| 1 | Optimizing mechanical property and cytocompatibility of the biodegradable Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy by hot extrusion and heat treatment显示文摘The Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy is a new type of degradable material for biomedical application. In the present study, Mg-6Zn-1.2Y-0.8Nd alloy was fabricated, and then extrusion and heat treatment were conducted to optimize its mechanical properties and cytocompatibility. The microstructure observation, mechanical property, degradation behavior and cytocompatibility tests were conducted on the Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy with three different states: as-cast(alloy C), as-extruded(alloy E) and extruded + heat treated(alloy EH).The results show that alloy C consists of coarse grains and continuous secondary phases. The extrusion process has caused incomplete recrystallization, and results in a mixed grain structure of elongated grains and small equiaxed grains(alloy E). The heat treatment process has promoted the recrystallization and homogenized the grain structure(alloy EH). Both the strength and ductility of the alloy has been improved by extrusion, but the following heat treatment has decreased the strength and increased the ductility.The degradation behavior of the alloy C and E alloys does not show much difference, but improves slightly in alloy EH, because the heat treatment has homogenized the microstructure and released the residual stress in the alloy. The directly and indirectly cell viability tests indicate that alloy EH exhibits the best cytocompatibility, which should be ascribed to its relative uniform degradation and low ion releasing rate. | 2 | Oxymatrine reduces neuroinflammation in rat brain A signaling pathway显示文摘Cerebral neuroinflammation models were established by injecting 10 μg lipopolysaccharide into the hippocampus of male Sprague-Dawley rats. The rats were treated with an intraperitoneal injection of 120, 90, or 60 mg/kg oxymatrine daily for three days prior to the lipopolysaccharide injection. Twenty-four hours after model induction, the hippocampus was analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR, and the cerebral cortex was analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and western blot assay. The results of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and the real-time quantitative PCR showed that the secretion and mRNA expression of the pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β and tumor necrosis factor-α were significantly decreased in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of model rats treated with oxymatrine. Western blot assay and real-time quantitative PCR analysis indicated that toll-like receptor 4 mRNA and protein expression were significantly decreased in the groups receiving different doses of oxymatrine. Additionally, 120 and 90 mg/kg oxymatrine were shown to reduce protein levels of nuclear factor-κB p65 in the nucleus and of phosphorylated IκBα in the cytoplasm of brain cells, as detected by western blot assay. | 5 | Robust statistical approach to stereo disparity maps denoising and refinement显示文摘The advent of convolutional neural networks has led to remarkable progress in dense stereo labeling problem,achieving superior performance over the traditional methods.However,the ill-posed nature of stereo matching makes noise(outliers)in winner-takes-all(WTA)disparity maps inevitable.This paper presents a robust statistical approach to noise detection and refinement of WTA disparity maps.In the context of noise detection,the input noisy WTA disparity map is segmented into regular grid cells(regions)with the aim of leveraging Markov random field(MRF)to infer candidate disparity labels.However,there are two key problems:there can be large severe outliers in the regions;second,the regular partition process may produce regions with mixed disparity distributions.To overcome these problems,we optimize a robust objective function over the segmented disparity map.By obtaining the optimal solution of the objective function through a maximum a posteriori estimation in a probabilistic model,we are able to infer MRF candidate disparity labels.We then apply a soft-segmentation constraint on the estimated MRF candidate disparity labels to describe and detect outliers in the disparity map.Next,an edge-preserving statistical inference that leverages the joint statistics of the disparity map and its guidance reference image is used to select correct candidate disparity for each detected outlier.Finally,a weighted median filter is applied to remove small spikes and irregularities in the resulting disparity map.Rigorous and comprehensive experiments showed that the proposed method is distributionally robust and outlier resistant,and can effectively detect and correct outliers in disparity maps.Middlebury evaluation benchmark validated the competitive performance of the proposed method. | James Okae Juan Du Yueming Hu | 2020 | Control Theory and Technology2020,18,4: | 1 |

| 9 | A Comparative Study of the Electrodes Gels’Electrical Properties in the Measurement Issues of Intrabody Communication显示文摘Intrabody communication(IBC)technology is becoming progressively more standard-ized due to its low power consumption and high security features incorporated into the third phys-ical layer of the IEEE 802.15.6 standard.Even then,there are still many challenges in normalizing the measurement issues of IBC.A major concern that should not be overlooked is the electrodes in the IBC,especially the popular use of gel electrodes.In the channel measurements,gel electrodes are commonly employed to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and prevent electrodes from falling off.In this paper,a comparative study of the electrical properties of gel was investigated during the measurement of human channel characteristics and to clarify the differences of them.Firstly,the basis of electrostatic field pole plate measurements and electromagnetic theory were introduced to interpretate how the relative permittivity and conductivity of different gels will influence the meas-urement results.Then the in vivo experiments with different gel or dry electrodes were performed to compare the differences induced by the gel.The results indicate that the influence of the gel on the human channel measurement is mainly concentrated below 400 kHz(the attenuation is re-duced by 16.7 dB on average),and the stability of the permittivity and conductivity of the gel has a direct impact on the stability of its measurement of the human channel.This result may provide a meaningful reference for the standardization of electrode usage in IBC. | Fengjie Lin Ziliang Wei Jiejie Yang Yangrong Wen Yueming Gao Sio Hang Pun Mang I Vai Min Du | 2022 | Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2022,31,1: | 0 |
