| 1 | Human avian influenza A (H5N1) virus infection in China显示文摘Highly pathogenic influenza A (H5N1) virus causes a widespread poultry deaths worldwide. The first human H5N1 infected case was reported in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China in 1997. Since then, the virus re-emerged in 2003 and continues to infect people worldwide. Currently, over 400 human infections have been reported in more than 15 countries and mortality rate is greater than 60%. H5N1 viruses still pose a potential pandemic threat in the future because of the continuing global spread and evolution. | 3 | A theoretical model for mid-and low-latitude ionospheric electric fields in realistic geomagnetic fields显示文摘The geomagnetic fields,which play important roles in the ionospheric dynamo,can greatly affect the global distribution of ionospheric electric fields,currents and other ionospheric electrodynamics phenomena.In the study of ionospheric electrodynamics phenomena,such as the longitudinal variations of ionospheric electric fields,the non-dipolar component of the geomagnetic fields must be taken into account.In this paper,we deduce a theoretical electric field model for ionospheric dynamo at mid-and low-latitude which adopt a modified magnetic apex coordinates system.In the new electric field model,the geomagnetic fields can be calculated from either the IGRF model or the dipole field model,and the neutral winds and conductivities are calculated based on empirical models.Then the dynamo equation for the electric potential is finally solved in terms of the line-by-line iteration method,and the ionospheric electric fields and currents are derived from the calculated potential.Our model can reproduce the main features of the ionospheric electrodynamics processes,so it will be a useful tool for the investigation of the upper atmosphere and ionosphere. | REN ZhiPeng WAN WeiXing WEI Yong LIU LiBo YU Tao | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,24: | 7 |
| 4 | Development of a middle and low latitude theoretical ionospheric model and an observation system data assimilation experiment显示文摘On the basis of previous work, we develop a middle and low latitude theoretical ionospheric model in this paper, named Theoretical Ionospheric Model of the Earth in the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (TIME-IGGCAS). TIME-IGGCAS solves the equations of mass continuity, motion and energy of electron and ions self-consistently and uses an eccentric dipole field approxima-tion to the Earth’s magnetic field. We combine the Eulerian and Lagrangian approaches in the model and take account of the plasma E×B drift velocity. Calculation results reveal that the model is steady and credible and can reproduce most large-scale features of ionosphere. By using TIME-IGGCAS, we carried out an observation system data assimilation experiment. Assimilation results show that the E×B drift velocity can be accurately estimated by ingesting the observed foF2 and hmF2 into the model ap-plying nonlinear least-square fit method. | 5 | Recent Advances in Self-Supported Layered Double Hydroxides for Oxygen Evolution Reaction显示文摘Electrochemical water splitting driven by clean and sustainable energy sources to produce hydrogen is an efficient and environmentally friendly energy conversion technology.Water splitting involves hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),in which OER is the limiting factor and has attracted extensive research interest in the past few years.Conventional noble-metal-based OER electrocatalysts like IrO_(2) and RuO_(2) suffer from the limitations of high cost and scarce availability.Developing innovative alternative nonnoble metal electrocatalysts with high catalytic activity and long-term durability to boost the OER process remains a significant challenge.Among all of the candidates for OER catalysis,selfsupported layered double hydroxides(LDHs)have emerged as one of the most promising types of electrocatalysts due to their unique layered structures and high electrocatalytic activity.In this review,we summarize the recent progress on self-supported LDHs and highlight their electrochemical catalytic performance.Specifically,synthesis methods,structural and compositional parameters,and influential factors for optimizing OER performance are discussed in detail.Finally,the remaining challenges facing the development of self-supported LDHs are discussed and perspectives on their potential for use in industrial hydrogen production through water splitting are provided to suggest future research directions. | Libo Wu Luo Yu Xin Xiao Fanghao Zhang Shaowei Song Shuo Chen Zhifeng Ren | 2020 | Research2020,,1: | 7 |

| 10 | Vertical characteristics of ozone variation over the Arctic Chukchi Sea region in 1999显示文摘In 1999 summer, Chinese Arctic Research Expedition operated the Chukchi Sea. On Chinese icebreaker Xuelong, we made many high-resolution ozonesonds measurements. During the period from August 18 to 24, a synoptic scale observation was taken at 75°N, 160°W. Using the above data, together with TOMS total ozone and NCEP circulation data, we showed that atmospheric ozone amount experienced a high-low-high variation, with low-high-low tropopause altitude. Correlation analysis showed a close relation between the total ozone and ozone below 13 km, while the variation of the maximum concentration at about 20 km didn't show any relation to the column ozone. In 500 hPa height maps, there was also the weak-strong-weak southwesterly pattern. | 11 | Manipulating Bloch surface waves in 2D: a platform concept-based flat lens显示文摘At the end of the 1970s,it was confirmed that dielectric multilayers can sustain Bloch surface waves(BSWs).However,BSWs were not widely studied until more recently.Taking advantage of their high-quality factor,sensing applications have focused on BSWs.Thus far,no work has been performed to manipulate and control the natural surface propagations in terms of defined functions with two-dimensional(2D)components,targeting the realization of a 2D system.In this study,we demonstrate that 2D photonic components can be implemented by coating an in-plane shaped ultrathin(l/15)polymer layer on the dielectric multilayer.The presence of the polymer modifies the local effective refractive index,enabling direct manipulation of the BSW.By locally shaping the geometries of the 2D components,the BSW can be deflected,diffracted,focused and coupled with 2D freedom.Enabling BSW manipulation in 2D,the dielectric multilayer can play a new role as a robust platform for 2D optics,which can pave the way for integration in photonic chips.Multiheterodyne near-field measurements are used to study light propagation through micro-and nano-optical components.We demonstrate that a lens-shaped polymer layer can be considered as a 2D component based on the agreement between near-field measurements and theoretical calculations.Both the focal shift and the resolution of a 2D BSW lens are measured for the first time.The proposed platform enables the design of 2D all-optical integrated systems,which have numerous potential applications,including molecular sensing and photonic circuits. | Libo Yu Elsie Barakat Tristan Sfez Lubos Hvozdara Joab Di Francesco Hans Peter Herzig | 2014 | Light(Science & Applications)2014,3,1: | 3 |

