1Response to Selection for Fast Growth in the Second Generation of Pacific Oyster (Crassostrea gigas)显示文摘Mass selection for fast growth was conducted in three Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) stocks from China, Japan and Korea using previously established lines (CS1, JS1, and KS1). To determine whether continuous progress can be achieved by selection for growth, the progeny of three second-generation Pacific oyster lines was selected for shell height and evaluated via a 400-day farming experiment. When harvested at the end of the experiment, the selected crosses of CS2, JS2, and KS2 lines grew by 9.2%, 10.2% and 9.6% larger than the control crosses, respectively. During grow-out stage, the genetic gain of three selected lines was (10.2 ± 1.4)%, (10.4 ± 0.3)%, and (8.4 ± 1.6)%, respectively; and the corresponding realized heritability was 0.457 ± 0.143, 0.312 ± 0.071 and 0.332 ± 0.009, respectively. These results indicated that the selection for fast growth achieved steady progress in the second generation of oyster. 2Kinematics and Dynamics Analysis of a Quadruped Walking Robot with Parallel Leg Mechanism显示文摘It is desired to require a walking robot for the elderly and the disabled to have large capacity,high stiffness,stability,etc.However,the existing walking robots cannot achieve these requirements because of the weight-payload ratio and simple function.Therefore,Improvement of enhancing capacity and functions of the walking robot is an important research issue.According to walking requirements and combining modularization and reconfigurable ideas,a quadruped/biped reconfigurable walking robot with parallel leg mechanism is proposed.The proposed robot can be used for both a biped and a quadruped walking robot.The kinematics and performance analysis of a 3-UPU parallel mechanism which is the basic leg mechanism of a quadruped walking robot are conducted and the structural parameters are optimized.The results show that performance of the walking robot is optimal when the circumradius R,r of the upper and lower platform of leg mechanism are 161.7 mm,57.7 mm,respectively.Based on the optimal results,the kinematics and dynamics of the quadruped walking robot in the static walking mode are derived with the application of parallel mechanism and influence coefficient theory,and the optimal coordination distribution of the dynamic load for the quadruped walking robot with over-determinate inputs is analyzed,which solves dynamic load coupling caused by the branches' constraint of the robot in the walk process.Besides laying a theoretical foundation for development of the prototype,the kinematics and dynamics studies on the quadruped walking robot also boost the theoretical research of the quadruped walking and the practical applications of parallel mechanism.WANG Hongbo SANG Lingfeng HU Xing ZHANG Dianfan YU Hongnian 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,5:12
3A deep learning-integrated micro-CT image analysis pipeline for quantifying rice lodging resistance-related traits显示文摘Lodging is a common problemin rice,reducing its yield andmechanical harvesting efficiency.Rice architecture is a key aspect of its domestication and a major factor that limits its high productivity.The ideal rice culm structure,includingmajor_axis_culm,minor axis_culm,andwall thickness_culm,is critical for improving lodging resistance.However,the traditionalmethod ofmeasuring rice culms is destructive,time consuming,and labor intensive.In this study,we used a high-throughput micro-CT-RGB imaging system and deep learning(SegNet)todevelopa high-throughputmicro-CTimageanalysis pipelinethatcanextract 24 riceculmmorphological traits and lodging resistance-related traits.When manual and automatic measurements were compared at themature stage,the mean absolute percentage errors for major_axis_culm,minor_axis_culm,andwall_thickness_culmin 104 indica rice accessionswere 6.03%,5.60%,and 9.85%,respectively,and the R^(2) valueswere 0.799,0.818,and 0.623.We also builtmodels of bending stress using culmtraits at the mature and tillering stages,and the R^(2) values were 0.722 and 0.544,respectively.The modeling results indicated that this method can quantify lodging resistance nondestructively,even at an early growth stage.In addition,we also evaluated the relationships of bending stress toshoot dryweight,culm density,and drought-related traits and found that plants with greater resistance to bending stress had slightly higher biomass,culm density,and culm area but poorer drought resistance.In conclusion,we developed a deep learning-integrated micro-CT image analysis pipeline to accurately quantify the phenotypic traits of rice culms in4.6 min per plant;this pipeline will assist in future high-throughput screening of large rice populations for lodging resistance.Di Wu Dan Wu Hui Feng Lingfeng Duan Guoxing Dai Xiao Liu Kang Wang Peng Yang Guoxing Chen Alan P.Gay John H.Doonan Zhiyou Niu Lizhong Xiong Wanneng Yang 2021Plant Communications2021,2,2:7

