radar(SAR)data with the recently popular object-based image analysis(OBIA)method and used the Landsat Operational Land Imager(OLI)and Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar(PALSAR)images acquired in Singapore in 2017 as a case study.We designed experiments to confirm two critical factors of this framework:one is the segmentation scale that determines the average object size,and the other is the classification feature.Accuracy assessments of the land cover indicated that the optimal segmentation scale was between 40 and 80,and the features of the combination of OLI and SAR resulted in higher accuracy than any individual features,especially in areas with cloud cover.Based on the land cover generated by this framework,we assessed the vulnerability of the marine disasters of Singapore in 2008 and 2017 and found that the high-vulnerability areas mainly located in the southeast and increased by 118.97 km2 over the past decade.To clarify the disaster response plan for different geographical environments,we classified risk based on altitude and distance from shore.The newly increased high-vulnerability regions within 4 km offshore and below 30 m above sea level are at high risk;these regions may need to focus on strengthening disaster prevention construction.This study serves as a typical example of using remote sensing techniques for the vulnerability assessment of marine disasters,especially those in cloudy coastal areas.YANG Fengshuo YANG Xiaomei WANG Zhihua LU Chen LI Zhi LIU Yueming 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,6:2
6Resolving and weighing the quantum orbits in strong-field tunneling ionization显示文摘Tunneling ionization of atoms and molecules induced by intense laser pulses contains the contributions of numerous quantum orbits.Identifying the contributions of these orbits is crucial for exploring the application of tunneling and for understanding various tunneling-triggered strong-field phenomena.We perform a combined experimental and theoretical study to identify the relative contributions of the quantum orbits corresponding to the electrons tunneling ionized during the adjacent rising and falling quarter cycles of the electric field of the laser pulse.In our scheme,a perturbative second-harmonic field is added to the fundamental driving field.By analyzing the relative phase dependence of the signal in the photoelectron momentum distribution,the relative contributions of these two orbits are unambiguously determined.Our results show that their relative contributions sensitively depend on the longitudinal momentum and modulate with the transverse momentum of the photoelectron,which is attributed to the interference of the electron wave packets of the long orbit.The relative contributions of these orbits resolved here are important for the application of strong-field tunneling ionization as a photoelectron spectroscopy for attosecond time-resolved measurements.Jia Tan Shengliang Xu Xu Han Yueming Zhou Min Li Wei Cao Qingbin Zhang Peixiang Lu 2021Advanced Photonics2021,3,3:2
7Effects of dry fog humidification on pericarp browning and quality of litchi fruit stored at low temperature显示文摘Pericarp browning is the major cause of deterioration of harvested litchi fruit.Water loss plays a role in pericarp browning of litchi fruit.This study investigated the effects of humidification with dry fog on pericarp browning and quality of litchi fruit stored at low temperature.Litchi fruit were stored in a non-humidified cold chamber(control)or in a humidified cold room using Tabor atomizer system that generated 95%relative humidity(RH)without depositing water on the fruit surface at 4℃.Control fruit stored in cold room without added humidity underwent rapid weight loss,accompanied by severe pericarp browning after 25 d of storage.However,slight weight loss and no obvious pericarp browning were found in humidified-fruit.Moreover,humidification maintained well the integrity of cell membrane and inhibited polyphenol oxidase activity during early storage.In addition,respiration rate was obviously inhibited in humidified-fruit compared with control fruit.This study might provide a convenient approach to reduce pericarp browning of harvested litchi fruit by humidifying the fruit using the Tabor atomizer at low temperature instead of packaging with film.Lu Xiao Taotao Li Guoxiang Jiang Afiya John Dandan Zhang Wenyuan Jin Xuewu Duan Yueming Jiang 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,4:2