| 13 | Simultaneous evaluation of two branches of a multifunctional integrated optic chip with an ultra-simple dual-channel configuration显示文摘We propose an ultra-simple dual-channel configuration for simultaneously evaluating two branches of a multifunctional integrated optic chip(MFIOC). In the configuration, the MFIOC is employed as a beam splitter to construct the demodulation interferometer together with a 2 × 2 fiber coupler. Interference happens between polarization modes traveling through different channels of the MFIOC. The cross-couplings of each channel are respectively characterized by the interference peaks which distribute on opposite sides of the central interference peak. Temperature responses of the MFIOC are experimentally measured from-40°C to 80°C. Results show that the proposed configuration can achieve simultaneous dual-channel transient measurements with resolution of-90 d B and dynamic range of 90 d B. | 14 | Nighttime electron density enhancements at middle and low latitudes in East Asia显示文摘Nighttime enhancements in ionospheric electron density at mid- and low-latitudes are investigated by using the critical frequency of the F2-layer(fo F2) data measured from ionosonde stations at Okinawa(26.3°N, 127.8°E, Geomagnetic 15.3°N), Yamagawa(31.2°N, 130.6°E, Geomagnetic 20.4°N), Kokubunji(35.7°N, 139.5°E, Geomagnetic 25.5°N), and Wakkanai(45.4°N, 141.7°E, Geomagnetic 35.4°N) in East Asia during several solar cycles. The results show that there are obvious seasonal and solar activity dependencies of the nighttime electron density enhancements. The enhancements are termed pre-midnight enhancement and post-midnight enhancement, according to the local time when the enhancement appeared. The former has a higher occurrence probability in summer months than in winter months. In contrast, the latter has a larger occurrence probability in winter months than in summer months. Moreover, the nighttime enhancements in electron density are more likely to occur at lower solar activity. | 16 | GPS detection of the coseismic ionospheric disturbances following the 12 May 2008 M7.9 Wenchuan earthquake in China显示文摘Here we report two cases of coseismic ionospheric disturbances observed through a GPS network in China after the great Wenchuan earthquake at 06:28 UT on 12 May,2008.One is detected 7.9 min after the earthquake and had an intensive'N'shape oscillated waveform with a pronounced amplitude of about 1 TECU,which propagates approximately southward to the distance about 1000 km with the horizontal phase velocity of 600±84 m/s and the period of 9.5±1.3 min.The other is detected8.5 min after the earthquake and has an oscillated waveform more like a positive pulse with an amplitude of about 0.5 TECU,which propagates eastward to the distance about 800 km with the horizontal phase velocity of 720±59 m/s and the period of7.4±0.8 min.These two coseismic ionospheric disturbances are caused by the acoustic gravity waves excited by partial transformation of the acoustic waves originated from the energy release of the earthquake,somewhere near the epicenter.The directional preferences of these two coseismic ionospheric disturbances may be associated with the oblique geomagnetic field lines and the background winds filtering effect. | SONG Qian DING Feng YU Tao WAN WeiXing NING BaiQi LIU LiBo ZHAO BiQiang | 2015 | Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,1: | 2 |

| 18 | Wafer-scale patterned growth of type-II Dirac semimetal platinum ditelluride for sensitive room-temperature terahertz photodetection显示文摘As the lastly unexplored electromagnetic wave,terahertz(THz)radiation has been exploited in a plenty of contexts such as fundamental research,military and civil fields.Most recently,representative two-dimensional(2D)topological semimetal,platinum ditelluride(PtTe_(2))has attracted considerable research interest in THz detection due to its unique physical properties.However,to achieve practical applications,the low-cost,large-scale,controllable synthesis and efficient patterning of 2D materials are key requirements,which remain a challenge for PtTe_(2)and its photodetectors(PDs).Herein,a facile approach is developed to obtain waferscale(2-inches)patterned PtTe_(2)arrays using one-step tellurium-vapor transformation method and micro-Nano technology.PtTe_(2)PD arrays are fabricated with the as-grown PtTe_(2)arrays evenly distributed on a 2-inch wafer,exhibiting high conductivity(~2.7×105 S m^(-1))and good electrical consistency.Driven by the Dirac fermions,PtTe_(2)PDs achieve a broadband(0.02-0.3 THz)response with a fast response speed(~4.7μs),a high sensitivity(~47 pW Hz^(-1/2))and high-resolution transmission THz-imaging capability,which displays the potential of large-area THz array imaging.These results are one step towards the practical applications of integrated PD arrays based on 2D materials. | Zhuo Dong Wenzhi Yu Libo Zhang Liu Yang Luyi Huang Yan Zhang Zeqian Ren Haoran Mu Cheng Chen Junrong Zhang Jie Li Lin Wang Kai Zhang | 2023 | InfoMat2023,5,5: | 1 |