6A Two-stage Robust Optimal Allocation Model of Distributed Generation Considering Capacity Curve and Real-time Price Based Demand Response显示文摘Demand response, the reactive power output of distributed generation(DG), and network reconfiguration have significant impacts on a DG allocation strategy. In this context, a novel real-time price-based demand response formulation is integrated into the allocation model of DG. The tariff is regulated by the difference between the load and active power of renewable energy. Meanwhile, network reconfiguration and the capacity curve describing the active and reactive power limits of DG are included in the optimization model for promoting the allocation of DG.With these measures, the optimal allocation model of DG is established with the goal of maximizing the net annual profit while guaranteeing the efficient utilization of renewable energy. In addition, the uncertainties of renewable energy are considered on the basis of a two-stage robust optimization method. Finally, the entire optimization model is solved by the column and constraint generation algorithm in the IEEE 33-bus distribution system and a practical 99-bus distribution system. 7A unified level set framework utilizing parameter priors for medical image segmentation显示文摘Image segmentation plays an important role in many medical imaging systems,yet in complex circumstances it remains an open problem.One of the main difculties is the intensity inhomogeneity in an image.In order to tackle this problem,we frst introduce a region-based level set segmentation framework to unify the traditional global and local methods.We then propose two novel parameter priors,i.e.,the local order regularization and interactive regularization,and then utilize them as the constraints of the objective energy function.The objective energy function is fnally minimized via a level set evolution process to achieve image segmentation.Extensive experiments show that the proposed approach has gained signifcant improvements in both accuracy and efciency over the state-of-the-art methods.WANG LingFeng YU ZeYun PAN ChunHong 2013Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,11:4
8The Genomes of the Allohexaploid Echinochloa crus-galli and Its Progenitors Provide Insights into Polyploidization-Driven Adaptation显示文摘The hexaploid species Echinochloa crus-galli is one of the most detrimental weeds in crop fields,especially in rice paddies.Its evolutionary history is similar to that of bread wheat,arising through polyploidization after hybridization between a tetraploid and a diploid species.In this study,we generated and analyzed high-quality genome sequences of diploid(E.haploclada),tetraploid(E.oryzicola),and hexaploid(E.crus-galli)Echinochloa species.Gene family analysis showed a significant loss of disease-resistance genes such as those encoding NB-ARC domain-containing proteins during Echinochloa polyploidization,contrary to their significant expansionduring wheat polyploidization,suggesting that natural selection might favor reduced investment in resistance in this weed to maximize its growth and reproduction.In contrast to the asymmetric patterns of genome evolution observed in wheat and other crops,no significant differences in selection pressure were detected between the subgenomes in E.oryzicola and E.crus-galli.In addition,distinctive differences in subgenome transcriptome dynamics during hexaploidization were observed between E.crus-galli and bread wheat.Collectively,our study documents genomic mechanisms underlying the adaptation of a major agricultural weed during polyploidization.The genomic and transcriptomic resources of three Echinochloa species and new insights into the polyploidization-driven adaptive evolution would be useful for future breeding cereal crops.Chu-Yu Ye Dongya Wu Lingfeng Mao Lei Jia Jie Qiu Sangting Lao Meihong Chen Bowen Jiang Wei Tang Qiong Peng Lang Pan Lifeng Wang Xiaoxiao Feng Longbiao Guo Chulong Zhang Elizabeth A.Kellogg Kenneth M.Olsen Lianyang Bai Longjiang Fan 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:4