8An Alternative-Service Recommending Algorithm Based on Semantic Similarity显示文摘With the development of the Internet of Things(Io T), people's lives have become increasingly convenient. It is desirable for smart home(SH) systems to integrate and leverage the enormous information available from IoT. Information can be analyzed to learn user intentions and automatically provide the appropriate services. However, existing service recommendation models typically do not consider the services that are unavailable in a user's living environment. In order to address this problem, we propose a series of semantic models for SH devices. These semantic models can be used to infer user intentions. Based on the models, we proposed a service recommendation probability model and an alternative-service recommending algorithm. The algorithm is devoted to providing appropriate alternative services when the desired service is unavailable. The algorithm has been implemented and achieves accuracy higher than traditional Hidden Markov Model(HMM). 10Ultraefficient thermoacoustic conversion through a split ring resonator显示文摘Microwaves,which have a∼10-cm wavelength,can penetrate deeper into tissue than photons,heralding exciting deep tissue applications such as modulation or imaging via the thermoacoustic effect.Thermoacoustic conversion efficiency is however very low,even with an exogenous contrast agent.We break this low-conversion limit,using a split ring resonator to effectively collect and confine the microwaves into a submillimeter hot spot for ultrasound emission and achieve a conversion efficiency over 2000 times higher than other reported thermoacoustic contrast agents.Importantly,the frequency of emitted ultrasound can be precisely tuned and multiplexed by modulation of the microwave pulses.Such performance is inaccessible by a piezoelectric-based transducer or a photoacoustic emitter and,therefore,split ring resonators open up new opportunities to study the frequency response of cells in ultrasonic biomodulation.For applications in deep tissue localization,a split ring resonator can be used as a wireless,battery-free ultrasound beacon placed under a breast phantom.Lu Lan Yueming Li Tiffany Yang-Tran Ying Jiang Yingchun Cao Ji-Xin Cheng 2020Advanced Photonics2020,2,3:1

15Reconstruction and petroleum geological significance of lithofacies paleogeography and paleokarst geomorphology of the Middle Permian Maokou Formation in northwestern Sichuan Basin,SW China显示文摘Based on analysis of outcrop,drilling,logging and seismic data,and geotectonic background,the lithofacies paleogeography and paleokarst geomorphology of the Middle Permian Maokou Formation in the northwestern Sichuan Basin were reconstructed,and the petroleum geological significance of the lithofacies paleogeography and paleokarst geomorphology were discussed.The Maokou Formation is divided into 3 long-term cycles,namely LSCl,LSC2 and LSC3,which correspond to the Member 1,Member 2 and Member 3 of the Maokou Formation,respectively.Controlled by the extensional structure caused by opening of the Mianlue Ocean in the north margin of the upper Yangtze blocks and basement faults produced by mantle plume uplifting,the area had tectonic differentiation in NWW and NE,and sedimentary basement took on episodic settlement from north to south,as a result,the sedimentary systems of Member 1 to Member 3 gradually evolved from carbonate platform to platform-slope-continental shelf.According to the residual thickness,paleokarst geomorphologic units such as karst highland,karst slope and karst depression at different stages were reconstructed.The karst geomorphological units were developed successively on the basis of sedimentary geomorphology.Sedimentary facies and paleokarst geomorphology are of great significance for oil and gas accumulation.The Maokou Formation in northwestern Sichuan has two kinds of most favorable reservoir zone combinations:high energy grain shoal and karst monadnock,platform margin slope and karst slope.Based on this understanding,the planar distribution of the two kinds of reservoir zones were predicted by overlapping the favorable reservoir facies belt with paleokarst geomorphology.The study results provide a new idea and reference for the exploration deployment of the Middle Permian Maokou Formation in the Sichuan Basin.ZHONG Yuan YANG Yueming WEN Long LUO Bing XIAO Di LI Minglong CHEN Cong ZHAO Like LU Feifan TAN Xiucheng 2021Petroleum Exploration and Development2021,48,1:1

19Optically-generated focused ultrasound for noninvasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision显示文摘High precision neuromodulation is a powerful tool to decipher neurocircuits and treat neurological diseases.Current non-invasive neuromodulation methods offer limited precision at the milimeter level.Here,we report opticallygenerated focused ultrasound(OFUS)for non-invasive brain stimulation with ultrahigh precision.OFUS is generated by a soft optoacoustic pad(SOAP)fabricated through embedding candle soot nanoparticles in a curved polydimethylsiloxane film.SOAP generates a transcranial ultrasound focus at 15 MHz with an ultrahigh lateral resolution of 83μm,which is two orders of magnitude smaller than that of conventional transcranial-focused ultrasound(tFUS).Here,we show effective OFUS neurostimulation in vitro with a single ultrasound cycle.We demonstrate submillimeter transcranial stimulation of the mouse motor cortex in vivo.An acoustic energy of 0.6 mJ/cm?,four orders of magnitude less than that of tFUS,is suffcient for successful OFUS neurostimulation.OFUS offers new capabilities for neuroscience studies and disease treatments by delivering a focus with ultrahigh precision noninvasively.Yueming Li Ying Jiang Lu Lan Xiaowei Ge Ran Cheng Yuewei Zhan Guo Chen Linli Shi Runyu Wang Nan Zheng Chen Yang Ji-Xin Cheng 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,11:1