9Puerarin decreases hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha in the hippocampus of vascular dementia rats显示文摘In this study, a rat vascular dementia model was established by permanent bilateral common carotid arterial occlusion. Rats were intraperitoneally injected with puerarin 3 days before modeling, for 45 successive days. Results demonstrated that in treated animals hippocampal structures were clear, nerve cells arranged neatly, and cytoplasm was rich in Nissl bodies. The number of cells positive for hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha, erythropoietin and endothelial nitric oxide synthase was reduced; and the learning and memory abilities of rats were significantly improved. 10Effects of the standardized ileal digestible lysine to metabolizable energy ratio on performance and carcass characteristics of growing-finishing pigs显示文摘A total of 2,121 growing-finishing pigs (Duroc × Landrace × Large White) were utilized in six experiments conducted to determine the effects of different ratios of standardized ileal digestible lysine (SID-Lys) to metabolizable energy (ME) on the performance and carcass characteristics of growing-finishing pigs. Exps. 1 (30 to 50 kg), 2 (52 to 70 kg) and 3 (81 to 104 kg) were conducted to find an optimum ME level and then this level was used in Exps. 4 (29 to 47 kg), 5 (54 to 76 kg) and 6 (84 to 109 kg) to test the response of pigs to different ratios of SID-Lys:ME. In Exps.1 to 3, four treatments were used consisting of diets with a formulated ME content of 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 or 3.4 in Exps. 1 and 2 while Exp. 3 used 3.05, 3.15, 3.25 or 3.35 Mcal/kg. A constant SID-Lys:ME ratio of 2.6, 2.3 or 2.0 g/Mcal was used in Exps. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Weight gain was significantly increased with increasing energy level in Exp.1 while weight gain was unaltered in Exps. 2 and 3. For all three experiments, feed intake was decreased (P < 0.05) and feed efficiency was improved (P < 0.05) with increasing energy level. Tenth rib back fat thickness linearly increased (P < 0.05) with increasing energy level. In Exps. 4 to 6, five treatments were used consisting of diets with a SID-Lys:ME ratio of 2.4, 2.6, 2.8, 3.0 or 3.2 in Exp. 1, 2.1, 2.3, 2.5, 2.7, 2.9 or 3.2 in Exp. 2 and 1.8, 2.0, 2.2, 2.4, or 2.6 in Exp. 3. A constant ME level 3.2, 3.2 and 3.05 Mcal/kg was used in Exps. 1, 2 and 3, respectively (selected based on the results of weight gain). For all three experiments, weight gain increased (P < 0.05) and feed efficiency improved linearly (P < 0.05) as the SID-Lys:ME ratio increased. Tenth rib back fat thickness linearly decreased (P < 0.05) as the SID-Lys:ME ratio increased. 11The role of γ-aminobutyric acid in aluminum stress tolerance in a woody plant, Liriodendron chinense×tulipifera显示文摘The aluminum(Al)cation Al^(3+)in acidic soil shows severe rhizotoxicity that inhibits plant growth and development.Most woody plants adapted to acidic soils have evolved specific strategies against Al^(3+)toxicity,but the underlying mechanism remains elusive.The four-carbon amino acid gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)has been well studied in mammals as an inhibitory neurotransmitter;GABA also controls many physiological responses during environmental or biotic stress.The woody plant hybrid Liriodendron(L.chinense×tulipifera)is widely cultivated in China as a horticultural tree and provides high-quality timber;studying its adaptation to high Al stress is important for harnessing its ecological and economic potential.Here,we performed quantitative iTRAQ(isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification)to study how protein expression is altered in hybrid Liriodendron leaves subjected to Al stress.Hybrid Liriodendron shows differential accumulation of several proteins related to cell wall biosynthesis,sugar and proline metabolism,antioxidant activity,cell autophagy,protein ubiquitination degradation,and anion transport in response to Al damage.We observed that Al stress upregulated glutamate decarboxylase(GAD)and its activity,leading to increased GABA biosynthesis.Additional GABA synergistically increased Al-induced antioxidant enzyme activity to efficiently scavenge ROS,enhanced proline biosynthesis,and upregulated the expression of MATE1/2,which subsequently promoted the efflux of citrate for chelation of Al^(3+).We also showed similar effects of GABA on enhanced Al^(3+)tolerance in Arabidopsis.Thus,our findings suggest a function of GABA signaling in enhancing hybrid Liriodendron tolerance to Al stress through promoting organic acid transport and sustaining the cellular redox and osmotic balance.Pengkai Wang Yini Dong Liming Zhu Zhaodong Hao LingFeng Hu Xiangyang Hu Guibin Wang Tielong Cheng Jisen Shi Jinhui Chen 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:3
12Recent progress on low dimensional perovskite solar cells显示文摘Low dimensional perovskites have recently attracted much attention due to their vertical growth of crystalline orientation, excellent film morphology, and long-term humidity, light, and heat stability. However, low dimensional perovskites suffer from low power conversion efficiency(PCE) with respect to their three dimensional analogues. Therefore, it is imperative to find excellent low-dimensional perovskite materials for improving the PCE. Previous work has demonstrated that bulkier organic molecules,e.g., C_6 H_5(CH_2)_2 NH_3^+(PEA^+), CH_3(CH_2)_3 NH_3^+(n-BA+, iso-BA+), C_2H_4NH_3^+, and polyethylenimine cations(PEI+), play an important role in the formation of low-dimensional perovskites. In this review, we review the recent development of low dimensional perovskites for solar cells application in terms of film preparation, photophysics, and stability of perovskites, as well as the related device structure and physics. 13Facile construction of highly efficient MOF-based Pd@UiO-66-NH_(2)@ZnIn_(2)S_(4)flower-like nanocomposites for visible-light-driven photocatalytic hydrogen production显示文摘Construction of metal-organic-frame works-based composite photocatalysts has attracted much attention for the reasonable band gap and high surface areas to improve the photocatalytic activity.In this study,the ternary heterojunction Pd@UiO-66-NH_(2)@ZnIn_(2)S_(4)nanocomposites were facilely prepared for the first time by a two-step method.The visible-light-promoted hydrogen production rate of 0.3%Pd@UiO-66-NH_(2)@ZnIn_(2)S_(4)reaches up to 5.26 mmol g^(-1)h^(-1),which is evidently much higher than pure UiO-66-NH_(2),ZnIn_(2)S_(4)and binary UiO-66-NH_(2)/ZnIn_(2)S_(4)composites.Such a huge improvement in the photocatalytic performance is mainly attributed to the matched band gap of ZnIn_(2)S_(4)and UiO-66-NH_(2),and the introduction of Pd NPs into photocatalysts that broaden spectral response range and promote the photon induced charge carrier separation.This work may provide a feasible approach for the design and construction of metal-organic-frameworks-based photocatalytic materials.Mengting Cao Fengli Yang Quan Zhang Juhua Zhang Lu Zhang Lingfeng Li Xiaohao Wang Wei-Lin Dai 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,17:3
14Periodic performance of the chaotic spread spectrum sequence on finite precision显示文摘It is well known that the periodic performance of spread spectrum sequence heavily affects the cor-relative and secure characteristics of communication systems.The chaotic binary sequence is paid more and more attention since it is one kind of applicable spread spectrum sequences.However,there are unavoidable short cyclic problems for chaotic binary sequences in finite precision.The chaotic binary sequence generating methods are studied first.Then the short cyclic behavior of the chaotic sequences is analyzed in detail,which are generated by quantification approaches with finite word-length.At the same time,a chaotic similar function is defined for presenting the cyclic characteristics of the sequences.Based on these efforts,an improved method with scrambling control for generating chaotic binary sequences is proposed.To quantitatively describe the improvement of periodic performance of the sequences,an orthogonal estimator is also defined.Some simulating results are provided.From the theoretical deduction and the experimental results,it is concluded that the proposed method can effectively increase the period and raise the complexity of the chaotic sequences to some extent.Zhu Canyan Zhang Lihua Wang Yiming Liu Jiasheng Mao Lingfeng 2008Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2008,19,4:3
15Berlin Green Framework‑Based Gas Sensor for Room‑Temperature and High‑Selectivity Detection of Ammonia显示文摘Ammonia detection possesses great potential in atmosphere environmental protection,agriculture,industry,and rapid medical diagnosis.However,it still remains a great challenge to balance the sensitivity,selectivity,working temperature,and response/recovery speed.In this work,Berlin green(BG)framework is demonstrated as a highly promising sensing material for ammonia detection by both density functional theory simulation and experimental gas sensing investigation.Vacancy in BG framework offers abundant active sites for ammonia absorption,and the absorbed ammonia transfers sufficient electron to BG,arousing remarkable enhancement of resistance.Pristine BG framework shows remarkable response to ammonia at 50–110°C with the highest response at 80°C,which is jointly influenced by ammonia’s absorption onto BG surface and insertion into BG lattice.The sensing performance of BG can hardly be achieved at room temperature due to its high resistance.Introduction of conductive Ti3CN MXene overcomes the high resistance of pure BG framework,and the simply prepared BG/Ti3CN mixture shows high selectivity to ammonia at room temperature with satisfying response/recovery speed.Tingqiang Yang Lingfeng Gao Wenxuan Wang Jianlong Kang Guanghui Zhao Delong Li Wen Chen Han Zhang 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,4:2
16High-Performance Photo-Modulated Thin-Film Transistor Based on Quantum dots/Reduced Graphene Oxide Fragment-Decorated ZnO Nanowires显示文摘In this paper, a photo-modulated transistor based on the thin-film transistor structure was fabricated on the flexible substrate by spin-coating and magnetron sputtering. A novel hybrid material that composed of Cd Se quantum dots and reduced graphene oxide(RGO) fragment-decorated ZnO nanowires was synthesized to overcome the narrow optical sensitive waveband and enhance the photo-responsivity. Due to the enrichment of the interface and heterostructure by RGO fragments being utilized, the photo-responsivity of the transistor was improved to 2000 AW^(-1) and the photo-sensitive wavelength was extended from ultraviolet to visible. In addition, a positive back-gate voltage was employed to reduce the Schottky barrier width of RGO fragments and ZnO nanowires. As a result, the amount of carriers was increased by 10 folds via the modulation of back-gate voltage. 18Genetic Variation and Differentiation in Wide Ranging Populations of Razor Clam(Sinonovacula constricta) Inferred from AFLP Markers显示文摘The genetic variation and differentiation of the razor clam Sinonovacula constricta distributed along the coast of China were studied through amplified fragment length polymorphism(AFLP) analysis.Six primer combinations generated 193 fragments.The He values varied from 0.322 to 0.463 and the percentage of polymorphic loci ranged from 74.1% to 98.4%,which indicates a high level of genetic diversity.Cluster analysis by Nei's pairwise distance grouped all specimens by geographical origins.AMOVA consistently showed that genetic variation among populations was 8.71%,and most of the variation came from the genetic variation within populations(91.29%).Genetic differentiation among the six populations was moderate;pairwise FST ranged from 0.0282 to 0.1480,which indicated that S.constricta populations along the coast of China are genetically connected.Among all the six populations,the Beihai population is the mostly differentiated from the others,suggesting that Hainan Island and Leizhou Peninsula act as barriers to gene flow.All populations abide isolation by distance model as indicated by Mantel test,except for ZS(Zhoushan) and YQ(Yueqing) populations.Information obtained in this study will provide guidelines for conservation and fishery management of this species in the future.WANG Jingbo LI Qi KONG Lingfeng 2010Journal of Ocean University of China2010,9,3:2
19Genetic Variation Assessed with Microsatellites in Mass Selection Lines of the Pacific Oyster (Crassostrea gigas) in China显示文摘Four successive mass selection lines of the Pacific oyster, Crassostrea gigas, selected for faster growth in breeding programs in China were examined at ten polymorphic microsatellite loci to assess the level of allelic diversity and estimate the effective population size. These data were compared with those of their base population. The results showed that the genetic variation of the four generations were maintained at high levels with an average allelic richness of 18.8–20.6, and a mean expected heterozygosity of 0.902–0.921. They were not reduced compared with those of their base population. Estimated effective population sizes based on temporal variances in microsatellite frequencies were smaller to that of sex ratio-corrected broodstock count estimates. Using a relatively large number of broodstock and keeping an equal sex ratio in the broodstock each generation may have contributed to retaining the original genetic diversity and maintaining relatively large effective population size. The results obtained in this study showed that the genetic variation was not affected greatly by mass selection progress and high genetic variation still existed in the mass selection lines, suggesting that there is still potential for increasing the gains in future generations of C. gigas. 20Costunolide covalently targets NACHT domain of NLRP3 to inhibit inflammasome activation and alleviate NLRP3-driven inflammatory diseases显示文摘The NLRP3 inflammasome’s core and most specific protein,NLRP3,has a variety of functions in inflammation-driven diseases.Costunolide(COS)is the major active ingredient of the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Saussurea lappa and has anti-inflammatory activity,but the principal mechanism and molecular target of COS remain unclear.Here,we show that COS covalently binds to cysteine 598 in NACHT domain of NLRP3,altering the ATPase activity and assembly of NLRP3 inflammasome.We declare COS’s great anti-inflammasome efficacy in macrophages and disease models of gouty arthritis and ulcerative colitis via inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation.We also reveal that theα-methylene-γ-butyrolactone motif in sesquiterpene lactone is the certain active group in inhibiting NLRP3 activation.Taken together,NLRP3 is identified as a direct target of COS for its anti-inflammasome activity.COS,especially theα-methylene-γ-butyrolactone motif in COS structure,might be used to design and produce novel NLRP3 inhibitors as a lead compound.Haowen Xu Jiahao Chen Pan Chen Weifeng Li Jingjing Shao Shanshan Hong Yi Wang Lingfeng Chen Wu Luo Guang Liang 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,2:2
